Will ACORN File For Bankruptcy?
Mar 21, 2010 Political
ACORN, the community rabble rousing group that works to elect Democrats and to support Obama’s agenda, is on the verge of bankruptcy. This is great news! The corrupt organization has been caught committing one crime after another and using taxpayer dollars to do it.
After public attention focused on their criminal deeds Obama and Democrats distanced themselves from the group. Perhaps it is because the group’s illegal activities helped elect some of them (Franken).
But now the group is in financial trouble and preparing to file for bankruptcy protection.
Good, I want to see this group go out of business and not be allowed to reconstitute under some other name.
As for all of their workers who will be out of work, screw them. They can go on Obama unemployment. At least that government welfare would be cheaper than the government welfare we have been giving the organization for all these years.
And to think, we have a couple of courageous young people to thank for this because they did the job the lame stream media refuses to do.

No One Wants To Listen To Liberals
Jan 22, 2010 Political
Air Amerika, the liberal radio station launched to counter conservative talk has had financial troubles since it started. Liberals have trouble attracting an audience to listen to they pap the spew. The station has finally gone belly up:
Air America Radio, a radio network that was launched in 2004 as a liberal alternative to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative commentators, on Thursday shut down abruptly due to financial woes.
The network once boasted hosts such as Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, but struggled from the outset, including multiple management shake-ups, a bankruptcy in 2006 and sale for $4.25 million the following year.
Air America ceased airing new programs Thursday afternoon and said it will soon file to be liquidated under Chapter 7 bankruptcy. It began broadcasting reruns of programs and would end those as well Monday night. Yahoo News
Perhaps the liberals ran the station like they run government, figuring the money will come from somewhere.
They learned a hard lesson and that is if no one wants your product you will go out of business.
Once again capitalism ends up with a correct decision.
Unless, of course, the government decides they are too big to fail and bails them out.

The Obama Hustle
Dec 17, 2009 Political
Back during the era of Disco (what were we thinking) there was a song called The Hustle. Obama and I are roughly the same age so I imagine that must have been his favorite song because he is hustling the American public.
During the campaign Obama vowed to take on the pharmaceutical companies. Dana Milbank of the Washington Post recounts this campaign pledge and the way that Obama broke his promise:
On the campaign trail, Barack Obama vowed to take on the drug industry by allowing Americans to import cheaper prescription medicine. “We’ll tell the pharmaceutical companies ‘thanks, but no, thanks’ for the overpriced drugs — drugs that cost twice as much here as they do in Europe and Canada,” he said back then.
On Tuesday, the matter came to the Senate floor — and President Obama forgot the “no, thanks” part. Siding with the pharmaceutical lobby, the administration successfully fought against the very idea Obama had championed.
“It’s got to be a little awkward,” said Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.).
I wrote earlier that the Democrats will do anything to get their health care takeover bill passed and I gave examples of the thuggish tactics used. In this case Obama flat out broke his promise in order to advance his signature legislation.
All Obama promises come with an expiration date and this is no different. He broke another promise in order to get what he wants (though that is still a long way off). Obama sided with Big Pharma over the people he pledged to help in a manner reminiscent of old style politics, the very kind of politics he vowed to put an end to. Another promise broken.
Obama is now using scare tactics to get this passed. He told Charlie Gibson that if we do not pass his bill that will lower costs, the country will go bankrupt under the weight of health care costs.
President Obama told ABC News’ Charles Gibson in an interview that if Congress does not pass health care legislation that will bring down costs, the federal government “will go bankrupt.”
This is basically true if there is no sensible reform (which I have discussed in detail) but under the bills being considered right now the country will most assuredly go bankrupt.
The government runs Social Security and Medicare and both of them are unsustainable. The unfunded liabilities are almost 100 trillion dollars for these programs and the cost continues to go up. There are many reasons for this but one is that Congress took all the money that was supposed to be in a “trust fund” and spent it while leaving worthless IOUs. The money is not there and we have no way of getting it back.
The plans being debated will cost an additional 2.5 trillion dollars and will not pay for themselves. Government has shown with the two previously mentioned programs that it is unable to run things efficiently. The costs for these two programs are well above what anyone ever estimated they would be and the cost of health care will be the same.
This is not about health and it is not about care. It is about control over our lives.
Obama might have telegraphed the danger we are in with the health care takeover when he said this:
“it’s clear we are on the precipice of achievement that’s eluded Congresses, presidents for generations — an achievement that will touch the lives of nearly every American.” Pajama’s Media, Roger’s Rules
Webster defines precipice as: 1 : a very steep or overhanging place; 2 : a hazardous situation; brink.
It is obviously not number 1 so it must be number 2 and that one is appropriate for this issue. This bill is the brink of a hazardous situation because it will add trillions to our deficit and it will cost more than we can pay. It will increase the costs of health care for the average consumer and premiums will go up. There will also be rationing and long lines. Obama told us what to expect and though, as I pointed out above, his word is not exactly his bond, on this one I think he is correct.
The Senate Bill will be coming up for a cloture vote soon and Senator Bill Nelson of Florida was on Greta’s show discussing the bill and laying out why he will vote for it. The meetings that have taken place behind closed doors have resulted in some concessions to his state (and a few others) which remove the burden off Medicare recipients there. He also indicated that Medicare will be made solvent by cutting reimbursements to doctors, nurses, and hospitals. In other words, the Senate expects these people to work for less than it costs to treat people or, in some cases, for free. Obama has stated that the way to control Medicare costs is to cut payments to those providing the care. He called it a “safety valve.”
How many doctors or hospitals will continue to accept Medicare patients if they cannot get paid adequately for their services? How many will drop Medicare patients for the same reason?
Maybe we should consider cutting salaries to members of Congress.

Liberals eat their own
Jun 28, 2009 Political
In the run up to a vote on a healthcare bill that would break the bank, (at least the one that exists in liberal minds), several Democrats are finally beginning to have reservations about where the money is coming from- questions they truly should have voiced six months ago, when all this tax and spend action began.
Ben Nelson, Diane Feinstein, Mary Landreiu, have all been the targets of MoveOn. org and other socialistic organizations, including the SEIU, the union that does the cleaning in hotels, empties the trash, etc. This would be richly entertaining, but for the deadly seriousness of the situation our government finds itself in- besieged by special interests on the left. Lobbyists are creating attack ads against the members of their party that these Special Interests have deemed to not be in sufficient lockstep with the more liberal and socialistic among them.
The attacks — ranging from tart news releases to full-fledged advertising campaigns — have elicited rebuttals from lawmakers and sparked a debate inside the party over the best strategy for achieving President Obama’s top priority of a comprehensive health-system overhaul.
The rising tensions between Democratic legislators and constituencies that would typically be their natural allies underscore the high hurdles for Obama as he tries to hold together a diverse, fragile coalition. Activists say they are simply pressing for quick delivery of “true health reform,” but the intraparty rift runs the risk of alienating centrist Democrats who will be needed to pass a bill.
In recent days — and during this week’s congressional recess — left-leaning bloggers and grass-roots organizations such as MoveOn.org, Health Care for America Now and the Service Employees International Union have singled out Democratic Sens. Ben Nelson (Neb.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Ron Wyden (Ore.), Arlen Specter(Pa.) and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) for the criticism more often reserved for opposition party members.
washingtonpost.com
I don’t know- did it not used to be that a person’s opinion was their own, and while one might disagree, one also respected the freedom to express said opinion? Well, apparently, according to MoveOn.org, not so much anymore. If a member of the Democratic Party is suspected of not toeing the party line very tightly, they are targeted for punishment. How communistic of you, comrade- I am sure your fellow travelers are wondering if the path they have chosen is worth the deceptions they have been playing on the American public.
The Web-based MoveOn.org plans to run ads this week against Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) over the issue.
“The Democrats were voted into office to fix this problem,” said MoveOn political advocacy director Ilyse Hogue. “It is absolutely our job to hold them accountable.”
One Democratic strategist who is working full-time on health reform was apoplectic over what he called wasted time, energy and resources by the organizations.
The strategist, who asked for anonymity because he was criticizing colleagues, said: “These are friends of ours. I would much rather see a quiet call placed by [Obama chief of staff] Rahm Emanuel saying this isn’t helpful. Instead, we try to decimate them?”
washingtonpost.com
Now that some of the Democratic party is beginning to have doubts, we will see the true nature of this beast we now call Liberalism. As the surrogates for Hussein, the MoveOns, the SEIUs, the ACORNs of this world ramp up their hate to whip their fellow dupes in line, the rest of America will be witness to the raw power grab this has become, as these people do all they can to subvert the Constitution by making laws designed to go around the Constitution’s true intent.
Will enough people wake up and heed the call to action, the urgent need to come together to save our Constitution? The Constitution has been there for us, in good times and bad, it has saved us from our excesses before, but never before have we been put to sleep with rampant consumerism, sitting in front of our flat- screen TVs, tuning out the real world, because it doesn’t fit into a half- hour sit- com.
Thomas Paine wrote of kings and royalty, “Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.”
Strong words- he could as easily have been talking about our “royalty” of today- the liberals who are pushing this suicidal agenda.
They are indeed, Legends In Their Own Minds, nightmares in ours.

Obama Will Finish What Osama Started
Feb 15, 2009 Political
Osama bin Laden is not a stupid man and his plan to attack America was brilliant from a tactical standpoint. He could never hope to beat this country in a head to head fight so he used airliners to kill nearly 3000 of our countrymen. He became emboldened when Bill Clinton withdrew from Somalia after the Blackhawk Down incident. Osama believed that America was a paper tiger. He never expected the response that we gave him.
He attacked us on 9/11 but that was the opening salvo in a protracted war. Bin Laden’s real goal is to bankrupt America. His belief is that he engaged the Soviets in Afghanistan for 10 years and they went broke fighting. He believes that he can do the same thing to America. The big difference is that the major part of his plan will not play out on the battlefield. No, bin Laden banked on us spending a fortune to keep our country safe and he was right. We have not been attacked since 9/11 but we have spent a fortune keeping safe. Many times when we needed to spend money 9/11 played into the thinking and the amount of debt we incurred was great.
Bin Laden was banking on us spending and spending while he sat back and watched us go bankrupt. Despite tax cuts and increased revenues we continued to spend more than we took in. The deficit rose and, as Pastor Wright would say, our financial chickens came home to roost. Years of policies like the Community Reinvestment Act came back to bite us in our hind parts.
As a result we have been in a recession, not the worst of all time and not the worst since the Great Depression despite what the Sainted One has said. He and his minions have their talking points and part of their job is to scare people into submission. Terence P. Jeffrey at the Washington Times has a great piece describing this rhetoric. He lays out the numbers which refute the claims made by those hell bent on our economic collapse.
Claims Mr. Obama, “We have inherited an economic crisis as deep and as dire as any since the Great Depression.”
But the historical figures for the gross domestic product (GDP), calculated by the U.S. Bureau Economic Analysis, say something else. After growing by 0.9 percent and 2.8 percent in the first two quarters of 2008, GDP declined by 0.5 percent and 3.5 percent in the third and fourth quarters of the year. Is that “an economic crisis as deep and as dire as any since the Great Depression”?
Well, 1949 was far worse. GDP declined by 5.8 percent in the first quarter of that year and 1.2 percent in the second. It rebounded by 4.6 percent in the third, but then dropped 4 percent in the fourth. America did not start an irreversible decline that year. In 1950, the economy grew by an amazing 17.4 percent in the first quarter, 12.5 percent in the second, 16.6 percent in the third and 7.5 percent in the fourth.
In 1953-54, there was also a downturn worse than the one Mr. Obama “inherited.” GDP declined by 2.4 percent in the third quarter of 1953, by 6.2 percent in the fourth quarter and by 2 percent in the first quarter of 1954.
The rhetoric about catastrophe is nothing more than the politics of fear that Obama railed against during the campaign. He is ignoring history and sound policy in order to advance an agenda designed to funnel taxpayer money to his special interests. Many have claimed that Obama made a mistake by letting Pelosi and Reid write his plan but I believe his decision was calculated in order to give him plausible deniability. He stayed above the fray while the large number of Democrats in Congress were able to absorb the blow. They are already unpopular so why tarnish the Messiah?
We cannot spend our way out of the problem. Obama and his sock puppets keep saying that the stimulus plan is a spending bill because that is the point. If spending is stimulus then we should not have a problem because George Bush and Congress spent a lot of money. Using Obama’s logic we should have an unemployment rate of 0%. He blames George Bush for doubling the debt and causing the economic collapse (that did not cause it) but then says that the way to solve the problem is to spend more and go deeper into debt. If what Bush did caused it, how is doing more of what Bush did going to fix it?
Obama’s future generation bankruptcy plan will increase inflation and unemployment while doing little to stimulate the economy. During the times discussed by Jeffrey, the country was able to rebound fairly well after each of the past problems and none of them involved spending a TRILLION dollars. Passing a small, targeted stimulus or letting this play out is not in the cards because doing so would deny the Democrats the opportunity to take advantage of this crisis and get what they want. There is no doubt that this is what they did just as Rahm Emanuel said they would.
The unfortunate thing is that Obama and the Democrats are aiding and abetting the enemy. Osama bin Laden said he wanted to bankrupt us and he certainly got us to spend a lot of money.
Barack Obama is hell bent on finishing the job bin Laden started by saddling future generations with monumental debt.
One
Big
Assed
Mistake
America
If Obama takes control of health care he will probably force everyone to take one of these. He will need to in order to get reelected because this plan will bring nothing but bad memories.
