Worker Got What He Voted For

Information technology workers went before the Senate Judiciary Committee on immigration reform and provided testimony that the US needed to protect skilled US workers. Many testified anonymously because of agreements they signed with employers.
One such worker testified that he lost his job when he was replaced by a foreigner with an H-1B visa. The article claims he is one of more than 400 workers from the same company, Southern California Edison (SCE), who lost jobs to foreigners.
This worker claims to have voted for Obama but is disillusioned over losing his job because of the president’s immigration policies.
“I’ve paid my taxes, obeyed the laws and have been a good citizen supporting the community with donations,” the former SCE worker wrote. “I voted for President Obama and was appalled that he implemented a rule change, which allows work permits to H-1B spouses. My future votes will only go to candidates that support reforms to the H-1B visa program that preserve the American worker.” National Review
Looks like this person got what he voted for. I feel sorry for him and others like him but something tells me he is not the only affected worker who voted for Obama (and other Democrats). Obama said he wanted to fundamentally transform the nation. He apologized for America and he discussed his ideas about immigrants long before he was elected. People knew, or should have known, what they were getting.
[note]These are skilled workers who were replaced by other skilled workers who happen to be immigrants here legally. Imagine how the unskilled (or low skilled) workers who will be replaced by millions of ILLEGAL immigrants will feel.[/note]
Obama lacked experience, was a community agitator and catered to illegals before he got elected. These folks are supposed to be smart so they should have seen what was going on.
They probably did and did not worry about it figuring it would not affect them personally. They are like all the people who supported Obamacare but are now unhappy because it is affecting them, something they figured (because Obama promised) would not happen.
So all I can say is elections have consequences and if you had paid attention during the campaigns you would not be before the Senate begging them to rein in an out of control anti American tyrant.

They Will Feel Right At Home In Baltimore

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake unveiled her plans to lure immigrants to the “Charm City”. There is no indication whether her plan is strictly for those here legally or all comers regardless of status but since Maryland welcomes illegals with open arms and Blake calls these folks New Americans like the moron governor, there is no doubt she will welcome them with open arms.
I don’t know what Blake wants to accomplish with her plan. Baltimore already has a high crime rate, a drug use and trafficking problem and large numbers of people on welfare so it is not like she is looking to actually change the landscape.
Perhaps she just wants to increase population since Baltimore keeps losing people who are tired of the failure of liberalism. There will always be the hangers on who have their hands out and expect gubmint to take care of them but those looking for a better life are fleeing the city (and in many cases the state all together).
Since most parts of Baltimore look and act like third world countries the immigrants, legal or not, will feel right at home and who knows, with a little work (ha ha work) on their part Baltimore might just hit the bottom it has been seeking for decades.
Blake wants 10,000 new families to inhabit her run down city and I am sure there are plenty of immigrants (including lots and lots of illegals) who are looking for a place to call home.
The rest of the counties should realize that while Blake is importing crime, disease and new welfare recipients they will be footing the bill.
Baltimore has two things going for it and those are the Ravens and the Orioles. If those teams played in another part of the state there would be no reason to visit the city.
Oh, it does have a new casino that attracts people from outside the city but it is too new to determine if it will be a plus or a minus for the city.
Of course the casino and stadiums do need people to clean them up and what better way than low wage immigrants.
Perhaps Blake can get her lawn taken care of as well…

Why Don’t They Just Stay Home?

Did you ever notice how many people come to the United States from other countries and then set about trying to change our way of life? How many Muslims come here for a better life and then try to impose Sharia Law? If you want Sharia then go back where you came from, they already have it there.
What about Canadians who come here for a better life? They come here because they can make better money and have better opportunities but then set about trying to change things to be more like their home country. They want universal health care so that those who pay taxes can foot the bill for those who do not. They bring a smug attitude about how superior they are and how much they know and think that their job is to better educate the dumb Americans.
Why don’t they just stay in Canada? Perhaps they did not like waiting eight months for a colonoscopy, or a year for an MRI. Perhaps the government taxed their goat farms and they could not write off their goats as prom dates. Perhaps they did not like the wages they earned and the high taxes they paid. Who knows?
But why do they come here and try to change things to what they left when they could just stay there and leave us alone?
Not all people who come here are this way and many assimilate and make great contributions. Unfortunately, a few bad apples arrive and give everyone a bad name.
Time was immigrants arrived here, learned the language and assimilated. Now they arrive and think they own the place.
I guess they are jealous that they were not chosen by God to be born in the greatest country in the world.
At least most of them are not sneaking across the border like people from a certain country to our south. Those folks think they own the place so much so that they don’t even bother to get permission before entering.

Did Obama Bite Off More Than He Can Chew?

I have read all the rantings over John McCain’s ads last week and how some people say they are full of lies. People lost their minds when John McCain accurately stated that Barack Obama wanted to teach sex education to kindergarten children. Obama and his supporters claim that it only dealt with inappropriate touching so children would know when someone was doing something wrong. Turns out that the curriculum that Obama wanted followed is absolutely inappropriate for children of that age and goes way beyond protection of children.
But the yappers were out screaming and when Karl Rove said that both campaigns were taking one step too far and distorting the truth the liberals, who live with their heads stuck someplace that blocks their ears, only picked up the part about McCain. Then they actually agreed with Rove, something I never thought I would see. Obama vowed to fight back. He is going to hit hard. Actually, he is just putting out statements taken out of context and telling lies. That is all OK but it would be nice if the same liberals who cried about their perception of McCain lying would go after The One.
I guess they don’t really have to go after him. Barack Obama did something really stupid today. He put out an ad that targeted Hispanics and the ad is in Spanish. The ad criticizes McCain and says he lied to the illegals. One can debate McCain’s record of reaching out to the Hispanic community. His support for amnesty was a major reason people were not enthusiastic with his nomination. If not for Sarah Palin, McCain would be toast. No, Obama can lie, in fact he did, about McCain’s record because this is politics and that is what happens. When a man runs scared he abandons his principles. No, Obama attacked Rush Limbaugh and he used two quotes from Limbaugh completely out of context. The use is so inaccurate that there is no way to look at it except as a deliberate distortion of the record; a lie.
Just so people know, the ad indicates that Limbaugh said “…stupid and unskilled Mexicans” and “You shut your mouth or you get out!”
The problem with this is that they are completely out of context. Here is what was said:
Railing against NAFTA in 1993, Limbaugh said, “If you are unskilled and uneducated, your job is going south. Skilled workers, educated people are going to do fine ’cause those are the kinds of jobs NAFTA is going to create. If we are going to start rewarding no skills and stupid people, I’m serious, let the unskilled jobs that take absolutely no knowledge whatsoever to do — let stupid and unskilled Mexicans do that work.”
Not one of his most eloquent moments, to be sure, but his larger point was that NAFTA would mean that unskilled stupid Mexicans would be doing the jobs of unskilled stupid Americans.

“And another thing: You don’t have the right to protest. You’re allowed no demonstrations, no foreign flag waving, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our President or his policies. You’re a foreigner: shut your mouth or get out! And if you come here illegally, you’re going to jail. ABC
Limbaugh said that if there are jobs for stupid and unskilled people then stupid and unskilled Mexicans can do them rather than stupid and unskilled Americans. The second part is when he is telling people the Mexican immigration law. He is telling people what the Mexican government’s position is. People do not have to agree with the point of view he expressed but Stevie Wonder can see that the Obama ad is a huge, deliberate lie.
Why is this a mistake for Obama? Barack Obama has to pay for airtime when he wants to run an ad. Every time he wants to put up an ad it costs him money. Rush Limbaugh has three hours of airtime each and every workday and he does not have to pay to get it. In fact they pay him to be on. Admittedly, Limbaugh has been on Obama’s case but truth be told, until McCain picked Palin Limbaugh was not on board with him. I don’t think McCain and Limbaugh like each other.
The point though, is that Limbaugh could unleash on Obama for three hours a day and he could have all those authors on for interviews. You know, the ones that Obama supporters try to shut down on orders from The One; the Constitutional lawyer who wants to deny others their right to express their views. Yes, Limbaugh could start taking all kinds of Obama quotes and using them out of context and he could keep playing that stuff for three hours a day, five days a week and it would not cost him a dime.
Obama would be forced to answer some of the allegations especially when they start going on the Internet and become viral. I just don’t think it was smart of Obama to pick a fight with a guy who talks for a living, reaches tens of millions of people a week, and has all the airtime and resources he wants to attack as much as he wants.
It was a boneheaded thing for Obama to do. Before anyone dismisses Limbaugh’s audience as a bunch of conservatives, he attracts a lot of Independents and that is the demographic that will decide the election. He might even convert some of the liberals who listen to him (we know they are there).
Do you suppose the same media that just last week called McCain sleazy will have the same to say about Obama?

Ban on HIV Positive Immigrants to be Lifted?

The ban on people with HIV coming to this country could soon be lifted if SB 2731 is enacted. This is a very stupid idea for several reasons.
People with HIV have a disease for which there is no cure. If they come here the chance of others getting infected increases but only because they are now here and can have contact. However, the chances of infection is especially greater for health care workers who might be exposed as the person’s need for health care services increases (as the disease progresses).
If people come here with this disease they will be entering into our health care system. It is unlikely they will have health insurance or the means to pay for their care so the burden of that cost will be borne by US taxpayers.
The people with the disease will eventually become too sick to work (assuming they get a job in the first place) so they will eventually be receiving welfare checks. This will add more financial burdens to the US taxpayer.
Unless the people with HIV are engaging in risky behavior the risk to others is nearly absent except for health care workers so this is not a consideration. Diseases like Tb kept people out because they were highly contagious but with HIV there must be direct blood or body fluid contact.
However, the disease is costly to treat and the people coming here will not be paying for it. The US taxpayer will be footing the bill and that is not what our tax dollars should be paying for. People with HIV should stay in their own countries and get their treatment at the expense of their government or international organizations.
It is wrong to expect us to pay for their illness when they have contributed nothing to our society. It is bad enough we are paying for all the illegals who are here.
