The Poor Pay More, Deservedly So
Jun 20, 2013 Commentary, Political
When Obama and his band of merry thieves were out pushing socialized medicine down our throats the supporters were elated at the prospect of free health care. Make those nasty rich people pay for my health care. Pay for my birth control as well because this is my right!
There is no such thing as a free lunch and, as Obama’s favorite Imam (ahem, Pastor), Jeremiah Wright, might say the chickens are coming home to roost.
It looks like the poor will be hit particularly hard by Obamacare. Yes ladies and gentlemen, the poor will pay more.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Excuse me, I had to laugh. They thought the evil rich would take it in the shorts while they received another government provided (read taxpayer provided) hand out.
It is becoming increasingly apparent that Obamacare is going to make health care unaffordable to a shockingly large number of poor people — many of them single and childless. This should come as no surprise, though: The burden of regulation falls all too often disproportionately on the relatively poor, especially the working poor — the very people this law was supposed to help. Obamacare, sadly, is merely the latest and most painful hit from the regulatory onslaught of Washington, diverting resources that could be better used to address larger and more immediate risks. Washington Times
I am sure there will be some mad rush to correct this. Politicians will scream bloody murder and there will be a push for some single payer system to take out the disparity. Why, it is just unfair to make the poor pay more.
Well hell, government caused it. They should have read the bill before they passed it but Pelosi said it had to be passed to see what was in it.
So now that it has passed we are seeing more and more things that are a nightmare.
The poor will be hard hit but that must happen. Pain is a great teacher and unless it hurts them a lot they will keep doing stupid things like supporting the redistribution of taxpayer money.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

A One Woman Death Panel
Jun 7, 2013 Political
I imagine HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius now wishes she had not said that someone lives and someone dies when discussing why she would not change or temporarily suspend the rules regarding transplants of adult lungs to children. The issue is about a child with weeks to live who needs a transplant. Her doctor says he thinks she can handle an adult lung but the rules do not allow it.
Children’s lungs are fairly rare with regard to transplant and the double edged sword is that children do not usually do well with adult lungs. The overarching issue is that her doctor (the one who should have the best idea) says she can handle it.
Sebelius has not budged from her position but will now have to allow it as a judge issued an order that she had to allow the child to be placed on the list for an adult lung.
There are pros and cons with this as some doctors think it is wrong to change the rules in court and others thinking the rule should be suspended.
I fall in the camp that believes the government should not be making rules regarding our direct health care (and few regarding ANY of our health care). I believe, and Obama professed to believe, that medical care decisions should be between the doctor and the patient. As he was ramming Obamacare down our throats he kept telling us that no bureaucrat would come between you and your doctor.
Well Sebelius is a bureaucrat and she is between the little girl and her doctor. Expect more of this as Obamacare is fully implemented. We will be hit with a double whammy. Obamacare will ration services (the death panels Palin talked about and Obama denies) as well as the IRS deciding if you get care based on your political beliefs.
Don’t say that can’t happen. A few months ago anyone who said that conservatives were being targeted by the IRS would have been called a conspiracy nut. What a difference a few months make.
Before some liberal tells me that the policy regarding transplants has been in place since before Obama took office, I already know that. I do not care when it was put in place or by whom. It is in the spotlight NOW because of Sarah Murnaghan and her need for a lung. It is big news now because the situation clearly demonstrates the Obamacare death panel argument as being true.
It is in the news because a government bureaucrat said that someone lives and someone dies when speaking about a child who is very ill.
I wonder if Sebelius would waive the rules if one of Obama’s daughters needed a lung…
I wish no harm on anyone’s child and the sentence using Obama’s daughters was illustrative only to provoke thought about the disparity in health care decisions by government bureaucrats.

Unions Sour On Obamacare
May 22, 2013 Political
The Democrat supporters in the labor unions supported Obamacare and helped Obama and his minions get it passed. The law is a disaster and costs a heck of a lot more than advertised. Nancy Pelosi said it had to be passed to see what was in it and now that it has passed what we see is horrible. It will not work, it will cost a lot of money, it will not cover everyone as advertised and it will cause the rest of us to pay a lot more for insurance (and that was not supposed to happen either).
It will also cost people who thought they were getting free health care.
Many unions and other Democrat supporters were granted waivers. Friends of Barry were able to get an exemption from Obamacare. But a lot of supporters did not get waivers and are now getting bitten by the law they supported.
[note]AARP did not like it and they were big supporters. They applied for, and got, a waiver. I recommend people ditch the AARP and join the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC).[/note]
It looks like a bunch of labor unions that supported Obamacare, support they do not regret because it helped Obama, are unhappy about how it affects them and their members. One labor union wants the law repealed (or completely overhauled) while others just want changes that will benefit them.
I say screw them all. They supported it and they must either live under the law or work hard to get it repealed. NO SPECIAL EXEMTIONS OR CHANGES. They do not deserve special treatment from the law they supported. They must live by it like all of us or get it completely repealed.
No more of this good enough for you but not for me stuff.
You unions don’t like the way this affects you? Well neither do we and we don’t want to be forced to comply while you get special treatment.
Time to completely repeal this monstrosity or bend over and grab your ankles.
Period.

Obamacare Needs More Money – SURPRISE!
May 2, 2013 Political
Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass it to see what was in it and Obama promised it would not add costs (I think he said it would bend the cost curve down) to the budget. Looks like Pelosi was right because we have been finding all kinds of bad things that no one knew about now that the monstrosity has been passed.
Obama was wrong when he said it would not increase costs. It is more likely he lied in order to create a new crisis that must be solved with more money because that is how progressives work. They create a problem, come up with a solution and when that solution causes more problems they develop solutions to the newly created problem. Those solutions involve more money and bigger government (and more problems). It is a never ending cycle.
Democrats are blaming Republicans for everything under the sun (even though the Democrats caused the problems) in hopes of retaking the House in 2014. But secretly Democrats are worried they might lose the Senate, in part, because of Obamacare.
The Democrats are vulnerable in 2014 because Senate seats in red states are up for reelection and many red state citizens are not happy with Obamacare. The costs continue to rise and every day a new item is found that people do not like.
Max Baucus (D- MT) has stated that Obamacare will be a train wreck if it is not implemented properly (and all indications are that it is not) and he has seen the writing on the wall. He has decided he will not run for reelection and the thinking is that his seat will turn Republican. Many other Democrats face similar circumstances and will be in trouble.
Republicans will hang Obamacare around their necks (remember, not one Republican voted for it).
Harry Reid has recently concluded that Baucus is correct and is saying that more money is needed to properly implement Obamacare. So there you have it, the monstrosity that is Obamacare needs MORE of our tax dollars in order to be implemented. The bill was touted as costing fewer than a trillion dollars (900 billion) but many people who looked at it stated it would end up costing in the neighborhood of 2.5 TRILLION dollars. Looks like we are approaching that level.
So much for bending that cost curve down.
Obama was wrong, or he lied. Either way we are stuck with paying more for a law that will not do what it claimed. It will not save us money, it still leaves millions uninsured, people can’t keep their doctors, there will be death panels, and illegals will be covered by the law.
Yes, it is a progressive monstrosity. Like Social Security, it is a progressive plan designed to enslave people to government and will end up costing more than claimed (by design).
It is good that Democrats could lose the Senate but that will only solve one problem. It will keep Obama in check for his last two years (but it will give him another entity to blame) but having Republicans in charge is no solution to our problems either. We have had that and we ended up with problems.
We need to have a complete overturn of Congress. The Senate can’t happen all at once because of the way they are voted on. We can solve part of the problem by repealing the Seventeenth Amendment and go back to how our founders wanted Senators installed, by appointment from the states (not the people). That will take a while and is not likely to happen at all given the Amendment process.
However, WE can vote them out every two years until we turn the upper chamber over.
We can also get rid of EVERY member of the House in one fell swoop.
All it takes is for the people to take back the country.
We can do it but we need to put country above party and ensure we hold ALL politicians accountable. Remember, they think they are better than you. As they discuss more money for Obamacare they are working on ways to exempt themselves and their staff members.
The country needs an enema to flush the toilet floaters out of DC.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Good Enough For You But Not For Congress
Apr 25, 2013 Political
Well, well, well, it looks like the highly paid members of Congress are in talks to exempt themselves and their staff from Obamacare. Yes, the must have health care law that was forced upon the American public is deemed too costly for members of Congress and their staff but the constituents, those who pay their salaries and for whom they work, are not so lucky.
This is another example of the good enough for you but not for me. Yes America, your employees in Congress think this is too costly for them to afford with their nearly 200,000 dollar a year salaries.
Those of us who make far less than that are stuck with it. The logic here seems to be that Congress members and their staff are unable to afford this and DC might lose the brain power (that ship has already sailed) so they need an exemption BUT it matters not how it affects the rest of us because our overlords have decided it is best for us.
Senator McConnell says he is not involved in the talks and believes all Americans should be exempt. Well Senator, you guys there have the ability to defund this monstrosity so have at it.
If the Democrats give you a hard time ask them why they too are on board with the exemption. Hell, they should be happy to rid themselves of this before the next election.
Be aware Decepticons in Congress, the public is watching. A huge majority did not want this to begin with and if you deem yourselves too important to be burdened by this we will unburden ourselves of your presence in Congress.
Keep in mind that the SCOTUS ruled that Obamacare was a tax. So not only did Obama raise taxes on EVERYONE, Congress is now trying to exempt itself from that tax.
Pay attention to Maryland for an idea of how the cost will affect the rest of us…
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
