They Attack Palin Out Of Fear
Sep 3, 2008 Political
John McCain’s surprise pick of Sarah Palin to round out his ticket has sent shock waves throughout the land of politics. Republicans are energized and Democrats are suddenly fearful. They fear that they might just lose in a year that they should win and do so handily. They fear that Obama made a serious mistake by selecting Joe Biden over Hillary Clinton (a ticket I think would have won). You can tell the Democrats think Palin is the real deal and a threat because of the vicious way that they immediately attacked her and the way they continue to do so.
It started when the Obama campaign failed o acknowledge that she is a Governor and it was compounded by the assertion that she lacked any experience. Who could blame Obama for belittling the executive experience that Palin has as a Mayor and ignoring her executive experience as a Governor? For his campaign to suggest she lacks experience smacks of hypocrisy since she has more leadership experience than any of the Democrats in the race. John McCain has never held an executive position but he was in the military and certainly served as a leader there. However, Palin has more executive experience than he does.
The hits kept on coming when the Democratic Propaganda Outlet (Daily Kos) published an absolutely false story that Palin was actually the grandmother of her youngest child and faked the pregnancy to cover her daughter’s delivery. Some went so far as to suggest that Palin’s husband was the daddy of the daughter’s supposed child.
Now, a writer for a small and insignificant Baltimore paper has said that the selection of Palin is insulting on many levels. Susan Reimer of the Baltimore Sun indicates that it is nothing more than pandering for John McCain to select a woman who is inexperienced and expect people who would have voted for the experienced Hillary to vote for the GOP ticket. Though Hillary is far more experienced than Obama, I fail to see how she is more experienced than Palin. Hillary has about 8 years experience in the Senate. She has never held any other elected office and she has no executive experience. She only got the Senate seat in New York by riding the coattails of her husband. If Bill Clinton had never been president then Hillary would never have been a Senator.
Palin did not ride to office on the coattails of her husband. She is self made and earned her elected positions on her own merit. So the question is, Susan, why would you feminist women support a woman who needed a man to get ahead rather than one who made it on her own? Reimer takes issue with the fact that Palin is pro life, a member of the NRA and thinks creationism should be taught next to evolution. I find no reason to be against someone who believes in the sanctity of life and who supports the Second Amendment. I also find it refreshing that someone would offer differing opinions on how we got here. Palin wants children to be given differing points of view whereas Reimer only wants them indoctrinated with an unproven, flawed theory.
People like Reimer will come out in full force to attack Palin because she is strong and she is a real threat to their victory. Adding her to the ticket reinvigorated Republicans and will likely sway some of the Independents and women who feel that Hillary was mistreated by the chauvinistic Obama campaign. She is a real threat and the Democrats do not like it. They were outflanked by John McCain who demonstrated that a little tactical training comes in handy.
These people will make the mistake of underestimating Sarah Barracuda and will regret it. She is bright and fierce and will take them apart. Don’t let her good looks fool you, this woman is the real deal and will fight a tough fight.
The Democrats are in turmoil. Obama got a 6 point bounce from his convention and McCain stole his thunder by announcing the selection of Palin. He and his supporters know they should be way up but they seem unable to close the deal. This is troubling to them and they have a real fear that they could lose this November. Therefore, they are doing the only thing they know how to do and that is to attack with lies. They will continue to do this until the general election because they are afraid. Seriously, if she were a lightweight or someone with whom they need not concern themselves, why are they attacking her so ferociously? The Democrats have even stooped so low as to release Palin’s Social Security number. Seems Chuckie Schumer did this to Michael Steel. Not only illegal, but unethical as well.
Palin gives her convention speech tonight. I expect she will deliver an outstanding speech that will further energize the base and grab the attention of Independents and those who have yet to decide.
After Palin speaks there will be plenty of Democrats losing sleep.
And there will be more unfounded attacks.

Biden Is Obama’s Cheney
Sep 1, 2008 Political
Barack Obama has talked a great game during the last two years. He has spent half of his time in the Senate running for president and during that time he has talked about change and how we needed fresh blood in DC. Then he picked a man who has been a Washington insider for 36 years to be his running mate which essentially negated the idea that he wanted change.
Obama had to select someone with experience because he has little of his own. He has never led anything and his claim to fame is being a community organizer. From all accounts the community is worse off than when he “organized” it but a lot of his friends made money.
Obama went on a world tour to show how loved he was and give the impression that he was ready to be Commander in Chief. Unfortunately for him, the Russians were having none of the Rock Star in Berlin. They attacked Georgia and Obama’s three statements on the issue were weak and showed the glaring gap in foreign experience he has when compared to John McCain. Obama finally released a tough statement that made sense but not before showing that he was a babe in the woods (O-Bambi). Obama showed that traveling with his gypsy parents to different countries when he was a kid did not quite equate to the foreign policy experience he claimed. He needed someone who would beef up the foreign policy credentials of the ticket and thus he selected Biden, a man who I have stated in the past is well informed in foreign policy.
Biden is Obama’s Dick Cheney. Biden is in his 60s so it is unlikely he will run against Obama after a first term in office therefore he is free to say and do what he wants. He is the voice of experience for Obama (a Washington insider voice rather than a voice of change) and he is the attack dog for the ticket. He can go after John McCain and Sarah Palin while Obama gives the image of being as pure as the driven snow the icy precipitation, not the drug cocaine). If elected, Biden will be the voice in the head of a president with little experience in Washington just like Dick Cheney was to George Bush.
The left hates Dick Cheney and every time there is a rumor about his heart they hold candlelight vigils praying that Cheney dies. Anytime Cheney has chest pain the hate sites of the left celebrate that this might be the one. The left also hates Cheney because they say he is a chicken hawk (which is actually a fierce creature) because he received five deferments and did not serve in Vietnam. I have seen more than one story from the left about Cheney’s deferments and none of them were very flattering. This is one more issue with which Joe Biden compares.
Biden received five deferments from the draft and thus never had to serve in Vietnam. After the fifth deferment Biden was not eligible for service because of childhood asthma, an ailment that had never been previously disclosed. In Biden’s stories about his life (in his book Promises to Keep) he discussed having an active childhood and playing football and other sports. There is no mention of asthma and no mention of any limited ability. Since Biden voted FOR the 2002 invasion of Iraq but received five deferments from service, does that make him a chicken hawk?
I realize that the left is full of hypocrisy and that they have trouble applying the same standards to themselves that they apply to others. Look at how they are treating Sarah Palin. They are criticizing her for being a working mother and for working up until she delivered her last child. They are attacking her for doing all the things they have said women could do for years. The slight variation is that liberals love abortion so that a woman does not have to choose between her job and her kid. Sarah Palin demonstrated true pro choice when she chose both of them. It is easier to do both when a mother AND a father are present and work as a team to raise their children. Since many on the left believe that marriage is no big deal and should not be protected and since a large number of their constituents have one parent homes, it is easy to see why they don’t quite understand.
In any event, the left is full of hypocrites so I don’t expect to see Biden called a chicken hawk and I don’t expect to see any stories from the left telling us how he used special connections to get deferments from service and I certainly don’t expect to see stories questioning the asthma issue as a fabrication. If Biden were a Republican there would be a thousand stories about it and the asthma would be deemed a lie, manufactured to avoid service. But since he is a liberal Democrat we will not see much in the way of criticism of this. The MSM will not cover it and Biden will not receive the same level of scrutiny or scorn that Cheney did.
But make no mistake about it, Joe Biden is Barack Obama’s Dick Cheney. He will be his brain and he will be his conscience. Biden and Cheney only differ in political ideology. Their temperaments are the same, their experiences are the same (except Cheney actually worked in the real world where as Biden has lived off the government all his life), and they both received five deferments from the draft.
I never had a problem with deferments but since the left has been obsessed with them I demand the same scrutiny of their candidates who voted for war but never served because of them. Until they can come clean on that issue, they lack any validity.
Biden is a chicken hawk and he is not the change that Barack Obama promised to bring to Washington.
Biden is Obama’s Cheney but I doubt the left will hate him as much…
Just to refresh people’s memories; John McCain attended the Naval Academy and then fought in Vietnam. He did not get a deferment and refused early release from a POW camp where he was tortured because it would not be fair to those who were there longer. Obama could never match that record and neither can Biden (or Cheney for that matter).
As for patriotism, I think Stop the ACLU has a great story about the Democrats and their patriotism. It was not hard to find American Flags at their convention. All you had to do was look in the trash.
**UPDATE: Dr. Bulldog attended a McCain/Palin rally and found NO flags in the trash…
**UPDATE 2: To be clear, I like Dick Cheney. I don’t like Biden’s politics. The point is that it will be interesting to see how the left treats a guy who is nothing more than the man they hate so much.

McCain Picks Palin
Aug 29, 2008 Political
John McCain energized the race for the presidency by selecting Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska, as his running mate. Palin is a conservative who will help firm up support from the base as well as Independents. Palin is the mother of 5 and her oldest is serving in the Army. He will deploy to Iraq in September.
John McCain showed many things with this pick. His campaign was much more disciplined and better able to keep the secret. While this might not be very important in a campaign (but I will say why it was later), it is important to national security. He also made a qualified pick that has Executive experience. While it might only be a year and a half, it is more than any other candidate has. She might just bring some of the Hillary supporters on board.
Already the pick has caused a gaffe by the Obama campaign. It released a statement on her selection questioning her qualifications. The release might be seen as an insult to Mayors across the country. The release, which stated that McCain has picked someone with no foreign policy experience to be a heartbeat away from the presidency, undercuts Obama. He selected Biden for his foreign policy credentials which is an admission that he lacks in that area. So he is saying that it is bad to have a person like her a heartbeat away but that he should be the heartbeat. As for experience, she has more Executive experience than he does so the question of experience reflects back on Obama. If she is not qualified than how can he be? The release also neglected to acknowledge that she was a Governor and instead stated that McCain selected the Mayor of a town of 9000 to be his running mate. Seems to me that is more than the number of votes Joe Biden got when he was running for president.
I am very excited that John McCain selected her. She will be good for the campaign and good for the country. I am also happy because this is who I wanted him to pick. My support depended on his selection and now he has it.
If we want to discuss change and a broken DC, who selected the person that is not a DC insider?
For those who think Biden will walk all over her in the debate, her nickname is Sarah Barracuda.
I wonder if Obama or his supporters are wishing that Hillary had been selected as the running mate? I certainly believe there are a number of people second guessing the Biden decision today. Perhaps this is why the selection was such a well kept secret.
DC Republican has a list of facts on the next Vice President of the US, Sarah Palin.
Kat from Cathouse Chat is now on board as is Gribbit from Gribbit’s Word.

Pelosi and Hoyer No Match for Thinking People
Aug 26, 2008 Political
A group of protesters chanting “Drill Here, Drill Now” in front of Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer were confronted by the House leaders when Pelosi asked if it was OK to drill their brains. Nancy, it is only OK to drill a person’s brains when that person wants to become a liberal Democrat. Then and only then may you remove brains.
Hoyer, a Democrat from Maryland, stated:
“sophomoric chanting” won’t solve the energy crisis and that “all thinking Americans know” — stressing the word “thinking” and looking at the crowd — that America doesn’t have a quarter of the word’s fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the world’s energy. Politico
Hoyer couldn’t find his ass if his hands were in his back pockets and he is talking about people who think. Here are a few thoughts for him:
- Was it not Obama who said he was open to drilling for oil and did not Nancy Pelosi then follow suit? According to Hoyer, are they unthinking?
- Have not the Democrats been using sophomoric chants throughout the convention? Pelosi had them chanting that Obama was right and John McCain was wrong.
- Hoyer keeps talking about solving the energy crisis but Democrats have been touting alternative energies for years. Nothing has panned out yet and we can’t get rid of oil until we have something else that works as well.
- If they are now acting as if drilling won’t matter is it safe to assume the remarks about being ready to drill were a ruse to fool people into voting for them? (as I predicted earlier).
- Is Pelosi aware that we could have oil flowing in 1-3 years (not 10) and that an increase in supply will reduce the prices far more than a few cents?
- If the protesters are “2 cents in 10 years” as Pelosi called them, does that make her no sense ever?
These people do not care about the country. They only care about being reelected and they will say anything to accomplish that. They have had an abysmal record since they took control despite all the lies Pelosi told to embellish their record. They are do nothing losers and they should all be voted out of office.
Hoyer is a mental midget who suffers from such a chronic case of cranial rectitis that he needs a silica umbilicus to see where he is going.

Hillary Supporters, Come on Over
Aug 26, 2008 Political
On the night the “Unifying” convention got under way a poll shows that about 30% of Hillary Clinton supporters do not support Barack Obama. Most of these folks are taking a risk by bucking the party because they risk being castigated and called traitors. Look at how Joe Lieberman has been treated since he dared to support John McCain. It is amazing that all the Democrats who refused to support him actually expect him to support them. He has given them more support than they deserve.
In any event, the Hillary supporters are not willing to support Obama. They do not think he is experienced enough and they believe that Hillary was treated unfairly during the primaries. I have said it before and I extend the offer again, come on over. You do not have to change parties (though you can if you want) and you will be free to support who you want in four years (and we won’t call you traitors). If you want to defeat Obama and give Hillary a shot in four years then the best way to do it is to get behind McCain. We can be united today for McCain and in four years we can have a spirited debate about which of the two is better qualified to lead this country. If Obama wins Hillary will not get another shot.
There are many like you who are upset. This is Debra’s story:
Now I know that if Hillary had been the nominee Debra would be supporting her and we would be on opposite sides. But the fact that Hillary lost does not mean that Debra or millions like her have to devote blind allegiance to whomever the party nominates. They should be free to vote for whom they please without being bullied or labeled as traitors. You folks should be free to put country above party and vote for what is in the nation’s best interest.
Folks, you know that terrible feeling you have in your stomach? You know that nagging ache that keeps making you wonder what if? That feeling that lets you know that you lost but still makes it hard to believe? That pain is awful and anyone who loses after putting in as much time and energy as you did and then loses has felt it and no one likes it. It intensifies as you are forced to watch the convention knowing your candidate will not be the nominee.
It is your turn to give that feeling to all the Obama backers. You have the opportunity to give a gut punch to the people who treated your candidate badly and who then treated you badly while celebrating their victory, a victory assisted by the media, a media that also turned on your candidate. You can take the life out of millions of people and their puppets in the media by voting John McCain into the White House. It will deflate Obama’s huge ego and it will give you the chance to say “I told you so.”
Come on over to our side. Yes we have differing opinions on some of the subjects but we are united in our belief that Obama lacks the experience to be president and would be a dangerous pick for our country. Remember, if he wins Hillary will not be able to run in four years. If he loses she will be all but assured the nomination.
Come on over and let’s put them through the same pain you feel. Revenge is a wonderful therapy and a dish best served cold.
