Jose Still Does Not See

The Spanish version of the National Anthem is out and getting a lot of air time on Spanish radio stations. I saw a translation and it bears little resemblance to the original. Here is how the last part translates:

We are brothers in our anthem.
In fierce combat, a gleaming emblem of victory
and the struggle toward liberty.
My people fight on.
The time has come to break the chains.
Throughout the night they proclaimed, “We will defend it!”
Tell me! Does its starry beauty still wave
above the land of the free,
the sacred flag?

My people fight on across the desert, perhaps? And the time has come to break the chain link fences is more appropriate considering how many do just that to sneak in like thieves in the night. And a question mark after the sacred flag. Is that supposed to be an insult aimed at people who opposed the Mexicans placing their flag above ours and turning our upside down? I still like my version better. In case you missed it, here it is again:

Jose can you see? By the jail cell’s dim light.
You were so justly jailed for illegal entry
With your kids, dogs, and wife, you took a perilous flight
O’er the desert you walked, while you sneaked in so gently
Though the Minuteman’s hard stare, made the crossings more rare
You sneaked through in the night, then you stole our health care
Jose does your protester’s banner yet wave
Till we throw your ass out, and our country we save.

It just has a better ring to it…..

Illegals Getting The Message?

Thousands of immigrants stayed home from work this past week and they also took their children out of school and avoided church. No, there is not some new immigrant sickness going around, they stayed home because of the crack down on ILLEGALS. According to the story some legals immigrants stayed home because they were worried. I think that is someone’s smoke screen to hide the fact that people who did not go to work were likely ILLEGAL. This is a good time for the feds to go in and get them You see, their employers told on them:

Len Mills, executive vice president of Associated General Contractors of South Florida, estimated at least 50 percent of workers on construction jobs in the region had not shown up for work.

“This is costing millions of dollars a day, and I don’t know who is going to pay for it,” he said.

The feds can start at Associated General Contractors of South Florida and they can fine Len Mills in the process. You see, when Mills made this statement he told us that 50% of his workforce is ILLEGAL. He told the feds that they did not come to work so all the feds have to do is get his payroll and see who was absent. They can also swoop in and arrest 50% of his workforce and deport them. As for who is going to pay for his losses, who cares? He is breaking the law by employing ILLEGALS so as far as I am concerned it is the price he has to pay for breaking the law. In addition, if they can show he knew they were ILLEGAL, they can arrest him as well. Now that Mills knows 50% of his work force is ILLEGAL he will definitely be breaking the law if he lets them come back to work. Then we can make it stick and fine the hell out of him.

That little crackdown last week seems to have all the ILLEGALS on edge. Good! I hope it makes the ones who are trying to sneak in think twice. As for getting the rest of them Monday will be a perfect time to round up all the protesters. The feds should have Immigration trucks prominently marked and displayed in all the protests. That should keep the criminals from shutting down cities.

Jose Can You See?

Hip-Hop artist Pitbull, whose real name is Armando Perez, has decided to rewrite the US National Anthem in Spanish. His Spanish version will contain “most” of the original words and the intent of the song is to show America that immigrants matter. According to Pitbull, this country was built by immigrants. He right about that however, they were here legally. The problem with this movement is that the people who are supporting it are deliberately deceiving the American public. The issue to real Americans is ILLEGAL immigration. There was a time when immigrants came here and they were checked to ensure they had the proper vaccinations and that they were not carrying a disease that could kill millions of people. Now we let them walk in the back door and have no idea what they could be brining in with them.

This whole idea of a Spanish version of the National Anthem is a marketing ploy by Pitbull to make money. If half the immigrants in this country bought it at $10 a pop he would make a fortune. I look at this as a tasteless defamation of an American historical document. The Star Spangled Banner was written by Francis Scott Key in the Baltimore Harbor. I am sure during that time no Mexicans were running around getting shot at and the standard language of our country was English! Rewriting the National Anthem is just another erosion of this society in which every thing is translated into Spanish. If you buy an appliance the instruction book is 3 inches thick because of the translations. Small appliances have 50 tags on them warning you in every language that using a hair dryer in the shower can get you killed.

Top this off with the phone messages that indicate “for Spanish press 1” and the ATM machines that ask “English/Espanol?” and you have the erosion of a national identity. All countries are identified by their tradition and anthems are part of the symbolism that gives a country its identity. To rewrite it in another language is a slap in the face to the men and women who died to keep that flag flying in countless conflicts. Pitbull will add insult to injury by releasing a remix with anti-American lyrics in the song. Here is an example of the filth he will add:

“These kids have no parents, cause all of these mean laws … let’s not start a war with all these hard workers, they can’t help where they were born.”

I wrote earlier that protesting and trying to shut down cities is not a way to endear the LEGAL occupants of a country. Rewriting their anthem will not make it any better. The next thing you know these people will want it sung in both languages at ballgames. If it ever gets that far then the American citizens can start the boycotts. If you want to see a boycott that really works, wait until the people with the money boycott ballgames and other services.

Let me take a stab at rewriting the first verse in English to something that the ILLEGALS might understand:

How Not To Endear Yourself

Monday May 1st (a Communist holiday) is going to be a big day for ILLEGALS. They will take to the streets to protest immigration laws in this country. They have a goal of closing down major cities. This is definitely not the way to get the people who live here legally on their side. Now they will bill this as an event about immigration but make no mistake, this is about ILLEGALS. The US has immigration laws and for the people who follow them being here and working here and any other thing (legal) here is OK. It is the group of law breakers who walk across the border and rob us of our resources as if it is their God given right that laws are targeting. These people are not undocumented or misunderstood, they are ILLEGALS. They broke the law to get here and I think if they keep up this game we should arrest them all and instead of deporting them we can put them in forced labor camps making them pay their debt to society by building a wall between the countries.

I think that each state should activate its national guard and mix them with the feds. They can go to these rallies and snatch ILLEGALS off the street and put them on buses and ship them OUT! The idea that shutting down cities will give them what they want is very misguided and might have a great deal of backlash. The real citizens of this country just might not take too kindly to this thuggish behavior. They have no right to protest, the First Amendment applies to citizens, not ILLEGALS.

Here is my prediction. Monday there will be clashes, fights and arrests. A lot of people will suffer medical problems related to the protests and need medical care (that tax dollars will pay for) and the citizens of America will not like this a bit. I hope this allows the rest of us to put more pressure on politicians to pass real laws and quit playing around. It would do politicians well to remember that citizens make campaign contributions. ILLEGALS do not put any money in the coffers.

As an aside, a terrorist in this country might not be able to resist a target with hundreds of thousands of people around.

Roosevelt Had It Right

With all the debate and furor about ILLEGAL immigration one would think this is a relatively new problem. In fact, people have been coming here for years (that is how we all got here) but a very long time ago they did it legally. Now, they walk into the country without fear and once they get here they demand that we learn what they are saying and they raise their flags as if they have conquered a new world. Teddy Roosevelt had the idea of immigration pegged in 1907:

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

Snopes says it is true.

Roosevelt also had this to say:

“Let us say to the immigrant not that we hope he will learn English, but that he has got to learn it. Let the immigrant who does not learn it go back. He has got to consider the interest of the United States or he should not stay here. He must be made to see that his opportunities in this country depend upon his knowing English and observing American standards. The employer cannot be permitted to regard him only as an industrial asset.” (emphasis added)

Maybe we should have listened to him then and we would not have the problems we do now. It is not yet too late though we need to get the group of pretenders in Congress to pay attention and stop placating groups in order to garner their votes.
