Someone Other Than Bush To Blame
by Big Dog on Aug 6, 2011 at 08:31 Political
Barack Obama likes to blame George Bush for everything but there is no way he can pin the downgrade of the US credit rating on Bush. For the first time in our nation’s history our credit rating was downgraded and it happened under Obama.
Obama will have to find someone else to blame and I think he will blame the TEA party. He needs someone to blame and he needs to discredit the TEA party because they stand to make big gains in the next election. Obama, his Democrats, and RINO Republicans need someone to blame for their mess. TEA party members of Congress had it right all along and made it clear that failure to enact large and http://www.onebigdog.net/yeah-bush-was-treated-with-kid-gloves/ cuts would do nothing for the debt and would result in a downgrade of our credit rating. It was an easy call because the credit agencies told us that without at least 4 trillion in cuts we would be downgraded.
The cuts were not big enough and we were downgraded. Don’t blame it on the TEA party, blame it on everyone else but the TEA party because everyone else ignored what was going on and played politics as usual. Their arrogance allowed them to ignore what was taking place and in the process they gave us a “deal” that screwed us over.
So as you hear Obama and others blaming the TEA party for the credit downgrade keep in mind that if we had done what the TEA party wanted we would not have had our credit rating downgraded. The only plan that actually helped was the plan the TEA party wanted. It was dismissed by the lifer politicians and the liberal/Socialists and now we will pay dearly.
The credit rating of the US was downgraded for the first time in history and it happened on Obama’s watch. There will be finge pointing as it gets blamed on the TEA party. We will also likely hear the pundits downplaying the importance of the downgrade. They will try to play it down but that might prove difficult because they were telling us, just last week, how Armageddon would arrive if a debt deal was not reached and our credit rating was downgraded.
As you hear all of this keep in mind that it was Obama and his policies along with the career politicians from both parties that created this mess.
But it happened on Obama’s watch and the blame lies solely with him.
Is there any doubt now that we need a balanced budget amendment?
Cave Canem!

“But it happened on Obama’s watch and the blame lies solely with him.”
Really now? I wouldn’t blame Obama or the TEA Party. I blame the GOP leadership in the House for holding the increase hostage and refusing to bend when it comes to a balanced approach to tackling the debt. I can suggest the TEA Party never should have voted in a GOP majority but that doesn’t excuse the GOP from governing with some common sense. But elections have consequences. Sometimes our people elect idiots into Congress and this time they have an R by their name.
Also though, to suggest the TEA Party had a plan that would have helped us is a laugher. The TEA Party knows NOTHING about the economy and you can tell this by how you folks call for massive cuts at a time when our GDP is hovering between 0% and 2%. We need to cut spending over the long term and raise taxes over a shorter term to change our debt trajectory. It’s that simple. The majority of Americans want to raise taxes slightly on the rich but don’t tell the TEAhadists.
“Is there any doubt now that we need a balanced budget amendment?”
You still realize that no matter how many times you say it a BBA is no more feasible now than it ever was? It will not work, ever. It’s a distraction. It’s like calling for a federal marriage amendment. It’s never going to happen but it sure excites the base.
If the Ryan Budget haad been enacted, we would NOT have been downggraded, but everyone BUT the TEA Party is addicted to spending, and they just kicked the can down the road.
It would have been far better to hold out for what this country needed, rather than vote for the watered down package we gave bari- now he gets to spend mo’ money, ’cause it’s ALL about the benjamins with him. He spends like a drunken lotto winner, and on WHAT?
Nothing he has spent money on has yielded rresults- go ahead, Adam- look at any metric- they are all bad for your guy.
And the biggest idiots in the room have a D beside their name-
We have tried the long term cuts and short term tax increases many times in the past. The taxes stay up and the cuts never happen. If they did we would not be in the situation we are in now. You and your ilk can parrot the balanced approach (focus group phrase?) but the reality is that the ratings folks said we needed to cut 4 trillion and Ryan’s budget does that. Does not know about the economy? Several of those folks are economists (as that MSNBC host about that, will ya) and yes, a BBA would make government work within its means. We need it because politicians are incapable of spending only what they have. They keep spending.
Obama owns this and he has spent a lot more than Bush ever did . You can blame it on Bush which is funny, you say his policies and spending bled over but then reject that fact about Clinton and 9/11.
It is not fun here? I guess not since all you do is spout liberal talking points and look for ways to blame Bush for things he has no responsibility over. It belongs to Obama. Why is it that for every president the buck stops here but for Obama it is pass the buck?
Didn’t the notice of the downgrade say exactly that?
I hope to God that American voters will not swallow the swill being peddled right now by all the Dems and the complicit mainstream media.

Reid: S&P downgrade backs Dems’ call for more revenue
By Jamie Klatell – 08/05/11 10:24 PM ET
Standard & Poor’s decision to downgrade the nation’s credit rating reinforces Democrats’ call for increasing tax revenue, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Friday.
They have mush for brains. As far as I can see.
“Obama owns this and he has spent a lot more than Bush ever did.”
Keep repeating that lie. You may even believe it yourself. I don’t know if it’s better to be delusional or better to be a complete liar. You cannot point to any combined number of Obama policies that account for our debt situation. You’re just flat out making that up but it’s an easy lie to tell since no one on here that is conservative will ever call you on it.
“…you say his policies and spending bled over but then reject that fact about Clinton and 9/11.”
Yes, because spending does do that? And because 9/11 happened not on Clinton’s watch but on Bush’s? See, it’s not fun here because you make irrational statements like that one. You’re not even trying to make rational arguments anymore.
HAHAHA irrational? Policies, even non monetary ones, bleed over. The fact that Clinton could have killed OBL at least 3 times and did not allowed him to plan and execute 9/11. Therefore, Clinton’s policies bled over to Bush’s term. But you justify by saying it happened on Bush’s watch so it belongs to him.
Yep, and the credit downgrade happened on Obama’s watch and it belongs to him. To think otherwise given your own words would be the irrational statement.
Stimulus, a trillion dollars. And yes, Obama’s deficits are more now than all of Bush’s combined.
Adam calling a conservative a liar is a hoot! And then he “proves”it by saying no one here will call him on it! Ha ha! Sorry, porky, we are calling you a liar. You do know the meaning of the word, “lie?”
It means to say what isn’t true, knowingly or not. By the definition of the word “lie,” you are the liar.
The current economic problem was not caused by politicians or citizens being too conservative. By the definition of the word “conservative,” there is no way socialist short-term greed can be blamed for the economic mess.
Proof once again that liberals should be barred, by an act of Congress, war or God, from being in positions of power over other people. They are not mental, sexually or physically fit to lead.
Heck, they can’t even follow worth a dang.
Lets look at one of “Adam’s” claims. Just one; take Obama’s spending. Any government spending that is higher than revenue. That is the core of the problem, right? Too many hands and not enough pockets. How, just how does adding more grasping hands and creation of more empty pockets indicate that blame is on, “GOP leadership in the House for holding the increase hostage and refusing to bend when it comes to a balanced approach to tackling the debt?”
The GOP wants to borrow less, and cut spending…and that is NOT balanced!
So I assume that to you, “balanced” means bigger debt and less jobs and more taxes and more bankruptcy and lower standard of living and a loss of the nations high credit rating.
To Adam, that is “a balanced approach to tackling the debt.”
There is an election coming. Every politician who supported this lunacy should be run from office.
And every liberal rounded up, stripped of every cent he has, ever will have, as compensation for electing such criminals into office.
Then every liberal should be barred from the process of voting, for life.
Make them live in a culvert under an over-pass.
Because these problems, from poor schools, high taxes and enemies in our midst, are all caused by liberal policy, all caused by liberals. Every one of them. There is some liberal lunacy at the core of every social problem in the entire world.
So, your response to a credit rating downgrade is massive wealth redistribution, welcoming enemy attack, forcibly relocating a hundred million people, and changing our government from a republic to a one-party state.
That’s not conservative. Or sane.
Stimulus is the only solution we know for a slow economy.
To Obama, that means pump more money, raise the debt level and let the kids sort it out in years after he is not in office.
He isn’t the first to do this.
And it was obvious Washington was going to do this. Spend our way out of debt. Because that is the problem; debt. Nothing new there. It has been building for almost 100 years. “Asymptotic” curve is the shape, or exponential for the simple.
Means, “It grows faster the bigger it gets.”
The problem for financial markets is less the spending itself, and more the fact that the spending isn’t actually stimulative at all.
That is my main beef with liberals, across the board, Obama at the top; Stimulus is the only solution, and throwing money at it is the only stimulus he can think of.
But there are other ways to stimulate the economy. Plenty. Have a war, for instance. But conservatives know that the best stimulus is for the government to get it’s hand out of business, lower taxes, remove regulations and laws that block economic growth, and reduce the amount of money the government spends.
Conservatives also know that the word “hostage” is not applied to demands for austerity. It is more accurately used by politicians to protect pet-projects and spending that promotes their personal welfare. Like, without these “projects,” they wouldn’t be elected. Liberals and Democrats are almost all elected to provide something for a specific group, be is welfare, social economic aid or union protection. Projects that do not benefit all people equally, which is what true Democracy is supposed to do.
When the government can not treat all people the same, they should stay out of the picture.
If the “stimulus” from government actually stimulated, I would support it. But no logical, rational person can contemplate supporting Obama and the Democrats, the RINO’s, the media idiots, the Adams who can’t see that they are wrong. There will be pain. People will hurt. The economy will shrink. Revenue will go way down.
But the key to recovery is to save the system that created USA economic power in the first place, not to save the system that is killing it.
Liberals, proving again they are not fit to lead.
Sorry Ferd. It’s not a lie unless you knowingly say something untrue in order to deceive. Of course you’d know that if you’d taken the time to look something up. Don’t worry though, no one around here looks anything up. You won’t look like a fool to them.
Of course you cannot show where I have lie but I can show where demonstratively false statements are made time and again on this site without a conservative questioning it whatsoever. Either you are all deluded or you’re all liars. Which is it? Because you’re absolutely wrong in your facts.
This isn’t about arguing what we should do such as how to handle poverty, how to handle taxes. That’s a worthy debate and one I’d take part in day and night. The truth is the conservative conversations on this site have little need for fact or reason but you do talk a big talk about fact and reason as if simply saying it makes it so.
So Ferd, this is probably the last time I’ll reply to you and your comments and I’ll recommend you do the same to me. That has worked out well for the other readers of this page that can’t deal with reality or read for comprehension. We shouldn’t waste each other’s time anymore.
As far as Adam is concerned no one here makes statements without looking things up because to him the only references that matter are the liberal references based in liberal ideology. If you espouse something different then Adam thinks you lie and make false statements. The other problem is that even when Adam is presented with facts he dismisses them. Cite the US Government’s own numbers and he will point to some Media Matters article as the gospel on the subject. The reality is that Adam discounts any information that does not agree with him. He has been indoctrinated in college that the liberal/Socialist ways are the ones to solve debt problems. His professors have never shown him how those things have failed in the past.
Now that his messiah has given us the only credit downgrade in our history he has to blame it on others and tell us that Obama is blameless. Obama knew it was going to happen as did many in Congress but they still ignored the credit agencies.
“The other problem is that even when Adam is presented with facts he dismisses them.”
I don’t think you understand that what you consider facts are not actual facts. Don’t fling poo on my wall and then get mad when I scrape it off and throw it away.
“His professors have never shown him how those things have failed in the past.”
Funny stuff. Funny how despite knowing me for so long you always fall back on these stereotypical arguments. You understand of course that I was a computer science major and that politics during college was a hobby and not part of my education?
I know in your view college is just a constant blend of learning revisionist liberal history and socialism blended in with classes on how to lie with statistics and how to organize political riots.
My education was about 95% computers, math, and physics. These were classes taught by professors who probably didn’t even vote in elections because they were too busy playing on their computers let alone indoctrinate their students in class. I didn’t have the luxury of learning politics that some degrees in college give you.
I don’t think you understand that just because you do not agree with them does not mean they are not facts. You have been presented with plenty of sources for a number of arguments here and you say they don’t count or you argue that MM or some other source is full of actual facts.
Flings poo? Come now, you know that you come here and spout some nonsense because HuffPo or MM or MoveOn said it and then treat it as fact. Hell, you were one of the ones long ago screaming that George Bush was going to reinstitute the draft and still had trouble with the issue when it was demonstrated that the call for the draft was put in place by a Democrat in Congress.
So just because you disagree with something does not mean it is not a fact. Just because you show a counter point from a liberal site does not mean it is a fact and all other items are not.
So if you did not learn this stuff in college then my statement that your professors have never shown you how this has failed in the past is an accurate statement. If they NEVER showed you anything my statement is correct.
As I recall, you spent your time running around protesting with your liberal loony friends. If you did not learn anything and just went along because of what they told you to do then you are not too bright, now are you?
