The Media Restarts Its Obama Support

The Republicans ran on repealing Obamacare and won a historic election with over 60 seats changing hands in the House a a few seat pick ups in the Senate. Now that the last Congress has done its damage the new one is ready to take over. It is unlikely that they can repeal the law because the Senate is controlled by Democrats and if it makes it to Obama he will veto it.

But that should not stop Republicans from introducing legislation to repeal the law and if that does not work then they should defund it. If all else fails they can tack repeal on to the bill that would raise the debt ceiling. That issue will certainly come up and though I favor holding the debt ceiling, we could tack repeal on to the bill raising the debt ceiling and force Obama and the Democrats to either hold the debt ceiling or repeal a bad law.

An ABC staffer is already taking the lead in the media fight to help Obama by saying that if Republicans spend time on repeal it will not go well with the electorate.

The electorate voted them in based on repeal so it is obvious that the media are striking the first blow to help Obama.

Since when was anyone in the MSM concerned about the fate of Republicans?

Death Panels Return Under Cover Of Christmas

When the Democrats were ramming Obamacare through they hit a roadblock in the name of Sarah Palin who rightly pointed out that the end of life counseling mandated in the original plan amounted to death panels where the most vulnerable among us would be swayed to forgo needed medical care under pressure from health care providers receiving incentives to provide such counseling. The counseling would have been accomplished every five years and would pressure those in poor health to die peacefully.

Ousted Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson of Florida once called the Republican health care plan; if you get sick, die quickly.

The reality is that the Democrat plan was designed to accomplish this task.

But public uproar forced the Democrats to remove the end of life provision from Obamacare and then the bill was rammed through. Unfortunately, the law allows the people in charge to make rules governing Obamacare and Medicare chief Dr. Donald Berwick (Dr. Death) has released a new rule implementing the end of life or death panel counseling. The new rule will require end of life counseling every year instead of the five in the original bill.

The new rule was released on Christmas Day and was reported by The New York Times.

While America was busy celebrating the birth of Christ Dr. Death released rules that would compel health care providers to coerce the weakest among us into submitting to death. This, as Palin once noted, amounts to death panels.

The Democrats are happy this took place because they wanted it from the beginning but were taken aback by the uproar. So, as with many things Democrats do, they sneaked it in in a covert fashion. As the Times article points out:

Congressional supporters of the new policy, though pleased, have kept quiet. They fear provoking another furor like the one in 2009 when Republicans seized on the idea of end-of-life counseling to argue that the Democrats’ bill would allow the government to cut off care for the critically ill. The American Spectator

What they are saying here, and as the Spectator points out (the Times link requires registration), Sarah Palin was absolutely correct. They smeared her for making such claims and then removed the portion of the legislation to which she referred and then they put it back in.

Palin is often slammed as not being very bright and of a lesser class than those elites who supposedly lead us but Sarah Palin is an astute observer who was absolutely correct. She pointed out what the Obama Regime was doing and forced them to remove the death panel provision. Now that they have secreted it back, and with more stringent requirements, (coupled with the desire to keep things quiet) Sarah Palin has been vindicated.

The Obama regime specifically, and the Democrats in general, have no concern for human life. The so called party of the people cherish abortions and now look to compel the weakest among us to take decisions that are not in their best interest.

I think that the regime will see a lot of John Q types if people are forced to take decisions contrary to their best interests.

I imagine doctors might feel pressure to force people into end of life decisions especially since they will be paid to do so (and required to have the discussion). I wonder how many doctors will happily comply if their safety is placed in jeopardy by people not too happy with the whole death panel scheme?

I don’t think anyone argues that patients and their physicians should not engage in these discussions when warranted. But compelling physicians to have them and paying them to do so in an effort to force people to skip medical care is evil and will cause an upheaval that will not be pretty.

All in the name of saving a dollar. Keep in mind, those making the rules will get all the care they want no matter what.

Obamacare and the people running it are pure evil.

And we see this daily as items in Obamacare begin to infect our health care system.

Not Scared Of One Guy With A Laptop

Robert Gibbs today stated that the administration is not scared of one guy with a laptop. He was referring to Julian Assange, the guy from Wikileaks who has released hundreds of thousands of documents that were stolen from the US government. The release of the documents has done damage to this country and our foreign relations and it has put lives in danger. Even though this is true, it is not Assange and his computer we should have trepidation about.

Private Bradley Manning of the United States Army is the guy with the computer who did the damage. For some unknown reason this guy had access to classified documents and he stole them and sent them to Assange.

Manning was a worker in the US government and he did this. What does this say about the ability of our government to secure private information? If the nation’s classified documents cannot be secured, what assurance do we have that any other information is secure?

Manning is the one that should worry Gibbs and the administration. At a time they are working to overturn Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell a homosexual soldier who was upset and confused leaked classified documents.

Manning is not, however, the person with a computer we should be afraid of.

The person who should concern us is the one who has access to our medical information under Obamacare. There will be many multiples of the number of documents released stored in the electronic medical records. Not only will people with computers have access to it, they could easily release quite a bit of the information. Not only that, a person like Manning in any other department of the government could gain access.

And, as the leaked documents show, so could China. What a great way to steal identities.

Regardless of what any person in government tells you (and we now have confirmation that they lie) they cannot secure your information. This has been proven three times this year, each time Assange leaked information. The government knows it cannot secure its information so much so that the State Department removed its computer files from the government’s network. They did this because they cannot keep them secured.

So what makes anyone think that medical records will be safe? How many identities will be stolen because the government was unable to keep our private information safe?

No, the administration is not scared of Assange. It is almost like they want him to release the documents (how else do you explain the inaction after the initial releases). The Administration does not worry about one guy with a computer.

But you should because there will be lots and lots of people who will have access to medical records. It would only take one to compromise the system.

If this episode does not remove any trust you might have had in the ability of our government to keep your information safe (if you were doltish enough to actually think such foolishness) then you are hopeless.

SEIU To Drop Coverage; Thanks Obamacare

New York members of 1199SEIU, the union for health care workers, can thank Obamacare and their union for the bombshell that was dropped on them. 1199 will no longer cover children as part of its health care coverage. The move comes as the cost of insuring children increases and is exacerbated by the requirements of Obamacare.

“In addition, new federal health-care reform legislation requires plans with dependent coverage to expand that coverage up to age 26,” Behroozi wrote in a letter to members Oct. 22. “Our limited resources are already stretched as far as possible, and meeting this new requirement would be financially impossible.” WSJ

The union fought hard FOR Obamacare and now is ensnared in the ugly realization that it will cost more money, money that the union cannot afford and a condition contrary to the claims that Obamacare would be less expensive.

While the union refuses to do the right thing by its members it is expecting the state to “do the right thing.”

“We hope the state of New York will do the right thing and provide the funding necessary for this most vulnerable population of direct caregivers,” the union said in a statement.

Of course, expect taxpayers to pick up the tab for the bill which is what the unions do all the time.

How about SEIU do the right thing and pay for the increases. After all, it was the actions of SEIU (and other unions) that helped usher in Obamacare.

You made your bed, now lie in it.

Obamacare Waivers Are Stacking Up

Looks like the health care takeover that was supposed to be so great is not good enough for the 111 entities that have applied for and received waivers. This means that they don’t have to follow some aspect of the law. Why is it that this is being done?

Could it be that the law is a boondoggle that was written by special interests, not read, and rushed through? Could it be the law is actually NO GOOD?

The bill is full of stuff that in no way relates to health care and it is full of stuff that most companies cannot afford to follow.

It is also full of stuff that will cost trillions of dollars.

Yeah, this law, like the people who pushed it, is full of stuff…

The list of waivers was hidden here.
