Ban on HIV Positive Immigrants to be Lifted?

The ban on people with HIV coming to this country could soon be lifted if SB 2731 is enacted. This is a very stupid idea for several reasons.
People with HIV have a disease for which there is no cure. If they come here the chance of others getting infected increases but only because they are now here and can have contact. However, the chances of infection is especially greater for health care workers who might be exposed as the person’s need for health care services increases (as the disease progresses).
If people come here with this disease they will be entering into our health care system. It is unlikely they will have health insurance or the means to pay for their care so the burden of that cost will be borne by US taxpayers.
The people with the disease will eventually become too sick to work (assuming they get a job in the first place) so they will eventually be receiving welfare checks. This will add more financial burdens to the US taxpayer.
Unless the people with HIV are engaging in risky behavior the risk to others is nearly absent except for health care workers so this is not a consideration. Diseases like Tb kept people out because they were highly contagious but with HIV there must be direct blood or body fluid contact.
However, the disease is costly to treat and the people coming here will not be paying for it. The US taxpayer will be footing the bill and that is not what our tax dollars should be paying for. People with HIV should stay in their own countries and get their treatment at the expense of their government or international organizations.
It is wrong to expect us to pay for their illness when they have contributed nothing to our society. It is bad enough we are paying for all the illegals who are here.

This is typical of some of our government authorities who are bent on the destruction of America. First they immigrate the Islamic murderers by issuing visas who murdered 3,000 innocents, now they want to murder more innocent Americans by importing aids. There has to be some type of accountability for these scum suckers in authority.
There is accountability for “these scum suckers”. It takes the form of an election. And the majority of those in office when the planes hit the towers were reelected in 2004. All of you repukes chose not to hold them accountable. Shame.
Bunny, what would we hold people in office on 9/11 accountable for? The attack came as a direct result of Clinton’s policy of appeasement, ignorance and treating terror like criminal acts rather than acts of war.
His putrid response to Blackhawk down is whet led bin Laden to attack us on our mainland. bin Laden said that so it is not like anyone is making it up. Clinton’s inaction led bin Laden to believe that we were a paper tiger and since he did not get a war with us from his other attacks he decided to attack us here.
People like to say that Bush and his folks ignored the intelligence. It was the same intelligence that the Clinton administration had. No new threats, no new information, just the same nondescript threats that had been going on for a long time.
Big Dog is right. Clinton was offered Bin Laden along with intelligence from Egypts Islamic Jihad, Iran’s Hezbollah and the Palestine”s Hammas, All terrorists groups. Two in this group were the 9/11 murderers. These were offered by Sudan. This according to Mansoor Ijaz who did the negotiating and advised Berger and Clinton who ignored the opportunity. With Clinton’s pressure, Sudan booted Bin Laden along with the chief planner of the 9/11 attack, anothe terrorist who supplied Bin Laden with technology and Bin Laden’s secretary who is now in prison for the U. S. Embassy bombings. Also there were two others who left for Afghanistan with this group where they were free to do whatever. What a horrible tactical dereliction of duty!!! This after three other offers, which were ignored, to combat terrorism by neutralizing Bin Laden.
When all else fails, blame Bill Clinton. The mantra of the right-wing.

Using that logic, does that mean that it was acceptable for GWB not to act on that intelligence because Bill Clinton didn’t either? Absolutely not. The point is, the intelligence was non specific and no one knew when something was going to happen. Neither president or their people could tell from it what was going to happen or, more importantly, when.
My other point is, if the left wants to blame Bush then they must spread that blame to Clinton as well. I think the intelligence did not allow EITHER of them to take action.
However, it is absolutely true that Clinton’s inaction in Somalia emboldened bin Laden.
