Another Sign We Need English as the Official Language

The Democrats held a debate in Spanish at the University of Miami. The Spanish language television station sponsored it and translated questions from people who do not mind coming to America and benefiting from the kindness of its citizens and its opportunities but who do not have enough courtesy to learn the language.

Of course it is difficult for people to learn our language because there is no incentive to do so. We spend a lot of money printing every damned thing in English and Spanish and making sure that we do not inconvenience these poor folks who must think the world owes them something. It is tough because people like Bill Richardson of New Mexico think it is a shame that people are foced to listen to English:

“I’m disappointed today that 43 million Latinos in this country — for them not to hear one of their own speak Spanish, is unfortunate,” Richardson said. “In other words, Univision is promoting English-only in this debate.” Washington Post

Bill, what do you mean for them not to hear ONE OF THEIR OWN? Are you not an American Citizen? You must be because you are running for the presidency so what is this ONE OF THEIR OWN crap? This is America you jackass and English is the language that we speak here. I am disappointed that a debate was held for Spanish speaking people and that they were not forced to speak English or not participate in the process.

Richardson does not deserve to be president of this country and if he thinks that he is ONE OF THEIRS then maybe he should go to one of those tin pot Central or South American countries and run for president there.

This country needs to make English the official language and force people to learn it if they are going to live here. I am tired of people getting off crimes because they did not understand. I am tired of them working in places where they provide customer service but cannot provide any service because they do not speak ENGLISH. I am able to communicate a few things in Spanish but I absolutely refuse to do so. If I want a straw or a napkin I should not have to play charades in order to get the point across. If I wanted to use sign language I would go to an establishment that employs deaf people.

Here is what I have to say to those who feel as Richardson does:

Aprenda el inglés o sace el infierno

Gore and Edwards, Two Losers

Gulf Stream Gore; Do as I say…

Dead End

Everyone knows by now that Al Gore says Global Warming is a big issue. Notice I indicated that he says it, because he certainly does not believe it. His house uses enough energy to power a small country and Al, while telling us to use economical transportation, jets around in a Gulf Stream gas hog private jet. Yes, Gulf Stream Gore probably puts more carbon in the atmosphere by himself than most families do and yet, this is deemed OK because of the racket he has going to sell carbon offsets. I planted a tree and four shrubs last year so my SUV and other energy use is covered so Al Gore can leave me alone. Sean Hannity will air a video of Gulf Steam Gore and his wasteful ways. Shame on you Al, some polar bear is probably standing on melting ice because of you.

Edwards Wants World Anti Terror Group

John Edwards, the man who is so confident that he will be the next president he carries a list of personnel he wants in his cabinet, is proposing the formation of an international organization to fight terrorism. This will be done through shared intelligence and will involve more countries than the US. Edwards says we need to protect America and pick up where George Bush has failed. Of course, we have not had any terror attacks here since 9/11 and many of the countries that Edwards would invite have so I am unsure how they will help, especially since we share intelligence anyway. This intelligence, gained from all over the world, is the intelligence that Edwards and other Democrats say was flawed and that President Bush used to “lie” us into war. I have a feeling that an organization such as this would end up like the UN where the countries with the most horrific records on human rights end up on the human rights commission. We will have a bunch of terrorist sponsoring nations sitting on the board of the organization discussing whether or not it was terror to lop off the heads of twenty school children for being Christians.

Yeah John, this is what we need.

Mickey Mouse before Giuliani

The more I listen to Rudy Giuliani the more I am convinced that he should not be the president of this country. I don’t really care how much he touts his so-called record in New York City and how he spins his liberal positions, he is not a Conservative. The only way Rudy Giuliani should be president is if he runs as a Democrat so his liberal views would fit better with the party. Rudy is pro- abortion and, despite how he tries to spin it, he is not a friend of the Second Amendment. He is a gun grabber and he would be happy taking our guns away.

I am not even focusing on those issues. They are known as are his other more liberal life choices. No, I am interested in ILLEGAL immigration and Rudy does not pass muster on that topic. In the debate the other night Rudy gave this great spin about why he allowed New York City to become a sanctuary city. He spun it like Charlotte spinning a web and he basically tried to rationalize why he did what he did, in part, by laying the blame on immigration services. They are, by no means perfect, but one incompetent act should not be excused by another.

In an interview, Rudy Giuliani said that ILLEGALS being here was not a crime and that it is just hard for us to understand. I will admit that I am not the big time lawyer Rudy is but since he is unable to follow the law and he is unable to recognize the Second Amendment as a right of the people, I am unsure as to has the difficult time understanding these things. Here is what Rudy said about immigration in an interview with Glenn Beck:

GLENN: Right. But isn’t illegal immigration a crime in and of itself?

GIULIANI: No.

GLENN: Aren’t you saying —

GIULIANI: Glenn —

GLENN: You’re protecting criminals by saying that being treated as a criminal is unfair.

GIULIANI: Glenn, it’s not a crime. I know that’s very hard for people to understand, but it’s not a federal crime.

GLENN: It’s a misdemeanor but if you’ve been nailed, it is a crime. If you’ve been nailed, ship back and come back, it is a crime.
Glenn Beck.com

Once again this master politician is spinning things. Beck asked him about the criminal behavior and he said it is not a crime. Then he said it is not a federal crime. Technically, he is right because getting caught entering is a felony but being found here is a misdemeanor. This is a flaw in the law but it does not give license to politicians to decide that they will ignore the misdemeanor. Rudy has this idea that reporting ILLEGALS who register kids in school, go to the hospital, or report crime is a bad thing. What sense does it make to say that we will ignore your crime if you report another one? Getting a traffic ticket is a misdemeanor. Will they excuse mine if I report another crime? What happens if I (or an ILLEGAL) only report another misdemeanor? Will they arrest the other person while ignoring our transgressions? The law is the law and when we start excusing one form of lawbreaking it ends up in chaos.

Jon Soltz a Military Expert?

I have seen Jon Soltz on several occasions. I saw the video from the Kos convention where he tried to act tough and intimidate a soldier. The soldier was in uniform and Soltz tried to intimidate him for political activities while wearing the uniform when it appears that the soldier was not participating in any such activities and had just asked a question. Soltz threatened to take report the troops to his commander and to “take it offline” like that kind of threat from him would worry anyone. It is unfortunate that this Captain and the General (Clark) who was with him did not know the regulation and, in the case of Stoltz, acted unprofessionally.

I saw this so called leader on Hannity and Colmes last evening and he berated the person with whom he was discussing the situation in Iraq. Soltz was talking with Dan Senor and basically stated that he would not listen to what Senor had to say because Soltz had been in the service and did not need to give credence to what anyone who was not there had to say. He attacked Senor rather than the argument. Every time I see this jerk I see a person who is full of himself and thinks that because he attained the lofty rank of Captain, he knows everything about the military and that he is the only one who can speak for veterans. His Bio at the Huffington Post states; “Jon Soltz has quickly become one of the most authoritative voices on veterans issues and military issues.” In whose world? Who made this putz an authoritative voice on anything? The guy is a bully who cannot see any other point of view and he expresses that point of view at the expense of others.

I certainly do not think that this guy is a military expert. In his piece at HuffPo he asserts that the White House forced some changes to the Iraqi report card on benchmarks. According to him there were 3 of 18 met and now there is one that is partially met. I have seen a number of reports that indicate that 8 of 18 have been achieved so I do not know, and it is immaterial. My point of contention for this “expert” is this statement:

So, let’s be clear here. As the Washington Post originally reported, only three benchmarks have been met. Fifteen have not. That Iraqis are so far flunking here is just more evidence that the surge has not worked, and that there is no military solution to this problem. Troops can’t make Iraqis allocate and spend $10 billion, or any of the other things listed in the benchmarks.

His assertion that the failure of the Iraqi government to achieve benchmarks is proof that the surge is not working is ridiculous. He is correct in stating that our troops cannot allocate and spend the money but that is not their purpose nor is it the purpose of the surge. The surge is to provide more force to stabilize the region so that the government can attain those benchmarks more easily. The government of Iraq has a a long way to go. As history shows, forming a government is a long and tedious process and it will take longer than a few months to get Iraq to a state of stability. The government there is in recess and though I think that was stupid I can not fault them much, they learned that part of Democracy from our Government.

In any event, this report is not some indication that the surge has failed, as Soltz would have us believe. The troops are doing what they are supposed to and the area is becoming more secure. I have an idea though. Rather than listen to the rantings of a self righteous unprofessional like Soltz, why don’t we wait and see what General Petraeus has to say on the subject. Surely a General Officer with a lot of military experience has a better grasp of things than a Captain who could not lead a group of people out of a burning building. I guess Soltz is following suit of the Democrats and attacking another aspect, because the Petraeus report is likely to be good and what is good for America is bad for Democrats.

As for the benchmarks, keep in mind that the Democratically controlled Congress has achieved only one of the many things it promised to accomplish (remember the 100 hours). The Iraq government is still ahead of our government and they have bullets flying around them.

Guys like Soltz are why fragging was invented.

The Troops Approve of the President

There is a small number of military personnel who are opposed to action in Iraq and who oppose President Bush, despite what certain trolls and people at the Daily Kos would have us believe. People cite donations to Ron Paul and outspoken critics like Wesley Clark as proof that a large number of people in the military oppose the President and our actions in Iraq and around the world. I speak to a a lot of military folks and most would love the war to be over but not until we have won. They do not want to be forced to leave in disgrace as we did in Vietnam, a war we were on the verge of winning until the Democrats stopped the flow of money. North Vietnam admitted it was on the verge of collapse and that the carpet bombing was taking its toll. Unfortunately, out government gave away the farm in Paris and this allowed the North Vietnamese to declare itself the victor despite the fact it lost every battle.

Most of the Democrats are still around and they want us to lose this war just as well. They would be content with pulling out (sounds Clintonesque) and leaving a lot of Iraqis to die and bringing shame upon our country once again. Maybe this is why the President is well respected by the troops who are on the ground. They know that he will not abandon them regardless of what it costs him politically. Even though this country has not been attacked since 9/11 and even though we have thwarted a number of plots to do us harm the constant barrage of left wing negative media has taken its toll on the President’s approval ratings. Though his numbers are low, they are 20 points higher than those of Congress. People can point fingers and try to figure out why Congress has low approval numbers but the plain truth is because they suck. They are terrible and cannot lead. They cannot get along and they fail to legislate properly. Members of both parties have their heads stuck up their rectal cavities and are unable to see what is really going on. Couple this with their childish behavior and you have your answer for the low number.

The President made a surprise visit to Iraq to see the troops and to get a first hand look at how things are going. He met with a lot of our brave men and women and he spoke to nearly a thousand of them. In Iraq, just as everywhere he goes to speak to troops, he was received warmly and the response to what he said was enthusiastic. Compare his reception by the VFW and American Legion to those received by the Democrats who spoke there and it is easy to see who veterans prefer to be at the helm.

The men and women of our armed forces want to get the job done and they want to come home. They however, do not want to be pulled out of Iraq until they have completed their mission and that is to win. Losing is not an option to the brave men and women who defend our freedom each and every day while lesser people than they fight like kids in the Capitol Hill sandbox.

Our troops do not appreciate Jack Murtha and his rush to judgment of some Marines who, after their day in court, had the charges dropped. The troops do not appreciate Harry Reid and his declarations that we have lost the war and that the surge is not working. They do not appreciate Hillary Rodham and her on again off again support for the troops based upon who she is peaking to on any given day. They do not appreciate her waffling on the war and her commitment and they realize she is not fit to lead them. They do not appreciate John Kerry who makes jokes at their expense and they do not care for Nancy Pelosi who is working to remove the things they need to fight and win.

Our troops do not care about the politics of the issue because their job is a serious one where any moment they can lose their lives doing what nearly every member of Congress sent them to do. They do not care who is pissed at whom in DC and they don’t care what party is in power so long as they get what they need to accomplish their mission. They would probably prefer to have Republicans in power because Republicans have traditionally supported our troops while the only thing the Democrats have been good at is sending them into battle and then abandoning them (Democrats got us into nearly every conflict in the last century). But the party in power means less to them than getting the support they need.

President Bush had a good visit with our warriors and none of them had crossed fingers while meeting with him, unlike a certain Senator from New York, a Senator the troops despise.
