Obama Blocks Media From Media Award Presentation
Mar 21, 2009 Political
The National Newspaper Publishers Association named Barack Obama as its “Newsmaker of the Year.” Ironically, most of the media will be shut out of the award ceremony.
The LA Times reports that the man who promised the most transparent administration will shut out most media, unless the media involved is part of the federation of black community newspapers. Seems a bit strange that the media would be banned from an event that presents an award from the media but that is what The Evil Won has decided.
The representatives of the federation of black community newspapers will present the award in what appears to be a cowardly move as defined by Attorney General Eric Holder. It was Holder who said we are a nation of cowards who spends its off time with like people and refuses to discuss race. Obama is spending his time with like people and shunning those of different colors. Holder says that is cowardly.
I suppose that Obama is wary of words spoken at such an event. Perhaps people there end up sounding like Jeremiah Wright. That would be a disaster for Obama.
Another irony is that the LA Times, the paper complaining about the lack of transparency, sat on a video it possesses in order to help Obama. The video reportedly shows Obama engaged in anti Semitic behavior at a party for one of his radical college professor friends.
The LA Times shut out the American people and now the LAT is being shut out.
The liberal LAT has espoused the liberal positions of Democrats for a long time so they should be pleased with this decision.
Just call it affirmative action newspaper access.
I wonder what would have happened if George Bush had received an award and invited all press except the federation of black community newspapers.
Can anyone say Sharpton in the streets?
