Flotilla Might Be Blessing For Israel’s Iranian Dispute

The Iranians have been threatening to wipe Israel off the map for a number of years now and Israel has had to listen to the trash talk with little or no support from the international “community.” Iran has been working its way toward nuclear weapons as the world pretends to care and pretends to be working to stop them.

There was once word that Israel would attack Iran before allowing it to produce nuclear weapons but any discussion of that is poo pooed by the US government. No matter what happens and no matter what is said, Israel turns out to be the one blamed in any conflict.

An unrelated situation might give Israel the chance to knock off Iran without having to be the ones to start the conflict. The so called peaceful humanitarians have been attempting to run Israeli blockades and have been turned away. A recent attempt ended in bloodshed and death as the “peaceful” people attacked Israeli soldiers and were justly sent to meet their makers. The group has vowed to keep sending ships until it is able to break the blockade. A recent ship was boarded and taken to an Israeli port for inspection. The people on that ship learned from the deaths of the others and did not attack the Israeli soldiers.

This particular situation might be what pits Israel against Iran. The Iranians have stated that they would send their Navy to escort the humanitarian aid vessels.

“Iran’s Revolutionary Guard naval forces are prepared to escort the peace and freedom convoys that carry humanitarian assistance for the defenceless and oppressed people of Gaza with all their strength,” pledged Hojjatoleslam Ali Shirazi, Khamenei’s personal representative to the guards corps. Guardian UK

If the Iranians escort those vessels and refuse to stop then the Israeli Navy will be pitted against the Iranian Navy and the Iranians will not stand a chance in that particular engagement. The Iranians are only offering to help in order to provoke the Israelis but the ploy might benefit the Jewish state.

Once the Israelis get rid of the Iranian Naval vessels escorting the flotilla the encounter will be more than enough reason for the Israelis to attack Iran and keep on attacking until that place is unable to mount any future offensive operations. It might even be sufficient enough to end the Iranian’s nuclear ambitions.

This potential situation can only be a good thing for Israel. It will have reason to take care of Iran and will not have started the conflict.

All because the people who refuse to do things the proper way insist on breaking the blockade.

See, some good can come from this whole mess.

Maybe the Iranian plan is what Hillary was talking about

Never surrender, never submit.

McCain To The Rescue

During the campaign Barack Obama told us how his limited experience made him a better choice as Commander in Chief than John McCain, a decorated veteran. Of course there were many variables in the election and John McCain was not the ideal candidate. He was the wishy-washy middle of the road Republican that Colin Powell says we need. Of course, Powell endorsed and voted for Obama. I can only conclude that race was the deciding factor.

Now that the Community Organizer in Chief has been in office for a while the world is able to see how weak kneed he is. The Muslim world is thumbing their collective noses at him and North Korea is launching missiles and testing nuclear devices. Obama said that his strategy was to just talk with these people because that would bring us all together. He is an organizer of the world community.

The only problem is that no one is listening. North Korea is now preparing to launch a missile at Hawaii. The missile is reportedly unable to reach Hawaii but just aiming it at us and firing it is an act of war. North Korea also has a cargo ship moving around and experts believe it has weapons and other materials banned under UN resolution.

The Navy Destroyer USS John McCain is preparing to intercept that vessel in what North Korea will certainly see as an aggressive act. It is unclear what the ship will do once it intercepts but Lil Kim will not be happy no matter what it does. Fortunately, the McCain is manned by people from the finest Navy in the world.

Will this escalate into war? Will it provoke Lil Kim and will we need to retaliate (if Obama even has the testicular fortitude to do so)?

These things remain to be seen but I find it ironic that the McCain is working on unscrewing the mess Obama has made of things.

Memorial Day

On this day, I thought I might speak about our Armed Forces- it is a day for honoring and remembering those who have laid their lives on the line and sacrificed themselves so that we might remain free. Our armed forces have a storied history, and for any naysayers who are keeping count, there have been far fewer negative incidents than the positive and uplifting stories of bravery and compassion from our men and women.

My personal experience is not first- hand, as I missed out on being drafted in 1970 by one lottery number- I was, I had thought at the time, lucky- and perhaps I was. A person can wonder about what never was forever, and not get an answer. I was prepared to go if called, but I wasn’t happy about it. I was eighteen, and had other things on my mind at the time.

Many friends of mine went, and some didn’t return. Of those that did, they returned different. War does that- killing someone makes people think, and being scared 24/7 will do that also, because even on leave, the feeling doesn’t quite leave you, or so I have been told.

Other friends chose the National Guard, because those were your choices, join or be drafted, and as our Army Generals found out, a draft doesn’t work. People have to be of the right mindset to join, and those that do make better soldiers in the long run. I find it amusing that all through the Iraq war, one friend of mine, who had grown up at the same time as me was concerned about Bush reinstating the draft. I told him repeatedly that it wouldn’t happen, but he was worried about his son, who clearly isn’t Army material.

I have friends who went into the Navy- one still can’t tell me anything about his tours in a sub. Others went Air Force, and one was a Marine who was a LRRP for two tours- now he was scary, despite the fact that he weighed 145 pounds soaking wet. I once saw him take out three people at a pool table who were harassing him. Him I did not want for an opponent. We became fast friends, however- and a truer friend I have never had.

So the Draft Army became the Volunteer Army, and since has gone through several stages of shrinkage and growth, as politicians diddle with the Armed Forces, and, depending on the politician’s beliefs and prejudices, our Armed Forces have prospered or learned to do with less, but all the time have endured and protected us wherever they have been sent.

This is a magnificent force, one that has accomplished many positive things, and when you include the National Guard in the mix (as you must), these men and women have helped us at the cost to their lives and indeed at times, their families. They have been there to fight our battles, and they have been there to help in our disasters.

They are, indeed, our national treasure, one without whom we would be nothing.

Today, we should all feel pride, as well as humility, as we honor those who have fallen in all of our wars, as well as those who have come home to help make this country the best it can be.

Even though many of us disagree in the direction of this country, we should not disagree about the worth of the men and women in uniform, nor of their rightful place in our society.

Take a moment today and say thanks to a vet.

Would This Be A Preemptive Strike?

The left went nuts over our attack on Iraq claiming that we should not engage in preemptive strikes. They went along with it all until public sentiment started to change and then they all claimed they were tricked into voting for the war by a guy they all think is stupid. Iraq was not the first time we attacked a country that did not attack us. Japan attacked us in 1941 and we went to war with them and Germany. Germany did not attack us.

In any event, the left was dead set against the idea, at least when it was politically helpful to do so. But now they are in control and occupy the seat at the top. Things might be a little different now. The Navy is prepared to shoot down any missile that North Korea launches if Obama gives the go ahead.

The North Koreans claim they are going to send a satellite into space and the Navy says that if it is a satellite it will be left alone but if the missile is determined not to be one they will shoot it down if Obama gives the order.

This puts Obama in a tough spot. He and his ilk opposed the Bush Doctrine of preemptive strikes so if Obama decides to shoot down a missile he will basically be doing the same thing. In reality, unless that missile is heading for us or our interests we need to leave it alone. If we shoot it down then we are taking a preemptive posture.

Now I am not opposed to preemption and I think there would be no problem shooting down any missile launched just to assert our power and make the NOKs think before doing something stupid. If Obama and the Democrats had not opposed preemption I would not care what they do but since they did oppose it, they need to be held accountable for any act of preemption.

You can bet that if he shoots it down all the libtards who chastised Bush will be rationalizing The Evil Won’s actions. It will also show the value of missile defense, a program the Democrats want to scale down or eliminate.

It would not surprise me if Obama gives the order to shoot it down. Preemption was something Bush believed in.

And so far, Obama has kept a lot of Bush’s policies and practices in place.
