Obama Cuts Defense and Adds Illegals

I have had a go around with several people who claim that Resident Obama is actually increasing Defense spending. It is true that Obama has increased the budget 4% but he took the war funding, which was not part of the Defense budget (it was funded from other sources) and placed it under Defense but the money did not go with it. This means that The DOD will have a budget cut.
As has been reported, the 4% increase in defense spending proposed by Secretary Gates is actually 4% less than what the Joint Chiefs of Staff wanted; and, if taken alongside the fact that this budget attempts to fold in spending previously funded by supplemental war budgets, the supposed 4% increase is actually a $8 billion cut in defense spending. The Army is worst hit by folding supplemental spending into the base budget, as it was receiving the most ad-hoc funding for Iraq and Afghanistan. Ace of Spades
Ace goes on to explain this for those who care to look at it. It is easy to understand but in DC math this is considered a budget increase. It definitely is NOT.
While all the grenades are being lobbed around by the bumbler in chief, he continues to throw so many things at the public that it cannot keep up. On top of the economy, the omnibus, the trillions in spending, the 90% taxes to punish people whose contracts were honored, Iranian rockets, North Korean missilesm bows to kings, ACORN and the census, shooting pollution into the sky to cool the planet and all the other distractions, Obama is now ready to make millions of ILLEGALS into citizens.
Drudge is reporting that the New York Times will have a page 1 story tomorrow on Obama’s plan:

It is time to gear up for a big fight. We cannot allow millions of lawbreakers to become citizens. They broke the law and we need to get rid of them when we find them. We cannot afford to have these blood sucking leeches be rewarded for breaking the law. You get more of what you reward and if we reward these people with citizenship then we will get more and more ILLEGALS coming here expecting the same deal. The amnesty that was provided two times before was billed as necessary to take care of the problem and it would never have to happen again. Now we are looking at millions more becoming citizens, being rewarded for breaking the law.
I read somewhere that immigrant groups (the ones that work hard to help illegals) had John McCain at some meeting looking for his help on this issue. I remember that they all left without a warm and fuzzy feeling because McCain indicated they were on their own. I believe he told them that they made their choice by picking Obama and they needed to go to him for what they wanted.
If I am not mistaken, McCain was basically telling them that he put his neck out for them during the last amnesty debate and bucked his own party which ended up costing him political capital. His message was, I was there for you and in the election you overwhelmingly supported Obama so go ask him for help, don’t come to me.
If that is true then maybe McCain finally got the message. We need to be tough on this. Pay close attention because this is all about politics. Democrats want to increase the number of votes they receive and they can do that by rewarding ILLEGALS with citizenship. Any member who votes for this needs to be voted out of office in 2010. They need to know that is what their vote will cost them.
We will see how this pans out when the NYT publishes the article.

Hillary Finally Takes a Position

Hillary Clinton finally took a position on issuing driver’s licenses to ILLEGALS (she calls them undocumented) by declaring that she agrees with New York Governor Spitzer’s decision not to issue them. Hillary sort of supported his position when he was going to issue them, then said no, then say yes and left it at a maybe. Since Spitzer has finally decided the Hildabeast figured it was OK to take a stand. She also indicated that, as President, she will not issue driver’s licenses to ILLEGALS and that she will fix the immigration problem in America.
The President is not the person to fix these things. Congress is the body that is supposed to come up with bills that address these kinds of issues. After it is worked out it is sent to the President to be signed into law. The President can tell Congress how he wants things and they can work together but the biggest thing the President gets to do is sign it into law or veto it. Hillary Clinton will have little success with immigration if the Congress does not act. She had a better chance of doing something as part of the Senate and yet I can’t seem to find any bills she has authored to address the problem. The only thing she has done is criticize GOP efforts to toughen criminal laws regarding ILLEGALS and blame the Bush administration for a problem caused by Democrats long before he ever took office. In fact, Bush and Congress tried to ram amnesty down our throats and Hillary voted for that plan. She wants to give them licenses but not until she gives them amnesty. Hillary Clinton votes to help ILLEGALS.
I am sure this is not the last we have heard on this issue. If a poll comes out in a few weeks indicating that Hispanics are supporting another candidate and they cite this stance as the reason, Hillary will change faster than you can shake a stick.

Niki Tsongas Shows True Colors

Immigration is the big issue in the race between Niki Tsongas and Jim Ogonowski in Massachusetts. The special election will take place Tuesday to fill a vacant seat. I wrote previously that a guy named Atkins who made some very low remarks and brought Jim’s deceased brother into the mix. Tsongas has tried to distance herself from Atkins’ remarks but when one considers that his ex-wife is working for the Tsongas campaign, the question must be asked; how sincere is she? One thing is for sure, she follows the John Kerry/Ted Kennedy and (fill in a number of names here) position on immigration. Tsongas believes that ILLEGALS should be allowed unfettered access to this country and she thinks people who oppose ILLEGAL immigration are racists, as trumpeted by her unofficial mouthpiece, Mr. Atkins. I received this from a friend and I thought I would post it here:
I don’t know how much talk radio you listen to however Niki finally showed her true colors without her Washington advisors [sic] at her side. Niki labeled illegal immigrants as “Undocumented workers” or “Family members….or whatever.” [Video] (“Nightside with Dan Rae,” WBZ-Radio, 10/11/07) One of the main issues Ogonowski has been running his campaign on is illegal immigration, and finally Tsongas has created a clear distinction between the two candidates for the voters – she’s just “whatever.” I doubt the voters in Massachusetts will appreciate a valley girl as their legislator. Massachusetts’ voters and the United States Congress does not deserve another candidate who will shy away from real issues like illegal immigration and attempt to redefine these people as “Undocumented workers,” they deserve Jim Ogonowski. She also believes these “Family members” deserve in-state tuition, as she alleges “They came here unintentionally.” [Video] (5th District Congressional Debate, NECN, 10/05/07) Perhaps Tsongas should be running on the same ticket as New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, as she “Supports driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants and ‘path to citizenship’ for illegal immigrants.” (Laura Crimaldi, “5th District Candidates All Fired Up,” The Boston Herald, 10/14/07) Perhaps this is what Tsongas is really like without her suave Washington advisors [sic] – not a pretty image. Ogonowski is a real candidate who is worried about real issues. Merely calling these illegal immigrants “Family members” or “whatever” will not help solve one of this countries greatest domestic policy issues. A vote for Ogonowski is a vote for change and new ideas; whereas a vote for Tsongas is a vote for her calculating Washington DC advisors [sic] – take your pick.
If you are eligible to vote in this Massachusetts district it is up to you to vote for Jim Ogonowski and keep Niki Tsongas out of office. Massachusetts needs a political outsider like they can get by electing Jim. Neither that state nor the country needs people with the views of Niki Tsongas. Keep in mind, Massachusetts has all Democrats running it at the federal level. They have had a long time to get things right and yet they have failed. Jim Ogonowski is a breath of fresh air and will help right that once great state.
