Maybe McCain Was Right
Jul 14, 2007 Political
John McCain has been in the Senate a long time and has run for President before without success. His campaign is in trouble and I do not imagine he will be around much longer. He has angered the base with his appeasement of Liberals and his desire to give our country away through amnesty. I don’t much care for him as a politician.
However, not long ago McCain sang a song to the tune of the Beach Boys song Barbara Ann. He used the words bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran and he was chastised for this. With the news today that Iranian made missiles were found n Iraq and they were pointed at a US base, perhaps McCain was right in his assessment.
I can not say that Iranians put the missiles there but since they are Iranian missiles there is no doubt where they came from. Iran has been injecting itself in our business in Iraq for some time now and maybe, just maybe, it is time to put McCain’s little song to music.
The sweet sound of daisy cutters tearing up the Iranian countryside. Now that would be music to my ears.

Vote Wayne Gilchrest Out Of Office
Jul 13, 2007 Political
Wayne Gilchrest has continually voted against Republicans and the President in items that relate to the war. He is pandering to Democrats in Maryland and he is no different than the cut and run crowd on the left. I have written to Congressman Gilchrest and have received several letters in return. They are generally condescending and point to his weakness as a leader. I have warned him that I plan to actively support anyone who runs against him regardless of party and I intend to do just that. In fact, I am not voting for any incumbent in the next election.
Gilchrest was one of only four Republicans to vote for a timetable in Iraq and this is in keeping with his weakness as a leader. He refuses to stand up for the troops and our country by ensuring that we fight the enemy in their house and not ours. Additionally, Gilchrest’s vote went against the original promise of Congress to give the surge until September before any moves were made. This was based on Iraq meeting certain milestones, some of which they have.
Gilcrest is a poor leader who has kept his seat by running unopposed or against weak opponents. I would run against him if I had the money. Maryland needs a real leader and I am a far better ne than Wayne. Thankfully, he has an opponent in the primary and a Democrat has also announced intentions to run for the seat. I fully intend to support his Republican rival and if Gilchrest wins the primary I will support his Democratic challenger. Unlike the Daily Kos, this site believes in supporting those who are best qualified regardless of party though I would certainly rather have Republicans in office. I will support a moderate Democrat over a poor Republican. Along with my vote, Gilchrest has lost the votes of many who will follow my lead.
I warned you Wayne and you did not listen. In 2008 we are going to do our best to ensure you are defeated. I will send you an I told you so letter during your lame duck session.
There are growing movements like this all over and we are hoping to see people like Gilchrest and Lindsey Graham gone in the next election.
Poor leaders make our country weak and Wayne Gilchrest is a poor leader.

Dems React to Clemency, Big Dog Dissects Comments
Jul 3, 2007 Political
As you might know by now, President Bush granted clemency for Scooter Libby who will now not have to serve his jail time after his conviction for lying to the Grand Jury and obstruction of justice (or miscarriage of justice depending upon how you look at it). I wrote earlier that the left would go bonkers over this. I have some of their quotes and I thought I would publish them and see if we can make sense of them. I already dissected Obama’s stupidity so I will not investigate his further. Without further ado:
- “When it comes to the law, there should not be two sets of rules – one for President Bush and Vice President Cheney and another for the rest of America. Even Paris Hilton had to go to jail. No one in this administration should be above the law.” – Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.
Or one for Bill Clinton and a different one for Libby. Paris Hilton had to go to jail but Harry Reid, William Jefferson and Bill Clinton did not. You are right Dickey, there should not be two sets of rules, one for Bill Clinton and the Democrats and one for everyone else. - “Accountability has been in short supply in the Bush administration, and this commutation fits that pattern.” – Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt.
Accountability has been in short supply in Washington DC for decades. No one, left or right takes responsibility for his actions. However Senator, you were the one who leaked classified information in the past. How did you hold yourself accountable for that? Why are you still in office? - “Only a president clinically incapable of understanding that mistakes have consequences could take the action he did today. President Bush has just sent exactly the wrong signal to the country and the world.” – former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C.
Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. Yes mistakes have consequences but when was the last time you saw this excessive of a punishment for this type of crime by a first time offender? I have seen bank robbers and people committing crimes with guns allowed back on the street sooner. Let me ask you John, how did you vote with regard to the Clinton Impeachment? Did his mistakes have consequences or was it OK because he is a Democrat? Just to remind you, you voted not guilty so shut up dumb ass - “The Constitution gives President Bush the power to commute sentences, but history will judge him harshly for using that power to benefit his own vice president’s chief of staff who was convicted of such a serious violation of law.” – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
Harry, I will ask you the same question. How did you vote in the Clinton impeachment? You voted not guilty. If history will not look unfavorably on a bozo like you voting that Clinton was not guilty when he clearly committed the crime, then I think Bush will get a pass on this one. Harry, I know you think you can do what you want and the way you break the law on a regular basis shows it but you can’t let Clinton slide and hammer Libby. Sorry jackass, now you can sit down. - “This commutation sends the clear signal that in this administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice.” – Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.
Hill, you are the last person who should discuss cronyism considering how you and that bumpkin husband of yours brought all your hog slopping buddies to the White House as pay offs. Seeing how your hubby made sure his friends received pardons perhaps you should leave this one alone. Susan McDougal, two Democratic Congressmen and Roger Clinton (Bill’s half brother) were all pardoned by him so don’t discuss cronyism with those of us who know the score. You might be able to get the airheads following you around to believe it but the fact is your hubby was less than honorable in the pardon department. Do us a favor and ride through Dallas with the top down. - “The president said he would hold accountable anyone involved in the Valerie Plame leak case. By his action today, the president shows his word is not to be believed.” – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
San Fran Nan, nice of you to chime in with your stupid comment of the day. Show me please, how Libby was involved in the Plame case. He did not leak her name, he was convicted of lying. If they convicted Democrats every time they lied you could hold session in the county lock-up. Read this carefully bimbo, Libby was convicted of lying. You and your colleagues lie every day. Does that mean you are involved in the Plame case as well? You really should think before you open your mouth. Is the Botox numbing your brain? - “It is time for the American people to be heard – I call for all Americans to flood the White House with phone calls tomorrow expressing their outrage over this blatant disregard for the rule of law.” – Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del.
I am assuming these are Biden’s words. He is known to use the words of others and take credit but we will assume they are his. Hey Joe, I am urging all Americans to call you office and let you know what a boob we think you are. America, please call Joe’s DC office at 202-224-5042 and let him know that you think he is a boob. Flood his office with phone calls telling him that you agree with the clemency, or that you don’t agree because you think it should have been a pardon. - “President Bush’s 11th-hour commutation of Scooter Libby’s sentence makes a mockery of the justice system and betrays the idea that all Americans are expected to be held accountable for their actions, even close friends of Vice President Cheney.” – Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.
John, if ever there was a jackass who was not held accountable it was you. You went off to Vietnam and scammed the system and then when you came home you protested this country while still in the Naval Reserve, probably received a less than honorable discharge (until Carter changed it) and met with the enemy of this country as a private citizen. These are acts of treason and instead of taking you out back and shooting you, they put you in office. You were not held accountable until 2004 and how did you handle that? You cried it was a bunch of unfair lies, boo hoo. If you believe in accountability, how did you hold Clinton accountable? You voted not guilty so when you had your chance to hold someone accountable, you let your friend off the hook. Shut up loser. - “By commuting Scooter Libby’s sentence, the president continues to abdicate responsibility for the actions of his administration. The only ones paying the price for this administration’s actions are the American people.” – Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn.
Chris, you too voted not guilty on Clinton so spare us the feigned indignation. You abdicated your responsibility when it came to Clinton’s impeachment. You failed to hold Billy accountable for what he did and you let him off the hook. Surely you are not suggesting that Libby should receive a harsher punishment? But of course you are, Libby is a Republican. - “This decision sends the wrong message about the rule of law in the United States, just as the president is meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. How can we hold the line against injustices in other countries when our own executive branch deliberately sets out to smear its critics, lies about it and then wriggles away without having to pay the price in prison?” – Rep. Tom Lantos, D-Calif.
Well, Tom, where was all this indignation when Democrats were urging people to get on board with immigration amnesty? It seems to me that a lot of Americans were saying that granting amnesty to these people undermines the rule of law in our country but Democrats were insisting that this is the only way. Hell, these people only committed a felony by breaking in. Let’s give them amnesty, social security, Medicaid and free schooling for their kids while we screw Libby to a cross. Would you also care to show how the administration attacked its critics when Wilson was the one who lied? If he had not said that Cheney sent him it probably would not have been an issue. You have been smoking too much of the medical marijuana, haven’t you? Shut up jackass. - “The arrogance of this administration’s disdain for the law and its belief it operates with impunity are breathtaking. Will the president also commute the sentences of others who obstructed justice and lied to grand juries, or only those who act to protect President Bush and Vice President Cheney?” – New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson.
Well Bill, I imagine whoever he decides to take care of he will not do it for money. Where were you when Billy sold pardons for millions of dollars? Were you screaming about that? Can you explain why you went to Sudan to try and free Paul Salopek, a National Geographic reporter who had been charged with espionage. He has two passports, maps of the place and no visa. I have no doubt this guy was innocent but he was charged under the law there and Christopher Shays, who had been there earlier stated; “[Salopek] did a very foolish thing coming into the country without a visa and he knows that… He knew he made a mistake.” Bill, I admire the fact that you helped the guy out but if he broke the law are you not showing disdain for it by intervening on his behalf? He admitted that he broke the law by not having the visa. You worked to make sure he was released with no jail time, same thing President Bush did for Libby. Don’t let partisan politics get in the way of decency. Libby did not murder anyone.
That does it for stupid Congress quotes for the time being. The stupidity and double standard is amazing. Any Senator who voted not guilty on Clinton has no say in this matter because they have shown perjury is OK by them. They all need to get back to work and stop playing games. Though I did say they would lose their minds…..
Jackasses.

Immigration History Lesson and Where to Go from Here
Jun 29, 2007 Immigration, Political
Many in our country see immigration amnesty as a natural good for this country. The well-to-do [from both parties] require domestic workers to keep their lawns looking good and to watch their offspring while mom and dad attend their country club meetings. Many Americans, especially those born in the last few decades, do not understand the history of immigration, especially amnesty packages that usually accompany them.
There are many arguments against the immigration amnesty bill. It rewards lawbreakers, it dilutes our nation, it allows unskilled or low skilled workers to take jobs from Americans at lower wages and as a result suppresses wages. Republicans want it because big business likes the cheap labor to pad the profit margin and Democrats want it because they want the cheap domestic labor and the increased voter block (that votes heavily Democratic). Supporters of this bill say that it provides for the security of this nation and it will secure our borders. The amnesty bill that just died its second death is thicker than the Bible and contains so much legal mumbo jumbo that it would be hard to enforce and Americans have no real reason to trust Congress to uphold their end of the deal. Supporters talk a good talk but once they get these ILLEGALS on board and have waved the amnesty wand they will find a number of reasons not to secure the borders. We will be told that it is now unnecessary because we have absorbed the ILLEGALS. Ted Kennedy is the sponsor of this bill and he is pushing hard for it. In defeat he asked what we are to do now. During the debate he told us that the border was a jungle and border patrol agents wasted time catching landscapers rather than terrorists. NOTE: If the border is a jungle and agents are catching landscapers, why not put them to work landscaping the jungle?
Kennedy has been through all this before and each time Americans have been promised that the amnesty would have no impact on us, that it would not take jobs from Americans and even, that there would be no further amnesty. For those who were not around and for those who have not read about it, I present the history of Kennedy immigration amnesty through his quotes:
1965: “The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”
1986: “This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”
2007: “Now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system.” NRO
Conservatives know that you get more of what you pay for, therefore it was absolutely incorrect when Kennedy said in 1965 that we would not be flooded with immigrants or that our ethnic mix would not be upset or even that the standards would not be relaxed. We have an entire southwest that is changing into a Hispanic country within a country and the ethnic mix in California is quite pronounced. We have gone from the under 200 thousand a year that were allowed here in 1965 to 12 to 20 million living here illegally, so we were flooded with immigrants. The legal Hispanic population has increased greatly since that time so that Hispanics make up a larger portion of the population than blacks (and only second to European whites). We see that the government failed to secure the borders or enforce the laws which certainly relaxed the standards and, there can be no doubt, that Kennedy’s last sentence about taking American jobs was dead wrong.
In 1986 Kennedy told us that we would only be giving citizenship to under 1.5 million people and that there would be no further amnesty bills [like this]. Since 1986 the number of ILLEGALS in this country went from 4 million to 12-20 million and the newest Kennedy fiasco seeks to give them a path to citizenship. Perhaps Kennedy was drunk or hungover when they taught math in school but this number far exceeds the number he touted a mere 21 years ago. Additionally, the newest attempt to legalize immigrants is an amnesty bill and while Teddy might argue that he escaped with the “like this” clause, the fact is the previous amnesty bills came with promises that were not kept.
Those who oppose this new bill are labeled as racists, xenophobes, and (as I was) nativists. The fact of the matter is, this is our country and we have a right to say who gets to come here and under what circumstances they get to do so. Americans, who overwhelmingly do not support this bill, want other measures taken before we deal with those who are here ILLEGALLY. We want a moratorium placed on immigration so that we can get a handle on the people who are here. We want tough penalties and fines for employers who have ILLEGALS on their payrolls and we want the border secure. By cracking down on employers the market for jobs will dry up and ILLEGALS will go elsewhere as evidenced by the crackdown in Panama City Florida. The sheriff has been showing up at construction sites with 5 or 6 cars and watching for people to run. They then pick them up for trespassing or speeding (as they ran through someone’s property or sped off) and report them to Immigration. The result is that ILLEGALS are leaving because employers are not hiring them. This can work across the country if we just enforce the law.
Once we have a cooling period where we have secured the border (with a fence or a wall as San Diego did), once we have weeded out the ILLEGALS from the job market by cracking down on employers and once we have a handle on what we have in this country (which should reduce through attrition as ILLEGALS find it more difficult to get work) then we can get to work on a truly comprehensive bill that would allow seasonal and guest workers to do some of the work we do not have enough people to accomplish. During that down time we can also clear the nearly 4 million person backlog of those waiting to get here legally.
One very important thing that needs to be done with regard to immigration is for Congress to revisit the 14th Amendment. I have written before discussing the 14th and how it was designed to confer Citizenship upon former slaves and their natural born children. The authors of the Amendment never intended it to confer Citizenship on children born to people who were here ILLEGALLY or to parents who are not citizens of our country. This has been discussed at length and the author’s own words clearly spell this out. However, the statement “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” has been misinterpreted and misapplied. It means you must be a subject of the state (and therefore the country) and have an allegiance to the US as in being a citizen or emancipated slave. We can clear this up if Congress passes a law that says one must be born to citizens to be a citizen and then invoke Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution to exempt the law from judicial review. This would allow the stated intent of the 14th to be carried out without activist judges interpreting it to fit their points of view and keep people from having “jackpot” or “anchor” babies to game the system.
America is not a nation of immigrants. We are a nation that came from immigrants but the majority of us came from families of people who, for generations, were born here. We welcome immigrants who come here legally with open arms and expect them to assimilate into our society, just as our founders intended. The melting pot took people from all places and molded them into Americans. This is an absolute must if we are to maintain our identity and our sovereignty as a nation.
Americans do not trust Congress to do what is right. They [Congress] have demonstrated that they can not so what is right and have failed miserably the other two times they had the chance. Now, instead of lumping everything in one bill, we want them to take baby steps. Do the right things that are needed first and then we can figure out how to handle the issue of the people involved.
That, Senator Kennedy, is where we go from here.
As an aside, does anyone see it as wrong that Ted Kennedy was involved in the first amnesty and 42 years later he is still at it? If ever there was a poster child for term limits, Kennedy would be it.

Vote These People Out of Office, Traitors!
Jun 26, 2007 Immigration, Political
The following list contains the names of those Senators who voted to continue ramming immigration amnesty down our throats. Their yes votes moved us closer to a weakened position and loss of our sovereignty. Print this list and remember the names. If they are in your state and they are up for reelection in 2008 then you need to vote against them. We need to put all of them who are up for reelection out of office regardless of what party they are and regardless of what party replaces them. They are a disgrace to this country and they should not be in elected office. There are several on this list who want to be the next president. Biden, Clinton, Obama and McCain (he will never get the nomination because Republicans will not stand for this) all voted yes to weaken this country. Are any of these people the kind we want leading us. We already have a president who is selling us out. They keep telling us how they are different than George W. Bush but they are really no different, at least in this respect.
