Illegal Mexicans Oppose What?
Apr 19, 2006 Immigration
Considered felons by the government, these migrants fear detention, rape and robbery. Police and soldiers hunt them down at railroads, bus stations and fleabag hotels. Sometimes they are deported; more often officers simply take their money.
While migrants in the United States have held huge demonstrations in recent weeks, the hundreds of thousands of undocumented Central Americans in Mexico suffer mostly in silence.
While all these law breakers are parading through the streets with their Mexican flags and criticizing changes to laws they have no right to oppose, their home country treats ILLEGALS as felons! You read it right, the Mexican government considers them felons.
Will someone tell me what more we need in this country to convince us that there is an invasion taking place and that we have no obligation to treat these ILLEGALS according to some right they think they have? The only right they have is to be arrested and sent back home (and we should charge them for the trip).
I am tired of all the people, from both sides of the political isle, who cry about how ILLEGALS are people too and they deserve better treatment. I am equally tired of hearing Mexican President Fox cry about how ILLEGALS are treated when his country is treating them much worse. Our politicians need to get their heads out of that warm smelly place they are hiding them and pass TOUGH immigration laws including harsh penalties for ILLEGALS.

Arizona Loses Right To Complain About Illegals
Apr 18, 2006 Immigration
Arizona is a freeway for ILLEGALS to enter the country. They waltz in and take up residence or they move on to another state where they can begin to suck at the teat of government hand outs. Gov. Janet Napolitano vetoed a bill that would make it a crime to be in Arizona ILLEGALLY. I was under the impression that being in the country ILLEGALLY was a crime but I guess action was needed at the state level so they would be able to arrest ILLEGALS and hold them for federal law enforcement officers. She vetoed this bill stating that her law enforcement agencies had concerns and wanted the arrests to remain the responsibility of the federal government. Here we go again with everyone expecting the feds to swoop in and save them. This state, as well as all others, needs to realize that they are first and foremost responsible for themselves. Waiting for the feds to jump in is the wrong approach as the foolhardy people of New Orleans discovered when they refused to protect themselves while waiting for Uncle Sam.
Gov. Janet Napolitano is the same person who declared a state of emergency with regard to her porous borders and wanted to place the National Guard there to prevent ILLEGALS from entering. It is a shame she does not have the courage of her convictions. It is, after all, an election year. She can not afford to tick off the ILLEGALS or any legals who might vote for her. It was probably also important for her to veto a bill that the Republican controlled legislature had passed:
Republican Sen. Barbara Leff of Paradise Valley, who proposed the bill, said the governor has painted herself as tough on illegal immigration by declaring a state of emergency at Arizona’s border, but has taken little action to back up her rhetoric.
“I don’t think the governor wants to do anything about this problem,” Leff said. She said the bill would have been a means to detain illegal immigrants until federal agents can pick them up.

They’re Illegal, That Is Why They Won’t Return To Work
Apr 15, 2006 Immigration
Across the country many people took to the streets to protest our immigration laws. While many might not like the laws, they are not as arcane as those in Mexico, where many or the immigrants come from. The problem, of course, is not with those who are here legally, as many in the Drive-by-Media would have us believe. The problem is with the 12 million people who are here ILLEGALLY.
Some workers found out the hard way that actions have consequences. A few hundred employees around the country were fired when they missed work to attend the protests. A number that have been interviewed indicated that they were here ILLEGALLY. It would seem to me that if you do not want to draw attention to the fact that you are a criminal you would not participate in activities that would put you in the spotlight.
Many workers felt they were released ILLEGALLY, which is an irony in and of itself. They are complaining that they were fired ILLEGALLY when they themselves are here ILLEGALLY. It takes a lot of guts to take such a position. Some employers have decided to offer the fired employees their jobs back, with back pay. At a Detroit meat packing plant the workers say they will not return because they were already upset with their working conditions. I wonder if the fact that the company was going to check each worker’s status had anything to do with their decision not to return. They probably figure it is easier to get another job than to get back into the country, though not by much, it would seem.
It also seems that there is an unintended consequence of the protests and the admission by some employees that they are ILLEGALS:
Against the backdrop of the broader immigration debate, the firings raised another tangled issue for some of the companies and for the workers: the legal status of those employees removed. Ms. Rodriguez, a native of Mexico, said she moved to the United States 14 years ago and did not have legal status. Some other advocates for those fired in other states said they did not know the legal status of the workers.
If Rodriguez had reported to work like she was supposed to there might not be a question asked and it is likely she would have continued to break the law and get away with it. The protests have given employers another reason to re-investigate the status of their employees. I guess breaking the law and getting away with it was not enough for the ILLEGALS. They insisted on exercising rights they are not entitled to in order to make a political statement. Too bad, so sad, for them it backfired but for the US it is about time employers were more active in determining the status of their employees. I hope they are able to get rid of the law breakers and reduce the population of ILLEGALS, though it will take some time to get rid of 12 million.
I wonder if the government will give them amnesty and then consider doing the same for every AMERICAN CITIZEN who has broken the law. I imagine there are many tax evaders who would like to be released from jail. I am sure that Enron executives would like amnesty. They did not cause any more harm to their investors than ILLEGALS do to our economy.

Give Amnesty And They Will Come
Apr 13, 2006 Immigration
This time, the draw is a bill before the U.S. Senate that could legalize some of the 11 million people now illegally in the United States while tightening border security. Migrants are hurrying to cross over in time to qualify for a possible guest-worker program – and before the journey becomes even harder.
“Every time there is talk in the north of legalizing migrants, people get their hopes up, but they don’t realize how hard it will be to cross,” Loureiro said.
Politicians just do not seem to get it. You get more of what you subsidize. If we pay young women to have babies as teens then more of them have babies as teens. If we pay farmers not to grow crops, more of them do not grow crops. If we ignore the law breaking ILLEGALS past transgressions and give them legal status more of them will rush in ILLEGALLY to obtain legal status. We might just as well put a gate at the border and hand out citizenship on their way through and save the ILLEGALS all the trouble.
Why is it that when citizens of this country break the law they are prosecuted and punished yet when NON CITIZENS break the law we welcome them with open arms? We have this mentality that they provide such a valuable service to the job market that we can not do anything to them. A citizen who works and pays taxes but gets a DWI provides a valuable service to this country with his job but that does not stop the government from screwing him to the cross in the legal system. Because of my profession I know a number of people who have had a DWI. Most everyone of them is not an alcoholic and just exercised bad judgement. Yet that did not stop the government from imposing years of sanctions and raking them for more than 10 thousand dollars in legal fees. Some of them have been raped by a system of inept people that elected officials care little to hear about or fix. Governor Ehrlich and his transportation Secretary Robert Flanagan care little about anyone who is not famous or rich. Yet this very state thinks nothing of providing ILLEGALS with a driver’s license and makes every attempt to allow them to vote.
We have allowed the inmates to run the asylum and it is time to put our foot down. If we grant amnesty to these ILLEGALS then every American who has been charged and convicted of a non felony should have his record expunged and given amnesty.

Another One Bites The Dust
Apr 12, 2006 Immigration
“Nobody got fired. I came to work today and found out that my produce manager and my opening manager were not here today. All you need to do is come down and check in. Our store policy is if they don’t show up for work, with no excuse, that they’ve quit”
There are rules and when you break the rules you suffer the consequences. It would appear that since we have allowed people to break rules with impunity when entering this country they believe they can break the rules when ever they want and have no problems. Looks like they were wrong in Idaho.
