It isn’t bad enough that the MSM deliberately avoids mentioning the party of Democrats involved in scandal but now Republicans have taken some for the media away from the Spitzer issue by having one of their own. At a time when Republicans are trying to convince America that they are careful with money, a scandal comes forth involving a Republican who embezzled money from the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). Christopher Ward served as treasurer at the NRCC and there are indications that he has funneled as much as one million dollars away from the NRCC and into his own endeavors.

Since this happened at the NRCC there is no way that people will not know it was a Republican involved. Not that they should because all criminals, regardless of party should be punished severely, but even if it were not the NRCC the MSM would be leading every story with the word REPUBLICAN.
Of all the stories that have been written or broadcast about Spitzer very few mentioned his party but when they bring up past sexual trysts they are sure to mention the Republicans who were involved. They failed to even mention any of the Democratic liaisons when they were looking at past episodes. Spitzer was (and will be) a big story but the Republicans could not spend time ensuring that people knew he was a Democrat. Instead, they have to figure out how they failed to have an audit for five years and how Ward duped them out of money.
Ward should go to jail for what he did as should Spitzer (with regard to the crimes other than using a prostitute) but it would have been much nicer if the Republicans could have kept off the front page for a while.
Nearly all politicians seem to be corrupt and party is not a determining factor. The only difference between the two is that Republicans call for resignations and criminal charges for anyone involved while Democrats only feel that is acceptable with Republicans who break the law. Democrats defend their own and say it is no one’s business or they give awards to those involved in the crimes. The Democrats fought hard to keep Bill Clinton in office and fought just as hard to get Foley and Craig out.
Let me be clear, they all should go. Bill Clinton should have been gone (for the perjury and the inappropriate relationship) and the others should have been tossed as well, no matter how it had to be done.
However, even though they all should go it would have been nice if the Republicans could have stayed out of the spotlight for a while…
I guess misery really does love company.
