Fox News is reporting that the body of Marquise Hill has been located. Hill, a NFL Player for the Patriots, was last seen in strong currents after he fell off jet skis in Lake Pontchartrain. Neither Hill or his woman friend were wearing life jackets. She made it to safety and he did not.
I wonder how long it will be before Kanye West blames this on President Bush and Senator Mary Landreau asks for a billion more money to buy life jackets..

Global Warming Irony

I have already pointed out he number of instances where the global warming zealots have made plans only to have them cancelled due to snow, ice, or cold. I have also linked to many articles where certain regions were experiencing the most snow and ice or lowest temperatures and setting or nearly setting records. This does not stop the global warming advocates who have learned to use pseudoscience in order to push their agenda. Since they have declared the unproven theory as a given they have had to use another tact to explain away the inconsistencies. They just blame everything on global warming. Hurricanes, blizzards, ice storms, cold, snow, sleet, your dog getting pregnant, it is all because of global warming.
The latest in the long string of embarrassing incidents in the global warming saga involves Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen who decided to go off on a 530 mile journey across the Arctic Ocean to show the effects of global warming on the environment. The extremely COLD temperatures (100 degrees below zero) drained the batteries in some of their equipment and left Arnesen with frostbite in several toes. It was reported that they sounded extremely cold when they called in. It would appear that global warming has not had as much of an effect as they believed.
True to the moonbat cause of believing in global warming despite any evidence to the contrary, the story concludes in this fashion:
“They were experiencing temperatures that weren’t expected with global warming,” Atwood said. “But one of the things we see with global warming is unpredictability.” Yahoo News
Global Warming causes everything….

Gag A Prostitute, Get Real

The title of the article at The Smoking Gun is; “Feds Seek To Gag D.C. Madam.” I must admit that the title was intriguing on a number of levels. First of all, unless you are a gifted, and I mean really gifted, man the odds are you will not gag a prostitute. Second, and probably most importantly, the Feds lack testicles or anything else that represents manhood so it is unlikely they could gag anyone. Then, I realized my mind was in the wrong place. The Feds want to keep this real estate merchant from disclosing the contents of her little black book, as it were.
Seems that Deborah Palfrey, who ran a high end escort service, is threatening to disclose her client list. She was arrested and all her assets frozen so she needs some leverage. Palfrey has phone records from 13 years of business and there are supposedly some well known names associated with her business. The Feds are trying to make the case that these records contain personal information and she should not be allowed to disclose it.
Since when is anything in DC a secret? Why is it that the Feds will push to keep the names of Johns secret but will do nothing to stop rags like the New York Times when they bleed our national secrets to our enemies? Seems to me that the Feds have their priorities all wrong. Of course, it could be that some of those Federal Prosecutors are on that hooker list. Perhaps a judge or two (or three or four). I am sure there are plenty of politicians on the list. It seems that screwing people is what they do best so that should come as no surprise. I would also like to know how it is that the names of the clients are a secret when they were technically committing a crime. I see names of guys arrested for soliciting prostitution all the time.
Granted, the people who visited the flesh peddler probably want the information to remain secret but that does not mean that it should be. I believe that this woman should be allowed to disclose what ever she wants. Let the chips fall where they may. I think it is time that America saw just what they were getting for their tax dollars.

LIBBY FOUND GUILTY!

Scooter Libby was found guilty on four of five counts of perjury and obstruction of justice stemming from the probe into the leak of the identity of a non covert CIA agent named Valerie Plame. Though many people had poor recollections or lied under oath (if that is what Libby’s poor memory equates to), Libby was the one who eventually took the fall as Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald continued to push for answers even though he had discovered the leak three days after he started his investigation. Ironically, that person was never charged.
Libby now faces jail time but just how much is in question. If convicted on all five counts he could have received 30 years though federal sentencing guidelines allow much shorter sentences.
If George Bush really wants to drive the left over the top he should pardon Libby. That would lead to calls for impeachment from the group that defended Clinton when he pardoned criminals for payment. By the way, how much jail time did Clinton serve for the exact same crime Libby committed?
