Congressional Republicans Are Cowards

It is easy to be brave and take a stand when there are no consequences. We see this all the time in politics when a member of the House or Senate is up for reelection and there is a vote on something that person’s constituents do not like. After the numbers are counted if the measure will pass without that member’s vote then the leader gives permission for the member to vote against the issue thus painting a picture of a person who works for and listens to the people.
It is all hogwash. It is political theater at its finest and the Republicans in Congress have their theatrics on full display. There is no way for them to hide it like is normally done because all of them are shown for the hypocritical cowards they are.
What am I talking about, you ask?
Well, it is about Obamacare. You see, a long time ago that horrible bill passed without any Republican support. Republicans told us if we wanted to do anything about it we needed to put them in the majority. We did that in the House and gave them a commanding lead. House Republicans, “emboldened” by their new majority passed a few bills to repeal Obamacare. But they went nowhere so we were told that we needed to give them the Senate as well.
We did just that so now, with the House and the Senate, Republicans went about passing bills to repeal Obamacare. Those went nowhere because of procedure and because Obama, as president, would veto any bill that repealed his socialized medicine law. Give us the White House Republicans cried and we will get rid of Obamacare. We will repeal it because it is no good but we need the White House.
So we gave them the White House and suddenly there are no repeal bills. There is talk of fixing Obamacare or repealing and REPLACING it with something else. There is talk of everything except repealing it and there have been no bills introduced.
It should be very easy. The Republicans could introduce the bill they last voted on when Obama was in office. They all vote on that repeal bill and once it passes both chambers it goes to Trump to be signed into law, presto-chango the law is repealed.
But you see, that would require courage. It took no courage to pass bills repealing Obamacare when the Democrats had the Senate and the White House. Republicans could talk tough and pass a bill repealing Obamacare knowing full well it would never make it to law. There was no risk but lots of reward. The members could go home and tell people they voted to repeal but doggone it without control of Congress and the White House they just couldn’t do it. Look, we tried hard and we passed a full repeal and by golly if we had control Obamacare would be on the ash heap of history where it belongs, can you support me with $25, or $50 or even $75 as I fight the evil Obama machine?
They were so courageous when there was nothing to lose and when the bills could not possibly pass.
But now that Donald Trump won and Republicans have full control of the government these brave warriors have put the brakes on and are taking a longer look. They are also discussing ways to REPLACE Obamacare rather than just repealing it as they promised when they had nothing to lose.
They talk now of people who will lose coverage and angry voters who might vote them out of office if they repeal this albatross. They are being more cautious because now there will be consequences for their actions. It is easy to talk tough when you have no risk, or as Joe Biden might say, skin in the game.
Once the risk is there the risk averse Republicans cower in the corner with their thumbs in their mouths.
What they need to fear is the backlash of the voters who supported them and voted for them BECAUSE they said they would repeal Obamacare. What they should fear is the base of voters who will primary them or vote for their Democrat opponent if they do not do as they promised and as they did when there was no risk and vote to REPEAL (and not replace) Obamacare.
They can give it a sunset date so that people on the exchanges have time to transition but they MUST repeal this thing or they will pay a political price.
My Congress critter is Dr. Andy Harris. I will NOT vote for him for anything (primary or general should he win the primary) if Obamacare is not repealed.
I don’t want to hear excuses or be told I don’t understand or that it is complicated or any other BS from Harris or any other Republican.
All you need to do is sack up and vote for the very last repeal bill you passed when Obama was there to save you from actually accomplishing the task.
All you have to do is pass the repeal bill and sent it to President Trump to sign.

Only Cowards Attack Gravesites

When people die and are buried their graves should be left alone. I would not think I would have to type that but it appears as if there are people in society who think it is perfectly OK to deface graves and markers because they did not like the person or what that person did while alive.
Vandals defaced graves belonging to people buried in the Confederate section of a North Carolina cemetery. These cowards, and make no mistake they are cowards, spray painted “KKK” and “White Supremacist” on headstones of a few high ranking Civil War officials and when they were finished their rampage over $20,000 in damage was done.
The people who did this are low life cowards. They did it under cover of darkness because they do not have the courage of their convictions to do it in broad daylight because then they could get caught and be in trouble. They are cowards.
They certainly do not have the courage that would be required to address this with the person in question had they been around in that era. No, they are cowards.
If one does not like the Confederate Flag or the Confederate soldiers or the Civil War or any of it then fine. It is a free nation and people are free to like or dislike what they want. They do not however, have the right to destroy property. This is the environment we live in today. If people don’t like something they destroy it (Ferguson, Baltimore).
Imagine if people who do not like DC and what goes on there held the same philosophy…
How about we follow a time honored tradition of leaving the dead alone. I know we can attack the dead over policies or how they lived their lives just as we praise the dead for the same. Vandalizing graves and monuments is a bit too much.
I hope they catch whoever did this and put them in jail for a while. Then I hope they get about 1000 hours of community service and they have to wash confederate grave markers and monuments the ENTIRE time.
And they should have to pay the cost to repair the damage they caused. Hell, their community service could be extended until that debt is paid off or we could confiscate all their possessions to make up for the loss.
I don’t like Barack Obama and if I outlive him I would not deface his grave and I would stop anyone I saw doing that. Respecting the burial sites of the dead is part of being in a civilized society.
The animals who defaced the graves in North Carolina should be removed from society for a while, you know, so they have time to think about what they did.

Boehner And McConnell Are Ineffective Cowards

Give us control and we will stop Obama and his illegal orders on immigration. We will take the fight to him for you. We have the House but we need the Senate or we can’t do anything. Give us the Senate and things will be different.
Yes, the lip service John Boehner and Mitch McConnell gave us before the election was right on and they said all the right things. There were many of us who pushed for both of them to face a primary opponent to get rid of them. But folks like Ann Coulter (who I happen to love) said we can’t do that because getting control was most important and if we lost McConnell’s seat then we might not get the Senate and that is what we needed.
Well, we gave them the Senate and they are doing the same thing they did when they were in the minority. They are bending over and letting the Democrats have their way with them. The Republicans in the Senate are acting like they are in the minority by letting Reid and the Democrats run all over them and Boehner is caving to the Senate and giving them what they want.
But Big Dog, the Democrats are blocking the Senate with tactics and it is hard work.
Yes, I know the Democrats are doing all the very things they screamed and threw fits about when they were in the majority. They hated when Republicans did these things but they found ways around them. McConnell is not quite bright enough to do it the way Reid did.
So he will just bend over and take it like a jailhouse punk.
Here is what McConnell should have done. He should have changed the rules so that only 51 votes were needed to pass the legislation. Then it would pass and be sent to Obama who would have to sign it or veto it. If he vetoed it he AND HE ALONE would have been responsible for shutting down the DHS (which would not really shut down because they are mission essential). McConnell did not have the guts to do that even though Harry Reid did it and it was accepted by Democrats. They would have to accept it if McConnell did it and anyone who screamed could be reminded that they were warned that it would one day come back to bite them in their large asses.
Boehner could have slid his wretched self out of the bottom of a bourbon glass long enough to make it clear he would not change his position. He could have coached McConnell to use the Reid option and get it done. These two could have had a united front.
Instead they were both too busy worrying about what people might think of the process.
Screw how people feel. There is an out of control Executive who is ignoring the Constitution. He has become a tyrant and the supposed leaders of the Republicans in Congress are letting him get away with it.
It leads me to believe that they want this illegal action on immigration to go through. Yes, they say it is in the court but there is no guarantee the court will uphold the law. The tyrants in the black robes are as bad as the tyrant in the White House. They are all part of the downfall and they need to be stopped.
But Boehner and McConnell are not up to the job. They said they were. They begged us to give them the job. They promised they would do these things.
And in the end all we have are two ineffective cowards who are too busy applying Vasoline to do their jobs.
Obama will not stop here. He is already working on ways to use Executive Orders to raise taxes (first on corporations but it will not stop there). This will be a blatant violation of the Constitution but Boehner and McConnell have already shown they are not up to the task. They will not stop the tyrant Obama.
We will be taxed without representation. Does that sound familiar? It should. That is what led 3% of this nation to fight the Brits for Independence.
A hell of a lot more that 3% are fed up in this country and it is now quite obvious that Boehner and McConnell are impotent. We gave them a chance and they failed.
The only solution to the tyranny lies in the hands of the patriots.

It is our birthright, it is our duty and it is our destiny to unshackle the bonds placed by an oppressive and tyrannical government and to form new one. Our Founders did just that and they did it over a lot less than what is going on now.
The time is coming because Obama and the rest of the lawbreakers have put us on a collision course. I pray to God that we avoid such a situation but Boehner and McConnell have shown us they are nothing more than different wings of the same bird and they do not have the interest of the American people at heart.
They are cowards who lack the ability to stand up for what is right. We need some real leadership to step forward or I fear this nation is headed for major unrest.
For now we are stuck with these two impotent twerps who have betrayed us. My friends, please do not donate to the Republican party. Screw them. Keep your money and do something useful with it. These pricks will just take you for a ride and dump you in the desert.
Starve the beast and the next time pundits tell you it is more important to gain control than to get rid of bad politicians remind them of these two and how ineffective they are even with the majority.

Darth Boehner And The RINO Empire Strike Back

John Boehner was reelected as Speaker of the House even though he faced the strongest revolt since about the time of the Civil War. More than twenty Republicans cast a vote for someone else as Speaker. This is supposed to be their vote and they can do with it as they wish. These folks were upset that Boehner continually gives in to Barack Obama and the Democrats and they were particularly upset with the most recent budget deal that fully funds Obamacare and does not stop Obama’s illegal actions on immigration.
After Boehner won he started exacting revenge on those who voted against him. Two members have been removed from the Rules Committee and one has been removed as the sponsor (or cosponsor) of a bill.
According to a recent poll 60% of Republicans who voted wanted John Boehner replaced as Speaker. I am one of those people. Boehner has shown no backbone and his tear filled emotions do not portray an image of a strong leader. Certainly there are appropriate times to cry but this man blubbers when the lights get turned on.
Republicans who opposed Boehner knew there would be hell to pay despite assurances from the Speaker that this would not happen. Here is a shocker, Boehner lied. Of course he is not doing it directly. His surrogates are doing it to keep him from being the one pulling the trigger. It is a cowardly way to do business.
Boehner and the Republicans run around telling us how they plan to turn things around and govern as conservatives but it is all smoke and mirrors. Representatives were more concerned with committee assignments and office space than they were the well being of the Republic. They turned their backs on the people who put them in office.
Boehner now has a larger majority and will rarely need the votes of the small group of actual conservative members but I am willing to bet that things are going to get real nasty real fast.
It is a shame that Boehner, who ridiculed Pelosi’s and Obama’s leadership, has turned out to be quite like them. He is mean spirited and petulant and punishes those who disagree with him.
I remain a registered Republican because you have to have party affiliation to vote in my state’s primaries but I am done with the party.
I am a conservative and will support politicians who espouse conservative values.
On the plus side, this vote and the childish behavior of the crybaby Speaker will allow me to have quite a bit of fun the next time some Republican group calls to beg for my money.
Republicans, enjoy what you have right now because the way you act and govern you will not be in power very long. I would not be surprised to see the Senate flip back in 2016 as the nation gets a new Democrat/Socialist as President and it will all be due to your lack of conservative values.
Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election because millions of Republicans stayed home out of disgust. How many do you think will stay home in 2016?
I won’t stay home because I see voting as a civic obligation BUT I will not be voting for my Representative. I imagine there will be plenty of folks who feel the same way.
The Republicans and the Democrats in Congress are not very different. They are different wings of the same bird and they are taking us in the same direction to the same place.
The biggest difference is Democrats are taking us there on a jetliner and the Republicans are on a freight train.
The end result is the same and with Boehner as the conductor there will be no switching tracks though he might upgrade to the express train.
I might be wrong and the reality is only time will tell but I doubt Boehner will get tough on Democrats after he has been working with them for so long. I would like to see him be as tough on them as he is on the real conservatives (particularly the Tea Party types) in Congress but that is unlikely to happen. He might surprise me but with rumors flying that he will help with amnesty for the law breakers here illegally and with his actions to push a spending bill until the end of the fiscal year I doubt we will see much to be happy with from him.
This country is in decline and the list names leading the charge starts with Obama and includes Boehner…

Civil Tone From Biden And We Are Still Heading For Ruin

Joe Bite Me Biden and the rest of the limp wristed Democrats would not call Nidal Hasan, the Muslim Terrorist Soldier who shot his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood, a terrorist. We were cautioned not to jump to conclusions. A man screaming Allah Akbar and shooting American soldiers is not considered an act of terror and we were cautioned not to jump but let the elected people of this country oppose the careless spending of the government and they are terrorists. Democrats including Vice President Joe Biden called the TEA Party members of Congress terrorists (Biden denies saying it).
You see, these morons do not want civil discourse and they do not want debate. They want things their way and anyone who disagrees is a terrorist. The folks who had TEA Party support made pledges not to raise taxes and not to increase the debt ceiling unless it was linked to a balanced budget amendment. Those things are not taking place and the TEA Party members of Congress rejected the ideas. This makes them terrorists.
Yes, if you stand on your principles and keep your word then you are a terrorist. The Democrats will demonize Americans and caution us not to jump to conclusions when it concerns our enemies. Is there any doubt where their loyalties lie and that they will put politics before country? If demanding fiscal responsibility and demanding that our country spend less and be more prudent is what makes a terrorist then color me a terrorist but keep in mind that it is the people opposed to the ideas of smaller, more efficient government who are ruining this nation.
The debt limit vote still needs to pass the Senate and I am holding out hope that it will be stopped. The deal will increase taxes in 2012 when the Bush tax cuts expire and the tax increases under Obamacare take effect. The FICA lower taxes will also go back up. These are tax increases and they will hurt us. The CBO would rate extending the Bush tax cuts as costing us 5 trillion in revenue (this is how the goofy math is done in DC) so if the tax cuts expire is that not a 5 trillion dollar tax increase that must be offset by 5 trillion in cuts? And I want the cuts to be immediate and not over ten years. If you can’t spread tax increases and debt increases over ten years then I don’t want the cuts spread over that time.
The liberals said we had to raise the debt limit or we would default, lose our AAA rating and pay higher interest rates. First of all, the only way we could have defaulted is if Obama made a willful decision not to pay the people we borrowed money from. We have the income to do that so there is no way we could have defaulted on the debt. We would have had to cut some spending on programs that the government is not obligated to pay for and can stop at any time so there is no real issue there. We would not have defaulted. In addition, we will likely lose our AAA rating anyway. So we will have trillions more in debt, higher taxes and we will be paying higher interest rates as a result of the debt increase. Way to go Congress. I hope you libs are happy that you gave us the double whammy.
Did I say double whammy? I meant triple whammy. The libs said we could not default (their words, not mine) and that if we did, in addition to losing our credit rating we would also have a double dip recession. One commenter keeps saying it is the double dip I (and other conservatives) kept hoping for. That is not the truth. None of us wanted it to happen but we knew from history and the reckless spending that it likely would. Now it looks as if it is already here (and it took place well before this debt issue festered into what it is now). In other words, the Obama policies caused it and not the debt limit issue.
To top it all off the Republicans broke their pledge to post all legislation online 3 days prior to any vote. The debt limit bill was not posted for an entire day before it was voted upon. The Republican information on that part of the pledge indicates that it pertains to non emergency items but the original Pledge to America they signed contained no such language.
They broke their word and did not post it 3 days in advance. They have not been transparent and have been nothing more than what the Democrats are. Liars.
Well, not the ones who stood their ground and did not vote for this crappy deal.
America is going to suffer greatly and the Republicans gave Obama and the Democrats a way to blame it on the right. The Republicans gave in and will now, at the least, share the responsibility for the coming disaster. That is unless the Democrats find a way to blame it all on the right.
Stick to your principles and vote for what is right and what your constituents want. If you do that then you will be supported. if you don’t then you will be kicked to the curb.
Have the courage of your convictions and keep your word.
