Obama Leadership Equals Crisis Management
Mar 7, 2009 Political
There is no doubt that Barack Obama assembled one of the greatest teams in history to run his campaign. He always had surrogates to go on the attack or to make claims of racism while he appeared to remain above the fray. His fund raising set all kinds of records. He received money from all over the world and some of the donors were American citizens who donated only the legal amount. His team was able to hide the fund raising shenanigans and keep on moving on.
Then the unflappable, charismatic junior Senator from Illinois actually won. That is when he found out that leading a campaign is a lot different than leading the country. Obama is getting more gray hair each day as his “tracking poll” from the stock market keeps making a nosedive. He has already spent more money than the complete cost of the war and has raised the deficit higher than Bush did in eight years. Bush took a small Clinton deficit and nearly doubled it and Obama has nearly tripled it (for those who think Clinton had a surplus, using the same accounting tricks the war on terror has cost NOTHING). Obama said he would abandon the Bush policies and there would not be more of the same. I guess tripling the deficit instead of doubling it counts.
People are getting weary of Obama because he has clearly demonstrated that he cannot lead. He is finding out that it is one thing to run for office and promise the world but that it is quite another to actually have to do something. The leadership of Obama (if we can actually call it that) is crisis management. This has been elaborated upon several times and Obama confirmed it today. The crisis management approach was lain out by Rahm Emanuel who stated:
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.”
This was what Rahm said prior to Obama taking office and in the midst of the economic meltdown that was created by Democratic policies and probably assisted along by Obama supporters when there was a mysterious huge run on the financial market.
What the ballerina is saying is that they know that in normal times there are things that would not pass the sniff test in Congress. There are items that will not pass no matter what and that there are others that might pass but they would be politically unwise. With a crisis they can hype it up for all it is worth and pass things that would otherwise never pass just by screaming crisis and telling people that the world will end if we do not act NOW!
Interestingly, Hillary Clinton said the same thing on her little jaunt to Europe.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told an audience Friday “never waste a good crisis,” and highlighted the opportunity of rebuilding economies in a greener, less energy-intensive way. al-Reuters
Here the focus is on the environment and making things all nice and green. But the principle is the same. Use the crisis to scare up support for expensive repairs for an unproven problem and claim it is necessary in order to provide jobs and save Mother Earth. Incidentally, the Earth has been here for millions of years before man set foot on it and it will be here a long time after we are gone. Global warming will not end our time here.
So we have the ballerina and the Secretary of State discussing using a crisis to screw the country and they are on the same sheet of music because that is what their boss, King Hussein has decided to do.
Well, I don’t think he decided to lead that way. I believe that this is the only thing he knows. He has NEVER been a leader in his adult life. He was a rabble rouser in Chicago and he was present in the Illinois legislature. Then he went to the US Senate where he had an unremarkable stint. He ended up in the White House and he could not lead a group of people out of a burning building.
Let me correct that, he could lead his “followers” anywhere because they will do anything he wants. They are lemmings who will follow him off a cliff.
Today on his weekly radio address The Evil Won stated very clearly that his “leadership” style is crisis management.
“Yes, this is a moment of challenge for our country,” Obama said. “But we’ve experienced great trials before. And with every test, each generation has found the capacity to not only endure, but to prosper – to discover great opportunity in the midst of great crisis.” My Way News
The great opportunity of which he speaks is the opportunity for him and his Democrats to spend like there is no tomorrow.
And with them at the wheel, there might not be.

Israel Should Tell Hillary To Take A Hike
Feb 26, 2009 Political
Who does Hillary Clinton think she is to go over to Israel and give them a hard time for what she says is placing obstacles in the path of relief supplies for Gaza? Clinton is complaining that Israel is not letting enough relief supplies into the area and John Kerry had to convince them to let pasta in. Evidently, only rice was on the list of approved supplies.
I don’t know or care if there is a hold up in the supplies getting through. Israel has every right to ensure that what is going in is actually humanitarian in nature and not supplies to rearm the terrorists who continue to launch rockets into the country.
As far as I am concerned, Gaza is fortunate that Israel is letting anything at all in. Israel just kicked the snot our of the bad guys in Gaza and it went to great lengths to ensure innocent people were not harmed. Israel is trying to ensure that Gaza gets supplies to help those who were innocent victims of Hamas. But their pace is not quick enough for Clinton.
Israel should tell her to pound sand in her ample caboose and to STF up.
If Hillary Clinton is so concerned about problems at a border she can come back to the US and address the issue of ILLEGALS coming across ours.
Israel is blocking building materials from entering the country which means the 900 million dollars our government wants to use to rebuild will not be any good if there are no supplies.
Let’s get it straight. Israel wants to live on its own land and it wants to be left alone. Its neighbors will not leave it alone and those neighbors keep attacking Israel. I don’t care what the issues are, Israel has its land and the Palestinians will have to do with what they have. Israel has given up territory time and again in hopes of peace only to be attacked time and again.
Now is the time for Israel to continue to assert itself until there is peace or everyone who is attacking is eliminated.
Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi like to tell Republicans that they [Democrats] won. This is their way of saying that what they want trumps what Republicans want.
Well, Israel won. It won decades ago and it kept the land that it conquered. It has gradually given some of it back but make no mistake about it, Israel won then and it won this most recent conflict. This means that it gets to assert its will on the conquered.
Maybe Israel will wise up and realize that the Obama administration is not friendly toward the Joooooooooos and the tiny, hated country in which they live.
Regardless, Hillary Clinton has no business telling them how to run their show.

Obama Meets With US Presidents
Jan 7, 2009 Political
President Elect Barack Obama met with the current president and three past presidents today at the White House. Obama and current President Bush met privately and then the five gathered for a photo op and lunch. The Free Republic has the pictures and some humorous comments.
Protocol dictates that the men put differences aside during these kinds of events so there was no bickering, at least publicly, as the men who have served gave pointers to the man who is about to.
George W. Bush was a gracious host:
George W Bush gave him the warmest welcome. “One message that I have and I think we all share is that we want you to succeed,” he said. “We wish you all the very best, and so does the country.” Telegraph UK
While the men were heading off to eat Bill Clinton commented that he loved the rug in the Oval Office.
Since protocol dictates they act as gentlemen one can only imagine that the head voice inside George W Bush was saying; “Well, after your tenure the other rug was too stained to use.”

Looking At Presidential Pardons
Nov 25, 2008 Political
Presidents have the authority, under the Constitution, to grant pardons and their decision to do so is absolute so no one can overturn them. Clinton pardoned a number of people and in the flurry of activity during his last day in office he granted a pardon to Marc Rich. That was a bought and paid for pardon but it cannot be overturned. Charges could have been brought against Clinton if it could be proven that he was paid for the pardon. Clinton also pardoned members of the FALN, a violent Puerto Rican nationalist group. One of Obama’s nominees had a little something to do with the Clinton pardons…
President Bush has been stingy with the pardon pen and has issued about half of those Reagan or Clinton issued. This past week President Bush issued pardons or sentence commutations to 16 people. Some of them are for people who were involved in drugs (either smuggling or using) and others were for a variety of crimes, none of them appear to be for people who committed violent crimes. There are two pardons that are missing and should have been made a long time ago.
Border agents Compean and Ramos, who were convicted of shooting a drug smuggler, still sit in jail while Bush pardons drug smugglers and users. These two border patrol agents were doing their jobs and shot the man in the line of duty and they ended up in jail while the US government granted immunity to the smuggler so he could testify (and we paid for his medical treatment).
The idea that two men who risked their lives in an attempt to keep our borders secure and our country free from the drugs that are smuggled in could end up in jail is mind boggling. What is even more a miscarriage of justice is that the president has yet to right this wrong by pardoning these men and returning them to their families where they belong. We need more of these kinds of people guarding our borders because God knows the Congress has no intention of doing it. The only mistake these two made was they did not kill the guy when they shot him. Then there would only be one story to worry about.
George Bush needs to pardon these men right away.
There are folks who have requested pardons or to have their sentences reduced. Two prominent ones are Randy Cunningham, a Republican California Congressman and Edwin W. Edwards, former Democratic Governor of Louisiana. Both were sent to jail after being convicted for corruption while in office.
These are two people who should not receive a pardon or shortened sentences. They used their office for personal gain and they violated the public trust. What they did is inexcusable and they should have to serve every day of their respective sentences. Every politician who is convicted of corruption should be put away for a very long time as a deterrent to others in office.
What kind of country is this where politicians who abused their offices expect to get pardoned while border guards who actually did their jobs are ignored?
There is also concern that Bush will issue a blanket pardon to everyone associated with him so that they cannot be prosecuted when the Democrats start their witch hunt. I have no problem with this. The Democrats have no reason to go after people and only want to try and dig up any little thing in order to embarrass the president and those who worked for him.
We can’t get these idiots to work full time as it is so they need to focus on the important things. If Bush issues the blanket pardon it will take away the distraction and allow the Democrats to work on more pressing issues.
But, if they go after Bush and those who worked for him they should keep in mind that they will not always be in power. Pay back can be a son of a gun.

Obama’s Economic Team
Nov 25, 2008 Political
Barack Obama has been filling positions for his new Hopey-Change administration but The One, who promised no more old politics, has assembled a team of people who are retreads from the mediocre Clinton years.
Today The Sainted One named his economic team, the ones who will get us out of the financial mess we are in. Keeping in tune with his Clinton Redux Theme, many of the people Obama named served, at one time or another, under Clinton. I am still waiting for the change. Seems to me that if The One fills his administration with retreads then he has not changed very much.
I think the Obama time in office will be a disaster. He will not be able to solve the financial problems and he has pledged to spend trillions of dollars which will do exactly what he criticized Bush for, increase the deficit. But if we are lucky we can all sit in a corner and chant HOPE, HOPE, HOPE, and see where that gets us.
There will be record inflation, high prices, and instability in the markets for some time to come and it will be on Obama’s head. He will have a misery index that makes the Carter years look like good times.
Yes, Obama’s tenure will be a cross between Clinton Redux and Welcome Back Carter…
Ace has the appropriate picture for The One.
