Biden Takes Cheap Shot At Roberts

Joe Biden took a cheap shot at John Roberts today.

Biden was to swear in senior executive staff at a White House ceremony after having already given the oath to newly confirmed Cabinet secretaries. When Obama reminded him that he had only done the one group and hadn’t done the second yet, Biden quipped, “My memory is not as good as Chief Justice Roberts.” Fox News

This is the Joe Biden who said he went to a local cafe to discuss the economy with people. The cafe had been closed for nearly 2 decades. This is the guy who talked about the great depression and the president going on TV to discuss the problem. TV was an experimental thing and households did not have them. This is the guy who has a weekly gaffe that involves a faulty memory or blatant stupidity.

I said before that it looked like both men were nervous with Obama starting his part before the complete sentence had been given and Roberts giving the incorrect line. In any event, it was not a big deal.

However, Roberts swore Obama in again last night just to be sure all was legal. They felt the original was fine but wanted to be sure. I am glad they did. The error was administrative and would not make a difference but there would certainly be people who tried to make a federal case out of it.

I can’t imagine it would get too far. We can’t get the courts to require proof Obama is a citizen so why would they worry about the oath?

From the report, it seems both men had a bit of fun with it. It is good they could laugh about it.

As for Biden, he is the answer to many prayers. Obama is safe because no one wants Biden as president. In addition, the comedians have been worried about a lack of material now that President Bush is gone because they dare not make sport of the sainted one.

Not to worry, Biden will provide them with plenty of material.
