Obama And Reid Holding Gun To Our Heads
Oct 15, 2013 Political
The mantra from Obama and his minions has been that the Republicans are holding a gun to their heads and they [Democrats] will not negotiate. They want a clean continuing resolution and a clean debt ceiling increase (by clean they mean without condition). The Republicans want a delay in the Obamacare individual mandate so that bugs in the system can be fixed and people will have a year before they are taxed for not having health insurance. This is particularly necessary now that the Obamacare roll out has been a huge failure.
Make no mistake; Republicans also want to delay this so they can work on defunding or repealing. A delay would also push Obamacare up against the 2014 midterm elections. Everything Obama has done to delay has pushed things past that election. He wants the votes before the bad stuff hits.
When Ted Cruz filibustered for 21 hours he made the comment that unions were trying to get a delay in Obamacare and that delay had been rejected but he (Cruz) suspected that once the budget was taken care of the delay for unions would not be far behind. Obama wants to help his union buddies but he does not want to do so until after he gets what he wants.
Funny thing because the clean CR the Democrats scream for is not so clean now and the gun being held is in their hands and against our heads.
When Harry Reid said he would not pass anything but a clean CR he only meant clean by Democrat standards. That means he gets to add what he wants, he gets to set the terms and he expects the Republicans to just do it. The newest deal calls for a delay for unions.
Say it isn’t so! The clean CR would actually be dirtied with a provision that would help the unions out. Reid and Obama REFUSED to delay the individual mandate for everyone else so much so that they shut the government down.
Yes folks, contrary to what the liberal media are telling you, Obama and Reid shut down the government. Harry Reid rejected a CR that delayed the individual mandate and then he rejected a CR that removed all waivers and forced Obamacare to be implemented as passed.
They rejected the first because they do not care about the individual and they rejected the second because Democrats do not want to have to fall under Obamacare like everyone else is required to do. Get that? Obamacare is good enough for you but not for members of Congress and the special groups Obama has granted waivers to.
[note]I know members of Congress are required to sign up under the exchanges. The issue is that they were required to do it based on the subsidy (which none would be eligible for) and not receive the employer contribution. This is the law as they passed it. Obama had the rules changed to allow the taxpayer to foot 75% of the bill for members of Congress and their staff. This is why government shut down. Democrats do not want to follow the law they are forcing on the rest of us.[/note]
So the CR is not so clean and the union exemption is not the only thing the Democrats are pushing. They want to do away with the sequester cuts and increase the debt limit another 1.2 TRILLION dollars. That’s right folks, King B. Hussein Obama is not content with accumulating more debt than nearly all other presidents combined, he wants to make sure he has spent more in his tenure than in the entire history of this nation.
This tactic will undo the things Obama agreed to the last time the debt ceiling was raised. The sequester was an axe over the heads of Congress to come up with a plan. This was a deal struck in order to raise the debt ceiling the last time. Congress failed to act and the sequester cuts took place. Now Obama and his Democrats want to undo all that in this go round.
So the clean CR and clean debt ceiling increase is not so clean after all.
Never trust a Democrat. They lie and they will screw you every chance they get.
If the Republicans cave and allow this without getting AT LEAST the delay in the individual mandate then there needs to be a new Speaker of the House.
And a lot of Republicans need to have primary opponents.
Remember what Obama said when he was a Senator and George Bush wanted the debt ceiling raised:
Mr. President, I rise today to talk about America’s debt problem.
The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies.
Over the past 5 years, our federal debt has increased by $3.5 trillion to $8.6 trillion. That is “trillion” with a “T.” That is money that we have borrowed from the Social Security trust fund, borrowed from China and Japan, borrowed from American taxpayers. And over the next 5 years, between now and 2011, the President’s budget will increase the debt by almost another $3.5 trillion. Numbers that large are sometimes hard to understand. Some people may wonder why they matter. Here is why: This year, the Federal Government will spend $220 billion on interest. That is more money to pay interest on our national debt than we’ll spend on Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. That is more money to pay interest on our debt this year than we will spend on education, homeland security, transportation, and veterans benefits combined. It is more money in one year than we are likely to spend to rebuild the devastated gulf coast in a way that honors the best of America.
And the cost of our debt is one of the fastest growing expenses in the Federal budget. This rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy, robbing our cities and States of critical investments in infrastructure like bridges, ports, and levees; robbing our families and our children of critical investments in education and health care reform; robbing our seniors of the retirement and health security they have counted on. Every dollar we pay in interest is a dollar that is not going to investment in America’s priorities. Instead, interest payments are a significant tax on all Americans — a debt tax that Washington doesn’t want to talk about. If Washington were serious about honest tax relief in this country, we would see an effort to reduce our national debt by returning to responsible fiscal policies.
But we are not doing that. Despite repeated efforts by Senators Conrad and Feingold, the Senate continues to reject a return to the commonsense Pay-go rules that used to apply. Previously, Pay-go rules applied both to increases in mandatory spending and to tax cuts. The Senate had to abide by the commonsense budgeting principle of balancing expenses and revenues. Unfortunately, the principle was abandoned, and now the demands of budget discipline apply only to spending. As a result, tax breaks have not been paid for by reductions in Federal spending, and thus the only way to pay for them has been to increase our deficit to historically high levels and borrow more and more money. Now we have to pay for those tax breaks plus the cost of borrowing for them. Instead of reducing the deficit, as some people claimed, the fiscal policies of this administration and its allies in Congress will add more than $600 million in debt for each of the next 5 years. That is why I will once again cosponsor the Pay-go amendment and continue to hope that my colleagues will return to a smart rule that has worked in the past and can work again.
Our debt also matters internationally. My friend, the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, likes to remind us that it took 42 Presidents 224 years to run up only $1 trillion of foreign-held debt. This administration did more than that in just 5 years. Now, there is nothing wrong with borrowing from foreign countries. But we must remember that the more we depend on foreign nations to lend us money, the more our economic security is tied to the whims of foreign leaders whose interests might not be aligned with ours.
Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.
I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.
Obama opens by telling us that the need to raise the debt limit is a failure of leadership and he closes by telling us that we are saddling our children and grandchildren with debt. The middle part describes the evils of the money problem. I will point out that all the things he paints as an evil picture with regard to Bush are much worse under him.
We do not have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem and a lot of it involves welfare. The food stamp program went off line this weekend and millions panicked. They then were able to shop without any limit so they spent much more than they had on their cards. We paid for that.
There is a woman who has 15 children by a bunch of baby daddies and she says somebody needs to be held accountable and pay for her children. You get that? She says it is the responsibility of society to pay for the 15 kids she has. Newsflash, if you can’t support them don’t have them. If she had a job she would be too tired to open her legs when she went to bed.
A single mother in Pennsylvania is eligible for $80,000 in government “benefits”. That means she gets more in welfare than a lot of people make working.
We do not have a revenue problem. We have a spending problem and most of it is in the form of welfare. You know, modern slavery led by the taskmasters in the Democrat Party.

Time To Pull The Plug On Obamacare
Sep 23, 2013 Political
This week will be full of back and forth fighting over Obamacare and the budget. Conservatives are trying to defund Obamacare while providing funds for all the rest of the government but Barack Obama and his henchmen in the Senate are holding the country hostage over the failed legislation. Those of us affected by it are in the dark…
A huge majority of Americans does not want Obamacare and they want to be left out of it. Obama and the Democrats (as well as obedient establishment Republicans) are ignoring the will of the people and threatening to shut down the federal government if they do not get their way.
These people want to ignore the majority of Americans on this issue and impose this on them against their will.
Interestingly, Democrats think we should follow the majority opinion when it involves something they want. They falsely claim that a majority of Americans want the gun control they are pushing (this is untrue) and use that alleged support as a reason to impose unconstitutional restrictions upon us.
When the majority actually does favor something (like getting rid of Obamacare) they ignore the will of the people.
Obamacare is a failure, period. More than half of the lawful deadlines have been missed and Barack Obama has illegally changed the law to benefit businesses and his buddies (the Executive cannot change a law unless there are provisions for the changes in the law, otherwise, only the Legislative can change the law).
Obamacare is so great that Obama has exempted a great number of organizations who do not like it (most of whom supported it). The law has even been changed in order to keep Congress and Congressional staffers from participating.
The law they passed is good enough for YOU but not for them. Democrats are fighting attempts to ensure the law is followed and that Congress is not exempted and they are receiving help from Republicans who do not want it either. I do not blame Republicans for not wanting it because none of them voted for it. However, the law is the law and if it passed and must be followed by the rest of us then they should not be exempt.
I feel sorry for the millionaires in Congress who can’t afford health insurance on over $170,000 per year but they are just going to have, to quote Obama, to eat their peas.
Efforts to ensure Congress must follow the law are also aimed at Chief Justice John Roberts. People want him to have to be in Obamacare since he ruled it Constitutional (actually he changed the law by rewriting it which is not the job of the Legislative Branch).
It appears as if the people who work for us are having trouble doing the jobs they are authorized to by the Constitution and are too busy involving themselves in things they do not belong in.
The Republicans can defund this. If the Senate will not get on board then the House should send single bills to fund other parts of government. The first one should be for Defense to ensure the soldiers get paid (Social Security is on autopilot so people will get their checks). Let the Senate vote that up or down.
Then the House can do that with each other part of government covered in the entire budget. They can make it so nothing can be added to it because it will be a single budget item.
Let Democrats vote each item of the government up or down and hold them accountable.
If Obama vetoes any item then hold him accountable.
These folks are playing games and we are the collateral damage of their petulance.
I know that the brain dead witch Pelosi said there was nothing else to cut from the budget but if they hire me, give me the budget and two months I will have cuts for them.
And since I am not in elected office I can’t be swayed by the desire to get reelected…

It Will Get Worse If We make Them Legal
May 31, 2013 Immigration, Political
The gang of eight and all the other politicians who desire to make the shadowy illegal aliens in America instantly legal keep assuring us that once these folks are out of the shadows they will not receive welfare. In case you live in a cave someplace (which is silly because you would not be reading this) welfare is paid for with tax dollars. People work hard for their money and then some of it is extorted from them by government who then hands it over to those who do not work, cannot work, or are not earning much money.
Welfare was designed to be a social safety net but it has become a wealth redistribution scheme run by the government to keep people dependent on the politicians. Vote for us and we will keep paying you with other people’s money.
There is proof that once illegals are given some sort of legal status they will get welfare. One big one is the Senators who have proclaimed that they will get the money. That pretty much indicates there is no push to ensure it does not happen.
Another good indication is that billions of dollars in taxpayer money is spent on welfare that goes to people who should not get it. People in prison are getting checks. People who are dead continue to get checks that their families are undoubtedly spending. There are billions of dollars wasted in the welfare scheme.
Another strong indication that those newly legal people will get our tax dollars is the fact that many of them are getting our tax dollars as ILLEGALS.
A woman in Florida who is in this country illegally and has been for at least 20 years is drawing $240 a month in food stamps and $700 a month in Social Security and she has been getting this money for 20 years. She is 50 years old so that means we have been supporting her since she was 30.
The amount of money she gets and whether or not she can live on it is not material to the issue. The real issue is that she is here illegally and is receiving welfare money.
How in the name of all that is holy can our government claim those illegals it deems to be legal will not get welfare money when it cannot stop the illegals from getting it? This woman is but one example that is surely repeated all across the nation. The linked article indicates that Florida has a lot of food stamp recruiters and they have a goal; to increase federal aid to Florida by a billion dollars a year.
These people are working to get folks on the welfare rolls whether they are lawfully eligible or not.
Our tax dollars are being wasted supporting people who squirt out a litter of children or bring in their families (this woman has 7 people to feed) while we work our butts off to make ends meet.
The members of Congress working on immigration reform say that tax dollars in the form of welfare will not be given to those newly legal people but we all know this is a lie.
We have a problem with illegals for two very basic facts. The first is we have an open border and we refuse to secure it. The second is we give illegals welfare. If we did not pay them our money to come here they would stay home.
It is time to tell Congress to drop all ideas of making these people legal. We need sweeping reform that includes purging all the welfare rolls of people who are here illegally. Couple this with e-verify and workplace enforcement and these people will eventually self deport.
Let’s solve the problem by making them go home rather than making them legal (thus rewarding them for their crime) and paying them to be here.
Enough is enough.

Never surrender, never submit.

GOP Should Not Cave In On Taxes
Dec 12, 2012 Commentary
Barack Obama is certain that the GOP will cave and raise tax rates on the wealthy, defined as those who make more than 250k a year. He might be right because the GOP has a history of caving in. For some reason the party has not figured out it will get blamed no matter what and it continues to try to appease and give up in hope that people will like them and not blame them.
Who gives a rip how people perceive you? If you don’t cave and things get better Obama will get credit and the GOP will be seen as obstructionists. If they cave and Obama gets what he wants and things do not improve the GOP will be blamed. We know this is how it has been throughout history and we also know that Obama is not capable of taking responsibility. He blames everyone but himself for any problem (but he takes all credit for anything good).
Let’s make it clear right now. Barack Obama does not care one iota about doing what is best for the country. His focus is on destroying the GOP. He wants to make political moves that will paint the GOP into a corner so he can score points and he cares not how it affects the nation.
If the GOP caves and raises tax rates on the wealthy then Obama will portray it as an admission from the right that the lower tax rates enacted under George Bush (but only the ones on the rich) were the reason for the fiscal problems. He will say that the Republicans are admitting to it and that is why they had to raise the tax rates. This is already the narrative as Obama claims things were wonderful under Bill Clinton when tax rates were higher. He does not realize that the Clinton years were sleight of hand. He also fails to see that everyone had higher tax rates and that spending was much lower. We still spent too much and we still had deficits but they were nowhere near as bad as they are now.
The Obama plan will net maybe about 100 billion a year over ten years. We are over budget by more than a TRILLION dollars a year (and have been each year of Obama’s occupation). The math does not add up. Obama wants a ten year tax increase equal to the amount he is over budget in a single year.
The problem is not the amount of money coming in; it is the amount going out that is the problem.
We could raise revenue by lowering tax rates on corporations and making a more favorable environment for them to hire employees. If we get millions of people working again then there will be millions more people paying taxes. If we revised the tax code to institute a flat tax then everyone would pay a fair share for the country and everyone would have, to quote Barack Obama, skin in the game.
Half of wage earners pay no federal taxes and the top half pay for the nation. Yes, those in the bottom pay state taxes (in some states) and they pay Social Security and Medicare. Those are called taxes but the reason these programs were started was as a way for people to save for their own retirement. They have morphed into social programs that are nothing more than Ponzi schemes. In any event, these taxes are levied on people for their own retirement. An 11% tax on all earnings from all wage earners could pay the bills and eliminate the need to collect a separate SS and Medicare tax.
The GOP should not cave on this issue. Who cares about the fiscal cliff? The people in Congress along with Barack Obama decided two years ago that they would strike a deal that would force the sides to come together and work something out or draconian cuts would take place and taxes would increase on everyone. Well, they played games, worried about the election and ignored the issue for two years. Now the table is set and the conditions they ALL agreed to are about to come to fruition.
Let them. No deal is better than a bad deal, period.
Let the taxes on everyone go up. Let the SS tax go back to where it was. Cut Defense and let budget cuts across the government take place. Everyone will be affected and those who voted for Obama can feel the pain along with everyone else.
While we are at it we can turn off all the Obamaphones to save some money.
The GOP is worried about how it will be perceived by people not in its base if it does not cave in and let Obama raise the tax rates of the wealthy.
It better worry about how the base will react if the tax rates go up. Tick off the base and you will never win again no matter how many Democrats you make happy.
Ask John McCain how pleasing Democrats works out…
The low information entitlement Obama voters will never support Republicans. That would require work, thought and the ability to learn.
Keep in mind that Romney lost because he said that his plan would put people to work. 51% of the voters said the hell with that and voted to ride the gravy train of welfare.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
Hoyer Wants It All On The Table?
Dec 4, 2012 Political
Steny Hoyer, useless Congressman from Maryland, said that cuts to Social Security and Medicare should be on the table as part of the budget negotiation process. Apparently, a number of other Democrats believe that they should be looked at for spending reductions but should be addressed at a later date. Plink…
That was the sound of the can being kicked down the road.
Hoyer is saying that taking these items off the table is a bad place to start negotiations. He is correct in that and if he is actually serious about having them on the table then the negotiations can begin. However, he is a Democrat and that means he can’t be trusted.
Here is how I see it. Hoyer says these should be on the table and the other Democrats oppose. Republicans jump in and say; “now we’re talking” and then as the negotiations progress the affected constituents are bombarded with negative information from the Democrats who oppose and their lobbying arm at AARP.
The Republicans get blamed for trying to reduce granny’s check and the furor gets louder. Republicans cave, give Democrats tax increases with no real spending cuts because, well you know, they will come later (psst, they never do).
Then Hoyer and the Republican leadership step in front of cameras claiming they tried to do something about these runaway programs but could not so they struck the best deal they possibly could. They will complement each other, slap backs and say they did a great job.
Then they will adjourn for the holidays and Americans will be left with their shorts around their ankles.
Beware of Democrats bearing gifts. How many times do Republicans have to play Charlie Brown to the football holding Lucy before they wake up?
We do not have an income problem. We have a spending problem.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
