Where’s Mine?

Well, it’s official now- everybody DOES get a trophy for showing up, or in this case, reading from a prompter- which I confess, I did not know was a skill set needed to promote Peace, or whatever the hell people in Oslo are giving the Nobel to Hussein for these days.
It damn sure isn’t for any accomplishment, that’s for sure- the man has done nothing but apologize- is there an award for that? There must be, because he hasn’t fixed the economy, hasn’t “Capped and Traded”, he sure hasn’t “stimulated” me, nor fixed healthcare.
I know- it must be that enormously successful trip to Copenhagen to bid on the Olympics- no, wait– it would have to be the complete and utter failure of that trip, combined with the multi- million dollar price tag and ginormous carbon footprint he generated in his abject failure. Or perhaps it is the award for perception.
Rather than recognizing concrete achievement, the 2009 prize appeared intended to support initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.
“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future,” Thorbjoern Jagland, chairman of the Nobel Committee said. “In the past year Obama has been a key person for important initiatives in the U.N. for nuclear disarmament and to set a completely new agenda for the Muslim world and East-West relations.”
He added that the committee endorsed “Obama’s appeal that ‘Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.'”

Ohhhhhh- it is the Nobel prize for “Appeal”– not accomplishments-I guess that makes a twisted bit of sense in this “looking Glass” world we now live in, where even the nerd, the last kid chosen for the team, the one you know will do nothing for you, but seems nice enough, gets the trophy too. As a matter of fact, gets the trophy over those who truly deserve it, just to show how open- minded we all are- how sweet- but while this might pump up the wounded ego of a spoiled brat with no accomplishments, it really does nothing in the real world but cheapen the Nobel Awards even more than I thought possible- and after they gave one to Al Gore, even I did not think it could sink even lower.
But Yes, It Could.
The committee chairman said after awarding the 2002 prize to former Democratic President Jimmy Carter, for his mediation in international conflicts, that it should be seen as a “kick in the leg” to the Bush administration‘s hard line in the buildup to the Iraq war.
Five years later, the committee honored Bush’s adversary in the 2000 presidential election, Al Gore, for his campaign to raise awareness about global warming.
The Nobel committee received a record 205 nominations for this year’s prize though it was not immediately apparent who nominated Obama.
“The exciting and important thing about this prize is that it’s given too someone … who has the power to contribute to peace,” Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said.

Hussein hasn’t done anything, much less contributed to “peace”- this committee’s agenda has always been to poke a finger in Bush’s eye- first, the commie Carter, then the incompetent Gore, and now Pinocchio on a string.
Here’s a guy who has rolled over more than a yellow cur dog with fleas, submitting to everyone this side of Belgium, and giving away any advantage we might have had- a perfect fit for the europeans.
They should call it what it really is- The Nobel Prize for Americans We Can Safely Feel Contempt For– You notice they are all liberal, socialist, marxist cowards. It’s real easy to feel contempt for these people and those who award them faux medals.
The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. Obama’s name had been mentioned in speculation before the award but many Nobel watchers believed it was too early to award the president.
Speculation had focused on Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, a Colombian senator and a Chinese dissident, along with an Afghan woman’s rights activist.
The Nobel committee praised Obama’s creation of “a new climate in international politics” and said he had returned multilateral diplomacy and institutions like the U.N. to the center of the world stage. The plaudit appeared to be a slap at President George W. Bush from a committee that harshly criticized Obama’s predecessor for resorting to largely unilateral military action in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Yeah- as in everything socialist, it’s all about that good old “Bush Derangement Syndrome”– all the european nations are still miffed about all the money they lost smuggling things to Saddam- especially the French and Germans, who are the leading members of the “Your a’ peein’ “ Union. So I guess its understandable- I can hardly wait to p*ss them off again. Then I’ll know we are on the right path.
We’ll get there, and once again marginalize the liberal loons that beset us.
What goes around comes around.
And don’t accept any faux prizes.
