ACORN Dirt Keeps Piling Up

Looks like the ACORN office in San Diego (that demonstrated fraud like this) is not the only one that has been breaking the law by dumping thousands of papers containing personal information. ACORN beat feet out of an office in Oklahoma last year so it could avoid paying the back rent it owed (no wonder they help people get loans they can’t even hope to pay back) and the group left behind a lot of paperwork and a computer. The paperwork included the group’s plan for putting the right politicians in office. The document posted at Big Government leaves no doubt that ACORN is a liberal organization dedicated to assisting the Democratic party. It is interesting the way they describe neighborhoods with Anglos in them (as if that is a bad thing).

Looks like ACORN is in violation of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act which governs how personal information is handled by certain institutions (of which ACORN is one). The documents dumped include credit reports (like the one found here), social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, addresses, dates of birth and all kinds of information that would be very useful to someone interested in stealing an identity.

The fine for failing to safeguard this information is $100,000 per incident. Since there are tens of thousands of papers containing tens and thousands of breaches of personal information, ACORN should be bankrupt and out of business when they get done with the fines.

I am amazed at the number of people who continue to defend this organization. It is rotten to the core and just when you think you have seen it all a new item pops up to expose them even more.

This group is a bunch of community organizing thugs who break or skirt the law in order to advance a political agenda just like their former mentor, Barack Obama or B-HO, as it were.

Each day Breitbart releases another item that exposes the corruption of ACORN.

He has promised that if the Attorney General does not launch a serious investigation then a lot of stuff will be released before the 2010 election.

That’s one way to take down the Democrats. Take down their community organizing firm.

Why Government Can’t Run Health Care

The government is working on passing a health care takeover package that will cost upwards of $2.5 trillion over the actual first ten years of its life. They claim it will cost less than a trillion over ten years but they do that by counting ten from the passage and taxing people from the passage but only providing care four or five years after passage. They will get a four or five year head start on the money in order to pay for it. You cannot sustain a program where you have to tax for ten years to provide for five. The first ten years where actual health care is provided will cost at least 2.5 trillion dollars. They are using budget voodoo to fool the public.

The government claims it will save money by eliminating fraud in Medicare. If they could eliminate the fraud why have they not done it up to this point? How about they take a few years and eliminate the fraud and let us see the results before they try to get us on board with their health plan? The government has 98 billion dollars of fraud this year (and it is not over) with most of it being in Medicare.

Shouldn’t we expect them to have concern for this and to be addressing it with or without the reform they want?

Regardless of the costs, government cannot run the health care program because it will be a disaster. We already know that they cannot run Medicare and that it is rife with fraud. They have admitted that the fraud is there but they have done nothing to end it in the entire time it has existed. This is because government is wasteful and is not very good at oversight.

Case in point, Recovery.gov, the website that was designed solely to track the stimulus. It was supposed to be a transparent way for Americans to see how the money was being spent and how many jobs are being created. I know they claim to report jobs saved but that is a nonsensical item that cannot be tracked or quantified. There is no way to determine a “saved” job. I discount any saved job as a lie.

The government website is full of inaccuracies and probably lies. I say lies because all of the errors that have been caught were errors of over reporting. If there were mistakes one would expect that some of them would be under reporting. After the initial issues with the site the government spent 18 million dollars to revamp it. For 18 million dollars they should be able to buy a server farm with enough bandwidth to stream a concert to 1000 people and still have money left over to pay someone who knows how to be accurate when reporting. That seems like an awful lot of money for a website. Do they have the entire graduating class of MIT working on it?

The government could not get the website to work (which might mean they could not hide the lies well enough) so they spent 18 million to make it better. It still is not working because they are reporting jobs created in districts that do not exist. The reports of jobs created are being shot down time and again by the likes of ABC news and the entire project has done nothing to instill confidence in the government’s ability. One would think that with the kind of money they spent and the talent they can hire they would get it right.

But they did not. So they did what government always does when a plan fails. They threw more money at it and it still failed.

If the government is unable to spend 787 billion dollars on a stimulus and track that money as well as the jobs created then how are they going to run health care? The stimulus program has fraud that has been reported, fraud they acknowledge is inherent in a program of this size. The size pales in comparison to the health care takeover so how much ineptitude and fraud will that have? I know that Obama and his party claim they will end the fraud but they have failed to do so thus far with Medicare and they could not stop it in the stimulus. I have read they are considering another stimulus. Like with the website, they will throw more money at a failed program.

Imagine the amount of fraud that will accompany their health care reform. The reform will be much larger than Medicare and it has billions in fraud. The reform is much larger than the stimulus and it has billions in fraud. How many billions of dollars in fraud will result from their health care takeover plan?

Government is not able to run a simple website that it spent a whopping $18 million on and it is unable to stop the fraud in Medicare. It is also unable to track recovery money accurately or to prevent fraud in that program.

What moron believes that government will do better with health care?

Fraud, Waste, and Abuse.

Those three words more accurately describe nearly all government programs. Why would any sane person put one sixth of our economy in their hands?

I encourage you to visit Recovery.Gov. You paid over 18 million for it, you own it, so you might as well use it.

But don’t believe anything you read there.

**I incorrectly stated that the website cost 18 Billion dollars when it was Million. Each occurrence was changed. Thanks to commenter Mike for pointing out the mistake.

Here Is How Stimulus Money Was Wasted

The nearly trillion dollar stimulus that had to be passed immediately but that very little of has been spent (as a percentage) is being wasted and has done little in the way of providing jobs. Obama told us we needed to pass it NOW or unemployment would go above 8.5% and now it is nearly 10%. The purpose of the stimulus was to pay off special interest groups for supporting Democrats. Here are a few items that stimulus money was spent on. Please feel free to chime in and tell me how they stimulated the economy:

– $300,000 for a GPS-equipped helicopter to hunt for radioactive rabbit droppings at the Hanford nuclear reservation in Washington state.

– $30 million for a spring training baseball complex for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies.

– $11 million for Microsoft to build a bridge connecting its two headquarter campuses in Redmond, Wash., which are separated by a highway.

– $430,000 to repair a bridge in Iowa County, Wis., that carries 10 or fewer cars per day.

– $800,000 for the John Murtha Airport in Johnstown, Pa., serving about 20 passengers per day, to build a backup runway.

– $219,000 for Syracuse University to study the sex lives of freshmen women.

– $2.3 million for the U.S. Forest Service to rear large numbers of arthropods, including the Asian longhorned beetle, the nun moth and the woolly adelgid. Washington Examiner

Money for a helicopter to look for rabbit turds, money to study the sex lives of college women (I know a bunch of guys who would do that for free), money for the Murtha airport (a money pit), money to build a bridge between two Microsoft buildings and money to build a stadium for baseball teams.

What does any of this have to do with stimulus? In addition, why are we taxpayers building anything for Microsoft? Bill Gates is one of the wealthiest people in the country. He gives away more money than anyone can imagine and we have to pay for a bridge for his buildings? Why are we paying for a baseball stadium? Can’t the wealthy team owners or the taxpayers of the state pay for it? Most of us will never go there to watch a ball game and we damn sure will not get any revenue the teams generate so why are we paying for their stadium?

Why are we using stimulus money to mess with arthropods?

This is the kind of waste and abuse that one expects and knows will happen when government is involved. This is the kind of waste we see in Medicare and it is the kind of waste we will see in the government takeover of health care.

We still have quite a bit of unspent stimulus money and we should put a halt to further spending.

None of these items can be defended. None of them created any jobs (not lasting ones) and none of this spending is what America had in mind.

The Democrats always talk about Republicans taking care of the rich. I fail to see how the Democrats are any different when they spend OUR money to build something for Bill Gates or baseball teams.

Vote all of them out of office in 2010.

This kind of spending is irresponsible and should not be tolerated.

Liberal Doesn’t Mean Legal

Well, you can tell whose party is who’s- Republicans, when they are caught in illegal shenanigans, are prosecuted- and leave office. When liberals, or Democrats, or socialists are caught in some nefarious scheme, they double down on the bad behavior. Such is the case of Charlie Rangel, the head of the committee that writes the tax code- the patron saint of CPAs.

Apparently he can’t read his own tax code, or even hire anyone to help his decrepit butt to do so. As a result, he finds himself embroiled in a mysterious “ethics investigation” that was supposed to be over and done a year ago, but as usual, the Libs are dragging their feet.

Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.) sat stone-faced as the House chamber buzzed around him, preparing to vote on a measure that could partly undo his almost four decades of work in Congress.

As Republicans pressed their attempt to remove him from his perch as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Democrats stood by Rangel — who is under investigation for a series of alleged violations that include improperly occupying several rent-controlled New York City apartments and not disclosing a laundry list of income and assets — and deflected the measure to committee.

washingtonpost.com

Of course Dems stood by him- they do not want to lose such an accomplished crook- they still have so much to learn at the feet of a master scam artist. His range is so exquisite- from apartments that are rent- controlled, to a slew of automobiles, to vacation paradises he claims he “knew nothing about”. Yeah- right!

The Republican-sponsored resolution said Rangel was unfit to serve as the chairman of the powerful committee that writes tax laws while he remains under investigation. Democrats blocked the move, sending the resolution by  Rep. John Carter(Tex.) to the ethics committee and saying Congress should not act until that panel completes its investigation.

The resolution was the fourth attempt by Republicans in the past 16 months to censure Rangel or strip him of his committee chairmanship. House Republican leaders pushed their members to back the resolution against the Harlem lawmaker, arguing that his conduct violated pledges from  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in 2006 to oversee the “most ethical Congress in history” and end what she called “the culture of corruption” when Republicans ruled the House.

washingtonpost.com

Oh Snap! You didn’t think that Nanny Pelosi actually meant what she said, did you?  You silly wabbit!  Tricks are for libs.

Republicans keep trying to make Demmies do the right thing, something apparently very permissive and negligent parents never taught these people- morality- but these libs are resistant to doing the right thing. If they were a horse I was trying to make ridable, well, I would have given up by now and sent these to the slaughterhouse, because that would be all they would be good for- dog food.

In an occurrence rarely seen on the House floor, Carter read his resolution — nine pages and more than 2,000 words. While other members talked to aides or read, Rangel sat silent and expressionless in the first row on the Democratic side of the aisle, eyes fixed on Carter.

“We can already hear the defense of the next tax deadbeat called into court. ‘If Charlie Rangel doesn’t have to pay his taxes, why should I?’ ” Carter said, quoting from an editorial in the New Haven Register.

Carter listed nearly every allegation against Rangel, who himself called for the ethics committee to examine his conduct last year. Rangel admitted last month that he failed to report more than $500,000 in assets on his 2007 federal disclosure forms. Last year, he acknowledged failing to disclose and pay taxes on at least $75,000 in rental income from a villa in the Dominican Republic that he has owned.

He has been accused of improperly using congressional stationery to solicit donations for an academic center bearing his name at the City College of New York and attending a conference last year in St. Martin that was paid for by donors who employ lobbyists, a violation of House rules.

washingtonpost.com

He has flouted House rules with seeming abandon, and apparent glee- the rules do not apply to him- he has stolen money from the Federal government, plain and simple, and if it was you or I, we would already be behind bars, worrying about picking up the soap in the showers. Not Good Time Charlie. The rest of his posse, all as guilty as he, rally behind the Head of the Ways and Means Committee. Yep he has both the ways AND the means, and the rest of the Dems (and some Republican turncoats too) protect him.

On a list of reasons why people do not trust their government, Charlie Rangel has to be real close to the top, with John Murtha close behind.

And a whole bunch of libs bringing up the rear- their preferred position.

They will always be behind you- 100%.

All Show, No Go

Well, it is a fact, our Resident has no substance, and should in no way be taken seriously, at least by real men and women in the real world.
As we say in Texas, he is all hat and no cattle, someone you dismiss as not truly to be taken seriously- not a true player. He reminds me of the kid with big ears who comes up with the most outrageous lies, just to get attention. This is our leader- small “l”- because he is a small person in all except ego. To him, and probably by extension the rest of the WH, perception is reality.

Case in point- the photo op with selected “doctors” (I have the word “doctors” in quote marks, because I am not convinced that they are all, indeed, real doctors)- in order to make it more visually arresting, the WH staff handed out white lab coats so people could easily see the “sea” of white.

A sea of 150 white-coated doctors, all enthusiastically supportive of the president and representing all 50 states, looked as if they were at a costume party as they posed in the Rose Garden before hearing Obama’s pitch for the Democratic overhaul bills moving through Congress.

The physicians, all invited guests, were told to bring their white lab coats to make sure that TV cameras captured the image.

But some docs apparently forgot, failing to meet the White House dress code by showing up in business suits or dresses.

So the White House rustled up white coats for them and handed them to the suited physicians who had taken seats in the sun-splashed lawn area.

All this to provide a visual counter to complaints from other doctors that pending legislation is bad news for the medical profession.

nypost.com

150 doctors, if indeed they all were- from all fifty states. That works out to three doctors per state- not many are in favor of this plan.

Now we have dueling doctors- pro and anti- stethoscopes at ten paces- but this is all about perception, not substance for Nobama, because on substance, he loses every time. He is the ghost in the machine, and he’s trying his best to gum up the works for everyone else. I no longer even think he means what he says- he is too wrapped up in the illusion.

The president was flanked by four white-coated doctors at a podium as he delivered his pep talk.

“When you cut through all the noise and all the distractions that are out there, I think what’s most telling is that some of the people who are most supportive of reform are the very medical professionals who know the health-care system best,” the president said.

“I want to thank every single doctor who is here,” Obama said. “And I especially want to thank you for agreeing to fan out across the country and make the case about why this reform effort is so desperately needed.”

Underlying the strictly photo-op nature of the event, The Associated Press noted that Obama broke no new ground in his remarks.

nypost.com

Because there is never any new ground in an illusion- that is the nature of an illusion- it is unsubstantial at its core, and doesn’t get any more solid over time. Smoke and mirrors is just that- smoke and mirrors.

Speaking of which, now Bill Ayers, the Weather underground admitted murderer and domestic terrorist (Gee- don’t you want him for a friend? Perhaps a BFF?) admitted that the Resident did not actually write his book “Dreams of my Father”, but had Billy do it for him. I guess he was too busy organizing his “community”.

Anne Leary of Back Yard Conservative was passing through Washington, DC’s Reagan National Airport yesterday, and was surprised to come across Bill Ayers at Starbucks: “scruffy, thinning beard, dippy earring, and the wire rims, heading to order.” She struck up a conversation with him and snapped the accompanying photo. (Photo provided courtesy Anne Leary.)

I interviewed Anne this morning about it.

Ayers was in Washington, he told her, for a conference on education.

“That’s what I do, education,” he said. “You shouldn’t believe everything you hear about me… You know nothing about me.”

To which she responded, “I said, I know plenty–I’m from Chicago, a conservative blogger, and I’ll post this.”

I bet his heart skipped a beat on that one.

But he didn’t scowl, and didn’t run off as he has been known to do. Instead, unprompted, he blurted out: “I wrote ‘Dreams From My Father… Michelle asked me to.” Then he added “And if you can prove it we can split the royalties.”

examiner.com

Really? The authorship of that book, the one that launched our Faker in Chief’s Residential run, is in doubt?  Nobama lied? Are you really surprised? It would have been more convincing to me if the teleprompter had written it, instead of (allegedly now) Nobama. That Billy Ayers would make that claim strikes a chord of truth. It may actually be the most truthful statement we get out of anyone connected to this administration.

Was he, as she had asked, pulling our collective legs? Other sources report rumors that Ayers is very upset both about not getting any credit for helping Obama on ‘Dreams,’ and may also be put off by being summarily thrown under the bus along with Rev. Wright and everyone else who becomes an inconvenience to this President.

My understanding of communists is that most would know better and keep their mouths shut. But Ayers is a bit different. He is, as he says, a “small ‘c’ communist,” but he is also, in a certain, slimy way, an entrepreneur, as we explained in Monday’s post. (Apologies in advance to entrepreneurs everywhere.) He grew up a very rich kid, used to getting everything he wanted. Even as an adult his career has relied on a hand up from his wealthy father. His past statements and radical activities also mark him as a megalomaniac. In youth he drew attention to himself by blowing things up. As an adult “educator” he merely attempts to subvert children. But that doesn’t seem to be going so well.

He is under a lot of pressure, too. Ayers and his horrid wife Bernardine Dohrn are believed to have planned and executed the San Francisco Park Police Station bombing in 1970 that killed police sergeant Brian V. McDonnell and wounded several others. Efforts to bring them to justice have been underway for some time, as brought to light this past March in a National Press Club conference put on by Cliff Kincaid of America’s Survival.

examiner.com

Yep- just like everyone else liberal, he has an unsatisfied “inner child”- but then so does Nobama, who gets Billy to do his “homework” for him. Is there no one honest in this administration? I feel like I have the lantern in my hands, and I am looking for one, just one honest man in the administration.

I fear there is not a one- certainly Barry and the rest of his little cadre are liars one and all- their hero is obviously Josef Goebbels, with his grasp of propaganda, which just raises lying to an art form. As many “photo- ops” as his cabal have staged, a person could very reasonably be excused for not believing a single word that comes from politicians, especially the liberals in power now.

Perception is illusion- not reality.

Not with this administration.
