Racism At The NAALCP
by Big Dog on Jul 20, 2010 at 05:02 Political
Last week the National Association for the Advancement of Liberal Colored People (NAALCP) passed a resolution condemning racism in the TEA Party and stating that the TEA Party had to disavow its racist elements. The TEA Party, despite claims to the contrary, is not a racist organization and there are no racist elements. George Soros tried to show the racist side by airing an ad that has a supposed TEA Party member proudly claiming to be a racist. The entire video, the one from which Soros chopped the piece, shows TEA Party members condemning the man and telling him he is not part of them and that he does not represent their views. They had to use deceit in order to show a racism that does not exist.
And who is the NAALCP to call out the TEA Party? I did not see any resolution condemning the New Black Panther Party, a group of black men who all happen to be racists. The NAALCP is selective in its approach to shouting racist because it is trying to gain some kind of relevance or meaning. It was once an important player in the fight for civil rights but has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party. The NAALCP injects racism into most elections in order to drum up votes for Democrats. It has been reduced to the dealer in a game of race cards.
The ironic thing is that the NAALCP has had plenty of speakers who have uttered racist things. The members routinely call conservative blacks “Uncle Toms” and sell outs and their assessment of white America is nothing but rants about racism.
Even more ironic is that during the very week the NAALCP was passing its anti TEA Party resolution videos were presented that showed a federal appointee under the Obama administration, Shirley Sherrod, telling an audience at an NAALCP event that she engaged in racism. She went into great detail to show how she had neglected helping a farmer because he was white and how she passed him off to a white lawyer, or as she put it, one of his own kind.
Andrew Breitbart once again came through with the video and he posted it on his site, Big Government. The video is damning. Here is what we heard:
“The first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm, he took a long time talking but he was trying to show me he was superior to me. I know what he was doing, but he had come to me for help. What he didn’t know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was, I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him,” Sherrod said.
“I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farmland, and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land. So I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough,” Sherrod said. “So that when he, I assumed the Department of Agriculture had sent him to me, either that or the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and he needed to go back and report that I did try to help him.”
In the video, Sherrod also spoke of referring the white farmer to a white lawyer, thinking the latter would be more sympathetic because of race. “So I took him to a white lawyer that had attended some of training that we had provided because Chapter 12 bankruptcy had just been enacted for the family farm. So I figured if I take him to one of them, that his own kind would take care of him.” WCBSTV
So far the left and the NAALCP (redundant, I know) have struck out. Soros tries to show TEA Party members as racist but the uncut video shows the truth and TEA Party members attack the racist who shows up at their event and the NAALCP condemns the TEA Party racism but can’t show racism and uses a now discredited story (read lie) about black members of Congress being spat upon and called the N word. There is no meat to the story and the resolution is baseless. It was only issued to help Obama and the Democrats by increasing tension among the races.
We do know and have absolute proof of racism from the New Black Panthers and from someone speaking at an NAALCP event. I certainly would not paint the entire black community with the racist brush based upon the New Black Panthers racist views but I would expect the NAALCP to condemn their acts just like TEA Party members condemned the racist shown in the Soros ad. This is what a true civil rights organization would do.
I would also expect the NAALCP to make sure its house is in order before it starts making claims about any other organization and when it does decide to make accusations I would expect it to have some proof.
The NAALCP allowed a racist to speak at its event. It did nothing to condemn the racist and it made no apologies for the racist language used. In short, it failed to do what it resolved for the TEA Party to do and that is to condemn the racist elements of its organization.
Big difference is that we have proof of the racism at the NAALCP but there is none associated with the TEA Party. And if you see a racist sign keep in mind the left has people who made no secret of their plans to infiltrate events and act like racists. You are gonna need more than a few signs. Video proof like Breitbart supplies would be good, if you can find it. But leave the Soros doctored stuff at home.
Another very funny thing about this event is that Sherrod also says that there are jobs at the USDA and that people of color should apply for them because it is impossible to be fired from the federal government.
Today, Shirley Sherrod resigned from the USDA. True, that is not fired but we all know she was allowed to resign in lieu of being fired. The USDA issued a statement and from the words it is clear she could quit or be fired:
“There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. “We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.” Big Government
The only entity we have not heard from since the news of Sherrod’s racist rant is the NAALCP. She made her statements at the NAALCP’s event and she has since lost her job but they have not yet issued a statement about the incident. They have not issued a resolution either.
Perhaps they are too busy issuing a resolution condemning America for calling it the White House…

Even Fox admits what that liar Breitbart won’t:
The NAACP has responded to the story but then pulled the response because the whole video or a transcript of the speech has not been released. Let’s ask the liar Breitbart why his website hasn’t released more than a few minutes or a transcript of the whole speech.
I like how Mark Williams “refudiated” the NAACP’s suggestion that the Tea Party needs to denounce it’s racist elements by writing a racist blog post. You’re doing it wrong. Of course Williams insists he’s not one of those racist elements the NAACP is referring to and he’s just getting smeared. Right.
It’s one thing to argue the movement at large is not racist as Biden did this week. It’s another to suggest there are no racist elements at all. How much longer can you keep suggesting all the worst elements of the movement are simply liberals trying to take you down?
There is no need for the whole video. The part that shows the racism is there and is all we need. Do you and the NAALCP mean to suggest that there is some context where this is appropriate? Whould you have the same feeling if the person saying it were white and the farmer black? I know the NAALCP would be up in arms.
As for showing only a portion of a video, why do you defend the indefensible and yet ignore the liar Soros and his ad that shows people saying racist things when the entire clip shows TEA Party members telling the guy he does not belong and does not represent their views.
There are racists in any group. Your beloved Democrat party is full of them though you fail to see it. All groups have people like this and they are usually outliers. As far as it goes, people who show up at TEA Party events and spout racist things are sent packing. And since a group of liberals has vowed to show up and act racist then we will use them as long as they hold that position. They said they would do it and it is happenening. Your job is to show these people are part of and sanctioned by the TEA Party. The whole story shows this not to be true.
As far as Williams goes, I do not agree with the way he voiced his objection but you failed to mention that his post was satire and labeled as a letter from the NAACP to Abe Lincoln. Even people with a public education should have been able to see that it was not meant to be taken seriously.
I would not have done it if only to prevent the NAACP and people like you from trumping it up. That satire is racist while the NBPP intimidates voters and calls for the murder of crackers and their babies and you ignore it.
The NAACLP is irrelevant and is nothing more than a race baiting center for the Democrat party.
Not entirely clear, to morons. It was clear by the way she spoke and what she said. Send him to his kind…
Funny how her words are not entirely clear but a letter to Abe Lincoln as satire is clear as a bell racism…
“Do you and the NAALCP mean to suggest that there is some context where this is appropriate?”
For the record I think what she did is offensive and wrong. I just don’t think she should have been condemned, demonized and forced to resign for her actions without all of the story. This is a classic Breitbart half-story though. He’s a big fat partisan liar and everybody knows it but that doesn’t stop you from promoting his lies.
Context is everything here. How long ago did this take place? Is she bragging about what she did or is she telling a story about a mistake in judgment she made for which she regrets? Was this before or during her time with the USDA? How can you think you know enough to judge just from a few seconds and say the rest isn’t useful?
Take the late Senator Byrd as an example. If you chopped up a clip of him telling a story about what he did with the KKK you could get outraged over any number of things. You might think he did that recently as a Senator or that he doesn’t regret what he did. You might think he was bragging about it. With full context we know that it was something he did a long long time ago for which he grew to regret deeply and spent the rest of his life making up for it.
Find the whole video or a transcript and you’d be in a better position to pass judgment.
“Your beloved Democrat party is full of them though you fail to see it.”
No. Apparently you keep forgetting I’m from the South where I see racists everywhere from both sides. Still, I can’t help it if the most blatant cases of racism always seem to involve your side of the isle.
“…you failed to mention that his post was satire…”
Oh, I’m sorry. I keep forgetting that on your side it’s OK to be racist, sexist, or insensitive to the disabled…AS LONG AS you label it satire. Or if that fails just say it was a liberal pretending to be a conservative. It’s such a confusing and illogical world you live in but I try hard to keep up with the rules as much as I can.
It reportedly happened 24 years ago and the wife of the white farmer supports her and thanks her for her help. That does not negate the fact that she admitted that she did not do as much as she could have because he was white and that she sent him to one of his own kind.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am all about people learning from their mistakes and learning from life lessons. I do not think she should have been forced by the Obama regime to resign. But I also know that Imus should not of been fired. He made a comment as a quip and the race baiters went nuts and he was fired. It is not my side that is full of the racists, it is that you fail to recognize the racism. The NBPP case is cut and dry but Obama has ignored it, can’t go after blacks for doing whites wrong. We know Obama is a racist because he has a typical white grandmother and he told us in his book that this is just how white folks will do ya. You all ignore that and the Reid, Clinton, Biden comments.
Sherrod was held to the same standard as a Republican would have been. Trent Lott made a harmless comment to a man on his 100th birthday and your side blew it all out of proportion. So spare me the sanctimonious BS.
As for the liar Breitbart, he showed us what racism is when the NAACLP was passing resolutions about TEA Party members being racist. He showed us what video evidence is and how the black Congressment lied about the N word and being spat upon because the only video evidence there shows it did NOT happen. This lie is one that the NAALCP based its resolution upon. It passed the resolution because it is on orders from Obama to help him out.
But tell me Adam, where is your outrage at the Soros ad that presents a sound bite of a guy from a TEA Party event proclaiming he is a proud racist which is used to show us the racism in the TEA Party which was deliberately taken out of context. The whole video shows people telling him to leave and that he is not a member and does not represent what they do in the TEA Party. Where is YOUR outrage? You attack Breitbart and leave Soros alone.
It is your rules that need to be adjusted. I have a simple set, do what is right. You have a rule that says the ends justify the means…
Oh, I’m sorry. I keep forgetting that on your side it’s OK to be racist, sexist, or insensitive to the disabled…AS LONG AS you label it satire.
Did you have trouble reading the part where I said I did not agree with it and would not have said it? Does that sound to you like I said it was OK?
I just want you to explain how it is that when your side makes the comments and they are said in earnest you all dismiss them as a joke or intended to mean something else but when a man clearly writes something that is intended to be satirical you call it racism. How is it Obama can say that is how white folks will do ya and not be racist but this guy clearly wrote an item to display that the NAALCP is actually the organization trying to go back in time and you call him racist?
Oh, I am sorry, there are two sets of rules. The ones that says anything goes for Democrats and the one that says all things are evil if a Republican does it.
Hypocrite.
And answer about the liar Soros. I am hoping he gets to pass hi smoney on to his kids tax free this year. I have a lot of Dems I am hoping get to do that as well…
“Sherrod was held to the same standard as a Republican would have been.”
You still don’t get it. Context is everything. For some reason you like to remove all context and motive and lay everything out neatly as if one offensive statement is as equal to another when it’s not.
Obama didn’t say anything racist. He was talking in context of how he once felt not anything he believes today. We’ve been over this before of course.
It appears that Sherrod’s statements were about actions long ago much like Obama and according to her clarification of the speech she was stating the event as something she did that was wrong which she no longer believes was appropriate in any way. We’d know more if we could see more of the speech.
Biden’s two comments were offensive to many folks but not overtly racist and he was speaking in a positive manner and not trying to tear anybody down.
Imus said negative, offensive, unwarranted things that cast the subjects in a negative light. I agree he should not have lost his job though. An apology and clarification was more than enough.
Trent Lott said an offensive and racist thing right then and there while in power that he agreed with. He absolutely should have lost his leadership position.
Williams has a history of racially charged statements about Obama and Muslims and his “satire” is just the latest example.
“Where is YOUR outrage? You attack Breitbart and leave Soros alone.”
I attack Breitbart just because you cited him as a source and he’s a documented liar and a partisan hack. Soros is no better with his equal but opposite partisan agenda. Yet, when I cite Soros as a source of anything feel free to call me a hypocrite but until then you can’t just make up things you think I need to be outraged about.
“You have a rule that says the ends justify the means…”
You know that is not true in any way but you keep repeating it over and over and taking my past statements out of context. Stop lying.
Of course you know I am not lying.
I think the lady was revealing an incident in her life that changed her and that she no longer feels that way, mostly. She did say it was about black and white but not as much as poor and well off.
The key is, the NAACP painted the TEA Party with a broad brush that same week and then had to see an incident discussed in their house, an incident that shows black racism exists. It blows away their world.
The funny thing is everyone says they were snookered by FOX and FOX did not do anything but post the video. Glenn Beck defended her.
I think she should not have lost her job.
And Imus apologized a number of times and to the team itself. It was an off the cuff remark that he gave no thought to and no one can say he had a racist intent when he said it. And he said ONE thing.
Trent Lott only said the world would be better had the man been elected. People assumed he meant because of the segregationist policies. He was giving an old man a compliment and nothing he said was, how did you put it, overtly racist.
Show me how it was any more overt than what Biden or Reid said…
Where is that outrage from the NAALCP and you over Jackson and Sharpton? They have a history of racism.
You see, when the post racial Obama and his peeps play the race card it comes back to burn them.
“…an incident that shows black racism exists. It blows away their world.”
That’s pretty weak. The NAACP never suggested any such thing. It doesn’t blow away anything. Somehow now the NAACP has to give the same amount of attention to past examples of black racism that it is giving to current examples of white racism inside the tea party movement?
“Show me how it was any more overt than what Biden or Reid said…”
Had the Dixiecrat party stood for anything other than opposition to civil rights you might be able to make the case that Lott meant something else about Thurmond’s election. Lott’s words were incredibly callous and obnoxious and he deserved everything he got for saying them.
If you think that still somehow compares to Biden and Reid’s statements about an articulate clean black man then you need to think some more about this subject.
“Where is that outrage from the NAALCP and you over Jackson and Sharpton? They have a history of racism.”
They also have a history of real work for civil rights in America. I’m sorry that you think a few questionable comments or racial slurs makes up for a lifetime of work. It doesn’t. They owe apologies to anyone they offend but they aren’t to be lumped in with racists like Lott and Thurmond.
Of course, Adam can read their effing minds because Adam is a genius. Imus has done a hell of a lot more for disadvantaged kids than Sharpton and Jackson added together and Sharpton went after Imus’ job. But I know, Adam is the arbiter of everyone’s life and knows what they were thinking and when they were thinking it.
So let me ask you, if Byrd had this fleeting association (as in years or decades) with the KKK but he repented (he still hung on to racism for a long time) and that makes his life good, how can you condemn Lott and Thurmond when they were not involved in any racist acts for decades?
Are you saying that it was OK for people to assume what Lott had in his heart because of past associations and beliefs (whether he actually had them or not) and to go after them for a harmless comment but it is wrong to do the same to Byrd who we should forgive and look at as a man who repented?
Oh yeah, you are the real fair man you are. And talented enough to look in the heart and mind of another person as well.
Well, if you can read minds so can I. Reid and Biden were saying that most blacks are dirty and lack intelligence but Obama is a clean one, one of the good ones.
No racism there.
“Of course, Adam can read their effing minds because Adam is a genius.”
Sorry. You’re just losing it a little now. No need to read minds, just look at the records.
“…how can you condemn Lott and Thurmond when they were not involved in any racist acts for decades?”
To my knowledge Thurmond never showed regret for supporting segregation. He did however support pieces of civil rights legislation which mutes that point a little.
Lott is a different story though. Between 1982 and 1994 Lott voted against extension of the Voting Rights Act, the MLK holiday, voted to defund it later, and voted against the continuation of the Civil Rights Act. He made the statement about Thurmond decades before as well so his phony apology can go right in the trash.
Adam, racism is racism- it doesn’t mean one thing if it comes from Biden’s mouth and another if it comes from, as you are fond of saying(without attribution) from Rush- it is STILL racism.
So the NAACP is a racist organization- because you cannot, (and THEY cannot) SHOW BLATANT RACISM on the part of the TEA Party- drawing mustaches on pictures of Obama do not count.
The true point is that there are racists everywhere- sad, but true, and they are in the Obama administration, and NAACP, and some in the TEA Party- but I can tell you, as one who has attended rallies, we ask the overt racists to leave, because they do NOT represent us.
And if you are going to smear Lott and Thurmond, you can lump Byrd in there also- how do you know he truly repented? He might have been lying- he was, after all, a politician. So is the racist Jesse Jackson, and the lying racist Al Sharpton. Gotta mention them also.
It is NOT IMPOSSIBLE to be a racist if you are black.
Here is the full video if you care to watch.
I saw the full video earlier but thanks.
Bunny, do you actually think you will get past moderation with that attitude?
Did you play with any kids today?
School’s out for summer, genius. Did you change any bedpans today?
Care to comment on this link?

I figured with the slow learners and their affectionate Mr. Bunny, you would be doing camp outs and sleep overs.
No, I do not handle bedpans in what I do, why are you hungry.
So, the people became friends with her. That is fine and dandy. It does not negate the fact that on the week the NAALCP condemns the so called racism of the TEA Party they have a video of a woman speaking at their event admitting to being, at one time, a racist. No condemnation there.
I expect the NAALCP to be fair and balanced. Call out all acts. They ignore the NBPP while calling out the TEA Party and the basis of the resolution is the discredited (read lies) of a Congressman who claims he was spat upon and called the N word. If the NAALCP actually helped the black community instead of being a shill for Democrats and Obama then the situation in that community might improve and the NAALCP might have some relevance.
But why do that? It is easier to blame whitey.
Any comment on the kill the crackers and their cracker babies comment from king shabazz? Or is that not worthy of a resolution.
Her story isn’t that racist in context. She felt she represented blacks and not whites in her position but she figured out later how wrong she was.
Breitbart is shown to be a liar once again by posting an out of context video that even has a factually incorrect intro text.
Too bad the USDA fell for his lies and forced her out. We lost an awesome representative for the poor thanks to hateful right wing morons.
Adam, it was the morons on the left that forced her out- there was NOONE on the right who did.
Breitbart’s video(s) were not out of context- the left has always had trouble listening (and seeing) with comprehension.
“I figured with the slow learners and their affectionate Mr. Bunny, you would be doing camp outs and sleep overs”
There you go again, Doggie. I choose to work with underprivileged children rather than make more money elsewhere, so I must be a pedophile? Good thinkin, Dog! No wonder you never went for the M.D.
Who is “king shabazz”? Is he that “colored” friend of yours that you once posted a rambling video of?
I was going for the idea that they are more on your intellectual and social level but you went right to pedophelia.
What does it say about you?
The fact that you either refuse to recognize, (or are too ignorant to look it up) the ruckus regarding king Shaspazz and his threats to the white population (outright racism, at least to rational people), indicates that you are a true TOOL of the left, and little else.
Regarding Mz. Sherrod, I do not feel that she should have been fired, but then I also do not think Breitbart edited the video- he just didn’t show all of it- but FOX news DID- and yet the Moronic Association of Colored People chose to condemn HER, before they had even viewed THEIR OWN TAPE. Now that IS moronic.
Add to that Tom Vilsack, who did the same thing, and what you have here is an attempt to throw Mz. Sherrod under the bus, just so FOX News and every other conservative outlet, INCLUDING the TEA Party might be smeared.
It matters not to them whether they are right- just that the ends justify the means.
Now that is both petty and dishonest.
