Democrats Rape Us Under Cover Of Darkness
Dec 21, 2009 Political
Senate Democrats are complaining that they are in DC this close to Christmas when they should be at home. People like the 300 million dollar woman, Mary Landrieu (D-LA), are blaming this on Republicans. It never ceases to amaze me how the Democrats, the party in power, blame their misfortunes on the minority party. The Senate is in session because Harry Reid wants them to be. That is the plain and simple truth. He sets the agenda, he sets the times and he decides when they will recess. He has taken the arbitrary deadline of Christmas to heart and his agenda reflects that.
Certainly Republicans could cave and say let’s just get it over with but why should they? As commenter Darrel noted with regard to Franken, they have rules and he followed them (with regard to cutting Lieberman off). There are rules and procedures as to how debate goes on and the Republicans are following those rules. If Landrieu and others are upset then their anger should be directed at the spineless wonder, Harry Reid. If he were a true leader he would have told them to go home for the holiday and return after the first of the year ready to get to work. He could not do that because his taskmaster in the White House needs something done by the end of the year. Besides, Reid is using the cover of darkness to hide what is in his bill and he certainly does not want it to be made public before any vote because the longer Americans have to review this stuff the more they hate it.
Landrieu should also remember that she is not the only one who had to be bribed to sign on to the monstrosity. It took a while for her to rape the country out of 300 million dollars and others had to take their turn at the trough. The list of bribes grew as more and more Democrats stepped up to the trough to feed on taxpayer money. Ben Nelson got millions of dollars for Medicare in his state (which most states did not get but all of us will pay for) and Chris Dodd put in for 100 million dollars for a hospital. Michelle Malkin has a list of bribes that were paid this time as well as a link to the bribes Harry paid earlier in the debate.
So while Democrats cry about not being home for a holiday that is the antithesis of their whole take on church and state, the rest of the nation prepares for the screwing it will get under Obamacare.
Barack Obama said he was pleased at the progress and that the arguments that this will cost more don’t “hold water.” Right, and it is only by sleight of hand that they can claim to save money. First of all, the CBO analysis was flawed and the CBO reported the flaw to Reid (and did the CBO factor in the cost of the bribes). Second of all, many costs are added to other bills to give the appearance that this is deficit neutral. The “doc fix” is added to other appropriations (this year it is in the defense bill) to hide it. This should come as no surprise since Democrats tried to openly introduce a separate bill for the doc fix and they told us it was to keep the cost off the health care books. This will add to the deficit and there is no getting around that. The creative accounting used by the government only hides the numbers on paper. In reality, we end up owing the money and that is why we have trillions of dollars in debt. They must think we have Monopoly money.
Of course, no Democrat legislation would be complete without the obligatory smearing of those who oppose the legislation as knuckle dragging racists who don’t know any better. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) gave us the race speech when he said:
They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.” [emphasis in original] Washington Times
Whitehouse was asked about the Aryan comment and he denied making it. The link contains the video of his speech and he absolutely says what he denies.
The we have Harry Reid playing the class warfare card.
All of this to justify taking over one-sixth of the economy and raping the public. All of this under the cover of darkness because while most of us slept, the Senate was in session raping the American people. Only a few things take place at night, rape and robbery being two of them.
The Senate bill still provides for abortion (and requires us all to pay for it) and it will cover illegal aliens. These are two things Obama said would not be in there.
So Landrieu and her ilk can complain about not being home for Christmas but I say too effing bad. You wanted to be a Senator and this is part of your job so shut the hell up and do your job. If you don’t like being there then don’t run for office. I notice that none of these people complain when they get weeks off at a time or are traveling around the world on the taxpayer dime. No, but if they have to work at Christmas time then the world is going to end. Mary Landrieu did not complain about being in session while she was raping the taxpayers out of 300 million dollars.
The Democrats are all walking off that precipice that Obama said they were near. They are blindly following the man child over the edge and he will not be able to save them in the next election. Americans are fed up with this BS and there will be hell to pay.
Ben Nelson was the 60th vote but Mitch McConnell said it well when he summed up the vote:
All it takes is one. Just one. One can stop it — or every one will own it. Commentary Magazine
Yes, any one of the 60 could have stopped it but now that it has passed every one of them owns it.
There can be no finger pointing at Republicans and there can be no blame assigned to any one person because they all had the same opportunity. They might have passed this under the cover of darkness but their misdeeds will be broadcast in the light of day.
So much for this ethical, open and transparent Congress and government led by Barack Obama. It was done behind closed doors and at night but we will clean the place of this vermin by shedding bright light upon them.
There are two things left to address. The Democrats have misjudged the meaning of the last election. Once the youth, a demographic that is not particularly political, starts having to buy insurance or pay more for what they have then they will become active. The elderly who get screwed in the Medicare debacle are dependable voters who will show their anger at the ballot box.
And the last thing is the base. The Democrat’s base is not happy. Keith Olberman urged them to kill this bill (because it is not radical enough) and he made a threat. He said that if they did not kill it he would not buy the mandated health care and he urged the other “progressives” (read liberals) not to buy it as well.
When I said I would not buy any insurance forced upon me the liberals who comment here had a field day.
I wonder how they feel about their own Olberman taking that position.
I know how I feel. If the bill Olberman wants had been passed and Rush Limbaugh went ont he air and said he would refuse to buy it and urged others to do the same (and he has an infinitely larger audience than Olberman) then ole Keith would have had a cow and made Limbaugh the worst person of the week.
America got raped very early this morning. You know the rapist is skilled when he manages to screw people from both ends of the political spectrum.
Vote them all out.

Reid His Lips, No Weekends Off (Except For Fundraiser)
Dec 11, 2009 Political
The debate in the Senate over health care is dragging on and the pressure is on Harry Reid to get a bill passed. He has met stiff resistance and no matter what he does he alienates another segment of the Senate so that he does not have the number of votes needed to pass the bill. Reid feels the debate is so important that he recently decided that the Senate would work weekends because this issue is just so darned important:
“The American people don’t get weekends off from this injustice,” Reid said. “Bankruptcy doesn’t keep bankers’ hours. The bills don’t go away just because it’s a Saturday; the pain doesn’t go away just because it’s a Sunday.” Las Vegas Sun
Reid probably figured that Republicans would cave because they had to work weekends but that will not happen but I have felt from the start that it would not be long before all of the Senators grew restless. They will all want to get home for Christmas and will stop debate.
Harry Reid has however, found one thing that is more important than the health care debate and that would be his political career. Reid is in a fight for his seat and it appears, unless something drastic happens, that he will lose next November. If the comments in the linked article are any indication, the people in Nevada can’t wait.
Yes, health care is very important to Harry Reid and he mandated weekend work but his career is more important so he has asked that the Republicans agree to taking this weekend off so that Harry can attend a fundraiser in New Orleans. Political whore Mary Landrieu and Harry Reid will be in the Big Easy at a $1000 (plus) per plate dinner in order to raise money for their reelections.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, a political fundraiser is more important than the health care debate. The American people might not get the weekend off from the “injustice” but Harry Reid wants the weekend off so he can raise money for his political career. Remember this the next time the morons tell you how important this issue is. It is not too important for Reid to stop work so he can raise money for his reelection campaign. Reelecting him would be the true injustice.
This should say all that needs to be said about the priorities of Harry Reid and for that matter, most other politicians. Their first two priorities, no matter what, are to get elected and to get reelected.
Reid can see the writing on the wall. He knows that he is toast next year and that he will have to give up his plush job. He knows that he is pushing an agenda that most Americans do not support and he knows that the reason that it is being pushed is to make Obama look good. This will backfire.
The stimulus was so important that it had to be passed immediately and before anyone had time to read it. Then it sat on Obama’s desk for four days while he took his wife on a date.
Health care is so important that it must be done immediately (even though no benefits will be seen until 2013 or 2014) and it is so important that the Senate must work weekends.
Until Harry Reid needs some time off to raise money for his reelection.
Self serving is a good description of Harry Reid.
LATE WORD: Late word from the linked article is that Republicans did not agree to the weekend off. Senator Mitch McConnell said that Reid told them they would be working every weekend and Republicans took him at his word.
Republicans rejected Reid’s request Thursday morning to fast track several spending bills, clear the floor for health reform votes next week, and take the weekend off.
“Republicans are prepared to provide a platform for the debate as long as it takes,” said Sen. Mitch McConnell, noting that “The majority leader said we would be working every weekend and we took him at his word.”
We expect to be here this weekend and we look forward to it. Republicans believe there is nothing more important we can do than stop this bill and start over… we are eager to continue the debate.”
“I know people have fundraisers because they are running for reelection and people have other important things to do, but there is nothing more important to do than this,” said McConnell.
What a nice way to make Reid choke on his own words. I have issues with McConnell but I agree with him on this one. Shove Reid’s words down his throat and make him choke on them just as the Democrats are doing to the American people with the health care bill.
UPDATE: The fundraiser has been canceled. This is outstanding. Of course Reid and Landrieu will make it appear as if they are doing such important work that they could not be pulled away. The reality is that Republicans held Reid to his word. This is getting fun. Perhaps ole Harry should have thought about this when he mandated the weekend work (not that I am opposed to them working weekends). I mean, he had to have known the fundraiser was scheduled…

A Great Idea To Defeat Obamacare
Aug 26, 2009 Political
Hugh Hewitt has a post up with a great idea for defeating Obamacare:
Stopping Obamacare: $10 for Tark
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 7:42 PM
People are always asking me how to help beat Obamacare.
Of course I send them to the petition and ask that they find 10 other people to join as well. We’d like to get to 1.5 million signers before we take it to D.C. in September.
Now I see that the very reputable Mason Dixon pollsters have Harry Reid trailing his only announced GOP opponent, former UNLV hoopster Danny Tarkanian, by 11 points.
Here’s Danny Tarkanian’s campaign website.
Send him $10 and send Harry Reid an e-mail promising much more support for Danny T. if Obamacare passes.
That’s a message that will be received loud and clear.
UPDATE: 91 e-mails (many with e-receipts from the Tark campaign) telling me that the sender had made a “$10 for Tark” contribution –in twenty minutes. If a few other talkers/bloggers help spread the idea, I think Senator Reid will start thinking long and hard about what Obamacare is going to cost him.
E-mail your friends and ask them to join the campaign.
UPDATE 2: An e-mail:
What this country needs,,,
Is a good $10 idea. Actually I would spend more. Just finished my donation to Tark, but need a link to Reid. What a marvelous idea. Will be send this one around, believe me. ! ! !
GayPatriot links, and the viral spiral begins.
To e-mail Senator Reid, go here.
Big Dog’s take:
This is a great idea. This will show Harry Reid exactly how people feel and it will make him reconsider his position on Obamacare. He will have a very tough political decision to make. I think he will start thinking about reelection and abandon Obamacare.
In any case, the money will help to defeat him. That will be one less rat to worry about in the Senate.
Big Dog Salute to GM Roper

Protests Are Bothering Democrats
Aug 6, 2009 Political
The Democrats knew they would catch hell during this break and so far there have been quite a few encounters with constituents that have gotten loud. None of them have gotten out of control and there was no violence like there is when liberal goons are involved. These meetings included Democrats and Republicans who were present to express their dissatisfaction with the health care overhaul.
The Democrats in office, the DNC, and the media wing of their party have been portraying the protesters as right wing extremists who are hell bent on destroying Obama. No matter what the make up of the audience is, it will be labeled as a bunch of conservatives and members of the vast right wing conspiracy. Even though people at the meetings describe themselves as Democrats, they are still identified as conservatives and helps to brand them as supremacists.
Senator Boxer said that the groups are well dressed people as if ordinary citizens cannot dress nicely. Nancy Pelosi said that the protesters are carrying swastikas and other offensive items (I challenge her to find such a thing). This is a lie and is designed to make it look like the Republicans or the conservatives are the problem.
The groups are not the right wing, they are Americans from all backgrounds and ideologies who do not believe in what is happening. The Democrats want you to believe they are united and it is the right holding things up. Keep this in mind, they have enough votes to pass it without one Republican vote. The problem is many Democrats do not want to vote for it because they are worried about reelection. The Dems are blaming this on the right to take the focus off their own members who oppose it.
As for the unruly mobs that the Democrats want you to think are involved, look at any video and you see people who are angry and talking out of turn and over each other but there is no violence. The people are only expressing themselves and are really letting their representatives have it when they hear a lie, or as the White House calls it, something fishy.
Harry Reid is not happy at all and says these protesters are trying to sabotage the Democratic process:
The Senate’s most powerful Democrat on Thursday scolded health care protesters dogging his party’s lawmakers at local meetings, arguing that some critics on the political right have run out of ideas—and ditched their civic manners. Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada accused the protesters of trying to “sabotage” the democratic process. Breitbart
Isn’t it amazing how when Democrats are out protesting, damaging property and attacking people they are being patriotic because they are dissenting but when people (identified as Republicans by Dems) are peacefully protesting the government’s actions they are “sabotaging” the Democratic process?
It is further amazing that Harry Reid would call people expressing their Constitutional rights as saboteurs. Not only are these folks exercising their right to free speech, they are also exercising their right to peaceably assemble. Harry Reid thinks this is getting in the way of progress. You read that right, a US Senator thinks that people who exercise their Constitutional rights are saboteurs. Is it any wonder we hold these people in contempt?
Stop the ACLU has a video of some of these right wing radicals. It features a bunch of senior citizens at an AARP meeting. The AARP representative is trying to explain why government health care is so great and why the seniors should like it. When people start to express their dissatisfaction the person holding the meeting ends it and leaves. The seniors all said they were going to cancel their membership in AARP and I hope they do. The AARP is only out to make money. They do not care about seniors, they care about advancing liberal positions.
I urge all seniors who belong to the AARP to cancel your memberships and ask for a refund. Then consider joining organizations like the 60 Plus Association or the American Seniors Association. Both of them believe in limited government and ending oppressive taxes. They have your interests in mind.
Keep the heat on the members of Congress. Do not let them get away with the lies about the plan. They will say anything to get this passed so they can control your lives. Don’t let them get away with telling you how great they can do things. They can’t run a post office, they can’t run Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security, all of which are out of money or will be soon.
If you like going to the Department of Motor vehicles then you will love government health care. But keep in mind, if you think health care is expensive now, wait until it is free…
As for you seniors, keep giving them hell and then vote them out of office before they pass a health care bill that will kill you off.

Democrats Not Very Good With Strategy
Jan 3, 2009 Political
The Democrats appear to have shot themselves in the foot. Harry Reid and his gang of liberals have decided that Roland Burris of Illinois will not be seated in the Senate. Governor Rod Blagojevich selected Burris to fill the seat vacated by soon to be President Obama and that has rankled the Senate Dems.
Rod Blagojevich is the governor of Illinois. Yes, he is a slime ball and he tried to sell Obama’s seat to the highest bidder, an effort that was thwarted when investigators arrested him (way too soon). But, he is the governor and it is in his purview to appoint people to fill seats of those who have not completed their terms. He selected someone who, as far as anyone can tell, was not involved in the pay to play scandal. Burris has, as far as I can tell, had a mediocre public service life but seems not to be too tarnished from Illinois politics where nearly all politicians are crooked.
Harry Reid has no right to block Burris from being seated but he has stated he will do so unless Burris is certified by the Illinois Secretary of State. However, Reid has stated that he would seat Al Franken on a provisional basis while awaiting the outcome of the recount and any court challenges. Franken will not be certified by the Minnesota Secretary of State. Why the double standard? Because Burris has been appointed by a tarnished governor, perhaps but it might also be because Democrats are worried that he cannot win reelection and the seat might go to a Republican (the same reason the legislature of Illinois decided not to have a special election).
In any event, the Democrats have put themselves in a bind because Republicans have vowed to filibuster any move to put Franken in a seat without the issue being resolved at the state level. No matter what Harry Reid and the Democrats do regarding Burris they have already given the Republicans an opening that cannot be closed. They set the standard and allowed the Republicans to thwart their attempt to legitimize Franken’s potential theft of the election an effort that would have looked like partisan politics had Reid not opened the door.
I would have thought that people who have been around politics as long as this gang of thugs has would have seen the potential for disaster in blocking Burris. I know they did not worry about 57 white guys keeping the black guy out because Democrats are the party of slavery and discrimination and they are excused each time they display their roots. The Republicans could have never effectively played the race card but they can use Reid’s own words and rules against him. I wonder where the people who comment that the seat must go to a black guy fall on this issue?
No matter what people think about Rod Blagojevich or Roland Burris, the fact remains that his appointment was legal and it should go through without delay. It is a legal appointment and Reid has no Constitutional grounds upon which to deny Burris entry.
Republicans, on the other hand, have a legitimate issue with Franken. The contest has not been decided and it might take months for the recount and court challenges to resolve the issue. Franken will probably end up winning because Democrats are skilled at stealing elections but he should not be seated until the issue is resolved and he is certified.
