Its Easy When Its Isn’t Your Money
Jan 25, 2010 Political
The recent trip to Copenhagen for the summit on the hoax known as global warming cost US taxpayers about a MILLION dollars. The people who went to this event spent more per day for their rooms and food than most people sepnd a month on their mortgage.
For 15 Democratic and 6 Republican Congressmen, food and rooms for two nights cost $4,406 tax dollars each. That’s $2,200 a day – more than most Americans spend on their monthly mortgage payment.
CBS News asked members of Congress and staff about whether they’re mindful that it’s public tax dollars they’re spending. Many said they had never even seen the bills or the expense reports.
Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., is a key climate change player. He went to Copenhagen last year. Last week, we asked him about the $2,200-a-day bill for room and food.
“I can’t believe that,” Rep. Waxman said. “I can’t believe it, but I don’t know.” CBS News
Nancy Pelosi filed the disclosure and it had the names of everyone on it but that does not excuse Waxman or anyone else from not knowing how much this cost. They were spending OUR money for this trip and it is up to all of them to be fiscally responsible with our money. There is no excuse for not knowing how much of the taxpayer money was involved. They should know it before they ever embark on a trip and they should take decisions that involve the most judicious use of OUR money.
This is the attitude that one sees from people who are spending someone else’s money. If the money came out of their pockets they could tell you down to the shiny new Lincoln cent how much it was going to cost and how much it ended up costing. But since they are not paying the bills, they don’t really care.
They remind me of children whose parents have given them a credit card that is paid for, no matter how much is charged each month, by the parent. The kids do not learn responsibility and they spend frivolously because it is someone else’s money.
We need people in Congress who will look out for our interests and who will be good stewards of our money.
It is time to vote them all out and put fiscal watchdogs in there regardless of what party they claim as their own.

More Global Warming
Jan 3, 2010 Political
Looks like Global Warming is making a big comeback:
Accuweather
A blizzard will wind down across northern New England and the St. Lawrence Valley today. However, strong winds will whip across the entire Northeast. Blowing and drifting of snow will cause more trouble for motorists.
al-Reuters
Heavy snow hit Beijing on Sunday, stranding thousands of passengers at the main airport and casting an unusual quiet over normally busy streets as people stayed out of the freezing weather.
Telegraph UK
Britain is bracing itself for one of the coldest winters for a century with temperatures hitting minus 16 degrees Celsius, forecasters have warned.
CBS2 Chicago
A man whose body was found in a park on Chicago’s South Side is Cook County’s fourth confirmed cold-related death.
Eyewitness News 9
Forecasters say the coldest stretch of weather in years if not decades could be heading for North Carolina.
Thank God all those people went to Copenhagen last month to fix this problem. If they had not met we might be melting right now.
At least the Pope is on board with the need to stop Global Warming:
Pope Benedict used his traditional New Year address on Friday to call on people to change their lifestyles to save the planet, saying environmental responsibility was essential for global peace.
Blizzards, ice, freezing temperatures, people freezing to death (in Obama’s hometown no less); thank God Al Gore and the minions stopped the Earth from warming.
Hey Al, looks like the planet no longer has a fever.
You can thank me, I dumped Tylenol down the storm drain.

If There Is Nothing To Hide, Why Cut Off Debate?
Dec 14, 2009 Political
The global warming crowd stands by its assertions that the science is settled and that we no longer need to debate the issue. This despite growing concern about the shenanigans that have taken place with manipulated and hidden data. Science should not need to have tricks and should not allow the conclusion to dictate the “facts.” The facts should lead to the conclusion.
When the conclusion is in doubt or when there is disagreement then scientists should continue to do research to discover a truth. When the truth is invented, or if it looks like the truth was invented, then people are naturally skeptical.
Thus is the case with global warming and the people like Al Gore who spout about disasters of apocalyptic proportions. We are all going to die as the world melts. Yeah, right.
What is more likely is that Al Gore and many others stand to get very rich by hyping up this “crisis.” It sort of reminds me of all the Swine Flu hysteria which now turns out to be not so bad. When all is said and done the Swine Flu will likely not be any worse than the regular seasonal flu, just like I said when the hype first started.
One question people need to ask is, if this is settled and the science is sound why are people who are seeking answers cut off? Security guards in Copenhagen stopped a reporter from asking questions about Climategate and the issue of global warming. The guard threatened to take camera equipment and throw the reporter out.
This is how the settled science is debated. If you disagree, jackbooted Nazis storm in and remove you. Al Gore says he will debate the issue but he rejects requests to debate it and always says the science is settled.
At one time the science was settled that the Earth was flat. At one time the science was settled that heavier than air flight was impossible. At one time the science was settled that smoking was OK and doctors even hawked cigarette brands.
Science changes as new information becomes available. The only time an issue is cut off from debate is when people have something to hide.

Bill Clinton Wants To Go To Copenhagen
Dec 5, 2009 Satire
A lot of people are going to Copenhagen for the Climate Summit where they can discuss how to impose massive amounts of taxes on countries (read taxpayers) in order to force rich countries to pay for what now has turned out to be an unsettled issue.
The prostitution industry thrives there and Copenhagen Mayor Ritt Bjerregaard sent postcards to the hotels telling guests not to visit the brothels. It seems she does not want this trade, that is legal there, to continue.
The prostitutes are fighting back. They will give free sex to anyone who arrives at a brothel with one of the postcards.
Bill Clinton has now asked to go to the Summit. Word has it that he is collecting as many of the postcards as he can get his hands on.
He promised to split them with Hillary.
Barack Obama cut back his schedule for Copenhagen and when asked about the free sex he replied; “I don’t need any more sex. I get to screw America everyday and I get paid to do it.”
