Mr. President, I Will Tell You What Is Right for America

I have been a supporter of President Bush since he was nominated by the party over seven years ago. He was certainly a better choice than either of the Democrats running and I have generally agreed with his policies. I support the war on terror and the war in Iraq and I believe that we need to wipe out what people call Islamic extremism but what is really mainstream Islam. I have however, disagreed with him on several issues and the most important one is ILLEGAL immigration.
The President of the United States does not have a clue when it comes to immigration and securing our borders against an invasion from the south. President Bush, along with several Republicans, has sided with Ted Kennedy in supporting an amnesty bill that will ruin this country. I would have thought that these people in DC would have learned from the last two Kennedy sponsored amnesty bills that were touted as the end to ILLEGAL immigration but ended up giving us more ILLEGALS than before. They can deny that it is amnesty and point to sanctions but those sanctions will soon disappear and we will be left with millions of freeloaders who suck up resources and bring us down. One only needs to look at what they did to Mexico and what they have done to the towns they have taken over in the US to know that things will get worse, not better.
President Bush is out on the trail trumping up this bill and trying to tell people why they should support it. I believe that President Bush has always wanted a way to grant millions of ILLEGALS amnesty and to allow them to live here and sponge off the taxpayers in this country and now that the Democrats are the majority he has the forum in which to do it. He has been beaten up so badly over the past six years that I believe he is willing to do anything to pass this so that he will have some sort of legacy. Believe me when I tell you that the legacy will be of a failed presidency and the ruination of America if he has his way. The problem with those in DC is that they do not listen to the majority of people in this country who do not support this bill. They just feel that we do not understand. Here is what the President had to say:
"Those determined to find fault with this bill will always be able to look at a narrow slice of it and find something they don't like," the president said. "If you want to kill the bill, if you don't want to do what's right for America, you can pick one little aspect out of it.
"You can use it to frighten people," Bush said. "Or you can show leadership and solve this problem once and for all." Breitbart
Mr. President I have the utmost respect for you and the office you hold but you are dead wrong on this. What is right for America is to close our borders and not reward those who came here ILLEGALLY. I don't care how many fines you levy, I don't care what you call it, and I don't care how much so-called bipartisan support you claim to have, this is wrong and it rewards ILLEGAL behavior. Not only does it reward ILLEGAL behavior, it cheapens the efforts and sacrifices of those who did all the right things and came here legally and who we welcome with open arms. It tells the world that America has laws that it does not enforce and that it is OK to do what you want here and you will be rewarded.
I am willing to bet that any people, citizens or not, who showed up at the White House uninvited and acted like they were entitled to live there would be arrested. They would be perceived as a threat and they would be prosecuted accordingly. Well Mr. President, America is our White House and people are coming into it all the time and they are uninvited. Instead of doing the same thing to them that you would do to a trespasser at the White House, you are telling them that it is OK and they will be rewarded.
American citizenship is one of the most cherished things a person can achieve. Many of us were blessed by the grace of God to be born in the United States but many people risk their lives and spend their life's savings to come here legally and do things the right way. When the first act a person does in this country is to break the law, that person is not worthy of citizenship.
Mr. President, the majority of Americans who oppose this amnesty know what is right for America and want to do the right thing. That right thing is to toughen our immigration laws so that merely being here ILLEGALLY is a felony and we want law enforcement to work together to capture and deport or jail (depending on other potential crimes) those who are here ILLEGALLY. The horror of 9/11 happened in part because law enforcement agencies were not allowed to work together.
The way immigration is set up, sir, law enforcement is not allowed to work together to get ILLEGALS out and keep them out. Instead of deporting or locking up ILLEGALS you are locking up border patrol agents who are doing their jobs. To add insult to injury you are giving the real criminals amnesty. We Americans also know that closing our borders is the right thing to do and that no solution to this problem will ever work until we accomplish this. We also know that Ted Kennedy does not have the best interests of America at heart and he has taken us down this road before only to put us on a path to slow death by infiltration. Death is what you get when you let Ted Kennedy drive.
Yesterday was Memorial Day, a day when we honor those who gave their lives in defense of this country. Those brave men and women are spinning in their graves at the thought that they gave their lives to defend this nation only to have politicians in DC give it away. They must be heartbroken that this country is being overrun and will be taken over without a shot ever being fired.
If you listen carefully on a quiet night Mr. President, you can hear the tears of those interred at Arlington National Cemetery. Our war dead weep for this once great nation and the inability of its leaders to protect what they willingly died to preserve. Considering their fate, who can blame them for expecting more from our leaders?
As an American citizen I am entitled to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Consider this petition an exercise of my First Amendment right. I encourage others to exercise this right as well.

A short recon of what’s out there that might draw your attention.
Wow, great post. I used to think history would look back at President Bush very favorably, but if this immigrtion bill passes I will have to take that back.
Like you said, I have also supported the president to the end on the war on terror, I believe it is a noble fight, but this issue may be the undoing of legacy he hopes to define.

So we need to “wipe out” mainstream Islam? Is that all? What’s needed to wipe out one of the world’s largest religions? Is that like Hitler trying to wipe out the Jews or is their a more compassionate method of extermination you had in mind? How long do you think it’ll take? 6 more months or 60 years? How much more money shall we devote to wiping out mainstream Islam? $500 billion? $500 trillion? What about troop numbers? Will we do it by ourselves or will the Coalition of the Willing roll with us? Will we have to leave the guys in Iraq behind and form a new army to take care of mainstream islam elsehwere or shall we just extend the tours of our existing forces and task them with this as soon as they deliver freedom and democracy to Iraq? I assume you’ll be wiping mainstream Islam out from the comfort of your home office?
Your solution – wiping out mainstream Islam – is sort of vague. Some people might accuse you of not having any real solutions.
Have you given this any thought whatsoever or is this just more thoughtless bluster?
Sorry. I don’t mean to be a jerk, but if you’re going to post crap, expect to be called on it.
What people call Islamic Extremism is actually what a majority of Muslims think and feel. Recent surveys show a majority of them think suicide bombings are OK especially to advance Islam. The tenets of Islam dictate that they spread their religion and people will either convert, live as a dhimmi, or be killed. This is written in the Koran and it is preached every day by Islamic Imams not only in the Middle East but all over the world. The desire of Islam is to take over the world just as they tried many centuries ago. This convert or kill expansionism is how they got the Middle East as territory, it used to be Christian land but many Christians and Jews were wiped out by the Muslims and people hacked to death by the sword. This is the reason the Crusades took place. Despite what you hear from the Muzzies, the Crusades were a response to their expansionism (and they should have continued until Islam was eliminated).
The words were used to show that saying Islamic Extremism is a way to make people think only a small portion of Islam thinks this way, untrue. The attitude is pervasive. To wipe it out we need not kill everyone as you suggest with your liberal prattle, we need to cripple them and take out the leaders of the so called extremists and then ensure that any type attack upon us is met with swift, deadly action so that those who might still desire to spread Islam understand it is not worth what they have to pay.
I don’t expect you to understand, not everyone understands Islam or listens to their Imams. Not everyone reads the Koran or reads history books. But, those who do would appreciate if you would stay our of the way while we protect ourselves and keep quiet until you understand the enemy.
Read The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades. Then get a Koran and read it, read the passages cited. The book is full of violence and mandates for Islamic domination of the world. You might want to allow that but I don’t.
Why didn’t you say that “wiping out mainstream Islam” only required killing every such leader in the religion around the world. Again, you make it sound so easy. You also make it sound like there is a finite # of them. Is there 100? 10,000,000? And then we need to “cripple” them, huh? That explains a lot.
Regarding the Survey of Muslims you are referring to above, try reading Glenn Greenwald’s recent post comparing the responses to similar questions of Americans to Muslims. I realize it will require that you build up the courage to venture outside of your gated virtual community and try to actually learn what other people think, but you might find it interesting that:
“Among four key predominantly Muslim countries — Iran, Pakistan, Egypt and Indonesia — the percentage which believes that there is never any justification for violent attacks on civilians is between 77-84%. By extremely stark contrast, the percentage of Americans who believe that such attacks are never justified is only 46%.”
You can read the post here:
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/05/25/torture_violence/index.html
By your criteria, we probably have even less justification to “wipe out mainstream Islam” and should perhaps worry that Americans believe something so extreme.
This is why Ron Paul is the best Republican candidate. He realizes we aren’t perfect and that we don’t have any right to wage wars on choice on others to try to make them little Americas.
When you start quoting Salon you have lost your argument. You are quoting a guy who says that evolution is scientifically proven and creation is patently false when evolutionists have created phony “evolved” things in order to try to prove it and no one has disproved creation. As a side note, if evolution is real, where is an evolved species that man has seen. We have been around a long time. Don’t you think a creature would have been in the process and we could have seen it?
Anyway, as far as it goes the only research one needs do is read the Koran and listen to the Imams. The Islamic religion is violent and hell bent on world domination and their holy book lays it out. It is the duty of all Muslims to convert or kill. As for the 77-84%, and yet they still do it a lot and when it happens millions of these animals celebrate in the streets.
How many of these people denounce it when it happens and how many of them chastised Ahmadinejad for saying he wanted to wipe Israel off the map which is killing innocent civilians.
Where you make the mistake is either ignorance or blind hatred for America. The question was about innocent civilians. Most Muslims believe we are all combatants. They do not look at the citizens of Israel as innocent citizens and they do not look at Americans as innocent civilians. When they are asked about killing 3000 people on 9/11 they say that the people were not innocent that all Americans are the enemy.
Learn about Islam because you are well on your way to learning it by force, becomming a Dhimmi, or being killed.
And, we do not have to kill them. As far as I am concerned we can pull back to the borders and let the three religious factions kill each other off. We can go in and take care of the survivors.
They attacked us and that is all need be said. What we need is for the pussies to get out of the way and let us finish up so we can come home.
BD,
could not have said it better myself, as always you are right. I sign you petition and had some family members to do the same.
Back to “they attacked us” again? I assume you’re referring to al Qaeda. So you’re saying al Qaeda = Saddam Hussein = Hezzbolah = Iran = Syria = Indonesia = Shiite = Sunni = “mainstream Islam”. It sounds like you’re calling for holy war yourself.
Has it ever occured to you that maybe we could fight terrorism without fighting an entire religion? I think that’s why the military is saying when they say that the war on terror doesn’t require a military solution only. It also requires a political solution. I suppose in your mind though, if the world’s police (us) blow up enough stuff, we’ll eventually “win”. You have clearly given this a lot of thought and are far more expert in the subject of Islam and human nature than I am.
I’d be curious to know exactly how Islam is going to dominate us over here in the US. One of these days you should lay out your scenario. I doubt it would be a “Red Dawn”-type scenario since most Muslim countries lack the reach to invade us with conventional forces. It seems improbable to me that after an terrorist attack that suddenly Americans would convert to Islam, as well. It’ll take them generations to infiltrate the US government and take it over (Executive, Legislative, Judiary). Maybe there is another angle that I’m not considering.
Last note, so you refuse to consider anything Greenwald says because he believes in evolution? I suppose that’s one way to close your mind.
No, I don’t listen to Greenwald because he is writing for Salon, is a biased liberal, and was writing his opinion. When he insults a large portion of society when making his point, he loses credibility. I don’t have a closed mind. It does not do me any good to read people who do.
al-Qaeda attacked us, they invoke their religion, their Koran, and their beliefs by quoting their scripture. bin-Laden calls on all Muslims to rise up and fulfill their duty. Hezbollah, Hussein, Iran, Syria et al invoke their religion and quote their Suras to justify killing people around the world. Islam has been killing people for more than 20 years we have just failed to acknowledge what it is. YES this is a war against a religious ideaology, regardless of what people want to call it.
You are missing a lot. While Americans call wars lost after 6 months and become frustrated with a lack of clear victory or because our troops are not home, Muslims fighting for Allah have 100 year plans and are patient. They realize they will not be alive to see the plan fulfilled but are happy with their part of it. They will come to America, set up groups like CAIR who sue for everything and make people afraid to report crimes. They will shout Islamophobe every time a Muslims is accused EVEN IF THE MUSLIM IS GUILTY. They will excuse illegal Muslim activity while pointing fingers and non Muslims. They will run for and get elected to office, have Muslims days and months in our schools so our kids can learn how “wonderful” it is to be a Muzzie and they will take over our courts, and our government by having increasingly larger Muslim populations that elect Muzzies. They will recruit from prisons and convert a lot of criminals into Islam and they will use our stupidity (of letting millions of Mexicans come here illegally) and recruit MS 13 to provide nuclear material in order to detonate one or more bombs in the US in order to strike fear and panic.
We might not be alive when it happens but we are alivce as the seeds are being sown.
We could fight terrorism without fighting an entire religion but it is extremely difficult to find terrorists who are not from that religion and whose religious leaders do not sanction their behavior.
I see. We have come full circle.
So we need to wage war against mainstream Islam by killing their leaders (numbers unknown), around the world, and then we need to cripple the religion thru unspecified means. All of this will be accomplished at an unspecified cost to America in military resources and financial resources. Well, BD, that’s a realistic and helpful solution. I could have gotten something as ill-conceived and ridiculous from a 5 year old – or from George Bush himself.
And Muslims = al Qaeda = Saddam = Iran = Hezzbollah = Indonesia = Syria = Saudi Royal family (and Bush family business friends) are taking over America with a nefarious 100 year plan, are they? I suppose they’re behind the “war on Christmas”? It’s probably time to prepare the camps so that we can carry out your exterminationist plans when the time is right.
