Mark Lloyd And The Racist Agenda

Finally there is a “beginning”, or genesis of a conversation about Mark Lloyd and his racist rants and beliefs. Much like Van Jones, his comments are finally beginning to catch up to this fascist thug who has now become our newest unvetted “Diversity” Czar. Here is a man who believes that “White people” have a disproportionate share of the airwaves, especially when it comes to “Conservative” talk radio. One of the ways he would address this would be to “charge” stations 100% of their Gross Revenue as their licensing fee- in other words, they would have to be willing to work for nothing in order to continue to work at all.

And that is not all- he would then give this money that he extorted from the talk radio stations to “liberal”, or minority” stations, so they could operate without having to make a profit. Mr. Nice Guy, Huh? Finally at least one paper has decided to write some of this warped little man’s comments down, and it is a good thing, because if Mr. Lloyd has his way, every part of the media will be subject to his heavy hand, much like Venezuela which he admires for their censorship of their media.

President Obama’s diversity czar at the Federal Communications Commission has spoken publicly of getting white media executives to “step down” in favor of minorities, prescribed policies to make liberal talk radio more successful, and described Hugo Chavez’s rise to power in Venezuela “an incredible revolution.”

Mark Lloyd’s provocative comments – most made during a tenure at the liberal Center for American Progress think tank – are giving fodder to critics who say Mr. Obama has appointed too many “czars” to government positions that don’t require congressional approval. They are also worrying to some conservatives who fear the FCC might use its powers to remove their competitive advantage on talk radio and television.

Many of the remarks have been unearthed by conservative-leaning writers and bloggers and discussed on cable television amid a broader critique of Mr. Obama’s penchant for czars that exploded with the ouster this month of “green jobs czar” Van Jones.

In one of his more eye-opening comments, Mr. Lloyd praised Mr. Chavez during a June 2008 conference on media reform, saying the authoritarian Venezuelan president had led “really an incredible revolution – a democratic revolution.”

washingtontimes.com

Oh yeah, Marky baby loves him some Hugo- but he is wrong in describing the Chavez regime as “democratic”, but then he probably didn’t spend much time with dictionaries and definitions- being too busy thinking of warped scenarios to try out on the American public. Sometimes you have to wonder where these whackos come from- and then you get the sinking feeling in your stomach when you find out they came from teaching our children this perverted crap.

At another conference, Mr. Lloyd spoke about the need to remove white people from powerful positions in the media to give minorities a fairer chance.
“There’s nothing more difficult than this because we have really truly, good, white people in important positions, and the fact of the matter is that there are a limited number of those positions,” he said.

“And unless we are conscious of the need to have more people of color, gays, other people in those positions, we will not change the problem. But we’re in a position where you have to say who is going to step down so someone else can have power.”

He added: “There are few things, I think, more frightening in the American mind than dark-skinned black men. Here I am.”

washingtontimes.com

Oooohhh- scary- I’ll remember to trot out my Mark Lloyd scarecrow for Halloween this year, if I can remember just where I put it- oh well- scaring children is not uppermost on my mind now. Mr. Lloyd scaring people because of his warped views of the Constitution is.

Apparently, Marky baby just can’t understand market forces, and the capitalist system- if liberal talk radio had an audience, it would succeed, plain and simple- and people who wanted to make money, whatever their color might be, would invest in liberal talk radio. But in truth, we might as well be talking unicorns here- Liberal talk radio is just not interesting- have you heard NPR? It puts die- hard progressives to sleep faster than Ambien.

“At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies,” Mr. Lloyd wrote. “The purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance.”

washingtontimes.com

Free speech or freedom of the press is a “distraction”? The purpose of free speech is “warped”? I don’t think so, Mr. Lloyd- it is your perception of these freedoms that is skewed, biased, and warped beyond belief- and lend credence to the inherent “wrongness” of having unvetted people in positions of policy formation. In short, Mr. Lloyd, you are a nutjob whacko, and I am being polite here.

Seton Motley, communications director for the conservative-leaning Media Research Center and contributing editor to Newsbusters.org who has written critically about Mr. Lloyd on several occasions, said Mr. Lloyd appeared Tuesday at a meeting held by the FCC’s advisory committee on diversity that discussed the need to increase lending and licensing to minority-owned media outlets.

“They say he’s not involved in licensing and he’s involved in researching diversity,” Mr. Motley told the Washington Times, “but he sat in a meeting where licensing is very much part of the deal.”

A meeting agenda posted by the advisory committee says that “national broadband plans recommendations” also were discussed.

washingtontimes.com

Finally, we are at last getting some media to sit up and pay attention to this thug- when you combine him with Cass Sunstein, the Regulatory Czar, who also believes that free speech is over rated, you have a possible scenario where today it is the conservatives who are silenced, but tomorrow it might be the liberals who are legislatively gagged.

Because one thing is for certain, and Liberals should take this to heart-

What goes around, comes around.

You Say ChickenHawk, I Say Obama

Well, it is coming apart for our Resident- he picked the wrong war- he thought (and still, to this day cannot say the words) that the surge in Iraq couldn’t work, probably because George Bush advocated for it.Now that the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan is going south, he wants out.

Actually, he was never in it, as other Democrats now are beginning to admit. This was just a campaign ploy to try and show that he had some testosterone somewhere in him, when in actuality the opposite is true. Democrats do not like to fight- they have never met a war they couldn’t lose, or a confrontation they could master.

President Obama is exploring alternatives to a major troop increase in Afghanistan, including a plan advocated by Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to scale back American forces and focus more on rooting out Al Qaeda there and in Pakistan, officials said Tuesday.

The options under review are part of what administration officials described as a wholesale reconsideration of a strategy the president announced with fanfare just six months ago. Two new intelligence reports are being conducted to evaluate Afghanistan and Pakistan, officials said.

The sweeping reassessment has been prompted by deteriorating conditions on the ground, the messy and still unsettled outcome of the Afghan elections and a dire report by Mr. Obama’s new commander, Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal. Aides said the president wanted to examine whether the strategy he unveiled in March was still the best approach and whether it could work with the extra combat forces General McChrystal wants.

nytimes.com

War is a messy thing in the best of circumstances, and Afghanistan is not that at all. Afghanistan is, as the Russians found out, a very complicated situation. Russia was attempting to conquer the country- we are just trying to unify the country under one leader with a quasi- democratic form of government. Still, the resemblance to attempting to herd cats is still a valid analogy for this tribal country, where there has never been any central leadership to speak of.

So we can agree that the task is hard, but the Resident is more concerned with politics and perception than with real results, and his advocacy for this war was always rooted in relativism- the “perception” of being for this conflict was always more important than the reality of succeeding in this endeavor, despite the blood of our soldiers being spilled for this effort.

Although Mr. Obama has said that a stable Afghanistan is central to the security of the United States, some advisers said he was also wary of becoming trapped in an overseas quagmire. Some Pentagon officials say they worry that he is having what they called “buyer’s remorse” after ordering an extra 21,000 troops there within weeks of taking office before even settling on a strategy.

Mr. Obama met in the Situation Room with his top advisers on Sept. 13 to begin chewing over the problem, said officials involved in the debate. Among those on hand were Mr. Biden; Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates; Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton;James L. Jones, the national security adviser; and Adm. Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

They reached no consensus, so three or four more such meetings are being scheduled. “There are a lot of competing views,” said one official who, like others in this article, requested anonymity to discuss internal administration deliberations.

Among the alternatives being presented to Mr. Obama is Mr. Biden’s suggestion to revamp the strategy altogether. Instead of increasing troops, officials said, Mr. Biden proposed scaling back the overall American military presence. Rather than trying to protect the Afghan population from the Taliban, American forces would concentrate on strikes against Qaeda cells, primarily in Pakistan, using special forces, Predator missile attacks and other surgical tactics.

nytimes.com

Oh yeah, there’s a good idea Joe-  Why, for the life of me someone doesn’t just sew Biden’s lips shut I will never know- he should be duct taped to within an inch of his life and put in Cheney’s “undisclosed” location.  Even Hillary can’t accept this scenario– it runs counter to reality, and as much as I might dislike her personally, she has a better grasp on reality than either the Resident or “Say it aint so” Joe.

Mrs. Clinton, who opposed Mr. Biden in March, appeared to refer to this debate in an interview on Monday night on PBS. “Some people say, ‘Well, Al Qaeda’s no longer in Afghanistan,’ ” she said. “If Afghanistan were taken over by the Taliban, I can’t tell you how fast Al Qaeda would be back in Afghanistan.”

nytimes.com

But sources in the administration and elsewhere finally admit that the support for the ” Good War”- the war in Afghanistan, was only a ploy to try and demonstrate Nobama’s manhood- and that it can now begin to be “disengaged” from, in a delicate and discreet way.

Escalation is a bad idea. The Democrats backed themselves into defending the idea of Afghanistan being The Good War because they felt they needed to prove their macho bonafides they called for withdrawal from Iraq. Nobody asked too many questions sat the time, including me. But none of us should forget that it was a political strategy, not a serious foreign policy.

There have been many campaign promises “adjusted” since the election. There is no reason that the administration should feel any more bound to what they said about this than all the other committments [sic] it has blithely turned aside in the interest of “pragmatism.”

the liberal blog Hullabaloo

Yep- that’s a liberal for you- everything is relative, there is no black and white, just shades of gray, and as we have seen from the missile withdrawal from Eastern Europe, treaties are apparently just pieces of paper, and our word, our honor, means nothing to these cowards. And that is what they are, top to bottom, front to back.

And the words of this Resident, that sounded so “lofty” and principled, and, well- serious- well, you can wad them up and try for a free throw to the trash, because that is, apparently, all they are worth.

“Al Qaeda and its allies — the terrorists who planned and supported the 9/11 attacks — are in Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Multiple intelligence estimates have warned that al Qaeda is actively planning attacks on the United States homeland from its safe haven in Pakistan.  And if the Afghan government falls to the Taliban — or allows al Qaeda to go unchallenged — that country will again be a base for terrorists who want to kill as many of our people as they possibly can.”—— Barak Obama

Yes- that was, and is true- but this Resident is interested in easy results, and doesn’t want to chance being bogged down in a long war- we have a Resident with ADD, and he really can’t concentrate on something for an extended period. This is probably the reason for the teleprompters.

Representative Ike Skelton, Democrat of Missouri and chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, sent Mr. Obama a six-page letter arguing the case for more troops for General McChrystal. “There is no strategy short of a properly resourced counterinsurgency campaign that is likely to provide lasting security,” he wrote.

Mr. Obama now has to reconcile past statements and policy with his current situation.

“The problem for President Obama is he has made the case in the past that we took our eye off the ball and we should have stayed in Afghanistan,” said former Defense Secretary William S. Cohen. But now that he is in charge of the war, Mr. Cohen said, Mr. Obama is discovering “he doesn’t have much in the way of options” and time is of the essence.

nytimes.com

The biggest problem for the Resident is that he just does not trust or believe the Generals in charge of this war- which is contrary to common sense, because I can think of no one in this administration that has less experience than our “Commander in Chief” (in name only)– thus, he should, if he was smart, be listening hard to the officers in the field. But he doesn’t. And that is a problem very deeply rooted in the Democratic Leftist psyche.

If someone in the WH doesn’t tell the Resident to shut up and listen, this war will drag on for years, or he will jerk us out of Afghanistan, and he will be the single reason we lost the war here. Al Qaida will have their safe haven back, and the the only way we could respond in the future would be with nukes, because by that time, Al Qaida will have toppled Pakistan as well.

Because Pakistan will have seen how we treated Poland and the Czech Republic, and they will know that Nobama is no friend to have or trust. They will be on their own.

And so will we.

Race, Rudeness, and a Whiny President

The Resident took to the airwaves cable, and satellite channels- all except Fox News (allegedly because they were “whiny”)- hell, he even went on Univision, and I was not aware that Nobama spoke spanish- that is probably from his days as a community rabble rouser  activist  organizer. What a talented man he must feel that he is.

This guy, who was supposed to be our first post- racial president, just loves to have his proxy posse call out any critic of his policies as a racist. They think that is a conversation killer- and mention of racism immediately trumps logic.

It is their secret safe word.

There are so many words that are “off limits” now- so many jokes you cannot tell, just in case there might be someone there who might actually be offended, oh my goodness. Rudeness, it seems, according to the President’s handlers, comes only from one place- the right- really? Because I seem to remember some truly outrageous rudeness on the left when George Bush was in office, but now that the Man in Black is in the White House, the rules of the game need to be changed- it is not that his skin is a different color, ( a fact the left seems to dwell on more than the right, quizzically), but that his skin is quite thin.

The president of the United States used the Sunday morning talk shows to broadly scold the news media for playing up what he called “rude” and “outrageous” political comments, and urge the 24-hour news networks to consider giving more of a platform to those who demonstrate decency and civility.

Obama blanketed the airwaves Sunday, appearing on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and the Hispanic network Univision in a bid to promote his health care plan. But he also very deliberately used the unprecedented media blitz to chide those journalists who cover him, delivering a similar lecture on every network except Univision about the importance of changing the way media prioritize stories.

“The easiest way to get on television right now is to be really rude. If you’re just being sensible and giving people the benefit of the doubt, and you’re making your arguments, you don’t get time on the nightly news,” Obama said on ABC’s “This Week.”

foxnews.com

Is it rude to ask questions in a manner designed to elicit a direct and honest answer, and to keep asking these questions when a person evades, or refuses to answer those questions? Because if it is, bring on the rude- we have some questions we would like you to actually answer without all the bloviating you normally do, Mr. Resident.

The easiest way to get 15 minutes on the news or your 15 minutes of fame is to be rude. … That’s something that I think needs to change,” Obama said, lamenting the habit of “plucking out a sentence here or a comment there.”

The president was evidently agitated by the coverage the media have given to stories that sprouted as a result of Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., shouting, “You lie,” at Obama during his health care address to a joint session of Congress more than a week ago. Coverage of the outburst seemed to overshadow coverage of Obama’s health care plan itself, and later evolved into coverage of racial controversy after several prominent Democrats, including former President Jimmy Carter, claimed critics like Wilson were racially motivated.

“The media loves to have a conversation about race,” Obama noted on NBC. “This is catnip to the media because it is a running thread in American history that is very powerful and it evokes some very strong emotion.”

foxnews.com

Yes, racism is a very powerful theme- powerful enough that just being rudely direct in your line of questioning, or challenging the veracity of someone’s words is, apparently in some people’s minds, a form of racism.

These progressives are very twitchy people- like someone who has had too much electro- shock therapy, they have a permanent tic- one that shouts “Racism!” at every perceived slam against this administration. Racism is their default position, and that of every liberal, it seems- especially when they are getting pinched in an argument, their “racism” instincts kick in.

Even if it isn’t racism, but just rudeness.

House Republican Leader John Boehner, though, disputed Obama’s assertion that “rude” voices are dominating the debate.

“I don’t know that the tone of the debate has gotten out of control. It’s been spirited,” Boehner said on NBC. And he blamed Democrats for prolonging the controversy over Wilson and race, since Democratic leaders drew out the conflict with a vote on the House floor to formally admonish Wilson — even after he apologized to the White House.

foxnews.com

We have always had spirited debates in the past, every bit as passionate as the ones we are having now. Every bit as rude too- but what we have never had before is a Black president, and that has led to the liberal progressives bringing a new word to these debates- racism- that we have not had regarding a president, or even a vice president. The circumstances are unique, and so the reactions are blown way out of proportion. here is one possibly good thing coming out of all this shouting-

Racism, as a word, is losing all meaning and venom- it is becoming a caricature of a curse word, a knee jerk response word, a throwaway word.

I will leave you with the question if this is really, in the end, a truly good thing or not.

A part of me says yes, and a part of me says no.

What Double Standards?

Well, Bill Richardson, a crony and advocate of the Resident, was cleared by the Justice Department in the “Pay to Play” scandal that still looms in New Mexico. The problem hasn’t gone away, but Billy has been given “special dispensation” by the Justice Department, which routinely (now) “blesses” the law-breaking activities of any Democrat. This is ridiculous- the Black Panthers voting intimidation, Charlie Rangel, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid, and of course, the tax problems of little Timmy Geithner all point to a true Culture of Corruption in the Justice Department- perhaps they should re-name it  the Get Out Of Jail Free (if you are liberal) Department- that would at least reflect the truth.

I have never before known an Attorney General to willfully break the law for blindly partisan purposes, but this guy doesn’t even try to appear even- handed or even legal. A better Nazi he could not be, rewarding cronies, and punishing enemies blatantly.

The Democratic governor and former high-ranking members of his administration won’t be criminally charged in an investigation of how lucrative state bond work went to one of the governor’s large political donors, according to two people familiar with the case. The decision not to seek indictments was made by Justice Department officials in Washington, they said, speaking on condition they not be identified because prosecutors had not disclosed results of the probe.

“It’s over. There’s nothing. It was killed in Washington,” one of the people told The Associated Press.

news.yahoo.com

How nice- why? Could it be that if the investigation went forward, that other Dems might get ensnared in the net? We may never know, but I think the environment is such now that other bloggers and news organizations will keep the heat on to see what, like a rotten corpse, floats to the surface.

A spokesman for Richardson, Gilbert Gallegos, said in a statement Thursday that “while the U.S. Attorney’s Office has not notified Gov. Richardson about the completion of its investigation, it appears that no action will be taken as a result of the year-long inquiry.”

Gallegos said Richardson was “gratified that this year-long investigation has ended with the vindication of his administration” and that “patience was difficult while Gov. Richardson and his administration were being falsely accused and were the subject of rumors and speculation through the news media.”

news.yahoo.com

Really, Governor? Were you “falsely accused?” We only have your word for that, and excuse me for saying this, but someone under investigation might actually lie, so I really can’t afford to believe you. I would feel better if you had insisted that the investigation would actually clear you and that you had insisted that the investigation continue and actually prove that you are innocent. As it is, now there are more questions than ever, at least in my mind.

The U.S. attorney office in New Mexico began an investigation last year into the hiring of a Richardson political donor, Beverly Hills-based CDR Financial Products Inc., as a financial adviser on state transportation bond deals. The state work generated almost $1.5 million in fees for CDR in 2004-2005.

CDR chief executive David Rubin and his firm contributed $110,000 to Richardson political committees in 2003-2005. The largest of those contributions, $75,000, was made less than a week before CDR was selected in June 2004 by the New Mexico Finance Authority to handle the reinvestment of idle bond proceeds.

Investigators reviewed whether Richardson’s former chief of staff, David Contarino, played a role in the hiring of CDR. A grand jury subpoenaed records from the governor’s office about CDR and former Richardson aideDavid Harris and Mike Stratton, a political adviser.

Harris served as Richardson’s deputy chief of staff and then became executive director of the Finance Authority, which selected CDR for the bond financing work.

Stratton, a Denver-based political consultant, served as a senior adviser to Richardson’s 2008 presidential campaign and was a consultant to CDR and another financial firm when the state put together the transportation bond deals in 2004.

Contarino and Stratton did not immediately respond to telephone messages seeking comment. Harris said he had been advised by his attorney not to make a statement until receiving a notice from prosecutors.

news.yahoo.com

Oh- well that seems –well, strange to me. I know- an aide to the Governor, David Harris, became the Executive Director of the Finance Authority right after a huge donation to Richardson’s political committee- eerie, isn’t it? And as a result, the contributor, CDR Financial Products got a huge hunk of business. Well, Gee- no conflict there, huh?

Does anyone in the Justice Department actually know what the definition of Justice  is? Hint- It is not throwing out cases just because you sympathize with someone’s politics or viewpoints- Lady Justice is supposed to be blind, and render judgements according to the merits of the case, not according to political party or viewpoint.

But Eric Holder is like Father Christmas, dispensing “get out of jail free” cards to everyone either of color, or of liberal viewpoint- The Black Panther thugs- Check; John Conyers- Check; Charlie Rangel- Check; Chris Dodd- Check; Timmy Geithner- Check. Man oh man- if these were Republicans getting this treatment, you’d have liberals so deranged, they’d be foaming at the mouth and biting their own backsides in a rabid, piranha- like attack on anything that moved. Grand Mal seizures would be involved, I am sure.

But since it is their side that gets the pass, they are alright with that- Phew!

Can you smell that smell?

Why aren’t Liberals Screaming?

Well, it has come out now that the White House and its occupants are sleazier than we could ever know, and Liberals Love It! We know they must, because you can just smell the musky scent of rank hypocrisy in the air, carried on the warm fetid breeze of Hussein’s words. Ah, God- where to start?

We would begin at the beginning, but like the snake Ouroboros, the one depicted eating its own tail, it is hard to find the true beginning here- but we’ll take a stab at it.

AKPD, an advertising/ public relations firm based in Chicago, and run by the Resident’s Chief of Staff David Axlerod’s son, has picked up 24 million dollars of advertising on behalf of Big Pharma, in favor of the healthcare plan. Now, my father was an ad man for fifty years, and I know there are many firms much more capable than this two- bit firm, so the connection has to be purely political, especially in light of the fact that AKPD still owes David Axlerod 2 million dollars- Gee- could this be a payoff? I would think so. Perhaps the FBI could look in Axlerod’s freezer- you never know.

If Dick Cheney had had Haliburton get favorable treatment, don’t you think Liberals would have raised a ruckus? Wait- he did, and they did—— So where is the left’s anger at apparent conflict of interest? I mean, if they are not hypocrites, they should be just as incensed at this. You would think.

On Tuesday, the House Republican Conference published a one-page talking points memo that says, “Even as President Obama campaigned on a platform of change and transparency, recent dealings between the pharmaceutical industry and the administration raise serious questions as to whether the drug lobby is helping to bankroll a multimillion dollar severance package for one of the president’s senior advisors.”

The memo refers to two ad deals, worth a total of $24 million, bankrolled by the pharmaceutical industry that went to an advertising firm founded by White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod. Although Axelrod no longer works for AKPD Message and Media, his son works there, and the firm still owes Axelrod $2 million.

AKPD is in part responsible for two separate $12 million ad campaigns funded by in part Americans for Stable Quality Care, a coalition led by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the industry association also known as PhRMA.

The drug industry stands to profit greatly from Mr. Obama’s health care plans and has negotiated deals with the White House to move the reform process along.

cbsnews.com

Yes, there are questions- if it talks like a Chicago thug, walks like a Chicago thug, it is David Axlerod. This is just another in the (apparently intentional- no one can be this dumb, can they?) tone deaf administration moves in recent weeks, along with the boycott of the “Glenn Beck Show” by “Green Jobs” Czar Van Jones pet organization, Color of Change , who pressured several cowardly companies to pull their advertising, in a very good impression of trying to silence dissent, and gag free speech- a stupid move, but I have not thought any aspect of this administration was smart for awhile now, so this latest faux pas is par for the course.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs on Tuesday called the claim that Axelrod will personally benefit from the ad deal “ridiculous.”

According to Politico, the pharmaceutical industry denies that the coalition chose AKPD to produce the ads because of its White House connections. In fact, PhRMA says it was not responsible in any way for choosing AKPD, regardless of the motivations.

“We’re very involved in reviewing ad copy and determining targeted districts and states, but not in determining which consultants are hired to carry out the campaign,” PhRMA vice president Ken Johnson told Politico. “That’s left to the people who you hire to manage it.” He points out that PhRMA is spending much more money airing its own ads.

cbsnews.com

Yes- you notice the quote by Robert Gibbs? Can you imagine if the position was reversed, and “the WH denies that Dick Cheney has personally benefitted from the “Haliburton” deal ridiculous,”  just how unhinged the left would be? are?

Does this make the administration’s push for healthcare more or less legit? I propose that it undermines his whole platform, but then it wasn’t much, not in substance, really- just old, discredited socialistic theories that he learned at his professor’s knee, and hasn’t been able to come to terms with the failure rate yet, which so far, is 100%.

Hussein is not going to give up, however- he hasn’t finished ramming his head into the brick wall yet, and he may never – this is a man who cannot admit to a mistake, miscue, or misspoken word.

How could he possibly admit to a mistake in picking friends and allies?
