My Plan To Help Special Olympian Obama
by Big Dog on Mar 20, 2009 at 15:43 Political
Barack Obama insulted millions of special needs people when he made a comment equating his bowling skills to the Special Olympics. I know that Obama did not mean to insult people but he could not help himself because he is a Democrat and they say things without thinking. The only thing that I have supported with Obama is his scrapping of a plan to charge the private insurance of veterans for service related injuries. That idea should never have been considered. As an aside, I think General Shinseki was smart to float it early. I originally thought he was advocating it but it now appears as if he let it out to build opposition.
I know that the liberals have been upset calling the Republicans the party of NO and saying that we do not support The Evil Won. I am going to rectify this now by, to use an overused phrase, extending an olive branch to Obama.
Here is how The MEssiah can make it up. There is a Special Olympian who says that he can beat Obama at bowling. I have no doubt of that because the Olympian, Kolan McConiughey, has thrown 5 perfect games. Kolan McConiughey has challenged Obama to a bowling match.
Here is where the olive branch comes in. Barack Obama should accept the challenge and they should set it up as a pay per view event. They could set a date for August when Congress is in recess (the time of the year when we are the safest) and promote the event.
These two can meet to bowl the match, a 3 game event, to see who is the best. The proceeds from the event can go to the Special Olympics. This is a win-win for everyone. Obama will save face, McConiughey will get the chance of a lifetime and the Special Olympics will get a lot of money.
This is a perfect way for Obama to turn lemons into lemonade.
There, don’t say I never tried to help the guy.

Most excellent. Now let’s see how Obama handles lemons.
The lemons will probably all rot when he touches them as the economy has done.
He has hurt many families in America. He needs to say he is sorry in the public, not to some organization.
During the campaign for the White House in 2008, the media criticized Palin for being ‘common,’ and ‘not presidential.’ However, compare Sarah Palins attitude in this video created three weeks ago for the Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho.
You decide the more ‘presidential’ among them:

First: what Barbara??? You need to go to the Special school of economics.
Second: He was on a “Late Night” (i.e. not politically correct) comedy show!!! What’s next? Every SNL skit needs to carry an apology for whomever may be offended? Or, how about law restricting the use of the term “towel-head” by stand up comedians?
Third: The Special Olympics exist for people who are cognitively underdeveloped to engage in activities and sports for fun and a sense of accomplishment for their own growth and happiness. All that matters is that they enjoy it! I have yet to hear some mass outrage on the part of the Special Olympians themselves. How about we see what they think?
Lastly: It was joke about himself!!! By no means was it a malicious attack meant to emotionally abuse participants of the Special Olympics. People who want a president who has to watch every word spoken for fear of offending someone better find a new planet. You think Washington, Lincoln or FDR worried about that bullshit? No, they worried about what really matter…like protecting America from those Towel-heads and retards! Ha
Ben,
Obama should not be on comedy shows. He is the chief executive of the country and should act like it. The towel head by comedians is an apples to oranges comparison because Obama is not a comedian. Would you have been OK if he had used Towel Head or Nigger or Spick or Wop, or any other disparaging word simply because he was on a late night comedy show?
He attempted to make a joke about himself but it was in poor taste and he insulted a lot of people. This is no different than Kerry calling the military uneducated people. It might be meant as a joke but it bombed.
Politicians would do better to leave comedy to comedians and do what they were elected to do.
Though I have to admit the joke is that Obama thinks he can actually lead.
