Debt to Clinton was Paid Long Ago
Apr 20, 2008 Political
A number of people who were huge supporters of the Clintons have recently signed on to the Obama train and are casting their long time friends, Bill and Hillary, aside. This is particularly distressing to the Clintons because they both believe that they are owd by just about every Democrat. Admittedly, there are quite a number of Obama supporters who received appointments to very high paying and high profile government jobs and there are quite a few Democrats who owe Hillary for campaigning for them and helping them win.
Bill Clinton is particularly upset about those who worked in his administration and now support Obama. He was furious with Bill Richardson and as a result their friendship is strained. Surrogates of the Clintons have called people names and have questioned the loyalty of people that received a lot from Bill Clinton when he was president. Bill believes that people owe him but someone should explain to Bill Clinton that he received all that he was owed by any Democrat when they committed malfeasance in office and failed to vote for impeachment. Bill Clinton was paid in full by every Democrats who supported him during the impeachment process. Bill Clinton should have been removed from office. He lied under oath and charges were brought against him. Democrats paid him big time by opposing impeachment. Some Democrats said the charges did not warrant impeachment. Some of these people were in favor of impeaching Nixon and his charges nearly matched Clinton’s word for word.
As for Hillary, sure she has campaigned for people but she has made some of those folks mad along the way. She has piled on Democrats who have made mistakes if piling on made her look good. She piled on John Kerry when he insulted the troops. Hillary was right to pile on because Kerry actually insulted the troops despite what he said about it. However, he was upset she did not back him. She could have just kept silent on the matter but the Clintons are unable to keep quiet. They have to jump in and take the focus group position in order to look “good.”
It is interesting though to see how people have turned on the Clintons. They were once the darlings of the Democratic party. Democrats overlooked all kinds of criminal activity and defended the Clintons every time they were accused. The media ignored major stories in order to help them out (Drudge broke the Monica story that the MSM was sitting on) and they were usually treated as if they were pure as the driven snow. Now they are being beaten up by people who once loved them unconditionally. Amazingly, there are many former Clinton supporters who are now upset with them because they have been dishonest, negative, harsh, demanding, and unrelenting. These are the same people who ignored this kind of behavior from the Clintons for years and who would still be ignoring it if it were not for a charismatic empty suit named Obama.
Loyalty in DC only goes as far as the next election and politicians will disregard friendship if they think backing someone else will help them in any way, shape, or form. As far as Bill Clinton goes, he was paid quite handsomely long, long ago.
It will be interesting to see how much support Democrats get from the Clintons after this election. In a perfect world the Clintons would just fade away but in reality they could still have some value for people who need help getting reelected.

Do Other Dems Hold Obama’s Views?
Apr 19, 2008 Political
Last week Barack Obama made his biggest mistake of the never ending campaign when he stated that small town America turns to guns and religion out of bitterness. The time since he said those things has been filled with Obama apologists telling us that he did not say this and that he chose the wrong words but he was correct about what he said and the damage control folks have been in overdrive trying to convince people that he meant people are angry about their situations.
Let us be perfectly clear; Barack Obama absolutely stated that peole are turn to guns and religions (as well as demonstrate dislike for immigrants) because they are bitter about their economic circumstances. There is no other way to interpret what he said without a willful suspension of disbelief. Obama insulted small town America in front of a group of liberal elitist snobs in San Francisco and then had the audacity to hope people would not take offense.
After the recent debate, a debate that Hillary Clinton won hands down, Obama picked up support from more of the super delegates. Obama picked up support from more of the party’s elite after he insulted the people in small town America. He was taken to task in the debate and his answers about his statements as well as his association with a racist pastor and a member of a domestic terrorist group were elusive and misleading and some of them were lies. He made promises about taxes and gun rights that are inconsistent with his previous views. In other words, he was a typical politician who pandered and lied. He proved that he is nothing more than what he claims to be against in this race.
The sad thing is that more and more Democratic leaders (the super delegates) are jumping on the Obama bandwagon which means that they agree with the things he says. Any who don’t necessarily agree with him completely believe that he can win the White House and that is their goal, at all costs including any modicum of honor they might have actually had. In politics the goal has become winning at all costs, regardless of how it harms the country. Both political parties are guilty but it is more obvious on the left because they are still running a hotly contested race.
Many Democrats are gravitating to Obama now and it is because they support his empty claims of hope and change and they agree with his assessment of America. Most Democrats see Americans as disenchanted members of society who yearn for the leadership that only Democrats can provide. If only we would allow the Democrats to apply their brand of socialism then we could live in ignorant bliss.
Many Democrats are bitter because Hillary Clinton has hung on so long and just as many are bitter that this upstart Senator has taken her rightful place at the seat of power. Yes, the Democratic primary has left a lot of them bitter.
I wonder if they will turn to guns and religion?
Nah, then they will have abandoned the Democratic platform completely.
Vote them ALL out. We need a fresh start.

Observations on the Democrat’s Process
Apr 18, 2008 Political
The Democrats are having a tough time of it because they have two history making candidates who are fairly close. Their loyal supporters are pretty evenly divided with blacks supporting Obama and women supporting Hillary. There are several observations that I want to share:
- Hillary believes that every vote must count but only if they count for her.
- The will of the people is important unless their will is not what the candidates want.
- Obama believes Hillary (and McCain) are insider politicians who resort to dirty tactics. His dirty tactics are outside the beltway and therefore OK.
- Howard Dean thinks Republicans disenfranchise voters. It is not wrong though for him to want the nomination decided now even though there are 10 states still left to vote.
- Bill Clinton thinks that the press treats Hillary unfair because the press now treats her as they have Republicans for decades. Bill does never had a problem with how Republicans get treated.
- Bill Clinton said Obama whined about his treatment in the last debate and Hillary never whined despite her constant whining during previous debates.
- Democrats say they have plans and solutions but can never elaborate on them. The only thing they ever say is that they will raise taxes.
- The definition of rich is anyone who earns wages when it deals with Democrats taxing the rich.
- Democrats act surprised that Hillary told a lie (many actually) as if she has been honest her whole public life. You can tell she is lying because her lips are moving.
- Obama said race is an issue in America. He does not feel his racist pastor is an issue.
- Obama was one of the first to condemn Don Imus and the first to defend his racist pastor.
- Democrats do not want a Republican to win unless their candidate loses the nomination. Then, they will vote Republican. Half of the Democrats know the other candidate is a loser.
These are but a few of the things I have taken away from listening to the Democratic candidates and party members chatter.
Feel free to add your own in the comments or trackback to this post with your observations.
The Ho Hum Democratic Debate
Apr 17, 2008 Political
Though ABC’s moderators did everything they could to incite a war between the remaining Democratic contenders, last night’s debate was about as boring as they get. The Washington Post saw it as ABC dredging up old stories to try to spark a fight and the WaPo believes that ABC favored Clinton and showed Obama in a negative light.
I think that each candidate was taken to task and I think that both of them did a good job of accusing the other of unnecessary attacks while actually attacking in that fashion. Obama was upset that the Clinton campaign ran with his smear of small town USA and made sure we knew that Hillary was seen as elitist with her cookie remarks a long time ago. Hillary attacked Barry with regard to his past associates and he countered by letting us know that she had a controversial pastor as well as the fact that her husband had pardoned two people from the Weather Underground, a radical member of which Obama is associated with.
As far as it goes, the debate was boring. These two tried to show how the other was evil and then of course the replies showed that they are both just as evil. He hangs with terrorists who hate America and her husband pardoned them. She tries to exploit his elitist remarks by saying her family had factory workers in it and he counters by talking about his broken household and growing up a poor single parent child, blah, blah.
I thought Barry did a good job of countering what she said but his counters were not denials of his failings and were more of a “She did it too.” All he did was point out that she had done the same things in her past. He never denied being wrong or associating with the wrong people, he just said that she did it too. He lamented about things that are decades old being brought up and then he brought up her suspicious activities from, you guessed it, nearly two decades ago.
These two are absolute failures and neither could lead a group of people out of a burning building. He continues to deny the obvious and to make excuses about his associations and she continues to accuse him of the very things that she has done for years. There was a lot of finger pointing, a lot of venom, a lot of nice talk with nastiness wrapped inside and there was no substance.
Hillary talked about being ready to lead, about having her past already dug into and about how George Bush ruined the economy her hubby made great (another liberal myth). Obama talked about how people want change, how he sometimes chooses improper words and about how people should focus on issues and not nuances (unless his people are focusing on Hillary’s nuances). I also think it was pretty clear that they will not run on the same ticket though that remains to be seen. Democrats will do anything for power so they might kiss and make up when all is said and done.
The big winner last night was John McCain. He received ammunition from each candidate (though you can bet the Republicans are working overtime getting their own) and he probably benefited from the fact that these two looked like school children rather than leaders. McCain looks like the adult in this group and people will see that. I also believe that Obama got flustered a few times and gave circular answers that made no sense. McCain has to believe that he can wax Obama’s rear in a debate. At least last night showed that Obama is not unflappable.
I am sure that neither of these two should be president and last night reaffirmed that belief. I am also sure that the only thing either knows is that raising taxes is the answer to all problems. They both lied about our tax structure, they made false claims about the wealthy (which both of them are) and they both showed that if either of them is elected America will be in for some real bad times.
But it was fun to watch. I rarely get to see two clueless people have a fight. Watching them made me think of what it might look like if they rearranged the furniture at the school for the blind…

Hillary; Tired at 11pm, Ready at 3am?
Apr 16, 2008 Political
Hillary Clinton lied to America at least three times about being under sniper fire on a trip to Bosnia. When a pesky video of the trip showed a casual visit without the slightest hint of sniper fire or any other dangers, Hillary was forced to change course and she did so by suggesting that she had misspoken and that she was tired. Her husband, former president Bill Clinton, reopened that painful incident by mentioning it and then lying about the lie. He stated that Hillary was tired after a long day and that she made a mistake at 11 pm. Her lie occurred in the morning, not the night.
Bill is out talking about Obama’s smoke and mirrors campaign and how the older voters would be too smart to fall for Obama and would gravitate to Hillary. Bill spent part of the time trying to ensure his legacy was left intact by comparing his years in office with those of George Bush. Bill wants us to think that his eight years were full of peace and prosperity while the Bush years have been full of war and economic disaster. Of course these claims require a willing suspension of disbelief, but the Clintons are great at rewriting history. In any event, Bill is counting on senior citizens to elect his wife when he recently said that they would be forgetful people (as is his wife):
Last week, however, Clinton seemed to suggest that older voters might be more absent-minded than wise. Defending Hillary Clinton’s faulty recollection of landing under sniper fire during a 1996 humanitarian visit to Bosnia, the former president said of her critics, “When they’re 60, they’ll forget something when they’re tired at 11 o’clock at night, too.” Boston.com
I know that when people get older they sometimes have trouble remembering things. But this is Hillary Clinton we are talking about. Forgetting for a moment that she spoke in the morning and not at night (thus making Bill’s claims a lie), what does it say about Hillary if she is tired at 11 pm? For any other person we might say that it is not unusual but Hillary has already told us in one of her ads that she is ready to answer the phone at 3 am.
If Hillary is too tired at 11 pm and that is why she misspoke then how is she fit to answer that phone at 3 am? How will she be fresh and ready to answer the call without misspeaking or taking the wrong decisions? It would appear as if Hillary lied once again because in her commercial she is all dressed, make-up and jewelery in place and answering a phone to handle an emergency while the rest of us sleep under the blanket of protection she provides. However, in reality she and her husband have both admitted that she poops out by 11 pm and is not capable of competent thought at that time of night.
Her excuse for her lie contradicts the claims she made in the campaign ad. Bill and Hillary are used to having it both ways but during this campaign those two are yesterday’s news and people are much more critical. The MSM and the Democrats are only loyal to the moment and this moment belongs to Obama. The former Clinton supporters have jumped ship because there is a new kid in town. This means that the Clintons get tough scrutiny and in this case the lies keep getting exposed.
The Clintons can no longer have it both ways so either she was tired or she is ready to go at 3 am. I think she was tired and is not ready to go at any time. I also think her fatigue had nothing to do with what she said because it was a deliberate lie as was Bill’s assertion that she made the statement near midnight when she actually said it in the morning (and several other times in the past).
Maybe Obama can come up with an ad that says “It is 11 pm and there is an emergency. Do you want a tired old woman answering that phone and misspeaking us into a disaster?”
The Clintons are under a stronger microscope at this time. If Americans had paid this much attention when he ran for office the first time we would have never had the abomination that was his presidency. I hope America is smart enough not to make the same mistake twice.
Then again, Obama would be a worse disaster than either Clinton.
No matter what happens, we are so screwed…
