Now Liberals Are Worried About Sexism
Sep 25, 2008 Political
Sarah Palin met with the newly elected President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, who commented that Palin is “gorgeous” and then he commented “Now I know why the whole of America is crazy about you.”
I am sure that was meant to be a compliment but it could be taken as “you have nothing more to you than beauty.” Given how different cultures view things I am sure he meant it as a compliment and intended nothing sexist by it.
Liberals, on the other hand, are commenting at CNN (where the story is posted) and they are up in arms. How sexist of this guy, they exclaim. This is the same group of people who ignored the sexism of Barry Obama and his campaign with regard to Hillary Clinton and who are helping with sexist remarks directed at Palin.
According to the kind of people who are shocked at Zardari’s remark, Palin should be home taking care of her kids, is a bad mother for giving birth to a child with Trisomy 21, and wasn’t a good mother which is why her teen aged daughter is pregnant.
Liberals will go to any length to win and the attacks on Palin will get much worse prior to the election. It is just beyond comprehension to these folks that a conservative woman is living the kind of life that the feminists have told women they can live. The problem is, a woman is not a true woman, to the feminists, unless she has murdered a child in utero and protested for abortion rights.
To the liberals, and particularly the feminists, a woman can be an independent, strong, motivated, capable human but only if she lives her life in accordance with their definition of feminism. Sarah Palin is everything they said a woman can be and she accomplished it without following the rules set forth in the Gloria Steinem manifesto.
Where were all the liberals and their concerns when the harpies on The View told Obama that they all thought he was sexy? Do they have a double standard? Say it isn’t so…
As an aside, Campbell Brown of CNN went on a rant stating that the sexist treatment of Palin must end. She was referring to the sexist treatment by the McCain campaign. Brown bases her assertion on the refusal of the campaign to allow reporters in to cover the meetings Palin had with world leaders. The media and its liberal toadies believe McCain is trying to hide her to keep her from being seen as having no experience. I fail to see how meetings that are filled with pleasantries could show any inexperience but then again, the Obama media can make anything up.
My question is, where was Campbell Brown (and the rest of the whiny media for that matter) when Barack Obama went on his world tour and met with leaders behind closed doors? Obama did not allow the press in when he was in meetings with the leaders of the nations he visited. His media wing made no complaints about that. I don’t recall Brown railing about Obama not getting the respect he deserves.
Perhaps that is because the reporters following him around like wide eyed school girls were too busy getting tingles down their legs. What say you Campbell? Why no rant about that?
Maybe the liberals are worried that Palin will be well received by leaders of the world…

The Palin Factor
Sep 22, 2008 Political
Governor Sarah Palin has energized the Republican base and John McCain is bringing in the Independents. Despite what some say the Democrats are running scared. Folks in California, which should easily go to Obama, are organizing and working in nearby swing states in order to swing the vote in the Republican’s direction. According to the San Francisco Chronicle:
Post-convention swing state polls are tipping toward Sen. John McCain, the TV pundits are waxing about “The Palin Factor,” and Sen. Barack Obama’s California supporters are freaking out about a race Democrats were uncommonly confident about only a month ago.
~snip~
So Californians seeking to get involved in either campaign have options: pick up the phone, get on a plane, or hop in a car and contact a voter in a swing state that’s still in play. Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado are the closest swing states. Most of the Great Lakes states are still up for grabs, and Florida always beckons.
While it is true that any post convention bounce has been erased, a statement true for each campaign, this is a year in which Democrats were expected to roll to victory. Barack Obama made a few tactical errors and has been unable to completely regroup. He failed to pick Clinton as his running mate, a move that would have guaranteed him the White House, and he was taken by surprise by the Palin selection which caused him to respond very negatively. Obama’s most important selection to date was for VP and he blew that. Then he compounded things by insulting Governor Palin and his surrogates have unleashed a lot of trash that has failed to get them anywhere. In fact, there are many who were turned off by the attacks, especially the ones on her kids. The hacking of her email account also brought negative attention especially since Obama had just told his followers to “get in their faces.”
Several of the pundits have said the Palin fervor will wear off and the race will tighten or move in Obama’s favor. While national polls show Obama with a small lead the electoral college is extremely tight with a number of surprise states up for grabs. It is possible that we will have another election where the person with the highest number of votes will lose. Thank goodness the Founders had the sense to make the election 50 individual elections.
Has the Palin influence worn off? Was she a flash in the pan or does she have appeal? While Barack Obama was in Florida telling lies to senior citizens about Social Security Sarah Palin was there to discuss the issues. She drew a crowd of 60,000 people who were interested in what she had to say. So, if the Palin influence is wearing off, then why is she drawing such large crowds? Florida was considered to be very much in play but I have read Obama might scale back there if McCain increases his lead so that money can be concentrated in other battleground states. Another Obama error might have been saying no to federal funds. He might not raise the money needed to compete so he will have to concentrate in states where he has the best chances to win.
I think the next few weeks will be pretty exciting. I am looking forward to the debates. I want to see the open style for the presidential candidates but I am very interested in the VP debates. I think if Palin holds her own with Biden or wins then the balance of power will swing. Of course, Palin is at a disadvantage because she has to fight Biden and the media wing of the Obama campaign. But she is tough enough.
Sarah Palin is here to stay and she will have a lot of influence on this election. The rumors are that Biden will get some previously undisclosed illness and be replaced with Hillary. That would make things interesting but it would lead to questions about Obama’s leadership abilities. There are not many chances for do-overs in the White House.
Get the popcorn, this is going to be fun.

No Secret Who The Brits Want As US President
Sep 21, 2008 Political
It is no secret who the politicians in the UK want to be the next American President. Despite their claim of having no preference or remaining neutral their actions and their statements about the race speak much louder than words. Gordon Brown recently gave an endorsement of Barack Obama but then nuanced his words so as to appear neutral. Recent polls show that many of the major countries around the world (including all the Muslim ones) want Obama to win. Now Communities Secretary Hazel Blears of the UK has chimed in and called Sarah Palin Horrendous. This is so because Palin appeals to people who are disillusioned with “regular politics.”
By regular politics I assume she means the politics where elected officials line their pockets with money from investment companies and other Wall Street entities, ignore the criminal activity occurring, get their friends jobs in those companies so they get rich and then stand around pointing fingers at each other while whole system collapses and is paid for by taxpayers.
Or maybe Blears means politics where those elected in the UK to uphold English law succumb to demands of an ever growing Muslim population and allow Sharia Law (a religious law) to be practiced in the country. Maybe she means standing by and watching as your country rapidly dissolves into an Islamic state while those who oppose Islam or support the US are bombed.
In any event, it is not for Blears, or the rest of the world, to decide. This decision belongs to Americans and Americans alone and it does not matter what the rest of the world thinks about who we elect. Blears, Brown and the rest of these people should concern themselves with the rapid decline of their countries and let us worry about our elections.
I think the world can see by now what being soft on the radical Islamic terrorists does and Pakistan’s inability to control it has played out this weekend as the death toll keeps rising in the hotel bombing. Maybe the rest of the world wants a President Obama begging negotiating with the thugs who cause these problems but I prefer someone who will do more than just scream racism when confronted with adversity.
Pretty soon when Blears, Brown, and every other person in the UK is kneeling to Mecca five times a day they can beg President McCain and Vice President Palin for help. If we don’t view the people asking as horrendous, we might actually help.
Given the horrendous invasion of privacy in the UK, the horrendous dental care, the horrendous medical care, the horrendous cost of everything and the horrendous appeasement of terrorists, I would think Blears would concern herself with those issues and not a person who lives up to our Founder’s wishes.
A citizen who is like the rest of us and serves the people. If we could just replace ALL the current politicians with “regular” Americans, this country would run a lot better.

Political Pressure To Disinvite Palin Succeeds
Sep 20, 2008 Political
Hillary Clinton was invited to speak at a stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons rally but backed out when she learned that Sarah Palin was also an invited speaker. Was Hillary upset that she would have to share the spotlight, was she worried about how it would affect Obama, was she concerned Palin would be better received or give a better speech or was she afraid?
No matter what the reason, Hillary played partisan politics on an issue that should unite and not divide. The organizers tried to get Joe Biden but he was unable to attend so, under pressure from external sources, the organizers “disinvited” (this is not a word) Palin.
We collected over 20,000 signatures in 24 hours asking Iran Unity rally organizer Malcolm Hoenlein to take Sarah Palin off the schedule for Monday’s rally, and he caved to our pressure on Thursday afternoon citing the fact that the rally had become too partisan.
This is the right decision. A unity rally to express communal solidarity is no place for partisan politics. And to give such prominence to Sarah Palin alone would have spoken neither to, nor for, the American Jewish community. J Street
There was no petition or concern about the rally becoming partisan when it was believed that Clinton was the only invited political speaker. Once she withdrew the issue suddenly became partisan and Palin had to go. I wonder if this group would have felt it was the right decision had Hillary been the lone speaker and subsequently petitioned and “disinvited.”
No matter. Palin will speak at a rally sponsored by Women United. The Israeli Project has withdrawn from the original event over the removal of Palin. The following is a statement from Morton A. Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America:
“The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) strongly opposes the disinvitation of Vice-Presidential candidate Governor Sarah Palin to be one of many speakers at a “stop Iran from gaining nuclear weapons rally.” This rally will also protest the presence of Iran’s president Ahmadinejad at the United Nations on Monday, September 22. This is an anti-Iran rally, not a partisan political rally, as Democratic Senator Hilary Clinton was invited as was vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden and later Democratic Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida. Clinton withdrew and Biden apparently couldn’t attend.
“Under tremendous pressure from Jewish Democrats and liberal Jewish groups, Palin’s invitation was withdrawn with a decision made not to include any politicians. Why are we excluding political leaders who have the real power to act on this critical issue? The ZOA believes this was a serious mistake.
“This was not a political rally for any party or individual. All Democrats and Republicans are united against Ahmadinejad developing nuclear weapons which he indicated he would use “to wipe Israel and America off the map.” We thought that one of the themes of Democrats this year was “promoting unity” and “bringing people together.” Well, here was an opportunity to do just that on an issue we can all support and certain groups and interests have caused us to fail. The ZOA is so disappointed by this unnecessary and harmful outcome.
“At this rally, there would be no implied or explicit endorsement of any candidate or party, only a unified condemnation of Ahmadinejad. No one was going to speak about politics, only about loving America and Israel, and fighting Iran, and standing up to evil.
“The ZOA deeply regrets that certain Jewish groups and individuals believed the inadvertent benefit that would accrue to Sarah Palin outweighed the enormous benefit that Israel and the United States would receive when a Vice-Presidential candidate and others give visibility and power to this life and death issue.
“It seems for these people politics and their personal political agenda were more important than Israel and America’s security. This wrong-headed action of cancelling the appearance of major political leaders hurt Israel and the United States. Ahmadinejad must be delighted that those who oppose his policies are so divided they can’t even stand on the same stage to condemn him. I assure you, if we were holding a rally to condemn an internationally-known racist, anti-Black leader, no one would dare disinvite a speaker and no speaker would dare back out.
“The ZOA strongly urges that Sarah Palin be reinvited along with any other key Democratic or Republican leaders.
“Otherwise, this will become a day of shame and humiliation for the Jewish people instead of a day of Jewish pride, strength, courage, and will. On this day, we should have put aside all other political interests and together fight against this existential threat against Israel and major threat to the United States and the entire western world.” Atlas Shrugs
There is no doubt that the president of Iran desires the elimination of Israel and there is no doubt his country is working on obtaining the means to do just that. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be in New York and will be hosted by Obama’s campaign finance committee’s chairwoman.
