Bush’s Fault Democrats Lost
Jan 8, 2011 Political
With the lunatics in liberal land two things are certain. Every weather related item in the world is because of global warming and all the bad things that happen in politics are George Bush’s fault.
George Bush has been out of office for almost two years and has had very little public exposure except when he was out selling his book. The Democrats continue to use this man as a punching bag for every issue that is bad. The bad economy, his fault. The unemployment rate, his fault. Jesus nailed to the cross, his fault.
I just figure that somehow, in liberal land, that too had to be Bush’s fault.
Nanny Pelosi said that the reason Democrats lost in the last election is because of, wait for it, George Bush. According to Nanny, it was the policies of Bush and the compliant Republicans who caused all of this. The other implication is that the only reason Democrats lost is because of the economy.
The Democrats lost because of a number of things and the economy is one of them. It is important to note that Democrats were in charge of Congress, both chambers mind you, when things took a turn for the worse. The Democrat policies of allowing people to buy homes they could not possibly afford were continued and all warnings about the failure were met with Democrat resistance.
Fannie and Freddie were in bad shape and the Bush Administration pointed this out over a dozen times but calls to rein in these two were ignored by many Democrats who claimed they were strong and that nothing was wrong. The Democrats were completely responsible for all of this mess which caused the meltdown (despite what Democrats and their “economists” say when rewriting history).
The reality is, the last election was not George Bush’s fault. Even if we were to accept the blame as true it would not explain why the Democrats ignored the economy and jobs for nearly a year in order to ram the health care takeover bill through. The Democrats focused on those things they needed to ram through while they had the opportunity to destroy the country.
Obama and others acknowledged that they would likely suffer some losses in the midterm elections as a result of the agenda but that the losses would be acceptable in order to get the agenda items passed. It is always those in safe seats asking others to take risk.
The American people do not like the health care bill and they do not like the way in which it was passed. They do not like the out of control spending and they do not like the stimulus. Democrats went full steam ahead on those items and paid the price.
No matter where you sit on the political spectrum, this was not Bush’s fault.
And it was not Bush’s fault that Democrats had to address an economic downturn.
That happened on their watch and it happened as a result of their policies and their unwillingness to rein in their programs.
But this will not stop idiots like Nanny Pelosi from blaming Bush. Which should show just how out of touch she is.
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Gas Prices Up Nothing To See Here
Dec 11, 2010 Political
Remember when George Bush was president and the Democrats took control of Congress? Gas prices started to rise and the Democrats claimed Bush and Cheney were in bed with big oil and causing gas prices to rise. Democrats were in control of Congress when the prices went up (and when the economy collapsed) but they continued to blame the price increase on Bush.
It was a daily ritual for some Democrat to be chauffeured to a gas station a block or two from the Capitol and then leave the car running to keep it cool inside while they got out and railed against Bush and the high gas prices. How many times did the Democratically controlled Congress launch investigations because they believed price gouging was going on? They were livid about the rise in prices and it was all because of Bush, Cheney, and the evil oil companies.
Since Barack Obama has been in office (just shy of two years) the price of gas has gone up about $1.00 a gallon (a 64% increase). I have not seen any Democrats standing at gas stations railing against Obama and his ties to the evil oil companies. I have not seen them launching investigations into gouging by the oil companies. In fact, I have not heard a peep from them about Obama’s rising gas prices.
I did not think Bush had much to do with past prices just as Obama has little to do with them now (gas is a global commodity). But the prices now point to inflation that is heading our way. Keep in mind, they don’t count energy and food when they calculate inflation.
Then again, if Democrats take notice of the rise in prices they will just blame Bush.
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Bush Tax Cuts Were For The Rich
Jul 16, 2010 Political
For a very long time we have heard the Democrats lie about the Bush tax cuts. They always characterize those cuts as tax cuts for the rich. In reality, the middle class and those who pay no taxes made out better than any other group and the rich still pay most of the taxes in this country. That has not stopped Democrats from describing the tax cuts as cuts for Bush’s rich friends.
The Bush tax cuts are set to expire which should not be a problem because the tax cuts were only for the rich. The Democrats have no problem raising taxes, especially on the rich, so allowing the tax cuts to expire and thereby raising the taxes of the rich should be a no brainer for Democrats.
But this is an election year so reality is setting in. The Democrats are now discussing extending the tax cuts for the middle class. In June Steny Hoyer said that tax increases would eventually be necessary in order to get our debt under control but that he expected Congress to temporarily extend the middle class tax cuts:
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Tuesday that tax increases will eventually be necessary to address the nation’s mounting debt, raising a difficult election-year issue as Democrats fight retain control of Congress.
~snip~
Tax cuts enacted under former President George W. Bush are scheduled to expire at the end of the year, affecting taxpayers at every income level. President Barack Obama proposes to permanently extend them for individuals making less than $200,000 a year and families making less than $250,000—at a cost of about $2.5 trillion over the next decade. Breitbart
So there you have it, an admission from a Democrat that the Bush tax cuts were not for the rich. The middle class had cuts as well as demonstrated by Hoyer. Certainly the rich had their taxes cut, everyone who pays taxes did (and those who do not got rebates and credits) and since they pay most of the taxes theirs went down as well.
So the next time a Democrat claims the tax cuts were for the rich ask him what he would say if it were an election year.
And while we are busting myths, let us look at the idea that tax cuts do not stimulate the economy. Democrats believe that taxing (especially the rich) is the way to pay the bills and that cutting taxes does not stimulate the economy.
They believe that until there is an election ahead at which time they talk about tax cuts to stimulate the economy. With regard to the middle class tax cut extension:
“What you want to do is stimulate at this point in time, so you certainly do not want to increase taxes on the middle class, middle-income working Americans,” Hoyer told reporters. Reuters
What you want to do is stimulate so you CERTAINLY DO NOT want to raise taxes.
This rests the case. Tax cuts, not tax increases, stimulate the economy.
If they would have practiced this instead of passing a trillion dollar stimulus we would be well on our way to recovery.
Rush Limbaugh laid out that plan and Obama should have listened.
Speaking of Limbaugh, where is the outrage from liberals who get their panties in a wad when conservatives talk about people and death?
Never surrender, never submit.

Another News Round Up
Jun 28, 2010 Political
Looks like Obama is not so keen on following his rules about lobbyists:
Despite the job title, McLaughlin wasn’t a registered lobbyist. Still, ethics rules created by an Obama executive order prohibit McLaughlin from “participat[ing] in any particular matter involving specific parties that is directly and substantially related to” Google. But the e-mails show McLaughlin has been involved with formulating policy that directly affects Google, regularly trading e-mails with Google’s “evangelist,” and lobbyist.
~snip~
And only when I followed up with a question about the e-mails with lobbyist Davidson did Weiss admit “they did violate the President’s Ethics Pledge,” and note that McLaughlin had been reprimanded. [emphasis mine] Washington Examiner
Well so much for the no lobbyists lobbying for their special interests. How’s that transparency thing working out for ya?
Iran blinks after much bluster:
Iran will not be sending a blockade-busting ship to Gaza in defiance of Israeli warnings, an Iranian lawmaker said Saturday, citing Israeli “restrictions.” Yahoo News
Iran was going to send the blockade buster to help get “humanitarian” aid ships through. Perhaps the idea of being sunk by the Israeli Navy did not appeal to Iran. Imagine the humiliation if that happened.
Maybe the Islamic radicals don’t care who is leading our country:
As for the revolutionary Islamists–be they al-Qaida, Hamas, Hizballah, the Taliban, and the Muslim Brotherhoods–or the radical regimes–be they Iran, Syria, the de facto Islamic Republic of Gaza, or others–all the U.S. governments are definitely the same. Indeed, they make this point explicitly in their declarations and media every day.
To them, the American people are “all the same” and the American governments are “all the same.” The argument between liberals and conservatives on this point is irrelevant. They hate the United States because of its values and they also hate the United States because of its policies. Gloria Center
While liberals love to exclaim that George Bush made the world, particularly the world of Islam, hate us, the reality is they hated us long before Bush was president. They bombed the WTC the first time under Clinton, attacked the Cole and other targets under Clinton and planned 9/11 under him. They do not like us no matter who is elected to lead us and they will continue to attack us until they are defeated.
How is that citizen of the world plan working out?
Another broken Obama promise? Gitmo remains open.
Stymied by political opposition and focused on competing priorities, the Obama administration has sidelined efforts to close the Guantánamo prison, making it unlikely that President Obama will fulfill his promise to close it before his term ends in 2013.
~snip~
“The president can’t just wave a magic wand to say that Gitmo will be closed,” said a senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss internal thinking on a sensitive issue. The New York Times
Obama can’t wave a magic wand and make things happen but he sure acted like it when, with much fanfare, he signed the Executive Order to close it within one year of him taking office. That pen was his magic wand and he waved as if his deeming it so would make it happen.
This is what you get when you put someone with no leadership experience in charge.
Joe Biden Admits they can’t recover the jobs.
Vice President Joe Biden gave a stark assessment of the economy today, telling an audience of supporters, “there’s no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the Great Recession.” CBS News
Biden goes on to do what has become the main theme of this regime, blame it all on Bush. That excuse is getting old. Hey Joe, the mess belongs to you and you and Obama got it because you convinced America you could fix things.
Now you admit that you can’t.
Is ACORN running the Census?
Two Census Bureau managers from a Brooklyn field office were fired after their bosses found they faked household surveys to meet deadlines, the Daily News learned.
Instead of pounding the pavement and knocking on doors, the corner-cutting people-counters mined the phone book and Internet to make up answers to questionnaires, regional director Tony Farthing said. NY Daily News
This census has been poorly run and has cost billions more than any previous census. Perhaps that is because the Obama regime is using numbers of census employees to artificially lower the unemployment rate. These people are counted as new jobs but will be gone in a few months.
The folks who did this should be prosecuted for falsifying a government record. This is what happens when a corrupt regime runs things.
Biden calls store manager a Smart ass. Custard’s last stand:
Joe Biden, VP of the Obama regime, was out getting a frozen custard (he thought he was getting ice cream) and when he asked how much he owed the manager said not to worry about it, “It’s on us.” Then the manager told Biden to lower our taxes and we will call it even. Biden told the man to say something nice instead of being a smart ass. I thought the request for lower taxes was saying something nice.
This is the disdain the regime has for the average guy on the street. If you think you are paying too much in taxes and express that thought you are being a smart ass. This is because the regime, with people like Biden who have NO business experience, think they know better than you. Shut up you serfs and quit being smart asses. We know what is best for you.
Extending an open hand to Iran:
CIA Director Leon Panetta says Iran probably has enough low-enriched uranium for two nuclear weapons, but that it likely would take two years to build the bombs.
Panetta also says he is doubtful that recent U.N. penalties will put an end to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Yahoo News
It would seem as if the Obama doctrine of bowing to all the world leaders and extending an open hand to the bad people of the world has not paid off.
The Iranian leadership knows Obama is weak and they are pushing the limits. They have enough nuclear material for two bombs and will have those bombs in the near future (and probably sooner than the estimated two years).
How is that world experience working out for ya?
Never surrender, never submit.

Whose Ass To Kick
Jun 9, 2010 Political
Barack Obama is taking a beating over the Gulf oil spill. He is facing the same accusations that Bush did when everything Katrina was blamed on him. I don’t think Barack Obama could have done anything to fix the problem any more than Bush could have done anything to fix Katrina. Bush mobilized FEMA and, all the politics aside, the federal response was challenging but not nearly as bad as depicted. The major problem is that few understand the role of FEMA and the federal government in these kinds of things.
Obama claims he was engaged from day one. I doubt this and there is little involvement right now. Katrina involved a state but the oil spill is already in federal territory. The feds could have ramped up immediately and quite a bit by now but booms still sit unused. Certainly BP is responsible for the spill and has the expertise to fix this, expertise the feds do not have. But Obama took responsibility. He told us that BP does not make a move without the government approving it. He said this was the case from the start.
The problem is that the appearance is Obama is not leading in this issue. The perception of Bush (painted by the Democrats) was that he was not engaged but the Lessons Learned from Katrina shows this not to be the case. It is all about perception and Obama does not appear to be leading, whether he is or not. The perception is that he is not in charge.
Obama has been beaten up over his engagement because it looks like he is not involved and that he is aloof. Perhaps this is because he lacks the executive experience to handle these kinds of emergencies. He has never led anything and he has never been in charge during an emergency and now his inexperience is showing.
So what is the cool Obama to do?
He loses it on TV and says he needs to know “whose ass to kick.”
I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar; we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers — so I know whose ass to kick Yahoo News
Looks like Obama is getting his script from Spike Lee.
Exactly what is Obama going to do and exactly how will he kick any ass? How can he kick any ass when he has his boot on their throats? Will he kick his own ass for the failures of government?
Obama is expressing himself in a not so presidential manner because he knows that as each day passes he will lose more seats in Congress. Though he might benefit from losing Congress (look what a Republican Congress did for Bill Clinton), he certainly does not want to be the record holder for lost seats.
That is a distinct possibility because he is looking more like Jimmy Carter during the Iran Hostage Crisis and less like the Hope and Change dreamer people voted for.
Mr. Obama, I know you need to know whose ass to kick but many of us already have that answer. We are going to kick your party’s ass in the next election.
And by doing that we will also be kicking your sorry ass.
As an aside, imagine what it would have been like in the MSM had someone said that Obama needed to have his ass kicked. I bet they would have been howling like scalded dogs and someone might have been visited by the Secret Service.
Obama reminds me of the scene from My Cousin Vinny:
Vinny: Hey, Vincent LaGuardia Gambini–
Lisa: His name’s J.T.
Vinny: J.T., I believe you and Lisa played a game of pool for two hundred dollars, which she won; I’m here to collect.
J.T.: How ’bout if I just kick your ass?
Vinny: Oh, a counteroffer. That’s what we lawyers, I’m a lawyer, call that a counteroffer. Let me see, this is a tough decision you’re giving me here. Get my ass kicked or collect two hundred dollars. Hmm, let me think. I could use a good ass kicking, I’ll be very honest with you. Nah, I think I’ll just go with the two hundred. [more]
Yep, in November Obama is going to find out what an ass kicking really is.
