Jail or Kill Dick Thompson
Dec 3, 2010 Political
That’s what the government says. The government is insisting that this peaceful man be jailed or killed. Why? Is he a murderer? Is he a rapist? Is he a terrorist or smoker?
No, actually, once again, government wants this man jailed or dead because he won’t obey government.
Mr. Thompson is apparently doing nothing. He is sitting back, minding his own business. He’s 72 years old, and he’s not bothering a soul. In his words, he “just want[s] to be left alone.” But, alas, this government cannot let that be. You see, the government has decided to punish Mr. Thompson for doing nothing. They will kill him if he disobeys.
Mr. Thompson lives on his land, minding his own business. He’s living on his 38 acres in a trailer. But the government doesn’t like that. They say he MUST buy electricity. They say he MUST buy water. And government says he MUST buy sewer services from them. If he refuses, he will be jailed or killed.
No, he’s not endangering anyone. No, he’s not even bothering anyone. But this government cannot have that. You must obey or the government will destroy you. How sad.
P.S. I suspect that the government wants his land to sell to a developer or some such crap. It’s nearly always about the money.

When Government Owns You
Nov 10, 2010 Political
The Social Security Act brought a new era of Socialism to America by allowing the government to confiscate some of our money and then dole it out to us when we retire. The amount of benefits is more than some paid in and less than others did. Along the way, Social Security expanded to cover things that it was never intended to take care of. It is a terrible system that does not allow us to decide what to do with our money. When we die (especially if we die before we retire) our money is just part of the pot and goes to someone else. We cannot pass it on to our heirs.
Social Security is also broke. Instead of putting the money aside so it could be used for retirement, the government issued worthless pieces of paper for the money and then spent it. Since there is no money, the people who currently work are paying for those who currently draw Social Security.
Social Security ensures that the elderly are slaves to the government. They depend on a monthly income that is subject to the whims of the people in Congress. Benefits can be cut and seniors have no say. Politicians use Social Security as a weapon to threaten the elderly and gain compliance.
When government holds your sustenance in its hands you will do what it wants.
Obama’s deficit panel has a draft of its recommendations and one of those is to cut Social Security benefits. The elderly will take it on the chin because, through no fault of theirs, the government is broke. If these folks had been able to invest their own money they would be better off and not held hostage by a government that uses them as pawns. It won’t be long before they use means testing to decide if we get Social Security. You can pay in but if you are successful you won’t get anything back. You will be paying for someone else’s retirement. It really is Socialism Security.
Combine the cuts with Obamacare and its rationing of care and the elderly are truly screwed.
We are responsible for our own future and it is not up to government to take our money and then dole it out to us, if it deems us worthy, when we retire.
Another thing the panel recommends is to remove the deduction for home mortgage interest. If the elderly still make house payments they will be in a bad way.
And so much for not raising taxes on the middle class.
At least the younger people have time to recover. The elderly are not so fortunate.
Your government should fear you. It should work for you and it should not be your master.
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Plasmus Maximus
Sep 18, 2009 Political
In the olden days, way back when, so far back that you would have to have studied history in order to grasp the timeline, (so that omits many liberals, who went to a college where history was not required), there was, in the city of Rome, a place called the Coliseum – a place where violence was waged on a regular basis.
This was the place where the populace had their escapist entertainment, their gladiators facing the wonders of the world, lions and tigers and elephants, oh my- all brought from the corners of the Roman Empire in order to placate the mob, which is the term the Roman “elites” gave to their populace (they just loved the people- you can always tell from the pet names). The Coliseum was the escapist entertainment that kept the population from noticing the way the Caesars and Senators were governing, or not- depending on the Caesar du jour.
The Coliseum was their Discovery channel, their Nascar, their football games. We have TV– that is our Coliseum, our “Circus Maximus”- often, that is all we look forward to, coming home after a hard day’s work at a job that might or might not suck like a wind tunnel. Our little window on the world. As much as things cost nowadays, this is it for many.
And now government wants to shrink our window- and this is a bad idea that rivals or possibly exceeds all the bad ideas this administration has had so far- the day is young, however, with the Resident in office less than a year. Admittedly, this idea begins in California- the Cereal State, Land of fruits, nuts, and flakes, but this is a small demonstration of what our Regulatory Czar, Cass Sunstein, wants for the rest of the nation.
Concerned that the growing popularity of big-screen televisions could make it harder for California to keep pace with electricity demand, state energy regulators are poised to crack down on energy-guzzling sets despite opposition from a powerful electronics trade group.
The first-in-the-nation TV efficiency standards would require electronics retailers to sell only energy-sipping models starting in 2011. Even tougher efficiency criteria would follow in 2013.
The California Energy Commission is slated to unveil the new standards today, followed by a 45-day public comment period. The commission is expected to approve the measure in early November.
The rules, which took more than a year to develop, are designed to shave $8.1 billion off Californians’ electricity bills over a 10-year-period. That works out to $30 per set per year, according to commission officials.
latimes.com/business
Now, I am all for efficiency, but how efficient are these sets, really? Will they actually have picture quality as good as the others? Because I gotta tell you- if I can’t see the blood fly in slo- mo, while watching a Tarantino film- that is not good enough for me- nor will it be for anyone else who will have to shell out more money (What? You didn’t think these new “greener” TVs would be Less expensive, did you?)
Oh yeah- this is how the regulatory Czar works- write a few regs that restrict the energy usage, or size, or whatever reason he wants to justify the shrinking of our lifestyle- and it will happen. Just imagine how the populace in ancient Rome would have reacted to the downsizing of the Coliseum- the riots and revolutions would have commenced forthwith.
It will also help California utilities head off the need to build more power plants just so residents can watch “American Idol” and other shows. TVs already account for 10% of residential energy use in California, driven largely by surging demand for large-screen TVs. Strict state mandates for cutting greenhouse gas emissions are further pressuring officials to act.
“Increased efficiency is the most cost-effective way of meeting our renewable-energy goals,” commission Chairwoman Karen Douglas said.
Environmentalists have applauded those efforts. But some industry groups, including the Consumer Electronics Assn., dispute the notion that the new efficiency rules would benefit consumers.
About a quarter of currently available television models would have to be pulled from store shelves, said Doug Johnson, senior director for technology policy with the Arlington, Va., group that represents TV makers, distributors, retailers and installers.
That could raise television prices, put home theater installers and wholesalers out of business and destroy jobs, he said.
The association contends that the regulations would force TV buyers to buy banned sets from out-of-state dealers over the Internet, depriving California retailers of customers and state and local governments of needed sales tax and corporate income tax revenue.
latimes.com/business
Don’t you just love those inhibiting regulations- instead of building more power plants, we’re going to downsize our life. There is a lack of common sense here- after all, unless John Holdren, Hussein’s Science Czar, succeeds in putting sterilants in our drinking water, (which I doubt, but which he did advocate), there are going to be more people, which should mean, in the land of Common Sense, that there would be more power generating stations, be they coal, hydro-electric, wind, or nuclear- but no! Instead, let’s downsize the TVs (That’s a good first step)- next, we’ll take control of how much total power you will be allowed to consume (already in the works), the size and kind of car we have to drive (check that one off of our list- done), and the kinds of food you will enjoy (enjoy is a subjective word- it might be better to say endure). Just remember the proposed tax on sodas and fruit drinks- that one’s coming.
But we will all be so much healthier, if not happier, if we just step aside and let these government people get on with our lives- it’s for our own good.
At least four out of five government goons say so.

I can’t believe Hussein has the gall to ask for more than six billion more dollars for transportation costs related to ongoing projects, simply because the federal gasoline taxes won’t cover the bill. This is due mostly to the economic decline that his party began, but he apparently doesn’t know this, because he has never held a real job, where he had to adhere to a budget, or be responsible for employees under his watch.
It’s no wonder that he thinks that all he has to do is print more money, despite warnings from the Chinese, for whom debt is a serious obligation. Somehow this hasn’t translated into anything Hussein has yet to understand, hence the request for more money.
” We’ll just print it, the Chinese were just kidding, besides I am Barak Hussein Obama and I transcend all- They will bow before me soon.” It would sure seem that these must be his thoughts- because what he is doing isn’t rational, in the least.
The Obama administration is warning lawmakers that the trust fund that pays for highway construction will go broke in August unless Congress approves an infusion of as much as $7 billion.
Sen. Barbara Boxer, chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said at a hearing Tuesday that the administration has told senators the Federal Highway Trust Fund will need an estimated $5 billion to $7 billion to keep current construction projects going.
The California Democrat said another $8 billion to $10 billion will be needed to keep the fund solvent through the year ending Sept. 30, 2010.
Transportation Department spokeswoman Jill Zuckman confirmed those figures.
“The administration is working closely with Congress to solve this difficult problem and ensure that states have the resources they need to maintain our roads and highways,” Zuckman said.

I want to speak for a minute about the state’s role in roads and transportation. The federal government has, through the years, insidiously slithered into the states’ domain, by offering first money for assistance, but then insisting on control of the projects. This is wrong- I might see that the Interstate system could be federalized, as it assists in interstate commerce, but state roads should be state controlled, with absolutely NO federal interference.
The states know best what suits their states needs than the Feds do, and that is just a logical fact, not to mention that this interference violates the Tenth Amendment regarding States Rights. Still, that hasn’t stopped them before.
Now, here comes a tax increase- yet another, on top of all the other tax increases that liberal socialists say are not true- and this “non-existent” tax increase will hurt the poor the most.
The law that authorizes federal highway programs is due to expire at the end of September, but the issue hasn’t been on Congress’ front burner. There is a consensus among transportation experts and lawmakers that there will have to be some form of a tax increase — always unpopular, but especially so in a recession — to make up for the lower gas tax revenues and to address a backlog of crumbling and congested highways, bridges and public transit systems.
Two congressionally mandated commissions have called for an immediate increase in the gas tax. The first commission, which issued its report in early 2008, recommended a 40-cent per gallon hike. The second panel, which issued its report earlier this year, recommended the tax be increased 10 cents per gallon for gas and 15 cents per gallon for diesel, and that both be indexed to inflation.
The two panels also said fuel taxes are not a sustainable source of revenue over the long term as drivers shift to more fuel efficient vehicles. Both panels recommended Congress find a new revenue source to pay for highway and transit programs.
chron.com
And guess how the new way these brainiacs are going to choose to tax us on fuel as our vehicles begin to be more fuel efficient? Ooohhhh, wait for the tingle down your leg- they want to track your mileage, and probably also track your whereabouts. Big Brother Hussein, oh Boy! I can hardly wait.
Their top recommendation was to tax motorists based on how many miles they drive. That would require equipping cars and trucks with devices that use GPS technology to record not only how many miles the vehicle was driven, but whether the driving occurred on interstate highways or secondary roads and whether it was during peak travel periods. The device would calculate the amount of tax owed and the bill could be downloaded.
A mileage-based tax system would take about 10 years to implement.

Yea, I am sure that this is NOT the Change most of the people voted for. I think it is probably fortunate for Hussein that fewer people are reading the papers these days. This way he might be able to fool the people long enough to shackle the people with GPS monitoring of their cars , then their person- who knows how far this could go.
And still the liberal socialists will excuse their exalted leader for destroying this country.
They have Brains You Don’t Use. That should be their real slogan.
