Scientists not Warming to Global Warming
Dec 11, 2007 General
I have written a number of times about the many scientists in the world who do not agree with the idea of man-made global warming. These scientists are ignored and abused by the GW community in order to minimize their message, a message that says; “We do not agree with the conclusions presented by the UN and its scientists.” These scientists also believe that the reason for all the attention to GW is for people to get rich from it. This is not surprising since AL Gore is getting wealthier by the day while touting GW and selling carbon offsets. Interestingly, those attending the meeting in Bali generated more carbon that 20,000 cars in a year. I have been taken to task in the past by people who say there are not as many scientists against GW as there are for it. this, of course, is hogwash. The same people will tell me that the only scientists who disagree are paid by Exxon or some other petroleum company. I have maintained that many scientists who once believed in GW have changed their opinions after doing real research and that many of those who believe in GW are actually the ones being paid to do so. It would appear that a few scientists agree with me:
“Most of the people here have jobs that are very well paid and they depend on the idea that carbon emissions cause global warming. They are not going to be very receptive to the idea that well actually the science has gone off in a different direction,” Evans explained. EPW.Senate
The article is full of scientists who do not agree with the GW crowd and have presented scientific evidence to refute the GW community. Unfortunately, these scientists are ignored or castigated because they refuse to jump on the bandwagon and follow the Pied Piper into the abyss.
Take the time to read the linked article and read the references linked in it. I might be a denier in the eyes of the less informed but at least I am in good company.

Global Warming, Snow, and Maryland
Dec 4, 2007 General
The Baltimore Sun reports:
A U.S. Senate committee is scheduled for an historic vote on a global warming bill this week, perhaps as early as Wednesday. Environmental groups are planning a flurry of press conferences tomorrow (12/4/2007) to try to influence the vote.
Meanwhile, in Maryland, Gov. Martin O’Malley’s advisory Commission on Climate Change is scheduled to meet tomorrow to discuss possible steps to reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions. The 22-member goup [sic], headed by state Environmental Secretary Shari T. Wilson, is looking to recommend that the state adopt laws to cut greenhouse gases by 25 percent by 2020, and then move aggressively to slash the pollutants by 90 percent by 2050, according to a draft report. To achieve these goals, the state should tighten its energy efficiency standards, strengthen building codes, require more clean energy generation, among other steps.
The Senate might vote tomorrow on global warming. Coincidentally, the DC area is expected to get an inch or so of snow. This comes on the heels of a massive winter storm that killed more than a dozen people in the Northeast and a snowstorm in Colorado that delayed the opening of a ski resort…
Martin O’Malley of Maryland is getting his global bona fides by having his commission on climate change in time to beef up his resume for a position in a Clinton administration. If Governor O’Malley wants to clean up the toxic gases in Maryland all he needs to do is keep his mouth shut and gag the Democrats in Annapolis. Speaking of Annapolis, getting rid of that cess pool of legislators would go a long way toward cleaning up Maryland.
One thing is for sure. Whatever plan these nimrods come up with will involve tax increases on top of the recent tax hikes voted for by the jackasses in the state. The largest tax increase in the history of the state and it was done by none other than the Democrats. Couple that will all the new spending and they can hardly deny the tax and spend title they often try to hide.
I guess it will be another fun filled winter with global warming discussions while we freeze our rears off. If only we had actually invaded Iraq for its oil we would all be able to afford fuel for the winter…

An Example of Clinton’s Lack of Integrity
Nov 10, 2007 Political
Hillary Clinton’s campaign admitted today that it had been caught planting a question from an audience member at one of her campaign stops in Iowa. Clinton called on a young college student who asked a question about global warming and Clinton responded that she gets these kinds of questions all the time from the young people. My question is, if she gets these questions all the time why the need to plant it? Surely if she gets them all the time she would get it at this event.
There are many troubling items in the story. The story indicates that she did not know which questioners she would be calling on so why plant the question? How likely is it she would pick the plant unless she knew who it was? The article indicates:
“But the source of the question was no coincidence — at this event ‘they wanted a question from a college student,’ Gallo-Chasanoff said.” Fox News
The campaign is in defense mode because this might offend Iowans for whom “the caucus is held sacred and the impromptu and candid style of the town hall meeting is held dear, Clinton’s planted question may come as a great offense to Iowans.”
I realize that there are supporters of Clinton who will comment that all candidates do this. I am sure many of them do though she is the only one caught. More importantly, she is supposed to be presenting herself as a different choice for the voters. If she is doing the same thing as everyone else, how different is she?
I imagine there are even those who will say this is not wrong to do or that it is no big deal. I agree that it is no big deal but if I were running I would just address the issue without the questioner. But then again, the Clinton campaign wants to look like it is addressing the everyday concerns Americans (and the Chinese and Europeans) have. I have suspicions that she is not asked this all the time. If there is any doubt that it was viewed as wrong, even by the campaign, they pointed out that they believe it was when they stated:
“…it would not happen again.”
Of course, they might mean they won’t get caught again or they might mean not again as in Bill will not molest women again.
Despite the claims made by others, integrity does not seem to be held in high regard in that camp. Consider this post an example to support the claim (that she lacks integrity).
