Prayers for the Muir Family
Oct 14, 2007 Uncategorized
Chris Muir, the talented artist who draws the Day by Day cartoon, has lost his sister to cancer. Catherine Forsythe lost her battle with that disease and has returned home to be with the Father.
Please take time out of your day to say a prayer for the family and for the soul of Catherine.
May she rest in peace in the strength and comfort of the Almighty.

Hospital Employees Suspended for Clooney Disclosure
Oct 9, 2007 Uncategorized
Forty hospital workers at Palisades Medical Center were suspended for disclosing George Clooney’s medical information to the media in violation of federal law. Clooney was involved in a motorcycle accident and within minutes his information was accessed and distributed to the media. This is a very serious matter but here is what a union spokesperson had to say:
“It was inappropriate but they are paying a steep price. But I don’t even think George Clooney would want people to pay. Again, the apology to him for his privacy rights [is necessary], but I think in fact the hospital is overreacting,” says Jean Oterson of the HPAA. WCBSTV
This union spokesperson thinks that these people paid a steep price for violating federal law with regard to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) which specifically forbids disclosure of patient information to unauthorized persons or entities. If this spokesperson thinks that the suspensions without pay are steep, wait until the feds get done:
Civil Penalties
Violations of the Administrative Simplification Regulations can result civil monetary penalties of $100 per violation, up to $25,000 per year.
Criminal Penalties
In June 2005, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) clarified who can be held criminally liable under HIPAA. Covered entities and specified individuals, as explained below, whom “knowingly” obtain or disclose individually identifiable health information in violation of the Administrative Simplification Regulations face a fine of up to $50,000, as well as imprisonment up to one year. Offenses committed under false pretenses allow penalties to be increased to a $100,000 fine, with up to five years in prison. Finally, offenses committed with the intent to sell, transfer, or use individually identifiable health information for commercial advantage, personal gain or malicious harm permit fines of $250,000, and imprisonment for up to ten years. AMA
These people will be fortunate if the suspension and loss of pay is as steep as it gets because the feds can really make life miserable for people who disclose health information. These workers received HIPAA training and they had an ethical and legal obligation to keep Clooney’s information private.
This is typical for unions. Also, notice how this person speaks for Clooney?

This new information will not bode well for those who thought they were insulting the President by referring to him as a chimp.
Chimps choose more rationally than humans

Kender has a Plan
Oct 6, 2007 Uncategorized
My friend Kender over at Kendeer’s musings has a plan to rid the country of liberals and their failed policies. It is quite radical and might not pan out for a while and it will certainly be painful in the end.
But it might just work…

Let Ahmadinejad Visit WTC Site
Sep 19, 2007 Uncategorized
President Ahmadinejad or Iran (the fellow who looks like one of the chimpanzees on planet of the Apes) wanted to visit the site where the World Trade Center Towers stood before they were knocked down by Muslims who stole airplanes and flew them into the buildings. He will be in New York to address the UN and he wanted to visit the site and lay a wreath there. It is unclear if he would be laying that wreath in memory of the victims or in memory of his fellow terrorists who flew the planes.
The request to visit was met with a lot of opposition from people who do not want him in this country much less near the WTC site. His country is a huge state sponsor of terrorism and he is supplying his terrorist brothers in Iraq with weapons to kill our soldiers. He is a menace to the world and he should be eliminated from the human race as quickly as possible. Having said that, I think that as long as he is going to be here we should let him visit the site.
I imagine it would be too much to ask that he be accidentally lost in New York where he might get to wander in an area that is not real big on following laws. Since that is probably out of the question, I think we should take him there and several thousand Americans should exercise their right to free speech and let him know how they feel. Additionally, we can use this visit as a teaching point.
Big Dog guiding Ahmadinejad around: Look nut job, If I had the chance I would rip your throat out and hand it to you before you made your virgin journey. Since I cannot do that, I want to show you something. Here we stand at the site of the worst attack on the American mainland. Look around you at all these people who are going about their business (besides the ones shouting at you). Now look around and tell me how many buildings you see that are still standing. Too many to count? Don’t worry, you get my point. Your Islamic buddies knocked down a couple of buildings and that is all. It was a tragedy and we lost about 3000 people total between here and the other two places. I want you to take a long, hard look at that hole in the ground and I want you to remember what it looks like. Now you listen and you listen good. That hole is what your country is going to look like in thousands of areas if you do not stop helping the bad guys and running your mouth. We will knock down every building in your country and Iran will look like that hole you see but many times over. There will be so many holes you will think Reuters Photo Shopped a picture of a hole, but it will be real. We will drop so many bombs so quickly that your rectal sphincter will tighten up so fast your ass will suck vinyl off the seat of your chair. I wanted to bring you here to see this and I wanted you to understand that we have had enough of your crap and that your time is limited. Now let’s get your sorry ass back to the UN before I tell these people they are free to bury you in this hole.
One of my instructors once told me that every encounter is a teaching opportunity. Let us allow this man to learn what he is dealing with.
It appears his request was denied. So much for teaching…
