Perception is Reality

Barack Obama is a very liberal person even though people believe he comes off as centrist. Obama has a hard time agreeing with Conservatives because of a deluded blindness he has. He believes that Liberals base things on fact and reason:

“The arguments of liberals are more often grounded in reason and fact.” Examiner

Nothing could be further from the truth. liberals base everything on emotion and on their belief that they are the chosen ones who should lead all people. The Liberals believe in Global Warming and yet as many scientists oppose the idea as support it and no one, not even Al Gore, has come up with definitive proof that it is happening or that man is responsible if it is. Liberals believe that it is murder to put a convicted killer to death but a right to kill an unborn child. Liberals believe that the terrorists who want to kill us would be much friendlier if we just sat down and talked to them.

Liberals believe that guns commit crimes and that the people who use the guns are just victims. Liberals believe that any mention of God is wrong and not protected under the First Amendment but that the same Amendment allows newspapers to print classified information. Liberals believe that this is George Bush’s war and that he started it. They also believe that the people who attacked us were freedom fighters and it is our fault they did so.

Liberals believe that Bill Clinton shares no blame for the terrorist attacks after eight years in office and that George Bush shoulders all the blame after just eight months in office. Liberals believe that Bill Clinton was telling the truth when he said that we had not heard of al-Qaeda or bin Laden and that there was no reason to go after him and also believe him when he contradicts himself and says he came the closest to getting bin Laden.

If this is all fact and reason then America needs to dismiss Obama right now. He has been rated 95% liberal and he believes that Liberals base things on fact and reason. So far, I have seen absolutely no facts and no reasoning in anything that Liberals have said or done.

Here is a fact to chew on. Liberals would be happy to see us lose the war.

Kerry Against Kyoto before he was for it, Still a Traitor

I was bad enough that John Kerry came home from Vietnam and protested against the war while still an officer in the Naval Reserve. He also went to Paris and met with representatives of our enemy, a task he had no authority to engage in. Kerry took the side of the enemy and his words inspired them. These are acts of treason. Yet, this country allows this pompous ass to serve in the Senate instead of charging him with his crimes.

It seems that Kerry has not changed. At the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland Kerry bashed this country and blamed President Bush for every problem. He said that we had become sort of an international pariah. He said this a few feet from Mohammad Khatami, the former President of the Iranian terror state. So once again Kerry is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Just as the very aged Jane Fonda could not resist a protest, Kerry can not resist treason. In his desire to bash Bush, he was once again, incorrect. As KX points out, Kerry blamed things on Bush that Clinton was responsible for:

Kerry said the Bush administration has failed in addressing a number of foreign policy issues.

“When we walk away from global warming, Kyoto, when we are irresponsibly slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa, when we don’t advance and live up to our own rhetoric and standards, we set a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy,” KX Net

As is the norm for John Kerry, as soon as he opened his mouth he inserted his foot all the way to his ankle. It was Clinton who did not send the treaty for ratification. The Senate had a 95-0 vote (5 abstained) on what was the Byrd-Hagel Resolution. The Senate recommendation was that the US should not be a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol. Snap, looks like the Senate did this long before Bush was President (while hero Bubba was there) and in a double snap Kerry voted which means he voted NOT to ratify Kyoto. The Bush administration has just continued in that path and will not recommend ratification based on the exemption for China and the potential impact on the US economy.

John Kerry was against Kyoto before he was for it, this seems to be a pattern for this moonbat. He really should try to get his facts straight before h opens his mouth. During the 2004 campaign Kerry was behind Bush in the polls and he made the remark “I can’t believe I am losing to this fu**ing idiot.” While that idiot is often lambasted for his speech and the mistakes he makes while talking (Letterman has a near nightly segment on it) Kerry, the supposed smart one, seems to be making the gaffes. His so called botched joke was a foot in the mouth moment and was directly cited as a major reason Kerry will not run in 2008. This latest act of treason shows once again that Kerry is actually the idiot but he is not the least bright of the idiots.

The least bright are the dimwits in Massachusetts who keep putting him back in office. Add in the fact that the same voters keep putting Ted Kennedy back in office and it is easy to see that in addition to the failed universal health care plan of Massachusetts, their educational system is another thing we should never try to force upon the rest of the country.

Tancredo Says What Others Think

Tom Tancredo, a Congressman from Colorado, has taken some tough stands on issues. He is real tough on ILLEGAL immigration and he wants to get rid of the ILLEGALS. I admire the fact that he believes that they are a problem that needs to be dealt with. Today he decided to take on racism in the Congress.

Tancredo called for abolishing the racist caucuses that exist in the Congress. He wants to do away with the Congressional Black Caucus, the Hispanic Caucus and any other race based caucus. It is about time these racist organizations were taken to task. Tancredo believes that it is hard to portray an image of a diverse, color blind America, with race based caucuses in the Congress.

I have been saying this for years. While we are at it we can get rid of the Black Miss America Pageant, The United Negro College Fund, and the NAACP. These groups do nothing more than widen the racial divide in this country. There are those who will call Tancredo racist. In one of life’s ironies, the organizations that have membership based on race, will call him a racist for trying to abolish their groups.

White only organizations always come under fire especially if a politician uses their organization. Let a country club that has a white only membership be used for a white politician’s party (wedding reception etc.) and that politician is forced to apologize, and account for his actions. Let some group that is a white organization refuse membership to blacks and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are marching in the streets. I imagine if they had a Congressional White Caucus there would be real problems and Jackson would tell us how terrible white America is.

Imagine how it would be if a Jesse Jackson’s son, who serves in Congress, were denied admission to the white caucus. “Sorry Mr. Jackson, membership is restricted to whites only.” Enter daddy:

I can’t believe that this kind of racism is present in the Congress of the younited states. We must unite, fight, be right, delight and ignite the flames of power to truth as we get rid of this shameful practice of discrimination. I will devote, emote, and quote until this travesty is removed. It is not bad enough those whities are running the country into the ground and oppressing our people by shooting them down in cold blood as their jackbooted Nazi police under orders from that Nazi George Bush laugh. It is a travesty and we can not stand for it. My son will work hard like a retard playing with lard in the yard to make sure he is admitted to the good ole boy’s KKK club. He will not let a McKinney happen to him! Poor girl beaten half to death by a white cop.

Uh, Mr. Jackson, are you aware your son belongs to the Congressional Black Caucus and they have a policy of only admitting blacks?”

That is different because we were oppressed, regressed, digressed, unimpressed at the hands of slave owners. Whites do not belong in black organizations. The entire Congress is the white caucus and you whiteys have the power. The Hymies are running a close second and then somewhere lower you find my brothers and sisters who have worked through discrimination to be treated like they are on a plantation. My son had to prioritize, stylize, realize, simonize and acclimatize in order to make it where he is and now that he is there no damned whitey is gonna join the group but you can bet he is gonna get in that racist white caucus and break up that clan meeting. He will break the clan with a plan to be a fan again and again to make it happen.

And there you have the dirty little secret. Racism is alive and well in America and it is OK so long as you are a minority racist. Have you ever noticed that when a white candidate is being questioned (especially a Republican) for a position like the Supreme Court there are always questions about belonging to groups in college that would not allow blacks (or women)? I wonder if it would count if a black Congressman was nominated for one of these positions and was asked about belonging to a racist organization that did not admit whites. Would he have to say yes, the Congressional Black Caucus is such an organization or would he get a pass because it is OK to be a racist if you are a minority. Just a thought.

Go Tancredo, get them all abolished or start a Congressional White Caucus.

Bush Did not Mention Florida Hurricanes in SOTU

During the SOTU Address last evening I noticed that George Bush did not mention the Florida hurricanes that took place several years ago. Even though a lot of people in Florida are still waiting for their properties to be repaired, after all these years, Bush failed to mention it. I noticed that the Florida Governor did not complain or say that Bush was not providing for the Floridians who were affected by this storm.

However, I also noticed in the news that Governor Kathleen Blanco, the completely inept leader of Louisiana, was very critical of Bush’s speech because he did not mention Hurricane Katrina, an event that took place in 2005. Blanco feels that her state is forgotten now and will fall by the wayside despite the fact that taxpayers were fleeced of $250 billion to rebuild the place. This is, according to Blanco, being shortchanged.

I am tired of this woman crying about the problems she is having. Here is an idea. Take your inmates and bus them to New Orleans. Make them clean up and rebuild the place like the old chain gangs of the past. Put them to work. How about we get an accurate accounting of the money that has been sent down there and find out where it is going.

I just don’t hear the Governors of Mississippi and Florida making all these complaints and Mississippi was hit worse than New Orleans and Florida has been waiting for years. Lack of leadership is the problem in Louisiana. That is what caused the problems with Nagin and Blanco when the storm hit and it continues to this day.

Matt Drudge is No Gentleman

The press receives an advanced copy of the President’s speeches and some of them are embargoed which means they are not allowed to be used until the time indicated. This practice is a gentleman’s agreement between the press and the White House and it goes back a long way. The White House is under no obligation to provide advanced copies and does so as a courtesy. One would assume that the press could keep their part of the bargain. The legitimate press did.

Matt Drudge, a name familiar to anyone with Internet access, somehow got a hold of the embargoed speech and promptly posted it on his web site, well before the embargo ended. Drudge likes to think of himself as some kind of maverick who is on the cutting edge in the news world. In all reality, his web site is nothing more than a clearing house for links to other people’s work. Rarely is there any original content because Drudge just puts up links to the work of legitimate members of the press as well as items submitted by readers. I can not say he is unsuccessful because his site gets millions of hits a day from people looking for the latest news or links to some story a reader reports that Drudge will be happy to post and for which he might even give credit.

There is a gentleman’s agreement and it is expected that people who receive the courtesy extended by the White House would abide by that agreement. Unfortunately, Drudge chose to act in a cowardly fashion. I imagine he thinks it is important to be the first out of the chute (not a major accomplishment here Matt, any journalist could have done that but they are professional) so that millions more people will flock to his site. Drudge’s site has quite a few ads and I am sure he makes really good money from them from all the page hits but it must be terrible to have such low self esteem that he needs to break a time honored tradition to be first. We are not talking about some terrible scandal, we are talking about a speech.

It would not surprise me if the White House stopped providing the advanced copies or if they at least restricted it to hard copy and only for established, professionals, not Internet hacks who desire fame so badly they are willing to be dishonorable to get it. One might be able to excuse Drudge if this were the first time or if he made a mistake about the time but he takes pride in “breaking embargoes.”

Drudge didn’t respond to requests for comment from ABC News this morning but recently has been heard to boast on his Sunday night radio show, “That’s what we do here at the Drudge Report. We break embargoes.” The Blotter

What does it say about a person who brags about being an embargo breaker but does not have the testicular fortitude to answer calls from real journalists seeking comment? I say it shows that Drudge is a coward who thinks it is great to break time honored traditions for his own personal gain.

This kind of childish, cowardly act, is what causes the professional journalists to dismiss bloggers and others using alternative media. They view us as hacks who can not work professionally and who have no ethics. I have no great love for the MSM and think that the alternative media is important to keep them on their toes (Rathergate anyone?) but I also give them credit for being professional enough to honor agreements. It shows a great deal of professionalism to honor an embargo agreement and not disclose the items until the agreed upon time. I know Drudge has a great history of being first and being cutting edge but he has also been wrong because of his recklessness. To me, there is no difference between him being trusted with something and betraying that trust and the person who passes classified information. Each has been trusted and each has violated that trust. Would you really trust him with any information?

I do not knock the fact that Drudge took an idea and made it a success (he makes over a million dollars a year) even if it is just a website with links to other people’s work. The fact is though, he could have followed decorum. This is not too much to ask with regard to a story that is not an Earth shattering event.

If I were in the White House last night’s speech would have been the last that was sent out. Then Matt would have to wait like everyone else.
