Maryland Governor Awakens from Coma, has Epiphany

Maryland’s Governor, Martin O’Malley, has awakened from a coma this week and has discovered information that was widely known for the last four years. O’Malley has just now discovered that millions of dollars leave the state of Maryland and go to Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia. He has just realized that slot machines in those states are drawing huge crowds from Maryland, crowds that are more than happy to spend their money in places that are more accommodating to their needs. It would appear as if he has also just discovered that Maryland’s horse racing industry is in serious financial trouble and that slots at race tracks might help. He is only about four and a half years too late.

When O’Malley was the mayor of Baltimore, a city that is no better off because of his tenure (despite his claims to the contrary), he was opposed to slot machines. He said that slots were a morally bankrupt method of obtaining revenue to pay the bills. Of course, his opposition came when Republican Governor Robert Ehrlich wanted those slot machines. Some of O’Malley’s fellow Democrats in Annapolis were also opposed to slot machines and, as is true with all Democrats, preferred to raise taxes in order to provide satiety for their spending appetites.

The State of Maryland has a 1.5 billion dollar budget deficit. This is the fault of the Democrats in this state and only an idiot believes otherwise. The Democrats have held power here for over forty years and Ehrlich was only the third or fourth Republican Governor in the state’s history. Previous governors and their Democratic lap dogs in Annapolis have continued to spend unfettered and they have imposed spending requirements without securing appropriate funding sources. They refuse to cut government growth and make only token budget cuts because to them the only way to solve problems is to remove money from the people who actually work to earn it.

For four years Governor Ehrlich tried to get slot machines to raise revenue for the horse racing industry and to increase cash flow into the state coffers. For four years he met opposition from people who allowed their political agendas to get in the way of functioning professionally and honestly. These very same politicians seem to have had a change of heart and will now grant O’Malley the slot machines. They will give him the win Ehrlich could not obtain. The only thing that has changed in this time is that the deficit has increased. Now, there are those still opposed but they are willing to compromise, something they tell us politicians must be willing to do. Too bad these dimwits were not willing to compromise when a Republican was in the driver’s seat. If they had, we would be on our way to recovery.

My personal opinion is that I do not care about slot machines one way or another. I gamble occasionally but have never been to the other states to gamble. I believe that having the machines is a good way to increase revenue and that if the people want them then we should get them. I do not believe the issue should be used as a political weapon while the state falls deeper into the abyss. I also find it hard to take people opposed to slots seriously when they say that gaming is not the way to make money and that gambling affects poor people who spend their money on the games of chance rather than on their bills.

I have a hard time because the state of Maryland runs a lottery. It is not just a one pick a day small time operation either. It started as one, where a three digit number was drawn every evening. This quickly morphed into three and four digit drawings two times a day, mega millions, match 5, the lotto, as well as a number of other games and special events. They even have a zillion varieties of scratch off lotteries. All these games are played by the people who the Democrats worry about so what difference will slots make? It is not like these things are out of the control of government because the state is solely responsible for the lottery and for deciding how many games are designed and introduced.

The state runs the lottery and it has race tracks where on any given day during the racing season, people can be found spending money betting on horses. The state has not shut down that industry and they have not shut down the lottery and yet slot machines give them a moral dilemma? Give me a break.

I predicted after the election that we would get slots but I also predicted we would get tax increases in every venue imaginable. The Speaker wants tax increases and the governor, in addition to wanting to raise taxes, (after his epiphany) wants slots. The compromise of which they speak is that we will get both. O’Malley is on his tour of the state touting all the taxes he is going to raise. Gas, cigarettes, income, sales, services, property (they say they will lower the property tax rate but we all know that means they will increase our assessments so we will pay more), you name it and he is going to tax it. If he could figure out how to measure it, he would tax the air we breathe.

I will not be a party to these games and have no intention of willingly forking over more money. I had always said that I would not go to other states just to play slots but that if we had them here I would play every once in a while. I now vow that I will never play slots in this state and I ask others to do the same. Go to the other states and support them because Maryland does not deserve your support. I recommend that you visit Delaware to play the slots because they have no sales tax. While you are there you might as well buy the things you need and avoid the Maryland taxes at the same time. You folks who smoke and happen to live near Virginia, you might want to go there because the taxes on cigarettes there will be about $1.70 ($17.00 a carton) lower than Maryland. Folks should also consider Internet purchases (that is until MD finds a way to tax that). I also recommend that anyone who can, move to another state. I cannot move just yet but I want out of this mad house so I will stay open to other opportunities.

The state of Maryland is in a terrible state because of the Democrats who have run it for decades. It has been run into the ground and now they have begun digging. The poor school system has produced generations of people who are not bright enough to recognize this so they keep voting for the same idiots who got us in this mess. As I have been saying, we need to vote all of these poor performers out of office and replace them with competent people who actually have experience in the real world.

It is time for a revolution in this state. It is time to rid ourselves of the vermin that infests Annapolis and it is time for us to take charge of our future because left in the hands of these idiots, there will be no brighter days ahead.

As an aside, I am kind of glad that the taxes will screw the poor and working class folks very greatly and that it will eat the hell out of the income of the wealthy. I want them to feel every ounce of pain that the tax increases cause and I want them to feel it each and every day. They voted for this idiot to run the state and I want their choice to hurt them as much as possible. I want them to pay all these increases only to see their money given to ILLEGALS for college. I want them to be so devastated by these taxes that if carpet costs 10 cents a square yard they could not afford to upholster a gnat’s ass. Pain is a great teacher and until these people start feeling a lot of pain for their choices they will continue to make bad ones. Perhaps if they are affected enough they will finally get the message.

For those who believe this idiot governor when he says that the taxes will only affect the rich. He is lying through his teeth. Remember, he was going to stop the electric rate hike if you would only vote for him. How did that work out, by the way? Oh yeah, 75% increase. Add that to your new taxes and this guy is costing you a lot of money.

Some people never learn.

Ahmadinejad an Insulted Democratic Mouthpiece

Iranian President Ahmadinejad was invited to speak at Columbia University because the folks there believe that it is good to get differing points of view unless those views are conservative. They invited this nut from Iran to speak and he got a bit more than he was counting on when he was introduced. Columbia University President Lee Bollinger was aggressive and confrontational and Ahmadinejad did not like it. He even mentioned how in his country the speaker is not attacked before the speech. They are real tolerant people over there. I believe he mentioned how well homosexuality is tolerated in his sand pit of a country.

The Iranians are all upset because their nut job leader was insulted at CU. They told everyone there would be tough questions but no one counted on a tough introduction. The interesting thing is that while the Iranians are condemning the actions from abroad, the left is condemning them here. Of course, these are probably the same people who applauded when he spoke about the poor Palestinians or when he questioned the official version of 9/11. As he did on 60 Minutes, he spewed Democratic talking points and people applauded, which is their right.

However, I do not want to hear about how the sensitivities of some sand monkey in a suit were hurt or how he was insulted. In his country they do not insult? How about the insult he perpetrated by asking to visit the 9/11 site? He was astonished that people would be upset by this because in his mind he is a peace loving Muslims who would not hurt anyone. I throw a BS flag on his sorry rear.

He has called for the elimination if Israel, refuses to recognize them as a legitimate country, says the Holocaust did not happen, at least not as it has been reported, and he is providing weapons to countries that attack Israel as well as the sand fleas who are attacking our troops. He is a worthless POS and we should have never let him in this country and his presence is all the more reason we need to move the UN someplace else where the standard of living is much more in tune with the representatives of the countries who work there. We need to move them to a third world country where they use outdoor bathrooms and have little in the way of luxury items. They need to go so we never have to admit a scum sucking maggot like Ahmadinejad in our country again.

Another tyrant I am tired of is Hugo Chavez. He defended his buddy Ahmadinejad and said the CU incident

“I congratulate him, in the name of the Venezuelan people, before a new aggression of the U.S. empire,” Chavez said, adding that it seemed Ahmadinejad was the subject of “an ambush.” Breitbart

This is the same guy who was so diplomatic that he called President Bush Satan in that very UN building that we need to get rid of. We need to evict everyone of those third world maggots and knock the building down and use the bricks to build a wall on our southern border. Removing the UN from our country would solve a great deal of problems that people in New York have to deal with every day.

Ahmadinejad uses every chance he gets to disrespect our President. He is an ape who probably has sex with pigs and he does not deserve to breathe. He came to our turf spewing his lies and he was trashed for it. Screw him and the camel he rode in on.

The Congress voted today to denounce Ahmadinejad. This is surprising because he said nothing more than they have been saying for years. I guess when the second coming of Hitler is in the house, they need to pretend to be tough on terror.

The Clinton Mafia

About two weeks after the Sopranos aired its last episode, Bill and Hillary Clinton made a commercial that was a spoof of that final scene of the series. It is interesting that the Clintons would select a scene from a show about a mafia family because it would appear as if the Clintons live mobster’s lives.

George Bush said if you are not with us you are against us and the left mocked that cowboy attitude but the reality is, with the Clintons you are either with them or against them. Very few people cross the Clintons and continue to have success. Bill and Hillary and their people make it absolutely clear that lack of loyalty will be looked upon with disfavor, especially if they get back into the White House. Hillary in particular, is an authoritarian who demands absolute loyalty. If she finds that a person is disloyal she will chew that person up and spit him out and not think twice. Think about how many stories discuss people who would not speak for fear of reprisal. The Clintons are mobsters.

This is also true when it comes to the media, a venue the Clintons practically own. Bill has made friends with a lot of people and every moonbat in the world wants to be an FOB (friend of Bill). They bend over backwards to appease the Clintons and to ensure that they get good press. Often, items are ignored so as not to bring discredit or unfavorable press on the Hildebeast. On those occasions where the media outlet is not cooperating or loses its way, the Clintons are there ready to strong arm them into submission.

Take the latest information that the Clintons squashed a story in GQ that was unfavorable to Hillary. The magazine was told to drop the story or there would be no access to Bill. Bang, zoom, there is no story. Some gutless, spineless, coward at GQ decided that it was better to appease the Clintons than to publish the story. It is not a matter of truthfulness because the story had to be true. If it were not, the Clintons would not have wasted time on it. They can lie away the marginal stories or explain away the lies with ease. The problems arise when they are forced to confront the truth. If the truth was Hillary’s ass she could not find it with her hands in her back pockets.

There are many people who are afraid of the Clintons, especially the Hiledbeast because she is vicious and she will rip people apart. I do not particularly care about Hillary. I personally do not know why people are afraid of her or cower from her. She might break bad once but after she was put in her place further outbursts would come at the risk of having her neck snapped off her body. I don’t play those games which might explain why I am a Conservative, not some cowering liberal who is afraid of a beastly woman.

Those who claim that President Bush manipulates the media are the same kind who would give Hillary a pass on her abuse of the media. Just keep this in mind when you are deciding who you should vote for. We don’t need a president who suffers from penis envy or who browbeats people to get what she wants. Leadership is the ability to influence people to give their willing participation in achieving a goal. If you have to scare people to get things done you are not a leader.

Is Giuliani a One Trick Pony?

Rudy Giuliani has a huge following across the country as he works to gain the Republican nomination for the presidency of the United States. Giuliani is running as a Republican and touts his “conservative” views but his major claim for qualification is how he handled the events of 9/11. He uses the events of 9/11 as his credentials to lead America in the war on terror and his views are conservative in that light. However, Giuliani has other views and when we examine the total package one can only draw the conclusion that he is a RINO because he has mostly liberal views. Perhaps this is why he polls so well as liberals are looking for a candidate that well suits their beliefs without forcing them to vote for the hugely polarizing Hillary Rodham.

Giuliani’s credentials with regard to 9/11 are a mixed bag with people saying he responded brilliantly and others saying he was not that great, especially in the aftermath. However one views him with regard to 9/11, that day and its events are not his only defining moment and his lifetime of service paints a different picture than the man who handled 9/11.

Giuliani is pro abortion and this is certainly not a conservative view. He made New York City into a sanctuary city and allowed millions of ILLEGALS to flock there without fear of legal action. One can argue (and he has) that his motives were pure and that they were designed to bring the ILLEGALS out of the shadows and take away their fear of reporting crimes but this position is a liberal one and not one that belongs on a conservative’s resume. The idea that the rule of law should be ignored for political expediency is preposterous. What percentage of the ILLEGALS in New York, or any sanctuary city, actually come out of the shadows or report crime because they are “safe” and how does that compare to the number that live lives unobstructed by silly things like the law but who never come out of the shadows or report crimes?

One of the big items on the Giuliani check list is his stance on the Second Amendment. Rudy has had a transformation with regard to this very important piece of our Constitution. Rudy was all for gun control when he was the mayor of New York City and he pursued gun manufacturers for the crimes that criminals committed with guns. Perhaps those very criminals looked at New York as a sanctuary city for them as well. In any event, the criminals are the problems and the guns are just the tools that they used to commit their crimes. Once has to wonder how many of the ILLEGALS he invited to his city committed the very crimes he wanted to stop.

Rudy Giuliani is not a fan of the Second Amendment and the individual right to keep and bear arms. He made a career out of going after guns and legal gun owners (by taking away their rights) while opening his city to law breakers. These opposing positions are interesting indeed and begs the question; “Was he really tough on crime?” Rudy’s appearance before the NRA certainly could not have allayed any of the fears gun owners have about his past position and his supposed transformation, especially when he did not know the words to the Second Amendment. It would appear as if Rudy has changed his position as a matter of political expediency, despite his claims that he changed his mind after 9/11:

“Sept. 11 casts somewhat of a different light on Second Amendment rights; it maybe highlights the necessity for them more.” My Way News

It seems that a leader would know what the Second Amendment means and that a 9/11 would not be necessary to bring enlightenment with regard to that part of the Constitution. He expects that conservatives and those who believe in the individual right to keep and bear arms, as outlined in the Constitution, will accept his transformation and new found understanding as some sort of epiphany. I wonder how he would expect people to react if he determined, after 9/11, that the press was too free and that the Constitution did not intend for them to have such freedom in light of their reporting of the incident? How would people react if he decided that there really were no Fourth Amendment rights because he needed to be able to break down doors without probable cause? They would view his new outlook as wrong and while he has suddenly gotten the Second Amendment correct, one needs to ask if he really believes this or if he is saying it as a matter of political expediency.

The Bill of Rights clearly enumerates the rights that are endowed upon us by our Creator and those rights cannot be removed by government. Unlike free health care or welfare, the right to keep and bear arms is clearly expressed by the document and this right, as well as the others, are not subject to the whims of politicians, regardless of party affiliation. If Giuliani is elected as president and has a Democratic majority, will he go along with their efforts to restrict the rights of gun owners? Will he have another 9/11 epiphany that says gun ownership is a bad thing that was never part of our Constitution.

Giuliani wraps up all his qualifications in the blanket of his leadership on 9/11. He justifies his actions and his qualification to lead based on the terrible events of that fateful day. Take away that day and Rudy Giuliani is nothing more than a man whose political ideologies align with the left in America and could easily put him on a ballot with a Capital D after his name.

One must ask, if 9/11 had never happened would Giuliani be a viable candidate and, if so, would it be as a Republican. The answer to that question unravels the mystery because if you take away 9/11 all you have is another (liberal) pony.

M.O.M Knows Best

The Governor of Maryland, Martin O’Malley (M.O.M) has been in office for about 9 months and during this period he has been cooking up ways to impose massive tax increases that will affect every person in the state despite his claims that 83 or 95% of wage earners will see the same or lower taxes on their income. In keeping with the tradition of the Democrats, O’Malley is raising taxes to pay for spending that Democrats were and are responsible for. The Maryland political scene is full of Democrats and Republicans have held little or no power for a long time. Republicans had no influence on the spending that got this state into a 1.5 billion dollar structural deficit. It was all Democrats all the time and their refusal to curb the growth of government necessitates an increase in taxes, and these increases are those that I warned about after election day and before the Teflon Leprechaun took the oath of office.

M.O.M wants to raise taxes on cigarettes, a tax he was opposed to last year on the grounds that it was a decreasing revenue stream. He correctly indicated at the time that fewer people would smoke and more would quit and the revenue stream would dry up. I applauded that position as correct but now M.O.M has taken the incorrect path. I do not oppose taxes on cigarettes though I think they affect the poor much more than the wealthy and M.O.M claims to be an advocate for the poor. I have a real problem with projecting income from a tobacco tax and committing it to a cause (in this case health care). When revenues start to fade, where will the money come from that will pay for this new structural deficit? It will come from the taxpayer in the form of new and higher taxes.

M.O.M wants to raise the gasoline tax but in so doing he wants it to be a percentage of the cost of the gas so that each time gas prices rise so will the amount we pay in taxes. It is not bad enough that the state does not use the taxes in the manner that they were intended (the are supposed to pay for transportation needs but go to the general fund) but now we will be getting gouged by the state on a sliding scale. I guess since the oil companies were not gouging us, the Maryland government figured it needed to.

M.O.M also wants to change the income tax in this state. Currently, the state has a fair tax system because everyone pays the same percentage of income. The dollar amounts differ, of course, but each person pays 4.75% of his income to the state. For a person who makes $3000 a year (the lowest amount of taxable income) pays $142.50 and a person who makes a million dollars pays $47,500 or 333 times as much as the lowest wage earner but the percentage is the same. This is called fair but M.O.M does not see it this way. He wants to raise the percentage that the higher wage earners pay in what he calls a fair plan. Only to a Democrat can paying more than others be considered fair. Top this with the fact that lower wage earners consume the greatest amount of government resources (far more than the higher wage earners) and it is hard to imagine how any sane person can call this fair. It is socialism pure and simple.

M.O.M stated that 83% of wage earners would pay the same or less and then he revised this to 95% in order to get a large group of people to support him. He is using class envy to get support. M.O.M states that he can balance the budget by doing this so what he is really saying is that either 17% or 5% of the wage earners will foot the bill and pay off the incompetence of the Democrats while everyone else goes along for the ride, at least with regard to income taxes. I cannot imagine how anyone can call this fair. The problem is M.O.M actually believes that this is fair. I wonder how fair he would see it if Republicans in Maryland got two votes on election day because they are underrepresented. I imagine that would not fit his definition of fair.

The real kicker to the M.O.M plan is that he will raise the sales tax on goods by one cent. It will go from 5% to 6% and people claim that this is no big deal because it is only a penny (really it is a cent) but they fail to realize that this is a 20% increase in taxes. M.O.M will increase the sales tax by 20% and he is going to expand it to all kinds of services. The only service that will be exempted is lawyer fees. Lawyer fees will not be taxed but the amount a barber charges for a haircut will. I guess when a bunch of ambulance chasing lawyers get to make the laws they can exempt themselves from those laws, witness Congress.

The problem with this is that the 20% increase in the sales tax will hurt the middle and lower classes much more than the higher wage earners. The people M.O.M claims to want to help and to give a break to rely more heavily on goods than do the upper wage earners. Those in the lower wages will save 50 or 60 dollars a year in income taxes but will spend a lot more than that in services and goods that have the 20% increase imposed upon them. A new car purchase or a bunch of other smaller purchases will quickly erode any tax savings that the lower wage earners will briefly enjoy.

M.O.M is calling his plan a tax reform but it is no such thing. This is nothing more than raising taxes and it is that simple. Only a complete retard would buy this bill of goods from O’Malley and his Democratic colleagues. Of course, there are plenty of folks who step up and claim that it is a great idea because M.O.M has told them it will only affect the wealthy among us and that all others will live a wonderful life while sponging off the hard work of others. These people lack the intelligence to see how it will affect them and M.O.M is counting on that to get his tax increases pushed through. This is being done now so that there will be three years buffer between the increases and the next election. M.O.M will strike early and then claim he has not raised taxes in years. People like me will be around to constantly remind people of what he and his cronies did and to educate the less informed about the stupidity of this plan. Tax increases will not solve the problems. Problems will not be solved until the politicians learn to live within their means and to quit spending like a drunken sailer on shore leave. This is how we got into this mess in the first place.

The Democrats in Maryland are not fiscally responsible. They make laws and require spending and do not have a funding source. They spend and then make up their shortfalls by jumping on the backs of the hard working citizens of the state. In our own lives we cannot spend ourselves into huge debt and then coerce our bosses to pay us more money. We need to live within our means. In Maryland the legislature just extorts more money from the citizens and continues with business as usual. Maryland is the wealthiest state in the Union and yet cannot keep a tight lid on spending.

There are many people who will move out of this state. Those that have mobility in their jobs or flexibility to commute will do so. Neighboring states offer better deals than does Maryland though they have their issues as well. I do not have the ability to move just yet but I live close enough to Delaware to drive there and shop. Delaware charges NO sales tax so that will be quite a savings. My wife and I do not intend to replace our cars for quite some time. We hope to be residents of another state by the time we do. It is also obvious we need to give more scrutiny to our tax situation so as to not give one red cent more than we have to. For others who live in the oppressive state of Maryland, US savings bonds are exempt from state and local taxes.

Maryland government never met a tax it didn’t hike and M.O.M is no different. The only thing I take pleasure in is that the idiots who voted for this dumb ass will be paying through their teeth because of him. I only have to remind them that M.O.M promised to stop the electric rate hike. How will you folks make ends meet with that 75% electric increase and all these oppressive taxes.

All I can say is you got what you asked for so shut up, bend over, and take it. To M.O.M I say, you are an idiot and I only hope we have a recall election to get rid of your sorry ass.
