Maryland Might Apologize for Slavery

For some reason, there is this big push now to apologize for slavery. First, Virginia issued an apology and now the People’s Republic of Maryland is considering doing the same thing. I wrote earlier about this and I thought it was a stupid idea when Virginia did it and I have not changed my mind with regard to Maryland. My friend GM Roper has already pointed out, quite well, that people can not apologize for something they did not do. No one who is a alive today was a slave or a slave owner.

Maryland has taken a hard left turn (as if it could get any further left) and Saint Martin O’Malley is leading the moonbat parade. He indicated that he thought it was a good idea and he would not be opposed to signing the apology. Why it might even bring healing, the Saint said. I will say this to Marty and the rest of the moonbats, time heals all wounds. We have had over 100 years time to heal. I am personally tired of hearing about slavery in the context that it hurt people of today. Slavery was wrong and I believe that no person should own another but I also realize that this was the practice of the times and it was LEGAL. Just because it was legal does not mean it was right but the fact is, it was legal and it was eventually abolished. The funny thing is that the moonbats will say that because it was legal does not justify it but will argue that abortion is legal and therefore right when they justify killing unborn children.

Slavery happened a very, very long time ago and Maryland was basically split in the war. There were people who sided with the North and people who sided with the South. There were many people here who fought in the Civil War for the North, and even though the Civil War was not about slavery, those fighters eventually helped free those slaves. How about we start having some thank yous handed out with the apologies? Why don’t we have the NAACP issue thank yous to the states that did not have slaves and to the families of people who fought and helped gain the freedom of those held as slaves? Why, well first of all that would not fit any agenda and it why would anyone thank someone who had nothing to do with the acts? That is right, the people alive today did not free anyone nor did they fight in the Civil War. It just makes no sense and is nothing more than the politicians placating black people who have never been slaves but use the history of slavery in this country as a means to gain what they want and as a means to excuse anti-social behavior.

Maryland might apologize for slavery but that apology does not come from me. I do not apologize for slavery because I had absolutely nothing to do with slavery. I have never owned a person, of any color, nor would I. So the politicians can waste money drafting worthless resolutions and proclamations but no matter what they come up with, the sentiments are not mine. I will say this though, if the state issues this apology, I do not expect to hear anyone raise the issue of slavery again. I do not want to hear people calling talk shows telling me how terrible white people are and that “you held us as slaves” (which is patently false anyway for the reasons already stated). I will dismiss any such talk and be quick to remind the speaker that an apology was issued and the matter is closed. Yes closed, as it should have been years ago.

My ancestors had their land in this country taken from them. I do not ask for an apology and I do not believe I am entitled to reparations or anything else. It was something that took place in history and it can not be undone. You can not un-ring a bell. I am fine with it because it happened and it is over with. My advice to all the folks looking for an apology and who continually use the past practice of slavery as the reason for every ill in society that befalls blacks:

Get over it an move on.

And by the way, I am not sorry for something that I did not do and if you are truly tired of slavery, stop allowing yourselves to be owned by your taskmasters in the Democratic Party. They are the ones who should be apologizing for enslaving blacks.

Has CAIR had Anything Else to Say About 24?

The beginning of this years 24 featured some radical Muslims attacking targets in the US and they in fact detonate a nuclear device. CAIR made a big stink about all this and complained that it put the onus of terrorism on the Muslims. I know that the truth hurts but the fact is most of the terrorism in the world is caused by radical Muslims. CAIR can overlook this or disbelieve it or even try to convince people that it isn’t so but the fact is, one only needs to look at the world and see who is causing terrorism and who acts like mobs of animals when someone has the audacity to knock the so called religion of peace.

I have watched 24 from the beginning this season and it started out with Muslims committing acts of terror. No surprise there, but the story line has taken a much different tact and it is not the Muslims who are painted as the bad guys, at least not by their little lonesome selves. The weapons were supplied by some corporation that has gives the impression of an evil Halliburton like company. The US government was shown as fascists because they locked up Muslims just for being Muslims. A Muslims terrorist who has killed hundreds is presented as a good guy because he wants to begin talks and renounce terrorism (and he saved the President’s life after US government officials tried to assassinate him).

There are members of the President’s administration who are shown as war mongers just itching for a reason to invade anyone Muslim and the folks who tried to assassinate the President came from his own administration and tried to kill him because he was not as warlike as they wanted. There are Americans shown as home grown terrorists while proudly proclaiming that they are patriots. The show, which is good but not as good as seasons past, looks like it has gone out of its way to offend Americans and to respect the sensitivities of the Muslim community and the terrorist front group, CAIR.

I just want to know where CAIR has been? They have not come out and complained about the way the Americans on the show are portrayed. I guess to those terrorists in that organization, the show is depicting us accurately. Now I don’t really care how they portray us because it is a show. They had an evil President last season who I think was designed to act like a Richard Nixon character. They have had moles infiltrate different agencies and they have shown people from other nations as the bad guys. Like I said, it is a show and I enjoy it because I know it is fiction. It does not bother me in any way because they are portraying characters and, in reality, I am sure there are many people just like this in every facet of American life.

Did Democrats Reveal Cheney’s Plans?

The air base where Vice President Dick Cheney was visiting troops was attacked by a suicide bomber. At least one US Service Member was killed in the attack. The visit by the VP was supposed to be under very tight control and the information was kept quite confidential. Who in our government knew of the plans and have we checked their phone records?

It is no secret that the left would like to see harm come to Cheney. This might sound bad but in reality, every time he has chest pain they hold a vigil and pray for his demise. The comments at web sites like the Daily Kos are quite mean spirited and nearly all rejoice in the possibility that he might die. BTW, this is quite different from how right wing web sites react to the illnesses of Democrats.

There are reports that the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the bombing and they are indicating that the VP was their target. I rather doubt that this is the case. They might say it and they might believe it in their little terrorist minds but the reality is that Cheney would not be near the gate and the odds of the Taliban getting to him are quite small. But, if they actually knew he was there, as they claim then there was a breach of security. Who would want to see this happen? Any damned Democrat in DC would be my guess but I would round up the usual suspects like Pelosi (who tattled on Cheney last week), Kennedy, Murtha, Clinton and Kerry. As with the fictional TV show 24, there are probably moles working inside DC and they are hell bent on getting Bush and Cheney. One of these people might well have leaked this in order to get Pelosi closer to the White House.

I would be checking the phone records of these people to see if they have been talking with their friends in the terrorist network. I would have to check because I do not trust any of them and I would not put it past them to disclose the secrets surrounding Cheney’s visit. Look how often they give secrets to the New York Times.

Of course, it might be a good idea to check the phone records of Scooter Libbey as well…

The Gorey Details

Al Gore has made a name for himself by touting pseudo-science involving global warming and along the way his “documentary” picked up an Oscar. It has been pointed out in the past that Al Gore pollutes more than the average person he is targeting. Al jets all over the world, he rides in lots and lots of cars all over the place and the Academy Award ceremony that he applauded for being green had limousines lined up to ferry stars all over. After his two appearances in the Kodak Theatre, where he begged everyone to join the fight against global warming, it has been learned that Al Gore’s mansion uses more electricity in a month than most houses use in a year.

A counter to that was released today that points out that Gore has purchased a little over $400 a month in “green” energy. He also drives a hybrid car so, the article points out, we should not be focusing our sights on him:

Rather than attacking one man — Gore — Johnson and his group should be taking a larger view and trying to make a difference to reduce global warming, Krider [Gore spokeswoman] said. Tennessean

Ms. Krider informs us that Gore’s 10,000 square foot home is going to have a larger carbon footprint than the average home. I guess what she means is, rich people live in big houses (called mansions) and they are going to use more than everyone else but they are rich so we should do what they say and not what they do. I have to disagree with this woman and her assertion that we should not be attacking one person but should be looking at the larger picture. We have every right to attack that one person because he is the one who is preaching to everyone.

No one would mention that Al Gore uses more electricity or heating fuel than most people if he had not run around the country giving speeches about global warming. no one would pay attention to him if he had not drawn attention to himself. Now that his film won an award it makes it even more appropriate that we investigate him deeper than most. You see, most Americans are not running around telling others how to live their lives and how to consume goods. Gore is and that means that his own habits are open to scrutiny. The irony is that the people who are out supporting this whole global warming myth are those who use the most resources.

This is typical for the elitist among us. John Edwards discusses his two Americas where the wealthiest live one kind of life and all the rest of us live a lesser existence. What he fails to mention and what probably never occurs to him, is that he lives in that very wealthy America. When he makes the claims he does people are going to become skeptical when he buys a home that is the largest and most expensive in his county. Likewise, people will be skeptical of Gore when he tells us all how to reduce what we use when he uses twenty times as much as the average family.

Do as I say and not as I do is common among the elitists in America. We see it from the Hollywood crowd and we see it from our elected officials who make laws that they are exempted from following. There are few in the so called ruling class who follow their own words. Whether they own stock in companies they portray as evil or employ non-union workers while pandering to unions, they thumb their collective noses every step of the way.

It is time we got rid of them and replaced them with people who want to make America better. As for Gore, we can ignore him. He might not go away but it will be more peaceful. I would recommend to him though, that if he wants to convince people he is serious he should sell his mansion and buy a small place that is very energy efficient. Maybe Dicaprio can move in with him and shut down his mansion as well.

What’s in Al Sharpton’s Genes?

Al Sharpton agreed to have his family roots traced and there is a result that has him floored. Records indicate that Sharpton might be related to Strom Thurmond through a great-grandfather. This would be the irony of all ironies. A black racist who is related to a white racist. The history of Sharpton is easy, he is a race baiting poverty pimp. Strom Thurmond was a big segregationist, especially in the early part of his career. He ran for the presidency and vowed to keep the US segregated. These stances were all taken while he was a Democrat. Thurmond became a Republican in the 1960s and his view on race softened over the years. It is known he fathered a child with a black woman.

Sharpton wants DNA testing to see if he is truly related. He says that he can not be any more shocked than he already is. It is interesting because Sharpton did not care for Thurmond because of how he lived his life (as a racist). Sharpton prefers his brand of racism to Thurmond’s. Be that as it may, this is funny. I imagine Thurmond is laughing his arse off over this one (where ever he happens to be). Imagine old Al worried he has some white folk blood in him. He will not be able to run around blaming whites for everything now because he was an oppressor! How sad is he? He was the oppressor and the victim.

Regardless of how this turns out I feel sorry for the family to have to be blood kin to such a racist. I hope the Thurmonds can just accept it and move on.
