Global Warming Gives Global Excuses

Al Gore and his band of Global Warming misfits staged a huge Live Earth concert this weekend to make everyone aware of the effects of Global Warming. These folks have just decided, without scientific tests or proof, that GW is absolutely true and anyone who does not believe is a denier (I guess that is like being a Nazi). These cretins have even found a way to ensure that evidence contrary to GW or events that would seem to be opposite of GW are not used against them. They simply blame whatever the event is on climate change.

Take the portion of the Live Earth concert that was broadcast from Johannesburg, they had a low turn out because of snow and cold weather. It has not snowed there for about 25 years so instead of calling this a freak event of nature, the GW drones say that the weather event was caused by climate change and that is why the turn out was low. It is amazing what they can attribute to Global Warming. Hurricanes, freezing rain, snow, blizzards, ice storms, solar eclipses, bad hair days, Al Gore’s son’s drug problems, and rap music are all the result of Global Warming.

We must jump on the bandwagon or we will all perish in a fiery blaze as the world ends, unless the world freezes over in which case we will all freeze to death because of Global Warming. Al Gore is not dumb and he learned is lessons well while serving in the Senate and as Vice President. Whenever something went wrong for Democrats they blamed Republicans. No matter what it was they told everyone that bad Republicans did it. When something is said enough, people start to believe it. Al developed the same tactics for his Global Warming scam. No matter what happens in the weather or on Earth, blame it on GW. This will scare the people into jumping on board.

Of course, as dense as many in our population are, they will probably be more confused than anything. How else would one explain the huge number of people who mindlessly follow this charade? How can one explain the stupidity?

I say it is all because of Global Warming…

Anyone who denies global warning is a [vulgarity edited by owner], anyone who supports bush and Cheney and their “corporations are God” theology is a [vulgarity edited by owner] with nothing serious to say. You’re wasting your breath anyway as Gore is our next president. Thank God.

Ladies and gentlemen, Robert O’Brian is the intelligent argument in the global warming debate. If they can not con you they will try to browbeat you.

Robert uses nasty words because he is not intelligent enough to express himself very well. It is OK, he is a product of the public school system which is run by the same people who are going to fix global warming.

Just to be clear, I believe the Earth is warming I just don’t think man has anything to do with it and I don’t think man can correct it. It happens in cycles, you would have learned that in a better school as well.

  4. Steve Dennis says:

That’s why there is this ongoing conversion of the term global warming into the term climate change. It’s easier to blame record LOW temperatures on climate change than global warming for obvious reasons.
It is scary how many people blindly follow the lead of the global warming alarmists.

These folks have just decided, without scientific tests or proof, that GW is absolutely true…

Now that’s juat a bald faced lie. There is plenty of proof of man made climate change – there are over 1300 peer-reviewed scientific articles in scientific journals that argue for man-made climate change. The point is that you don’t believe what they say. Instead, you believe, um, how many peer-reivewed scientific articles back up your position?

  6. Big Dog says:

No Peter, there are scientists who believe in it and those who don’t. None of these scientists have conducted any peer reviewed experiments. There are as many scientists who do not believe this as there are who do.

The GW crowd shuts those who do not believe up. Look at the guy from NASA. 6 Master’s degrees and a Phd and they shut him up. The UN report was altered and did not reflect the ideas of some of the scientists.

What proof Peter? We can’t predict the weather 5 days from now and you are telling me that they can say what it will be in 50? Get real. Also, the Earth was hotter a long time ago than it is now. The Earth has gotten warm then cool then warm then cool. It happens about every 1500 years and we are in that cycle. Man was not here when it warmed up a long time ago so how did we cause it.

There is also evidence that there is global warming on Mars. Are we responsible for this as well? Maybe the Martians are driving SUV Mars Rovers?

Al Gore said we would be gone in 10 years. I will bet we are still here (as a race, not individuals. We might die tomorrow).

When you say none, do you mean that no scientists who believe in the theory of man-made climate change have done no peer reviewed experiments? Or are you talking about those who don’t believe in it.

The GW crowd shuts those who do not believe up. Look at the guy from NASA. 6 Master’s degrees and a Phd and they shut him up. The UN report was altered and did not reflect the ideas of some of the scientists.

By shutting up do you mean the deniers not being able to pass the peer-review process? Do you have some proof of this happening?

As for the NASA guy, I’m not sure what the story is behind that.

And the UN report? I am sure it didn’t reflect the belief of lots of scientists. There are those scientists who say that it was softened to appease politicians, others say it was beefed up. In the end I would like to hope that the evidence won out, but we know that isn’t always the case.

Let’s not also forget that many U.S. scientists have had their views blocked and suppressed by the Bush administraion.

What proof Peter? We can’t predict the weather 5 days from now and you are telling me that they can say what it will be in 50? Get real.

Climate and weather are two different things. Weather is a daily occurence, climate is the average weather of an individual area over time. Sure, they can’t predict with 100% accuracy what the weather is, but over a period of time they can tell you whether a climate is hot, cold, wet and dry.

Also, the Earth was hotter a long time ago than it is now. The Earth has gotten warm then cool then warm then cool. It happens about every 1500 years and we are in that cycle. Man was not here when it warmed up a long time ago so how did we cause it.

No-one is arguing that we have been the cause of every single warming or cooling over time, just this one. Climate scientists understand what changes climate – solar variations, volcanoes, changes in the Earth’s orbit, and cosmic radiation variations – and none of these has been proven to the cause of this one. In this case, we are the variation – we produce C02 in spades and unless you dispute the greenhouse theory, then what else is it? If it was solar radiation, why haven’t we seen more papers on the subject? A massive liberal plot? That’s the best answer?

There is also evidence that there is global warming on Mars. Are we responsible for this as well? Maybe the Martians are driving SUV Mars Rovers?

So what? No-one is arguing that climate change hasn’t occured naturally over time. We understand this. The point is that this time it isn’t a natural cause. It is us.

My big question with people like you Big Dog, is what should the standard of proof be? You seem to distrust the peer-review process. The scientific method. Reproducability etc… How should we determine truth and cause and effect in the world? What is the alternative if the current standard of determining fact from fiction do you suggest?

  8. Big Dog says:

I certainly agree that if there is a problem we should be looking into it. There are equal numbers of scientists who disagree with GW as a man made event.

Before this was declared as absolute it would be to our advantage to have it thoroughly investigated by the scientific process.

We will spend billions of dollars and have a negligible effect on warming. I am also skeptical of the carbon offset idea. If it works, then why not just plant more trees.

One thing is for sure, having concerts where they produce more carbon in a weekend than Afghanistan did all last year is not helping the people who espouse drastic measure. Of course, neither is spending $500 a month to heat a pool or $30,000 a year on electricity as the prophet Gore does.

We have about 8 years left. Let’s see if we all die in 8 years.

Not climate scientists. The vast majority of those who publish peer reviewed papers in the area of climate science do believe that climate change is man made. Yes, there are other scientists from other disciplines who don’t publish papers in climate science who disagree, but who cares?

Before this was declared as absolute it would be to our advantage to have it thoroughly investigated by the scientific process.

Which is being done. There are over 1300 or so peer-reviewed scientific papers which have investigated the link between human activity and climate change and come to a conclusion that the two are linked – the question is, why do you refuse to acknowledge this and take the experts conclusion?

One thing is for sure, having concerts where they produce more carbon in a weekend than Afghanistan did all last year is not helping the people who espouse drastic measure. Of course, neither is spending $500 a month to heat a pool or $30,000 a year on electricity as the prophet Gore does.

Neither here nor there. The reality of man made climate change doesn’t hinge on the activities of those who espouse it. Try another argument.

For the Big Dog, you’re bite sure if worse than you’re bark.

  11. Big Dog says:

We could go round and round all day about the science. I know that this is a theory and that there are those who disagree with it.

Certainly relevant. One can not tell everyone the world is going to end and then not follow his own advice. Gives the impression it is bogus.

The 1300 are who? Many of them are paid with government grants to study GW. No GW means no job. There has been no proof, only theory, that man is causing GW. The very science you discuss says we would make a very minor dent even if we followed very draconian methods to reduce carbon emissions.

We need CO2, the plants need it to live. Plant more green stuff to take care of it.

30 years ago we were heading for an ice age. The ozone hole (which was not a hole) was going to kill us and here we are today, still alive.
