We Need Fred Thompson
May 4, 2007 Uncategorized
The Republican Presidential debate last night showed that more than ever the Republican Party needs Fred Thompson to commit and get in the race. The field of candidates last night seemed like nice enough people but they each had their moments of unsteadiness that demonstrated they might not be ready for the big dance.
I am sure that a number of these guys would make great Vice Presidents and grow with the experience that position would provide but I don’t feel any of them (with the possible exception of Mitt Romney) demonstrated the strength to go against the star status of Hillary Rodham or Hussein Obama.
Now more than ever the Republican Party needs a person who is high profile, conservative to the core, and who exudes leadership. From what I have seen and heard, Fred Thompson is that man.

Obama Becomes a MySpace Bully
May 2, 2007 Uncategorized
A young (former) Barack Obama supporter ran a MySpace Website that supported the candidate. Obama’s people helped make sure that the site myspace.com/barackobama, which belonged to Joe Anthony. The Obama folks had access so they could make changes and add content. Now that Obama is a star he has decided that he does not want someone to have control over the content of a site with his name so Obama decided to take the website. He offered to pay for the site which had tens of thousands of contacts on it and was very popular.
The MySpace folks decided that Obama was entitled to have the site. How they decided that I do not know because Anthony had the site and he was listed as the owner. I guess the MySpace people felt that an elitist like Obama trumped an everyday guy who supports the elitist. I guess what happened is that the King decided he wanted the subject’s property and he took it.
Obama is a typical Democrat in that he takes what does not belong to him use by others. Democrats believe in taking your money (and lots of it) so that others will have the use of it. In this case Obama decided that he would take Anthony’s property so that he [Obama] could use it. Seems rather ignorant but not unexpected.
Anthony says that Obama lost his vote and I recommend he open another MySpace and call it Obama Sucks and then write all the time about how he was robbed. He should also go to all the free blog sites like WordPress.com and blogger and open similar sites and use all his contacts to make Obama look like the Liberal thug bully that he is.

Intelligence Failures in Lead Up to Global Warming
May 1, 2007 Uncategorized
After 9/11 there was an outcry from the American public to retaliate and make those responsible pay. The Congress overwhelmingly voted to go to war and during the early phases there was broad, bipartisan support. When things became worse the Democrats jumped on the opportunity to blame President Bush for all that went wrong. The Mission Accomplished banner that hung behind him has been used to lampoon him for years despite the fact the President never used the words “Mission Accomplished” and he said that there would be tough times ahead. Still, even he would admit that is has been tougher than he expected. The Democrats started their cut and run mantra and, led by groups like MoveOn, began to tell Americans that George Bush lied us to war. The Democrats in Congress said that they were lied to or deceived and that the President deliberately lied us into the conflict. These claims are made despite the reality that the intelligence agencies from around the world agreed upon the assessment and despite the fact that many of the leading Democrats confirmed what the intelligence indicated long before George Bush was elected. Bill Clinton reaffirmed this after leaving office when he indicated that there was no doubt Hussein had WMD when Clinton was replaced.
So we have many experts agreeing on the pre-war intelligence and the Democrats agreeing to the assessments. We have Democrats voting to use force, more likely out of fear of being called unpatriotic than anything else. And we have those same Democrats indicating they were lied to and they would not have voted for the war had they known what they know now (how convenient). Harry Reid has indicated that the President refuses to face reality and that the war is lost and those on the left are behind him just hoping and praying that America suffers defeat because they have staked their entire future on a bad outcome. If we win or things turn out very well the Democrats will spend decades in the minority.
Fast forward to now and we have the global warming debate. It is amazing to me that the Democrats who are telling us that this is a terrific threat and it will be our undoing are doing so based upon less credible evidence than that presented to go to war. The global warming advocates rely on the unfounded slide show Al Gore presents and the claim that a huge number of scientists agree so it must be true. The disregard the fact that there are as many or more scientists who disagree or are skeptical about the whole idea and they call those who refuse to jump on board deniers. This is the same as calling those who opposed the war unpatriotic but that is OK in the eyes of the global warming crowd. The global warming debate is even more ominous than that of the reasons for going to war in that there are those who think anyone who refuses to sign on to the GW bandwagon should be fined or put in jail much ad Holocaust deniers are in Germany.
For those who believe that President Bush lied us into war and that we were misled into believing that WMDs existed (which they did) to say that global warming is a fact is incredible. The evidence for the war was much more concrete than anything global warming advocates have presented and yet the Liberals cling to global warming like Rosie to a donut and in the same breath discount Bush as a liar. We were lied into war but we are being told the absolute truth about global warming. This is a bunch of hogwash. Not one scientist has presented credible research to show GW is real. There are many scientists who espouse the theory that this is all part of a natural cycle but they are dismissed as deniers or as paid by big oil companies to say such things. The fact that many scientists who promote global warming depend on saying so to have jobs and get research money escapes these same people.
People like Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, and Rosie will tell us in one breath that President Bush lied us into war and in the very next tell us to buy expensive light bulbs and carbon offsets to prevent GW. We are reminded by Al Gore et al that we can not afford to be wrong. The evidence, they claim, is there but even if you are skeptical can you afford not to do something? Our future depends on this! What if you are wrong? The world will cease to exist because you took that chance.
The same argument was applied to the war. We had evidence, the intelligence agencies around the world said, that Hussein had WMD and that they could fall into the wrong hands. We had evidence that Hussein was developing nuclear weapons (Joe Wilson’s lies not withstanding) and that he would sell them to those who would bring them to America and use them. His own nuclear scientists have said so. But this is all lies. This is all Bush and the warmongers. The argument made about what if we are right (or if the naysayers are wrong) did not hold water with the anti-war crowd. That was just speculation hyped up to make Bush’s oil friends rich as opposed to the global warming hype making Al Gore and his carbon offset buddies rich.
Isn’t it amazing that Democrats who balk at the war and the lead up to the war as a pack of lies so blindly follow the GW caravan? Isn’t it amazing that these same people who tell us our future depends on accepting this unknown and unproven claim blatantly chastise Bush and claim he lied us into war? There is no terrorist threat, Michael Moore said, and we were supposed to believe that. Hussein was not a threat to us, the Democrats tell us, and we are supposed to believe that. But global warming we are supposed to accept as a fact and a threat with less evidence than that presented for the war.
The Democrats are all for the defeat of America and they will stop at nothing to make George Bush look bad and to win seats. They do not want us to succeed because that would mean they were wrong and they would lose power. If only we could have Democrats as passionate about protecting America and winning the war as they are about global warming.
We can debate all day whether it was smart to go into Iraq but we are there now and that bell can not be unrung. Now that we are there we must win at all costs. Defeat can not be an option and anyone who espouses defeat is not fit to serve in office and those in office who vote for defeat should be shot as traitors. I will admit that President bush made some mistakes.
Perhaps the biggest was not presenting the case for war as a global warming issue. Then he would have had the Democrats on board.
BTW, for those who claim that 9/11 was an inside job and that the fire from those planes could not have melted steel. For those like Rosie who tell us fire does not melt steel, how would you go about explaining the fact that the fire on the California bridge involving 8600 gallons of fuel heated the steel beams until they bent and faltered resulting in collapse? Jet fuel burns hotter than regular fuel and the steel beams on that bridge weakened and fell under much less weight (and probably less heat) than was involved at the WTC.
Perhaps Governor Ahhnult staged that to help President Bush out and hide the real 9/11 conspirators…
Hey Rosie, stick to what you do best, whatever that actually is.
Big Dog Salute to Gribbit for the melting steel story.
Big Dog salute to Ron Smith of WBAL for the idea for this post (the part comparing the war to GW). Ron has some differing opinions (and a slightly different take on this topic) about the war but he makes cogent arguments and does so with respect for those with whom he disagrees.

It’s Not the Cows that are Full of Gas In Europe
Apr 29, 2007 Uncategorized
Members of the European Union want to alter the diets of cows to keep them from passing so much gas. This is an effort to curb global warming. This is a novel idea. How many others would figure to try and alter the way things nature are with no real indication that the outcome will be better (except for the weirdos who change their sex). I have an idea to help reduce the gas emissions from cows. We need to eat more of them!
Cows provide plenty of food. Each one provides hundreds of pounds of meat that can sustain life. We nee for the EU to start killing and packaging the cows so they can be sent over to the poor nations of Africa where folks die each day from malnutrition. There are plenty of starving people in the EU who would also benefit from having beef to eat. Instead of a gas passing law for cows, they can make a new law that states people have to eat beef 3 or 4 days a week and that Sunday must be a traditional meat and taters day for families.
Of course, we do have to make one more law. We have to outlaw being a vegetarian. Eating only plants increases the amount of gas an organism passes. Cows eat only vegetation and they are working to eliminate that problem but the only creature whose habits we have control over is man. It should be against the law to be a vegetarian and all people who are must be forced to covert and help eat the cows. The might not like it but it is the least they can do to help stop global warming.
Eat more cows and outlaw the vegetarian diet. This will help tremendously and much more so than trying to alter the diet of a cow. It is like trying to teach a pig to sing.
It does not work and it irritates the pig…

Howard Dean Says that Giuliani’s Personal Life a Problem
Apr 27, 2007 Uncategorized
In yet another example of how the Democrats are part of the do as I say and not as I do crowd, Howard Dean has stated that Rudy Giuliani’s personal life will be a problem for him. When asked to describe those problems Dean indicated that he does not get into that but it will come out from Republicans. I can not disagree with that because in the Primary that is certainly true. If Giuliani makes it to the general election the Democrats will have no problems attacking him on his personal life. However, the Dems are delusional as demonstrated by this statement:
Chariman [sic] Dean said the former New York City Mayor “has a lot of character issues that he has to answer for. And overwhelmingly, Americans are going to vote on honesty and integrity…. We’ve begun to reach out to evangelical Christians, and that’s a real problem for him. His personal life is a serious problem for him.” Drudge
The voters, at least those who are Democrats, are not worried about honesty and integrity. William Jefferson Clinton was reelected even though he had an adulterous affair IN THE WHITE HOUSE and then lied to America about it. He lied about his relationship with Gennifer Flowers and his sexual conquests of other women with whom he bumped uglies. He lied and lied and lied until he was caught and then he asked for forgiveness and now he is hailed as the patron saint of the party. He also never inhaled…
When Clinton ran the first time the fact that he dodged the draft was not an issue with the Democrats as they told us that service in the military was not important (and I agree) to being President and that he dodged a draft that many people ran from because the war was unpopular. Then when Bush ran against Gore they complained that he skipped out on his obligation to serve his Guard tour (claims that have yet to be proved) and that he got the gig through connections, as if this was all now important. When Kerry took a shot at the White House he ran on his paltry Vietnam service record and the Dems hailed him as the next coming of MacArthur and all of the sudden service in Vietnam was important for the President.
It never ceases to amaze me at how the Democrats change what is acceptable based on the actions and qualifications of their candidates. It is also no secret that when a Republican has the qualities that they thought were good the last time their guy ran those qualities are all of the sudden bad.
Howard Dean is truly an idiot but he did have a purpose. He knows that Giuliani might present a serious problem for the donks and he threw out a preemptive shot. He brought it up so that now others will follow the line of thinking and expand upon the bad issues with Giuliani’s personal life. These people will ignore the past indiscretions of the Democrats and focus on getting Rudy. Dean might not comment on the person life of others but he sure did not mind “mentioning” it.
I would never vote for Rudy but his personal life is the lowest reason for that.
