Random Thoughts
Michael Moore has new movie out and it is a movie that is anti capitalism. Moore adds to his list of distorting films, F911 and Sicko (how much money did the anti capitalist make off them), with this movie about the evils of capitalism. But Moore will earn money from the movie. How is it possible for a person against capitalism to make money off his work? Yes, some folks will see it for free but Moore is in business to make money. He owns Halliburton and oil company stocks. Moore also does his post production work in Canada to avoid having to use union workers in the US and thus pays less for the service. Something tells me that his movie will not include these tid-bits about him.
Barack Obama said that we had to pass the stimulus bill now or we would get in a spiral from which we might not recover. We had to do it NOW.
Obama has been saying that we must pass health care reform (his takeover bill) NOW. He had a deadline of August but that came and went but he continues to say that it is imperative that we do this now. There is no time to wait, we must do it NOW. If it is so important to do NOW, why does it not take effect until 2013?
Interestingly, Obama took longer to decide on a family dog than he wants to allow for debate on the issues that he says we must do now.
The one thing that needs to be done NOW is resourcing our troops in Afghanistan. Health care takeover – NOW, read and respond to the troops request, not right now. Obama will push that off for a while as he takes time to study it. Can anyone explain why we don’t have time to read bills and why we must vote on them NOW but that we can delay the request of combat leaders until Obama has a chance to study it?
It has been 9 months since he took office. He talked about Afghanistan for several years before that. One would think he would have already put a plan in place but now, the man who said he would listen to commanders on the ground, is putting his request for more troops on hold.
Seems to me Obama is giving people a tobacco smoke enema. He has his priorities out of order.
Did you notice that a few thousand left wing morons protesting in Pittsburgh were unruly and had to be confronted by police? Did you notice that this small number of people made a mess and vandalized things? Did you notice how Obama said that compared to past G20 summits this one was tame and not well attended?
Did you notice that hundreds of thousands of protesters were in DC on 9/12 and none of them were arrested? Did you notice they left no trash and cleaned up after themselves? Obama did not notice them either claiming that he did not know about the protests. For that matter, the MSM ignored them. The MSM sure gave the G20 protesters a lot of air time though.
Left wing protesters and the 9-12 crowd. One group is good for America, the other is a bunch of lawbreakers who should be in jail. The people at the G20 should have been rounded up and sent to Gitmo (not because they protested but because they engaged in civil unrest that involved breaking the law and vandalized things while throwing rocks at police). They are fortunate they were not shot. Which means they are fortunate I was not in charge of the police there.
Did you notice that the Obama backed Pittsburgh Steelers are 1-2 so far this season?
The Census has added a question this year. They want to know if you and the people in your house are covered by insurance (and they list several kinds for you to indicate). Since Obama will fine or jail you for not having insurance, is it smart to answer this? Also, what does it have to do with the census and the provisions of the Constitution? For that matter, why do they need to know how many bathrooms I have?
I intend to answer only the questions that deal with the number of people in my family. The Constitution allows for the census to determine numbers of people for apportionment of representatives. There are no other provisions in there for all these other questions. If they want to know my income they can ask the IRS. If they want to know how many bathrooms (or other rooms) are in my house they can check with the county clerk who issued the building permit. If they want to know if I have health insurance they can suck wind because it is none of their business.
Anyone who answers all those questions is allowing them to usurp the Constitution.
As for census takers, they should be very careful about the questions they ask and about leaving when they are told to.

The Ice Cream Social Cause
Ben and Jerry’s ice cream is not a particular favorite of mine. In fact I have not had their ice cream in years because I do not like the flavors they offer. I prefer Breyer’s ice cream because it tastes good. And additional benefit is that the company is not involved in social activism.
In honor of Vermont’s new law allowing gay marriage, Ben and Jerry’s has renamed their Chubby Hubby ice cream to Hubby Hubby. It is one thing to celebrate the passage of an event with a new label as they did when Obama was elected and they changed an ice cream name to Yes Pecan or when they changed a flavor to Jerry Garcia to honor the Dead’s lead singer but it is quite another to rename an ice cream to mark the passage of a divisive issue. A lot of people find gay marriage wrong and it does not seem like a smart marketing ploy to remind people of the decay of an institution by giving the ice cream a name that references homosexuality.
I really don’t care about Ben and Jerry’s but find it funny that they think it is smart to inject themselves into this kind of an issue.
At least this is just a temporary change of a product and not a new one. Imagine the label if they had developed a new ice cream called Hubby Hubby:
Hubby Hubby
Fudge Packed Ice CreamLots of smooth cream sprinkled with nuts
For that bold, in your face taste
Perhaps they could have changed their Dublin Mudslide flavor to Double Mudslide or their Berried Treasure to Buried Pleasure…
I also wonder if the lesbians feel left out. There is no ice cream that has been renamed to honor the women’s ability to marry each other.
I think Ben and Jerry should rename their Banana Split ice cream to No Banana Lickety Split. It can have a label like:
No Banana Lickety Split
without nutsA delightful tub of ice cream designed
For those who don’t like to lick a cone
Maybe they could have changed their Phish Food flavor to Phish Mood or Jamacian Me Crazy to Jamacian Me Crazy so Lesbe Friends or even changing Sweet Cream and Cookies to Sweet Cream and Nookie.
OK, I have had about enough fun with this locker room humor. This is your chance to suggest flavors to honor other things in America. Perhaps they can come up with San Francisco Treat (packed with Fruits and Nuts) or maybe Democrat Delight (Lots of Fluff and Lacking Nuts).
Perhaps they can even rehonor Obama with a Cashews for Clunkers flavor. You have to use someone else’s money to buy it…
Lastly, they might try a flavor to honor Ted Kennedy. Something like Liver Quiver, an intoxicating ice cream that is sure to make a splash…
Have at it but try not to be to risque…

Senior Citizens Should Unite Against Health Care Bill
Aug 3, 2009 General
The health care bill making its way through Congress is an albatross that will sink the economy and make people beholden to the government. The goal is to make everyone a slave to the government and this will be accomplished by incrementally increasing governmental involvement until there is a single payer system that everyone must be a part of. This system will cover costs by putting the elderly in hospice by using the mandatory end of life counseling to guide them in that direction. This will save money on health care and it will save money in Social Security payments.
The elderly should unite against this bill because it will mean the end of Medicare. Seniors, who enjoy pretty good coverage under Medicare, will eventually lose that coverage and be placed in the single payer system where they will be guided to an early demise by their “caring” government.
Government will also have access to bank accounts in order to extract money for payment of services. Seniors, especially those on fixed incomes, cannot afford to have government dipping into their bank accounts. Government cannot use your tax dollars wisely so you know they cannot be trusted with access to your bank accounts.
Medicare is not the greatest thing around but it is better than the health care plan being considered. With proper oversight to weed out the fraud, waste and abuse, Medicare would be a more cost efficient option.
If you are a senior citizen you need to rally against this bill before you become a casualty of the new system. If you know any seniors then tell them to oppose this bill.
Senior citizens are one of the largest and most reliable voting blocks and Democrats cannot afford to upset them so they will listen.
Seniors, it is time for you to sound off and to do so loudly.

Happy Independence Day
Jul 4, 2009 General
Happy Independence Day to everyone. For those of you who still believe in freedom. liberty, limited government and rejection of tyranny I wish you the very best.
For those of you who envision our country as the big government, over regulated, tyranny that Obama is giving us with his wealth redistribution and government take over-plans, I hope you enjoy the Independence that others better than you have given much to protect though I doubt most of you actually know what it means to be independent.
And for you global warming enthusiasts, if you go out to watch fireworks tonight, you are hypocrites.
Have a great day.
Say a prayer for our military and say one for our country.

Maybe China Can Keep Him
Jun 7, 2009 General
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been quarantined in China after someone on the plane he was on had symptoms of Swine Flu (H1N1) so Nagin (as well as others) was quarantined.
Maybe if we are lucky the Chinese will keep him. That would be best for the people of New Orleans though China might regret keeping him.
But they will have a good spokesperson if a natural disaster strikes and affects a lot of Chinese. Nagin can go on TV and cry that they need Greyhound buses and blame George Bush for the disaster.
