Pelosi Credits Iran for Surge Success
May 29, 2008 Military, Political
Not long ago Nancy Pelosi admitted that the surge in Iraq was working. This goes against the words of the Obamessiah who said that the surge was not working and neither was anything else and that we have lost the war. Pelosi had to do something so as to keep the message clear so what did she do? She creditied Iran, of all entities, for the success of the surge.
Well, the purpose of the surge was to provide a secure space, a time for the political change to occur to accomplish the reconciliation. That didn’t happen. Whatever the military success, and progress that may have been made, the surge didn’t accomplish its goal.
And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians-they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities-the Iranians. [emphasis mine]
This would be the same Iran whose goodwill has led to IEDs in Iraq that are maiming and killing our soldiers and the same Iran whose goodwill has provided weapons to the terrorists we are fighting. To Nancy Pelosi though, those Iranians are of such goodwill that they are responsible for the success of the surge. Anyone want to tell me why it is that neither Pelosi nor any of these other scumbag Democrats can give the credit for the success of the surge to our soldiers? That is, assuming we can get them to admit that the surge has been a success. Pelosi went out of her way to give credit for the work of our troops to the ENEMY.
Why did she do that? First of all liberals cannot give credit to our troops because they loathe the military and they feel that uneducated rubes join the military because they have no other options. Another reason that Pelosi gave praise to Iran was to undermine the Bush Administration. Iran is building nuclear weapons and there is chatter that military action will take place (I don’t think it will, at least not large scale and maybe not by us) against them to stop it.
Pelosi’s praise weakens the argument that Iran is a threat to the stability of the region and to the US. Most importantly to the Democrats, Pelosi’s mention of Iran and negotiations is a deliberate attempt to gloss over the inexperience of Obama which he demonstrates with his naive “negotiations without preconditions” position. Pelosi has now made it appear as if all we needed to do was talk to Iran and they would work with us. They negotiated and are, at least partly, responsible for the success of the surge. She did nothing more than try to give credibility to B. Hussein Obama and his position of weakness with regard to negotiations.
It is a crying shame that the Speaker of the House would give any credit to our enemy but then again we are talking about someone from the left.
Let me clear this up for Nancy Pelosi and all the other liberal twits who are unable to understand what is going on. Not only was the surge a success but it was a success because of the hard work of our military and only because of their hard work.
Iran has been nothing but a thorn in our side and they have caused the death of many of our troops. Nice to see Pelosi give such people praise.

Obama was Planning Trip to Iraq
May 28, 2008 Military, Political
John McCain has been hammering B. Hussein Obama pretty hard because Obama has declared that the US lost in Iraq and that the surge was not working and he made these assessments even though he has not been to the country in over two years. Obama has also not spoken with General Petraeus other than to grandstand during the General’s last briefing to Congress. John McCain suggested that Obama needed to go to Iraq and see for himself. He also suggested that before Obama engages in unconditional talks with our enemies he should consider doing so with our top commanders, particularly General Petraeus.
Well lo and behold B. Hussein Obama is considering a trip to Iraq. His people say that he has been thinking about this for some time (sure) and Obama indicated that he did not want to go there just for some political stunt:
“I just don’t want to be involved in a political stunt.”
“I think that if I’m going to Iraq, then I’m there to talk to troops and talk to commanders,” he said in the interview. “I’m not there to try to score political points or perform. The work they’re doing there is too important.”
What Obama is saying is that he would never use Iraq as a political pawn because the work our men and women are doing there is too important. No, Obama would never play politics with this important issue. Just one problem. His people stated this about his plans:
Obama’s campaign has been considering an overseas trip since last year to beef up his foreign policy credentials, but the extended fight for the Democratic nomination with Hillary Rodham Clinton has delayed those plans.
So Obama does not want to be part of a political stunt but he has been considering a trip to Iraq to beef up his foreign policy credentials. In reality, he is not going to talk to the troops or commanders and the work they are doing is not that important because B. Hussein Obama needs to beef up his credentials by going to Iraq. Obama would never play politics with this important issue but going just to beef up your creds is playing politics with this important issue.
It is also playing politics with this important issue to talk about a complete and unconditional withdraw from Iraq regardless of what commanders on the ground advise just to appease (there is that word again) the nutroots on the left fringe of the party. To decide on withdraw with little or no regard for what the real military professionals have to say is pure politics and is a move designed to win votes from those who are tired of the conflict.
I have my doubts as to whether Obama was planning a trip to Iraq or not but the fact is this little tidbit was not revealed until McCain started hammering him about it. No matter what he or his people say it will always look like McCain shamed him into going.
I wonder if he will meet with General Petraeus? I think Obama is trying to avoid the man because he will then be forced to either agree with a commander on the ground or disregard what he says. The former will tick off Obama’s base and the latter will show an arrogance toward a man who is about eight years older and has a hell of a lot more military knowledge than Obama will ever have.
McCain backed Obama in a corner with this one and it will be fun to see how this plays out. I bet Obama comes out of it with a lot more gaffes. Who knows, maybe he will come back with some more family war stories.
This Memorial Day, Take Time to Honor Them
May 26, 2008 Military
Memorial Day is more than just a three day holiday weekend or the beginning of the swimming season as pools open for the Summer. Memorial Day is a day we honor those members of the military who have died in the service of our country.
It does not matter what political party one belongs to and it does not matter how one feels about the current wars or any war, what matters is that people understand that the men and women of the armed forces serve this country and its people under the direction of the civilian leaders in government. The men and women of the armed forces do what they are told to do, when and where they are told to do it, and they do so without question.
Members of the military do not have the luxury of debating any action. They do not have the ability to say that they would rather not go or that it is the wrong war at the wrong time and all the other things we hear. However, the men and women of the armed forces are the very reason that every other person in this country has the ability to express all these feeling and more. The men and women of the armed forces, the ones who are abused so often by the left, ensure that this country is safe and that each person enjoys the freedoms and the rule of law established in our Constitution. They even ensure that the idiots in Berkeley and places like it are free to say and do things that are vile and disgusting. Not everyone on the left is guilty as Meatbrain has shown nor are all the folks on the right guiltless in the matter.
Today is the day we honor those who have given that last greatest measure of devotion so that we can continue to live as a free people in the greatest nation on this planet.
Today while you are enjoying your cook-outs, swimming in the pool, and relaxing as your three day holiday winds down please take a moment to pray for the souls of those military members who have died in the service of our nation and those who still serve so that we may remain free.
For those who fight for it, life has a special meaning the protected will never know. [author unknown]

Senator Harkin is Anti Military Idiot
May 17, 2008 Military, Political
Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa is a bonehead who has insulted John McCain because McCain served in the military. According to Harkin, McCain’s service and the generations of service from his family has wired him differently and renders him unfit to serve as president. Imagine that, Harkin thinks military service makes one unfit for the Presidency. Remember when service was a good thing and when most of our presidents served or came from military families? Perhaps liberals look at this differently because it is getting harder and harder to find liberals who served and they know this.
Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s family background as the son and grandson of admirals has given him a worldview shaped by the military, “and he has a hard time thinking beyond that,” Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Ia., said Friday.
“I think he’s trapped in that,” Harkin said in a conference call with Iowa reporters. “Everything is looked at from his life experiences, from always having been in the military, and I think that can be pretty dangerous.”
AdvertisementHarkin said that “it’s one thing to have been drafted and served, but another thing when you come from generations of military people and that’s just how you’re steeped, how you’ve learned, how you’ve grown up.” Des Moines Register
Harkin is absolutely, without a doubt a complete idiot. He believes that being in the military and that havng a family history of serving makes one unfit to be the president. I guess the idea of discipline, selfless service to the country, duty, honor, and integrity (all values taught in the military) are not what Harkin would call positive attributes. And why would he? Just look who he backs for president. Barack Obama.
Barack Obama lived the ideal liberal life. He was born to a black man and white woman. His father left when Obama was very young so he was left in a single parent household. Eventually he ended up being shipped off to his typical white grandmother. Obama benefitted from affirmative action and used the benefits provided by the government to attend law school and then he became a politician and has lived off the government. Barack Obama has lived a liberal life of handouts and socialism. He is not fit to be president. His life experiences are ingrained in him and he will try to run the country based on his liberal ideas of income redistribution.
It seems to me that Democrats are positioning themselves for the general election. They know that Obama has NO military experience whatsoever and his life shows he has little leadership experience. The left is trying to make this a non issue now by claiming it is McCain whose life experiences make him unfit to serve. There are a lot of problems with John McCain that might call into question his qualifications for the presidency but his military experience is not among them and Senator Harkin should be slapped around for suggesting such stupidity.
Think about it America. The Democrats want you to believe that military experience and a family history of service makes people unfit to be president. Barack Obama is supposed to be the next coming of JFK. As I recall Kennedy was in the Navy. His service failed to make him unfit to be president.
Only in the mind of liberal idiots could military experience disqualify a person from serving AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES.
And this is the kind of logic that wants to run this country. It might be a good idea for the liberals to come up with another line of attack. This whole military issue will backfire. Harkin has already insulted a lot of people who have served and whose families have a history of service and these insults will not go unnoticed.
