Impeach Bush if He Signs Amnesty Bill

It looks as if the immigration plan will rear its ugly head once again now that el Presidente’ Bush is back in town. Bush, who views immigration reform as necessary and will sign a deal with the devil to get any bill passed is selling this country out for special interests. He is also trying to salvage a legacy and though I am not sure selling America out is the kind of legacy he wants now that daddy Bush is hanging out with Bill Clinton the Bushes will have the master to show them how to rewrite history.

Unfortunately, history is being rewritten as Congress and el Presidente ignore the will of the people and ram this flawed legislation down our collective throats. The bill is seriously flawed and is so thick and cumbersome that it will result in amnesty and little else. Millions upon million of ILLEGALS will become legal in one stroke of a pen and all else will be forgotten, litigated, changed or ignored as has been the history of past amnesty bills. The last one was supposed to secure the borders and yet we have 12-20 million ILLEGALS here in this country. I realize that the wealthy in this country need people to mow their lawns but given that obesity is a major problem in this country it might do the elite some good to mow their own damned lawns.

There are those who point out that polls indicate that Americans want reform. I do not dispute this but I point to polls that indicate nearly 70% of those surveyed say this bill is not the answer. They do not believe it will curb illegal immigration and feel it will cost billions while doing little. A comprehensive package is too complicated and opens too many doors to corruption and opportunites to screw the citizens.

El Presidente Bush is being stubborn on this issue and the Democrats who want this bill are saying this is the President’s bill. It is Ted Kennedy’s bill that the President supports. In any event, it is amazing that the same Democrats who chided Bush for being stubborn are in his corner and want him to help force this through.

Those who vote for this bill would do well to remember that George Bush is not up for reelection this year but many in the Senate are. Those who vote for this will have to answer for that vote.

If el Presidente is successful in forcing this bill through then I would agree that he needs to be impeached. I don’t believe he lied us into war and I don’t believe he committed any impeachable offenses in the prosecution of the war on terror. I do however, believe that he will have failed in his duty to protect this country and he will have weakened our sovereignty if he gets this bill through. Of course, it still has to get through the House where 4 times as many people have to agree.

President Bush said he was confident this would go through and that he would see us at the signing [of the bill]. He won’t see us then but he will hear us when we call for him to be impeached.

Big Dog

For those of you who always accused me of being Bush’s lapdog or a blind follower, I told you before, I followed what I believed in and I expressed my disagreements when they occurred. I don’t believe in this so I am against him and I am so against it that I will side with impeachment if he signs it into law. That should clear things up for you [and you know who you are].

BD, I knew all along where you stood…. I also know that there are a few others that seem to back Bush, no matter what he does and that is as BAD for our country as the liberals are.

If someone will demand impeachment and start the proceedings I will do do whatever I can to support it.

  5. Big Dog says:

No demand until he signs that immigration amnesty bill. He has not committed an impeachable offense yet.

Texas Fred indicates that he was one of those who believed I was a lapdog and that he appreciates my epiphany and i know he meant that in the nicest way. I have had no epiphany, I have always held the same beliefs. I have disagreed little with many of the policies put forward though I believe we have not prosecuted this war aggressively enough, I don’t agree with sending billions to Louisiana for hurricane relief and i don’t believe in amnesty. These are positions I have held and they have not changed.

Those who know me already knew that.

Nice post, and, I believe signing the amnesty bill would be an impeachable offense. If a viable impeachment effort does come about count on me for a 3 or 4 digit contribution.

Take care and thanks for a nice post.

Here’s a liberal who believes that George is just trying to help out the corporations ONCE AGAIN by handing them near-slave wage workers, creating a new class of legal cheap labor in the country. Most of those companies would and could pay better to LEGAL AMERICANS if they were forced to by the lack of low wage workers. And if we all had to pay a dime more for oranges to pay for it, WE SHOULD.
But the republicans are missing the boat and should impeach him anyway for blowing half a trillion of our money and killing tens if not hundreds of thousands (pro-life, right?) on his little joyride through Iraq that has accomplished absolutely…nothing.
