Your Patriotic Duty?

The Chief Medical Editor for NBC says she made (read forced) her children to sign up for Obamacare because it is their patriotic duty. This is an interesting twist on a law that mandates people purchase a product and violates their Constitutional rights. I should not be surprised because liberals will scream about patriotism when they want to force something on people or need to shame people into following along.
There are a lot of people who do not like Obamacare and have voiced their opposition. Hillary Clinton once told us that dissent is patriotic (warning screeching voice) so now we have two opposites. How can it be patriotic to sign up and patriotic to disagree?
Patriotism is cultural attachment to one’s homeland and devotion to one’s country. Signing up for healthcare is not patriotic. Being forced to do so is definitely not patriotic.
One form of patriotism involves serving in the armed forces of one’s home nation. We have an all volunteer military but men are required to sign up in case a draft is ever needed. We have had drafts in the past (most recently during the Vietnam War) and there were a huge number of people opposed to it. People burned their draft cards and dodged the draft and were hailed as heroes by liberals like this Chief Medical Editor.

If signing up for an unpopular (and unconstitutional despite the SCOTUS) law is patriotic then signing up for and being part of the draft (were one to be instituted) must also be patriotic.
So, if the country held a draft right now do you think this Medical Editor would make sure her kids signed up or do you think she would encourage them not to?
Hell, it is patriotic to enlist in the military and that is not a popular choice (based on the small number of people who do so) so if Dr. Nancy Snyderman of NBC really wants her children to do something patriotic she should MAKE them join the military.
I won’t hold my breath.
I will also set her straight. It is patriotic to NOT sign up for Obamacare and to oppose this overreach of government. The first patriots of this nation opposed an overreaching and oppressive government and we got a great nation.
Unfortunately, idiots like Snyderman, Obama, liberals and RINOs are destroying this nation.
But hey, because of their actions they will see lots of patriotism…
One last note. If Obamacare is so great why would she need to MAKE her children sign up?

At Least Police Officers Are Safer

Police officers carry firearms for one reason and that reason is to protect themselves. There is nothing wrong with that because there are a lot of really bad people in the world and the police get to deal with those bad folks so they should be able to protect themselves.
I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.
Looks like the police are safer as a new report shows that the number of law enforcement officers killed by a firearm in 2013 is at its lowest since the Wild West days. More officers were killed in traffic related accidents than by a firearm (half as many died of a heart attack).
This is great news for police officers.
For the regular person who lives in a state that infringes on rights the news is not so good. Those states restrict or ban (with unconstitutional laws) the right of the people to keep and bear arms. While police officers carry firearms to protect themselves the people they serve are denied that right.
The People’s Republik of Maryland is one such place. The Socialist Governor Martin O’Malley (who wants to be President) and his band of thieves in Annapolis have passed restrictive gun laws that violate the rights of the people who are supposed to be free citizens of the state (his Lt. Governor Anthony Brown is running to replace him. Brown, an Army veteran, is a socialist and supports gun control). Maryland likes to call itself the Free State but it is nothing of the sort.
The number of murders by firearms in Baltimore alone is about 9 times that of police officers NATIONWIDE. The people murdered with firearms were the victims (though often other criminals) of people who have no regard for the law and who do not obtain their firearms legally.
But the Socialist politicians in this state think law abiding citizens (who happen to be THEIR bosses) are the problem and have enacted laws that only affect those who follow the law.
Police officers have jobs that put them in harm’s way. They carry firearms to protect themselves. The people who are denied the right to keep and bear arms are not supposed to be in danger when they go about their lives. But as I stated earlier, it is a dangerous world and criminals love to go after unarmed people.
The people who are denied by their oppressive government (and Maryland is not the only place) are prey to those who have no regard for and do not follow the law.
So while it is great that fewer police officers were killed with firearms the reality is the people who live in tyrannical areas of the country (Maryland being one such place) are at the mercy of criminals and more of us are being murdered by them.
Unfortunately, some police officers support more gun control and take great pride in upholding unconstitutional gun grabbing laws for their puppet masters in the legislature.
Happy New Year. May it come with the overturning of all unconstitutional gun laws so we the people can once again be free.
That, after all, is the best way (but not the ONLY way) for us to regain our rights.

Harry Reid Loves Obamacare

But only for you…
Looks like Harry Reid does not think Obamacare is as wonderful as he let on when he helped jam it down our throats. He has exempted part of his staff from the mandate so that they can stay on the federal plan. Members of Congress have discretion with regard to certain staff as to whether they must enroll in the plan while the members and some other staff are required under the law to enroll.
Reid has decided that the Obamacare that is so wonderful it had to be forced upon us is not a great deal for some of his staff.
Seems to me if Reid can exempt some of his staff we should have the ability to exempt ourselves WITHOUT PENALTY.
In other words, why is it that the idea of if you like your plan you can keep it only applies to special folks while the rest of us are forced to get rid of plans we like to meet some federal mandate?
Remember, Harry Reid shut down the federal government over Obamacare. He refused to delay it for a year and allowed the government to shut down over his stubbornness. Now he is exempting part of his staff from the very thing he refused to change to avoid a shutdown.
The strange thing is after Reid allowed the government to shut down Barack Obama allowed the very delays that Republicans wanted because Obamacare is not working. Obama needed to push things past the next election.
Harry Reid, on the other hand, seems not to care about how it looks and what effect it might have on the next election. He exempted staff and Republicans were quick to jump on it.
Reid’s spokesman Adam Jentleson said that they were just following the law. Funny how they are following the law when they want to do something but refuse to follow the law or criticize those who do follow the law.
Cases in point; Reid never said a word about Obama not following the law as written and Reid as well as other Democrats have blamed all the insurance cancellations on insurance companies when they are only following the law.
In any event, keep this in mind during the next election. They impose on you while exempting others.
As an aside, you know Democrats are in trouble when they start invoking God to help them out. Reid and his buddies could very well lose control of the Senate and one of the Democrats in trouble is Mark Pryor of Arkansas. In his new ad he holds an open Bible and invokes God’s name.
Next year might be a real good one if we can get take control of the Senate and even better if we get rid of some RINOs along the way.

GM To Taxpayers: SUCKERS!

The CEO of Government Motors (GM) does not think his company should pay the government (read taxpayers) the 10 BILLION dollars that were lost when the Treasury sold its interest in the company. According to Dan Akerson the Treasury knew it was taking a risk, the same risk as anyone who purchases stock, when it spend billions of taxpayer dollars to keep the company from going bankrupt.
Akerson points out that the bailout helped prevent the loss of the company and kept jobs from being lost. But he also points out that Treasury took a chance when it infused money into the company by purchasing stock.
So what this guy is saying is, you took a chance with taxpayer dollars and that chance did not pan out to the tune of a 10 BILLION dollar loss. He does not feel the need to reimburse the taxpayers whose money kept the company around.
Isn’t it funny that this guy feels the government took a chance that had a risk associated with it and lost so it has no obligation to pay the money but he had no problem with taxpayers spending money to bail his company out. Owning and running a business has certain risks associated with it and one of those risks is going bankrupt. But Akerson does not feel his company should have to suffer the consequences of the risk associated with owning or running a company.
He feels his problems should be paid for by others but that any loss those folks suffered was their problem and not his.
The bankruptcy of GM was not the problem of the taxpayer. It was the problem of GM.
Mitt Romney said GM and other auto companies should not receive a bailout and should go through bankruptcy and solve THEIR problems that way.
Obama and his followers hammered Romney and said if it was up to him the auto companies would have gone under.
Romney had it right. GM bit the hand that fed it and we lost 10 BILLION dollars in the process.
Ford did not take a bailout and was able to work through tough times. That is why my new car is a Ford.
I loved my Jeep but could not replace it with another after Chrysler took a bailout.
Remember that you suffered a 10 BILLION dollar loss when you are out shopping for a new car. Do not buy a GM product.
No sense in rewarding a company that took advantage of the people who were forced to spend their hard earned money enriching executives and keeping union workers employed so they could continue voting Democrat.

Al-Qaeda is taking charge in Iraq
Once Obama took over in the US there was no doubt he would work to end the war in Iraq. He was warned that if he telegraphed our end date and if he withdrew too soon there would be a vacuum and it would be filled by bad people. The smartest man in the world ignored this and now al-Qaeda is taking charge in Iraq:

One might think Obama is incompetent or arrogant (both are true) and that this happened because of his inexperience and inability to listen. In reality, he likes the Muslim terror groups and is happy. He probably helped this along to ensure they would regain power.

Rahm “Twinkle Toes” Emanuel will fast for 24 hours to show solidarity with illegal immigrants. He believes that the time is now for immigration reform which is lib speak for amnesty for illegals. Those here legally have nothing to worry about and those who want to come here legally have nothing to fear (except that they will die waiting for government to get them cleared to enter) so “reform” is for illegals (or as we call them, new Democrats).
Mayor Rahm Emanuel plans to fast for 24 hours beginning later Thursday in support of the push for immigration reform, saying “we are sending a clear message to Congress that the time is now.” DNA Info Chicago
If he wants to show solidarity he should walk across the desert from Mexico. better yet he should walk TOWARD Mexico (and stay there).

Dick Durban, idiot Senator, has decided to join the fast in order to help out new Democrat voters AKA, illegals. Perhaps Durbin can hire some of those illegals to clean his filthy house and some others to make repairs around the place. He and two fellow Senators live like pigs in a house they don’t take care of. A few illegals paid under the table might clean up the mess.
Perhaps he will kick the bucket from the fast and then a few day laborers can make a couple of bucks digging his grave.
More Obamacare Failure
Looks like the regime wants insurance companies to bail it out. With the massive failure of the Obamacare launch there is no guarantee that people will sign up, that if they do they will have insurance, and that if they have insurance they will pay anything for it when it starts. The regime wants insurance companies to insure people starting January 1, 2014 even if their plans are not in order and even if they have not paid a thing.
What Obama wants is to avoid a lot of people who think they are covered showing up to the ER or a doctor’s office and being denied for LACK of insurance. In other words, Obama wants to make it look like all is going well so that a lot of people won’t get screwed over and further highlight the failure of Obama and Obamacare.
In other words, if you applied for Obamacare, have not been enrolled, have not paid a dime, and get sick on January 1, the Obama administration now wants insurance companies to pay for your care before you ever pay a dime. Furthermore, they want you to get care for which you will not be approved under your insurance plan. Truth Revolt
As you can see there are other things Obama wants insurance companies to do to help out. Insurance companies should say NO and if people are denied then they should be told exactly why they are denied, because Obama screwed things up.
Sometimes pain is the best teacher. Obama followers need to experience a lot of pain because they are pretty dense and it will take quite a bit to get their attention.
Why should insurance companies bear the brunt of this when Obama inflicted it?
Keep in mind for 2016, Hillary is as bad as or worse than Obama…
