John Edwards’ Two Americas
Nov 17, 2006 Political
During the 2004 election John Kerry’s running mate, John Edwards, gave passionate talks about the “Two Americas.” Edwards, a millionaire ambulance chaser, talked about the America where some kids go to private schools (like his kids) and then there is public school for the rest of us. Edwards wanted people to believe that he was one of the people in the second America and that he wanted to get all of us into one, better America. The truth is, Edwards is in the elitist America he tried to use to divide the country. His passionate discussion showed how he is able to claim, in court, to have dead kids speak to him and actually have jurors believe him.
It looks like John is still content in living in the elite America while screwing the people in the rest of America. He also shows a great deal of hypocrisy at the same time. Edwards has been a vocal critic of Wal Mart. That is nothing new because almost all Democrats are critics of Wal Mart because the retail giant has not bowed down to the left’s might union thugs. While John Edwards was at a conference of union backed activists criticizing Wal Mart, one of his staffers was calling Wal Mart to obtain a Playstation 3 for the former Senator. From a Wal Mart press release:
Wal-Mart had noted in a news release Thursday that on the same day Edwards was criticizing the company in a conference call with union- backed activists, the volunteer staff member had asked a Raleigh, N.C., electronics department manager to obtain a PS3 for the ex- senator’s family.
From Wal-Mart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., company spokesman David Tovar said the person who called left a voicemail at the Raleigh store and identified himself as an Edwards staff member. When the manager returned the call, the staff member again identified himself as working for Edwards, and Wal-Mart said it confirmed that with Edwards’ office.
The retailer’s news release accused Edwards of not wanting to wait his turn.
“While the rest of America’s working families are waiting patiently in line, Senator Edwards wants to cut to the front,” the Wal-Mart statement said. Breitbart
Edwards says that he and his wife did not know that the staffer was doing this and that his wife feels terrible about this. It seems a bit strange to me that a staffer would be using Wal Mart knowing that the boss is critical of the company. It is also amazing that the staffer would use Edwards’ name to obtain the item. While I believe that Edwards is not above trying to use his status to get something (the other America) I do not think he is dumb enough to have a staffer use his name at a Wal Mart.
Interestingly, his staffer was too stupid to realize the ramifications of his actions. Regardless of what the reason, the fact that the staffer used Edward’s name to get something shows that this is probably a pattern and that Edwards likes being on the elite side of the Two Americas.
This man wants to run for the Presidency in 2008. Keep things like this in mind when you are sizing up the candidates.

My take on the recent news headlines.
As If AIDS is not already a problem in Africa:
The South African parliament on Tuesday approved new legislation recognizing gay marriages _ a first for a continent where homosexuality is largely taboo.
The National Assembly passed the Civil Union Bill, worked out after months of heated public discussion, by a majority of 230 to 41 votes despite criticism from both traditionalists and gay activists and warnings that it might be unconstitutional. There were three abstentions. The bill provides for the “voluntary union of two persons, which is solemnized [sodomized? ed.] and registered by either a marriage or civil union.” It does not specify whether they are heterosexual or homosexual partnerships. Breitbart
Felines roasting on an open fire:
A man pleaded guilty in the deaths of his ex-girlfriend’s four small kittens, which were tossed into a fire pit after the couple argued.
Robert Tomlin, 22, of Smithsburg was sentenced Monday to 1 1/2 years in jail for aggravated animal cruelty. Washington County Circuit Judge John McDowell suspended the sentence except for the 134 days Tomlin has served since his arrest. Breitbart
Marines refuse talking Jesus as toys for tots donation (no word on whether they will keep the exploding Mohammad):
A talking Jesus doll has been turned down by the Marine Reserves’ Toys for Tots program.
A suburban Los Angeles company offered to donate 4,000 of the foot- tall dolls, which quote Bible verses, for distribution to needy children this holiday season. The battery-powered Jesus is one of several dolls manufactured by one2believe, a division of the Valencia- based Beverly Hills Teddy Bear Co., based on Biblical figures. Breitbart
Vatican Cardinal says building a wall is inhuman then retreats behind the huge wall that protects Vatican City.
A senior Vatican cardinal on Tuesday condemned the building of walls between countries to keep out immigrants and said Washington’s plan to build a fence on the U.S.-Mexican border was part of an “inhuman program”. al-Reuters

Round Up of the News

Newly elected Democrats know they can not act like rabid liberals or they will not have a job in two years. It has been asserted by many that those who won did so as moderates and therefore can not vote on radical liberal ideas or they will be booted from the seats they hold in red states. This is confirmed by at least one incoming Dem:
“I see myself, hopefully, as a bridge builder, a consensus person,†said Harry Mitchell, 66, a longtime state senator and former mayor of Tempe, Ariz., who defeated Representative J. D. Hayworth, an emblematic member of the class of 1994. “I can’t be a rabid partisan Democrat and represent this district.†New York Times
Charlie Rangel insults Mississippi and its people and the New York Times carries his water. Rangel said that he was just so proud to be from New York that he can not imagine anyone wanting to live elsewhere. The Times asserted that “it was a remark uttered with regional pride” as though that is a fact. Not hard to believe because the Times is a liberal paper that would take what Dems say as Gospel. The fact is, Rangel insulted people who live much better lives than the folks of New York. They pay less money in taxes, they pay less for food, and other items needed to live. Most importantly, the folks of Mississippi do not have to worry about being mugged when walking down the street. Of course, Most of New York State is safe but the city gets the attention. Rangel’s response was:
Told of Representative Pickering’s comments, Mr. Rangel said he was sorry. “I certainly don’t mean to offend anyone,†he said in a statement issued Thursday. “I just love New York so much that I can’t understand why everyone wouldn’t want to live here.†Attempts to reach him by telephone and e-mail for further comment were unsuccessful. New York Times
I have already pointed out why people would not want to live in New York. I would also point out that the reason I would not want to live there is the same reason that I do not like living in Maryland and that is the state is infested with Liberals. They tax the hell out of us and they take everything they want. They generally make our lives miserable. Mr. Rangel, I would not want to live in the sewer basin you call New York, and for me it is not regional pride.
John McCain is looking at a run for the White House. Senator John McCain, a person many believe is at least partly responsible for the loss of the House and Senate last week, is looking at a run for the Presidency in 2008.
Sources close to McCain say on Wednesday in Phoenix, he and a half dozen of his top aides huddled and decided to proceed more formally with his quest for the White House.
McCain told ABC News that his team will continue to meet and “go through the process of decision making.” But, he added, “I certainly haven’t made any decision.”
A presidential exploratory committee is expected to be set up this month — perhaps as early as next week.
Forget it McCain. You will NOT have the support of the Republican Party because you are viewed as a RINO (Republican In Name Only) and we are not going to support you. You blew your chance with the gang of fourteen and all that crap over the nuclear option. If you think for one minute the Democrats will honor that agreement or will not exercise the nuclear option the first time Republicans filibuster you are senile. You screwed the Republican Party by trying to play nice with people who do not play nice. You will not get the nomination so save your money.
Bush Derangement Syndrome at the wax museum. Some idiot who suffers from BDS damaged the wax statue of President Bush at Madame Tussaud’s celebrity waxworks in Las Vegas.
Bush’s head suffered about $25,000 in damages when a Madame Tussaud’s visitor attacked it the day before last week’s elections.
“No one’s pushed one over before,” said Jack Taylor, spokesman for the tourist attraction. Review Journal
This person obviously has issues and should not be allowed out in public. I hope they find the guy and make him pay the 25 grand for the repairs.
Republicans failed to act when they had control and now judicial nominations are in trouble. The President had better hope that the lame duck Congress gets off its collective ass and does some things, including exercising the nuclear option, so that judicial nominees and John Bolton can be approved before the donks take over. If they do not then it is likely we will hove no confirmations and there will be more liberal activist judges like Ginsberg sitting on benches across the country. It is not hard to see how the 9th Circus has screwed up and how often they have done it. We will be screwed if the lame duck does not get well in the next 2 months and do something good for the country for a change. Source: NYT

Just a Swingin’; Saddam Will Be Hanged
Nov 5, 2006 Uncategorized
The verdict is in and Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by hanging (Access North GA). The defiant former leader of Iraq shook in the court as he screamed that God is great and that the country would live as its enemies died. Officials have been preparing for an outbreak of violence however there has been relatively little thus far.
The trial took 19 months and was interrupted a number of times with its bizarre twists and turns. Lawyers and judges have been murdered, Saddam has refused to appear in court and when he did he refused to keep his mouth shut. Now, the people of Iraq finally get justice for the murder of hundreds of thousands by this ruthless dictator.
There was celebratory gunfire after the verdict was announced but officials still believe that there might be more violence as a result of the verdict. There is also concern that the country might fall into a civil war after the verdict. This would be the same civil war that Democrats have told us Iraq has been in for months. In any event, it might actually be more peaceful than anyone though but then again, only time will tell.
I imagine the violence, if any is going to erupt, will be when they actually hang him.
Dang me, dang me! Someone take a rope and hang me.

This Guy is Lucky Someone Did Not Shoot Him
Nov 1, 2006 Uncategorized
A lawyer in Maine dressed up as Osama bin Laden and was out in traffic carrying fake dynamite and waving a plastic gun. This was, according to him, a protest to a change in tax code.
Lt. Todd Bernard said the police department received calls about a man wearing Middle Eastern garb and a bin Laden mask and carrying fake dynamite standing along an interstate highway. When police arrived, they saw Connolly holding a gun. al-Reuters
This guy is lucky someone did not shoot him while he was acting stupid. People could obviously tell he was wearing a mask but had no way of knowing if the dynamite and gun were real. Someone could have easily shot this guy and in my opinion, would have been well within his rights.
Someone tell this idiot lawyer that there are better ways to protest. The unfortunate thing is that guys like this become judges one day and give us stupid decisions.
