Edwards Shovels More than Dirt

John Edwards is in New Orleans where he will use the backdrop of destruction from a natural disaster to announce he is running for President of the United States. Edwards was John Kerry’s running mate after failing to win the Democratic nomination in 2004. His two Americas theme, one of rich people and one of the poor working class, is sure to be revived and the setting of a poor New Orleans is a perfect place for the revival. Edwards, the RICH elitist who makes millions of dollars chasing ambulances, will play to the poor in this country and will start by using the poor in NO. Edwards also voiced his concern at the rate of recovery in New Orleans as if the place could be built overnight. People in Florida are still waiting to rebuild and have been waiting for years prior to the disaster in Louisiana.
But Florida has a wealthier population that is not predominantly black so that would not suit Edwards’ theme about the two Americas. In addition, the retired people in Florida are not likely to listen to Edwards’ message about evil corporations like Wal Mart (who pay more than the minimum wage and offer good benefits). Edwards needs to continue his help the little guy crusade against Wal Mart so that he can garner the support of labor unions who are salivating over the prospects of hooking the one million Wal Mart workers into the corrupt mob that poses as a union. Edwards did not let his crusade stop him from trying to use his position to obtain a Play Station 3, from Wal Mart, ahead of the working guy. Edwards is part of the rich America who wants to have power over the poor America.
John Edwards had to show that he was a regular guy so he stepped in to help shovel some dirt from a property that was nearly destroyed by Katrina (and that the article indicates is nearly rebuilt). That rebuilt part does not square with Edwards’ idea that it is taking to long to rebuild. Here is what the article said about Edwards the handyman:
Taking turns with about 30 young people shoveling loads of dirt in Tyler’s backyard, Edwards declined to discuss the campaign, focusing instead on the slow recovery in New Orleans, where whole neighborhoods remain a wasteland. Breitbart
If Edwards is so concerned about the rebuilding of New Orleans why didn’t he go there sooner and shovel dirt? How come he is there to help when he wants to announce his candidacy but has not been there since the disaster struck? Perhaps those two Americas prevent a rich guy like Edwards from working for the poor folks.
Keep you eyes and ears open and be sure to wear hip boots because dirt is not the only thing John Edwards shovels, and he shovels a lot of the other stuff.
