I Told You The UN Is Worthless
Apr 6, 2009 Political
The UN Security Council met for three hours today to discuss the missile launch by North Korea. The United States and Japan are pushing for more sanctions but several other nations urge restraint so as to not hamper the fragile six party talks. It would appear to me that the talks (the diplomacy Obama desires) are not working since North Korea has tested nukes and now launched a missile in violation of UN Resolution. Russia, China, Libya, Uganda and Vietnam are urging restraint. These nations are certainly paragons of virtue and restraint.
The Diplomats are in agreement on “expressing concern” over the launch.
What kind of crap is that? I imagine this is what it sounded like behind those closed doors:
Japan and the US: We want action against North Korea. They violated the resolution.
Diplomats: We are going to express concern.
Japan and the US: Expressing concern is ineffective. We expressed concern before the launch.
Diplomats: If they do not respond to concern we will resort to scorn.
Japan and the US: The North Koreans are laughing at you.
Diplomats: If they laugh we will express grave concern.
Japan and the US: Are you people out of your minds? The NORKS will thumb their noses at you.
Diplomats: Then they will force us to become indignant. That will show them and if that does not stop them we will escalate to anxiety, agitation, anxiousness, apprehension, strain, stress, tension; alarm, anguish, consternation, discomfort, discomposure, dismay, distress, disturbance, edginess, and uneasiness in that order until they submit.
Japan and the US: You people are worthless and we should strap you to the next missile.
Diplomats: OK, now you have made us mad. We wish to express concern at your attitude.
Japan and the US: We should have shot the missile down.
Diplomats: Then we would have sanctioned you.
And on and on it goes. What a worthless bunch of do nothings. I have stated that sanctions are not likely to mean much but one would think that these people could at least have a united front. Instead, they are playing games and allowing five nations that have their own poor records to dictate the direction of the proceedings.
The US and Japan should tell them to come up with some kind of sanction and real fast or there will be a test of another missile to see if a Tomahawk can be guided into Kim Jong-il’s bedroom.
That would be a missile test I would pay to see.

North Korea Tests Obama
Apr 6, 2009 Political
Joe Biden told us there would be a test within six months. I personally believe there will be many tests because Obama has a spine of jelly rather than steel. Every rogue nation will attempt something to see just how far they can go. Unfortunately, they will meet little resistance.
North Korea launched a rocket as part of a test. The country claims it was launching a satellite and they claimed success despite the fact that those tracking it said it fizzled out and made a splash in an ocean. North Korea, unaware of the modern world and its capabilities, expects people to believe its claim that the satellite is in space and broadcasting data and patriotic music.
Obama is upset (as is Japan because the missile went over that country). All the players are asking the UN for sanctions on North Korea. What exactly will that accomplish? North Korea is poor. They have nothing. At night they have no lights, they have little or no food and water and they live in absolute poverty. The country is already sanctioned and has been for quite some time. What more will sanctions do?
I have heard the opinions about shooting down the rocket. I was not opposed to that idea. I figured we could track it and if it looked like a threat we could shoot it down. As it stands right now, we know North Korea has a way to go because its rocket fizzled out. However, if the satellite had made it into orbit I would have been more inclined to shoot it down then. That would have really burst their bubble.
We should recover it and see what the payload actually was. As for sanctions, they will not work. The UN has no testicular fortitude and the people there will be lining up to find a way to get rich by ignoring the sanctions. Oil for food and all that. Besides, the UN is not interested in punishing bad countries. That organization is much happier when it goes after good countries and leaves the bad ones alone. How many times do we have to see them blame Israel for the attacks against her to realize that?
In any event, if this is the big test then I think it is not much of one. Iran will have nukes before long and then we will see how the sainted one responds. He will have to decide what to do with a nuclear Iran while he is removing nuclear weapons from our arsenal.

Around The Horn

Oh no, the North Koreans are on alert
Looks like the North Koreans have their Commie panties in a wad because the US and South Korea are going to be involved in joint military training exercises. These exercises have taken place in the past but now the NORKS are on high alert and worried about being attacked. Perhaps they are a little uneasy because the Navy indicated it was ready to shoot down the NORK missile (satellite) if it appeared threatening. Maybe this is the test Biden warned about…
The NORKS have shut off communications with the UN and the million or so members of the military are on high alert.
The Plan: The US and South Korea should find a way to extend the training exercise for a month or so. The North Koreans have no fuel for their planes and it is assumed the same is true for their land based vehicles. They are dirt poor and a month of spending on military alert could probably push them over the edge. We could put an end to them without firing a shot. [Breitbart]
Botox Airlines
After 9/11 the president decided that the Speaker of the House should use a military aircraft to travel from DC to the home district, if one was available. Nancy Pelosi has extended that to mean the US Air Force is her personal air taxi service. Pelosi requests a bigger plane with a few more luxuries. When one is not available she gets upset and evidently her aide in charge of booking them wants the Air Force to explain why the wicked witch of the west does not have a plane.
The key is the phrase “when available.” If one is not available then Pelosi does not get one. It is quite simple. But it is tough because she has the Air Force ferry her and her family all over the place.
She said she required a bigger plane so that she would not have to stop for fuel on the way home. I suggest a long range bomber. They will fly for a long time and they could put Pelosi’s seat right above the bomb bay doors…[Fox News]
Who is Arlen Specter trying to fool?
Senator Arlen Specter is worried about losing his seat in the next election. The fact that he is still in office is one of the things I hold against George Bush. Bush campaigned for him and helped him win when he should have been booted out. Specter is a RINO and sides with the Democrats rather than his own party. He was one of only 3 Republicans to vote for the TRILLION dollar stimulus bill. He needs to go.
He knows that his name is mud and he is starting early in his reelection bid. In an interview he chastised Michael Steele for apologizing to Rush Limbaugh and then claimed that he [Specter] was trying to lead the Republican party. He said that he was trying to lead from the middle where the American people want to be led from. Specter also took a shot at his likely opponent.
This man is a moron. Americans do not want to be led from the center. Conservatives want to be led by people who hold conservative values. This half baked retard has not figured out that the reason that Democrats won was because Republicans became too much like them. Some Republican voters figured if they were going to have liberal policies they might as well vote for liberals and others just stayed home.
We cannot win by trying to be like them. Perhaps Specter has not seen the light yet but Republicans rejected that idea.
Specter is NO leader. There is a saying that you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink it.
Specter couldn’t even lead the horse to the water.
The people of Pennsylvania need to get rid of this moron in the next election. [WILK]

Obama Failure Leads To Iranian Missile Launch
Mar 8, 2009 Political
Iranian media are reporting that Iran has test fired an air to surface missile that is designed to be shot from aircraft at naval vessels. I guess Iran believes that it would have aircraft left to shoot anything if it provokes confrontation with the US.
The test fire of the missile coupled with Obama’s capitulation to Russia regarding an anti missile defense system in Poland (for the purpose of defending against Iran) means that the Obama administration has failed in its diplomatic endeavor. While Obama was busy trying to build a Socialist US and giving cutesy buttons to Russia (are we not trying to keep them from PUSHING a button) he took his eyes off Iran and now that country is flexing its muscle, all with the backing of Russia.
I know that those on the left will not see it this way and somehow they will find a way to blame this on George Bush but that is not how they looked at the North Korean nuclear tests. The left said that the tests were a result of failed diplomacy on the part of the then president.
If that is the case then one can only conclude that missile tests by Iran and rebukes by Russia are a failure of Obama’s attempts at diplomacy.
The North Korean nuclear tests are discussed at The Friends Committee on National Legislation, The Talking Points Memo, and The Democratic Underground.
Remember, it was John Kerry who said that Bush had ignored the nuclear nightmare happening in North Korea but said the US should offer nuclear fuel to Iran in exchange for it abandoning its fissile material production complex.
So, Clinton gave the North Koreans the heavy water reactor, Kerry wanted to give Iran nuclear fuel, North Korea used the equipment to develop a nuke and test it, the Iranians enrich their own fuel and are now testing missiles that could be used to deliver nukes and to shoot at naval vessels and I am willing to bet that somehow this will all be Bush’s fault.
How long will it take these organizations, the Drive By Media and Obama supporters like Kerry to conclude that Obama has failed in his diplomatic efforts?
Don’t hold your breath…

Would This Be A Preemptive Strike?
Feb 26, 2009 Political
The left went nuts over our attack on Iraq claiming that we should not engage in preemptive strikes. They went along with it all until public sentiment started to change and then they all claimed they were tricked into voting for the war by a guy they all think is stupid. Iraq was not the first time we attacked a country that did not attack us. Japan attacked us in 1941 and we went to war with them and Germany. Germany did not attack us.
In any event, the left was dead set against the idea, at least when it was politically helpful to do so. But now they are in control and occupy the seat at the top. Things might be a little different now. The Navy is prepared to shoot down any missile that North Korea launches if Obama gives the go ahead.
The North Koreans claim they are going to send a satellite into space and the Navy says that if it is a satellite it will be left alone but if the missile is determined not to be one they will shoot it down if Obama gives the order.
This puts Obama in a tough spot. He and his ilk opposed the Bush Doctrine of preemptive strikes so if Obama decides to shoot down a missile he will basically be doing the same thing. In reality, unless that missile is heading for us or our interests we need to leave it alone. If we shoot it down then we are taking a preemptive posture.
Now I am not opposed to preemption and I think there would be no problem shooting down any missile launched just to assert our power and make the NOKs think before doing something stupid. If Obama and the Democrats had not opposed preemption I would not care what they do but since they did oppose it, they need to be held accountable for any act of preemption.
You can bet that if he shoots it down all the libtards who chastised Bush will be rationalizing The Evil Won’s actions. It will also show the value of missile defense, a program the Democrats want to scale down or eliminate.
It would not surprise me if Obama gives the order to shoot it down. Preemption was something Bush believed in.
And so far, Obama has kept a lot of Bush’s policies and practices in place.
