Caterpillar Will Get What It Deserves

If the health care takeover passes then Caterpillar, the company that makes large earth moving equipment, will get exactly what it deserves. Caterpillar is howling about the bill because it claims that its health care costs will increase about 100 MILLION dollars in the first year alone. This is a bill that is supposed to decrease health care costs.

Caterpillar was walking hand in hand with Obama when he wanted to pass the stimulus and the company supported him in that process. Caterpillar was a useful idiot for Obama. He got what he wanted and now he could not care less about how the health care takeover effects this company. He valued the company’s input when he wanted its support and now that they have a different opinion about health care, Obama wants nothing to do with the company.

Caterpillar has no one to blame but itself. If you lie down with dogs you will get fleas and Obama is a dirty, flea bitten, mangy dog.

If this passes then I have no sympathy for Caterpillar and its increased health care costs which will certainly be passed on to consumers through higher equipment prices.

There are plenty of companies in other countries that make large earth moving equipment and they will not be handcuffed by the health care takeover so they will sell equipment at a lower price and gain business.

Caterpillar can try to hang on or go out of business. It is a tough lesson to learn but sometimes it takes a tough lesson for the information to actually sink in.

Hey Caterpillar, how’s that hope and change working out for you?

The Health Care Shell Game

The CBO numbers came out and Democrats are giddy. They believe the numbers reported mean that the health care takeover bill will save money and reduce the deficit. This is far from the truth. The CBO can only grade what they are given and they are only given items that are expected to give the desired result. It is a shell game that all politicians play when they want to hide the true cost of any legislation.

The reality of the health care takeover is that it will increase the deficit. The doc-fix is something that has been going on for a long time. In order to reimburse doctors the amount needed for Medicare patients, a separate bill is introduced each year to fix the problem. The fix is usually added to some other spending bill to reduce the cost of Medicare. Last year it was added to the Defense bill so the cost, on paper, was not borne by Medicare.

The doc-fix was supposed to be a part of the health care takeover bill and it should be. It would have been a permanent part of health care so that there would be no future need for doc-fixes. But that fix caused a deficit so the Democrats removed it from the bill and made it a separate piece of legislation. The money must still be spent but removing it from the health care takeover bill kept the CBO from scoring it against the bill. Keep in mind, this is still a cost that must be borne no matter what bill it appears in.

The CBO states, despite what Democrats claim (Obama made the claim today), that the health care takeover would increase the deficit. This is an assessment based on including the doc-fix in the health care takeover bill.

The Congressional Budget Office said Friday that rolling back a programmed cut in Medicare fees to doctors would cost $208 billion over 10 years. If added back to the health care overhaul bill, it would wipe out all the deficit reduction, leaving the legislation $59 billion in the red.

The so-called doc fix was part of the original House bill. Because of its high cost, Democrats decided to pursue it separately. Republicans say the cost should not be ignored. Congress has usually waived the cuts to doctors year by year. Yahoo News

Republicans are correct in saying that this cost should not be ignored because it is a cost associated with health care. Democrats are deliberately ignoring it to give the false impression that the health care takeover bill will reduce the deficit.

It will actually cause the takeover to be 59 BILLION dollars in the red. That is 59 Billion more dollars added to the deficit.

This is a shell game being played in order to get this takeover passed. The bill is not about health and it is not about care. It is about control. Once the government controls health care it will control the people and this is what Democrats want, control over you.

Keep in mind that VP Biden said that the government would control the health care companies (it is about control) and Nancy Pelosi said that this was the start and that more would be done after this passes. They want the public option and this is what she is talking about. When Obama was being skewered by Bret Baier this week he disclosed that this is a start and that they were working incrementally to get more. He has stated in the past that the public option was the goal and he alluded to that in the interview. He pointed out that Canada did not get where it is all at once, that they did it in steps. This health care takeover is the first of many steps to get to a public option and take complete control of our lives.

To ensure that we are controlled by the government the bill puts the IRS in charge of checking on each of us every month to make sure we are insured. If we do not have insurance they will fine us and take the money from any refund due or otherwise fine us. The government will use the IRS to enforce the dictatorial rules on us and that will cost about 10 BILLION more dollars that will have to be paid but will not be counted against the cost of the legislation even though the expense is a direct result of it.

The process is unconstitutional and it is contrary to what a free people expect. Once government controls our lives we have lost our freedom and this is what Democrats want.

We also need to understand that Obama is in favor of using the same jaded and unconstitutional processes to pass the rest of his agenda. How far will this go? How far does it have to go before Americans revolt?

I do not know the answer but I know that I will not relinquish my freedom without a fight.

And all true Americans feel the same.

We will teach these people that they work for us and that we are not their servants.

One way or another they are going to learn this lesson.

This Will Spread To More Sectors

Walgreens in Washington state will stop accepting new requests for prescriptions to be filled for Medicad patients because the state does not reimburse enough to cover the cost of the drugs. Several other stores have also decided to stop accepting new Medicaid patients for the same reason.

Quite a few doctors in this country have stopped taking Medicare patients because the federal government does not reimburse enough to cover costs. The hospital Obama held up as a model has stopped taking Medicare patients.

Do you see the pattern here?

The government run systems control costs by shortchanging doctors on the reimbursement. Obama clearly told us that this was the safety valve that is used when there is a cost problem.

Of course there are some progressives who think this is perfectly acceptable and that doctors get paid too much or that health care and medicine should be given away. How dare these people go to school and learn a tough profession and then expect to be paid for doing it?

Well, the doctors are tired of it. Some pharmacies are tired of it.

And it will only get worse if the government passes the health care takeover plan.

Yes there will be shortages and yes there will be doctors who opt out of all of it and work on a personal level with people who pay out of pocket. It is already happening and it will happen more.

The country is at a precarious place in its history and it is up to a few truly courageous people in Congress to stop this.

And we don’t mean Obama courage where he hides behind Pelosi’s skirt.

Don’t Be Fooled, Kucinich Is A Coward

At Dennis Kucinich’s reelection website the tag line is; “Dennis Kucinich America’s Most Courageous Congressman.” This is certainly a bit of hyperbole but for the most part Kucinich stuck to his guns with regard to what he believed. He did not waiver from his positions even those involving aliens (the kind from outer space).

Kucinich gave every indication that he was going to continue that pattern with regard to the health care takeover. As recently as two weeks ago Kucinich said that there was no way he could vote for this bill because it did not contain the public option. Kucinich is a big government Socialist type and he wants government to run health care, something he defines as a civil right.

Kucinich was wooed by Barack Obama with a ride on Air Force One and was then chastised by Obama at a rally in Ohio. When Kucinich returned from the event he would not talk about his position on health care, you know, the thing he could not vote for.

Today at 10 am Kucinich showed that he is far from the most courageous Congressman when he held a press conference to report that he would now vote yes for the bill, a bill he described as flawed and one that he was not satisfied with.

When he explained how he arrived at the decision he said he talked to Obama, Pelosi, his wife and a few friends. He then decided to vote yes. At no time did he say that he discussed it with any of his constituents or that he had taken their desires into account. This is because he does not care what they want. He is not courageous, he is a coward.

Kucinich needs to remove that line from his website and replace it with; “Dennis Kucinich Another Political Whore.”

There is no word about what Kucinich got for his vote. It could have been a Lewinsky from Obama or 30 pieces of silver but my gut feeling is that he got the public option sneaked into the bill.

I wrote about it last night and I am sure that Kucinich was paid off with what he wanted in the bill.

It will be fun to watch it get removed during reconciliation. The public option is not a budget item.

The Democrats are destroying our country with their blatant disregard for the Constitution.

We need to make sure they pay for this in November.

Obama Wants Courage, Pelosi Gives Cowardice

Barack Obama is out on the campaign trail community organizing support for his health care takeover because he does not have the votes to get it passed. He will be interviewed on FOX News tonight because FOX has the largest audience, the biggest number of people opposed, and because Obama’s health care takeover is on the ropes.

While Obama was trotting out sob stories and telling half truths about the medical situations of those he exploited, he called for courage. He wants the Democrats to have the courage to vote for his plan even though it will severely hamper the ability of many of them to get reelected. Courage is what the man wants.

But cowardice is what he gets. The Democrats do not have the courage of their convictions and do not want their names attached to the vote. Nancy Pelosi is considering using a procedure that will cover Democrats and allow them to claim they did not vote for the bill.

The tactic — known as a “self-executing rule” or a “deem and pass” — has been commonly used, although never to pass legislation as momentous as the $875 billion health-care bill. It is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure. [emphasis mine] Washington Post

She likes the procedure (which is likely unconstitutional) because it provides protection for Democrats reluctant to vote for the Senate Bill. This is nothing but cowardice.

While Obama is out calling for courage his Democrats are hiding behind Pelosi’s skirt because they are a bunch of thumb-sucking pansies who do not have enough of a spine to stand up for what they believe in.

If the bill is so wonderful and does so many great things then why do they need cover? If this is the panacea that will solve our health care problems then why are they not proudly standing up and voting for it?

They are not voting for it because they know it is a crap sandwich that Obama wants them all to take a bite from.

Arms are being twisted, deals are being cut, and members of Congress are being embarrassed into doing what Obama wants them to do but what the majority of Americans do not.

Despite the rationalization by some, these Democrats are in trouble. At least 35 of them are in districts that were easily won by Republican presidential candidates and it is unlikely that those districts will put them back in office if they vote for this.

A year ago I figured that Republicans would gain seats in the midterm election because that is the historical trend. I never thought they could take back the House but now I am convinced that Republicans will win enough seats to gain the majority.

Of course things can change in eight months but if the elections were held today the Republicans would have control of the House.

Health care is the straw that broke the camel’s back. Pass or fail, a lot of Democrats will get flushed because of it and their blind loyalty to a community organizer who is hell bent on destroying this country.
