McCain Looks To Regain Maverick Image
Jan 23, 2009 Political
It is no secret that I supported John McCain in the last election. McCain was not my first choice nor was he my second or third but the media worked hard to get him the nomination and so we were stuck with him. I backed John McCain because he has some positions with which I agree and Obama has virtually none. However, McCain is not a conservative and I was not happy with him as the choice. The pundits have declared that conservatism is dead and that the last election was a repudiation of conservatism but since no conservative ran, the claims of its early demise are greatly exaggerated.
Make no mistake. I think McCain is a war hero and he endured challenges that most of us could never imagine or tolerate but his time as a POW, while character building and a tribute to him, is not the same issue as his political ideology.
John McCain was a media darling and they wanted him as the Republican choice because he would be tolerable to them if a Democrat did not win. Obama was their messiah and they wanted him but McCain was a good second choice. The media rapidly turned on McCain and that was something he did not like.
Now that the election is in the history books McCain is looking to regain his status in the media and his image as a maverick. John McCain is a “maverick” because he often sides with the left. There is a lot of legislation that has McCain-[Democrat name] in the title. One of them dealing with campaign finance reform bit him in the rear during the election.
McCain chided his colleagues over the desire of some to delay the confirmation of Hillary Clinton to be Secretary of State. He told people that the election is over and the citizens have spoken. He said that we want them to work together.
Here is a newsflash for John, we have wanted the members to work together regardless of who won or how it turned out and not just for this election. These people get paid a lot of money and we expect they will work together to come to some kind of consensus as to what is best for the country. Instead, we get childish games based upon who is running for reelection and how positions will be perceived among the electorate. These people jockey for power and insist on putting in place measures they want as opposed to what the country wants.
The Democrats wanted 60 Senators so the could have a filibuster proof majority.
With Democrat-lite McCain, they just might have it.
At least the media will, once again, be happy with him.

John McCain Had His Chance For Honor
Nov 13, 2008 Political
During John McCain’s concession speech he made the statement that he was solely responsible for the loss. This was an honorable statement and showed the character expected of a leader. Leaders accept responsibility for failure and the phrase used by McCain gave the appearance of a true leader. This was in direct contrast with Barack Obama who never accepted responsibility for any of the things that took place during his campaign. Every time there was a problem Obama stated that [fill in name here] was not the same person he knew just before throwing that person under the bus.
The problem with McCain’s statement is that he failed to back up his words. After the loss a lot of blame was placed on Sarah Palin. People who were supposedly aligned with the campaign started telling stories of a diva Palin who could not, or refused, to be coached. The stories started fast and furious and they laid the blame for the loss at her feet.
John McCain was interviewed on the Tonight Show and he was asked about the stories. He could have put them to bed but gave a wishy washy answer that did nothing to dispel the stories about Palin. John McCain had the chance to live up to what he said in his concession speech by saying that the blame for the loss was his alone but he did not say that. Instead, he took the easy way out and failed to show true leadership. The straight talk express seems to have have lost the straight and resorted to just talk. And we all know that talk is cheap.
Let’s be clear here. Sarah Palin injected much needed life into the McCain campaign. John McCain is a RINO and he needed a true conservative to bring the base back home. Without Palin McCain would have lost by a much greater margin. I voted for McCain because he was, in my opinion, the better candidate of the two and he has a record on which we could make a judgment as opposed to Obama who has a paper thin resume. McCain was not my first (or second or third) choice but he was a better choice than Obama. Regardless, he is still a RINO who reaches across the aisle to make deals with the devils on the left. John McCain lost because he is not a conservative and even the true conservative Palin could not save him.
Conservatives win when they run but the base recognizes a RINO when it sees one and McCain is a RINO.

Time To Rally The Troops – McCain/Palin Victory
Nov 3, 2008 Political
Well, we have come down to the end of what seems like an eternal campaign season and tomorrow Americans (and some illegals as well as dead people and a few cartoon characters) will vote for a new person to run this country. This is the rally call for all to get out and vote for John McCain.
The poll numbers are now close because no pollster wants to look stupid on election day but the media and the pollsters have been misleading people all along. The race is close and it will likely come down to the wire tomorrow with several key battleground states playing a pivotal role in the process. The one and only thing that will determine the outcome of this election is voter turn out. If all the people who have conservative values as well as those who believe Obama is not the right man for the job turn out, there is no way John McCain can lose.
The media will try to discourage you. They have been doing that all along which is why they keep talking about landslides and an Obama win as a foregone conclusion. They do not want McCain supporters to vote so they can ensure their chosen candidate wins. We can stop them from winning by getting out and voting. We have the numbers if we ALL just get out and vote. They think we are disheartened. They think we are uninspired and they think they have this wrapped up. It is up to us to show them that the voters decide the elections and not the media wing of the Democratic party.
No matter what you hear you must get out and vote. The media will play this very dirty. Exit polls will be released very early in the day claiming a big Barack Obama win. This will be a deliberate attempt to influence McCain voters. They will be leaking this “news” to discourage us from voting. Remember their early exit polls in 2004. If they had been correct John Kerry would have been president.
We cannot allow ourselves to get caught up in the emotion of the moment. We absolutely must vote regardless of the news we hear. Some networks are going to call certain key states for Obama as soon as their polls close to discourage you. They will be proved wrong later and will be laughed at but they do not care. Their goal is to secure an Obama win. If he wins, their gaffe will be overlooked. If Obama loses the networks that called states for him early on will look like fools and fall under heavy scrutiny. After all they have done to us and for Obama in this election it is our time to get out and make them look bad. We have the power but we must remain focused.
Those of you on the west coast will be particularly vulnerable as will some east coast states that close after a few of the central states. Regardless of what you hear you must vote. It is imperative that you vote NO MATTER WHAT.
I know this is repetitive but the process is not a lost cause unless we either do not turn out or we allow them to influence our behavior by convincing us that it is a waste of time to go vote. They will work very hard throughout the day to keep you from voting.
Do not let idiots like Keith Olberman and his ilk influence your behavior. No matter what get out and vote. We hold our fate and our destiny in our hands.
Remember how close Florida was in 2000? That is because a network deliberately called the state for Gore an hour before the polls closed in the panhandle which is in the central timezone. That area is heavily Republican and tens of thousands of people went home rather than stand in line because they were convinced by the media that Bush had lost. If they had stayed in line the fiasco after the election would never have happened.
They will try this again. They will call states early and they will continually say that exit polls show Obama in a landslide. There is no winner until all of our votes are counted and that means we have to vote for them to count.
Remember, you MUST vote. Get your family and friends and head to the polls. There should be no obstacle that keeps you from the polls. The people in Iraq risked death to vote and they still voted. We can accept nothing less than 100% dedication to this cause.
Get out and vote and we can win. The Democrats are counting on their newly registered supporters but we have many more people as long as we all vote.
Let’s keep clear heads, keep our emotions in check and make sure we are in the battle. We need all our troops to rally now to ensure that America is not taken over by Obama and his Socialist plans. It is time for us to show John McCain the same dedication he has shown this country. We cannot let him down.
See you in victory!
Obama wins the popular vote but:
McCain 274 Obama 264 in the electoral.
It can happen but the outcome depends on you.
Why No War Coverage During Campaign?
Nov 3, 2008 Political
When the Democrats were engaged in their drawn out primary they discussed the war on terror in Iraq quite frequently. Obama claimed that he had the best judgment because he opposed the war though no one knows how he would have voted because he was not in the Senate. In his 143 days of work (yep that is how many he has in 4 years) he has not done much to show his strong opposition or immense wisdom.
The war was supposed to be the big issue. The Democrats were going to club Republicans to death over Bush’s mismanagement of the war. Obama said the surge did not work, Reid said we lost and many other Democrats talked about how we were doing poorly.
Ever since the general election campaign started there is little news about the war. In three debates the issue was barely discussed other than some foreign policy discussion and Obama’s refusal to acknowledge the success of the surge. He also had the opportunity to lie about what he “has said all along” (when Obama uses those words he is lying and it is not what he said all along).
Perhaps the war is not discussed because the Democrats can get no traction out of it. When things were going rough they were going to ride anti war sentiment into the White House. The problem for the Democrats is, despite their best efforts, we are winning. The US has suffered the lowest number of casualties since the war began with 13 in October and 61 since the beginning of August. The number of Iraqi deaths has also fallen.
Our heroes are doing a great job and we are winning the war. George Bush has been beaten up pretty badly over the war but we are making real progress. It is not time to pull our troops out. We need an exit strategy that includes winning as a precondition of coming home.
It is hard to tell what Obama will do because he told people during the primaries that he would take them out immediately. Then he started changing his tune and now he calls for responsible withdraw. Responsible withdraw is when we win.
John McCain will not allow our troops to be defeated and will do a much better job with the military. Obama can claim he is better suited to be the Commander in Chief but those claims are from a fantasy world. John McCain had forgotten more about the military that Obama will ever know.

Iran Prepares Obama’s Crisis Test
Nov 1, 2008 Political
When North Korea conducted nuclear tests the MSM were all over that story. It was over a July 4th holiday and my relaxation was interrupted by continual coverage of the nuclear tests and how the Bush administration had failed. I know, you are surprised as well. Clinton gave the NoKos all the stuff they needed to develop nukes and then took a handshake and a nod that they would only use them for good. The ink on the sales receipts was not even dry before Lil’ Kim started on his nuclear program.
Anyway, the point is that the media were all over it. It was reported for a few days and the Democrats made political hay out of saying that Bush took his eye off North Korea and they went nuclear on us.
President Bush has had his eye on Iran for some time now and he has been warning about Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Iran swears (by Allah) that they are only developing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. Right. Bush is not buying it and neither is Israel because Iran would shoot nuclear missiles at Israel to achieve a dream of wiping out that country. Democrats have been sucking their thumbs worrying that President Bush will go to war with Iran over the issue. Democrats are weak on things like war. They vote for wars when it is politically expedient and then call the wars mistakes and say we need to lose quickly. Obama started off as the guy who would bring our troops home TODAY (his words). Now he will do it in a phased fashion.
Back on track though. There were two recent earthquakes in Iran and a top nuclear scientist there is claiming that they were actually tests of nuclear bombs. That could very well be. The entire time Iran told the world that it had suspended enrichment they actually continued to work. For nearly two years Iran continued moving toward nuclear weaponry while the world thought they were on hold.
The Israeli National News is reporting that a scientist from Iran has claimed the earthquakes were nuclear tests and not really earthquakes. I am not sure if there is a way to tell the difference or not so I have no way of knowing if this person is credible. It is also possible that the claim was “leaked” to stir up controversy.
Regardless, how many stories about this have been on the news? Not many and that is because the media does not want to have a national security issue pop up at the last minute and hurt the chances of The Sainted One of becoming president. Remember, Joe Biden told us to mark his words, the world will test Obama and his response might not look right. Given Obama’s antisemitism perhaps the test is, Iran nukes Israel and Obama ignores it.
If this were not an election year the media would be all over it and blaming George Bush. Fortunately, they are only testing so by the time they get to having nukes the new president will be in office and on the job. If it is Obama we can blame it all on him because it happened on his watch. It would have to be his fault anyway because Joe Biden said that an Obama presidency would bring about the crisis.
If McCain is in office I think Iran will reconsider any attacks on our allies.
