Trent Lott Bats 3 for 4
Jun 11, 2007 Political
Trent Lott is now batting at a .750 clip after now going 3 for 4 in the Senate. He started off by supporting the immigration bill and this was the bad mark on his lofty batting average. He came around when he indicated that if they could not get this bill done they should vote to disband Congress and come back after the next election (assuming they won again and could come back). This was a brilliant idea and America would be most grateful. The country is safer the longer Congress is not in session.
Those were his at bats in the immigration debate and then he stepped to the plate in the Senate no confidence vote for Alberto Gonzales, the Attorney General. This was a BS vote to try and force Republicans to show what they feel and to make Gonzales see that he should resign. It is a non binding procedure which is just another big waste of time. Lott voted against it and that was his second hit. His thrid hit came when he said this:
Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss., said it was inappropriate for the Senate to hold forth on a member of the president’s Cabinet.
“This is a nonbinding, irrelevant resolution proving what? Nothing,” Lott said. “Maybe we should be considering a vote of no confidence on the Senate or on the Congress for malfunction and an inability to produce anything.” Breitbart
I second his motion for a vote of no confidence in the Senate and the Congress as a whole and if I could vote I would vote for it. Lott is a pretty dim bulb most times but he has said a few good things in the past week and whether he knows it or not, he is expressing the feeling of many Americans with regard to Congress.
As an aside, I said during the last election we needed to get rid of Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. He was on the ropes with regard to his views and he promised he would be a wonderful man and so what was right as a Republican. He voted against Gonzales today and he is in favor of the amnesty bill. This just goes to show that he should have been voted out by the people of PA. I knew he would say anything to get reelected and then screw people once he got back in.

Impeach Bush if He Signs Amnesty Bill
Jun 11, 2007 Political
It looks as if the immigration plan will rear its ugly head once again now that el Presidente’ Bush is back in town. Bush, who views immigration reform as necessary and will sign a deal with the devil to get any bill passed is selling this country out for special interests. He is also trying to salvage a legacy and though I am not sure selling America out is the kind of legacy he wants now that daddy Bush is hanging out with Bill Clinton the Bushes will have the master to show them how to rewrite history.
Unfortunately, history is being rewritten as Congress and el Presidente ignore the will of the people and ram this flawed legislation down our collective throats. The bill is seriously flawed and is so thick and cumbersome that it will result in amnesty and little else. Millions upon million of ILLEGALS will become legal in one stroke of a pen and all else will be forgotten, litigated, changed or ignored as has been the history of past amnesty bills. The last one was supposed to secure the borders and yet we have 12-20 million ILLEGALS here in this country. I realize that the wealthy in this country need people to mow their lawns but given that obesity is a major problem in this country it might do the elite some good to mow their own damned lawns.
There are those who point out that polls indicate that Americans want reform. I do not dispute this but I point to polls that indicate nearly 70% of those surveyed say this bill is not the answer. They do not believe it will curb illegal immigration and feel it will cost billions while doing little. A comprehensive package is too complicated and opens too many doors to corruption and opportunites to screw the citizens.
El Presidente Bush is being stubborn on this issue and the Democrats who want this bill are saying this is the President’s bill. It is Ted Kennedy’s bill that the President supports. In any event, it is amazing that the same Democrats who chided Bush for being stubborn are in his corner and want him to help force this through.
Those who vote for this bill would do well to remember that George Bush is not up for reelection this year but many in the Senate are. Those who vote for this will have to answer for that vote.
If el Presidente is successful in forcing this bill through then I would agree that he needs to be impeached. I don’t believe he lied us into war and I don’t believe he committed any impeachable offenses in the prosecution of the war on terror. I do however, believe that he will have failed in his duty to protect this country and he will have weakened our sovereignty if he gets this bill through. Of course, it still has to get through the House where 4 times as many people have to agree.
President Bush said he was confident this would go through and that he would see us at the signing [of the bill]. He won’t see us then but he will hear us when we call for him to be impeached.

For those of you who always accused me of being Bush’s lapdog or a blind follower, I told you before, I followed what I believed in and I expressed my disagreements when they occurred. I don’t believe in this so I am against him and I am so against it that I will side with impeachment if he signs it into law. That should clear things up for you [and you know who you are].

No Pardon for Libby While Illegals Get Amnesty
Jun 6, 2007 Political
While the Senate of the United States continues working on an amnesty bill for illegals that will allow gang members, sex offenders, murderers and malcontents stay in the country and welcome them with open arms and open pocketbooks, Scooter Libby is facing 30 months in a prison for a crime that he probably did not commit. While President Bush is touring the country pushing this amnesty legislation on us and indicating that he will give a fee rise and absolve ILLEGALS of their transgressions with the stroke of a pen, he has ignored the plight of a man who became the fall guy for a crime that only occurred in the minds of those suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome and their enablers in the media.
I am not sure Scooter Libby lied to anyone but for the sake of argument, let us assume the jury got it right. He has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and fined $250,000 for lying under oath and obstructing justice, the very things Bill Clinton was guilty of. The Republicans are only too happy to see Libby take the heat for the Plame affair but when they had the chance to punish Clinton for the same offenses they were negligent in their duties. Now that very Senate is pushing a bill toward the President that will once again allow them to neglect their duties and thereby grant amnesty to millions of invaders while ignoring the plight of a US citizen who worked hard in the service of our country.
I believe in the rule of law but I find it hard to believe that this judge actually thinks that the punishment in this case fits the crime. Sandy Berger stole classified documents and destroyed them, a crime that he admitted to and he received a $10,000 fine and probation. For the life of me I can not figure out how Libby’s crime was worse than Berger’s and how Libby deserves to spend time in jail.
I also can not figure out how George W Bush can run around calling Americans names for not supporting his get out of jail (and into country) free card while remaining silent on Libby. Perhaps he is worried about upsetting his new found friends in the Democratic party or is worried about salvaging some sort of legacy. I have read some of the lefty blogs and they are praying that Bush pardons Libby so that it will damage the Republican party. These are the same people who demanded heads when the Plame affair reared its ugly head and were dancing in the streets when Libby was found guilty. These are also the same people who support this immigration amnesty bill. I guess the elitist’s need for people to care for their lawns outweighs the sovereignty of this once great country.
President Bush would do himself and the party well to stop placating the Democrats and stop selling our country to the ILLEGALS. It is time for the President to step up to the plate and do the right things. He needs to nix this amnesty bill and he needs to pardon Scooter Libby and to hell with anyone who does not like it.
Only in America can a citizen and public servant be bent over and taken advantage of while the lawbreakers are allowed to waltz in and destroy the place.
When our great grandchildren read about this period in our history what will they think of the actions of our so called leaders? One thing is for sure, if the leaders continue on their present course those great grandchildren will be reading about it in Spanish.
Wake up America.

Obama Warns of Quiet Riots
Jun 5, 2007 Political
B. Hussein Obama was out on the campaign trail and he warned of a “Quiet Riot” brewing among disillusioned black folks in this country and he claims that the Bush administration has done nothing to “defuse” the situation. Obama likens the outcome of this situation to the 1992 riots where black people acted like animals and tore up a city because the judicial system found four cops not guilty in the Rodney King case. It does not matter how people feel about the outcome, breaking the law by rioting and tearing up the city is not the way a civil society addresses issues. Who did these black folks think they were, Muslims? Obama is carefully inserting the race card into the issue but one would be hard pressed to find any justifiable reason the LA riots occurred. White people did not riot and tear up things when OJ Simpson was found not guilty. The fact is, verdicts are handed down every day and they will make a portion of the people happy and a portion unhappy. Very few verdicts have 100% support.
Obama is concerned about the people who are still displaced from New Orleans as a result of hurricane Katrina. He asserts that the Bush administration has been incompetent and that poverty and hopelessness was there long before Katrina. Yes Mr. Obama, it was and the truth be told poverty and hopelessness was there LONG before George Bush ever became president. The city was poor and destitute long before Bill Clinton was president and certainly during his presidency so I imagine he was incompetent in handling it as well. In reality, it is not the job of the federal government to ensure that a city is not impoverished. It is not the job of taxpayers to foot the bill for other cities. It is the job of the local and state officials to foster an environment where people can prosper and by the way Mr. Obama, those officials were all Democrats.
Democrats failed the people of New Orleans long before the hurricane. Certainly we saw failures on the part of the federal response but the biggest failures came from the state and local level. While Ray Nagin was hiding under a bed in the fetal position people were dying. It was his incompetence that left hundreds of buses to get flooded when they could have carried people out. I will not rehash Katrina but there was enough blame to go around and it starts at the state and local level, an area Obama skips on his way to blaming President Bush.
Perhaps there are problems with people who were displaced but I would venture a guess that they have not returned because they do not want to. Certainly there needs to be more done to rebuild the place so people have something to come back to but in all reality people have been out of there for nearly two years, have put their children in better school systems and have probably started working and living in better conditions then those they left in New Orleans. New Orleans had a very high poverty level and since blacks comprised about 67% of the population, they were hit particularly hard. There will be many who do not want to return to Nagin’s chocolate city.
However, Obama could not resist lobbing that race grenade. He had to tell of the plight of black folks from New Orleans who are slowly boiling and will end up in a riot like the one in LA. New Orleans has received BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars and our money has paid for every pet project that the corrupt politicians have come up with. The real issues facing blacks, not only in New Orleans but in many large cities in America is a gangsta culture where young girls have baby after baby and the government subsidizes the baby farms while the baby daddies run around shooting each other. There is a high level of illiteracy because the Gs are dropping out of school because they can make more money running drugs in the hood. They get into a culture that involves young black men killing each other and sometimes innocent people who get caught in between. Most major cities have increased crime rates and there are many murders. Most of those murders are black on black where young black men, enamored with the lifestyle of thugs like 50 Cent, Tupac, and Snoop Dogg kill each other in disputes over drugs or other criminal activity.
These are the facts and they are indisputable. While race baiters like Sharpton and Jackson run around finding men in white sheets behind every rock and Hussein Obama blames the misfortunes of blacks on President Bush, more black people are dying because they lack the moral compass to set them in the right direction and they lack leaders in the community who will actually force them to do the right thing. They come from broken homes, drop out of school, and produce offspring while they are still children themselves. These factors are what sets the table for poverty and crime and the hopelessness that Obama is so concerned about. If Obama wants to fix this problem he needs to stop pointing the finger at George Bush and point it toward the black community because that is where the problem lies and until there are real leaders who raise a generation of people who are independent, educated, responsible and see government as a hindrance rather than a provider the situation will not improve. True success needs to come from within and all the government programs in the world will not end the cycle of violence and poverty that breeds in the black communities.
This is what Obama needs to look at. This is what the black community needs to address. This is what the black community needs to fix and until that happens there will always be a slow boil to a quiet riot. Hell, the quiet riot has been going on for years but it involves blacks not so quietly rioting against each other. Until Mr. Obama and the black community can solve these fundamental problems there will be angry blacks killing each other and rioting, whether in the aftermath of a hurricane or on a drug dealer’s street corner.
Blaming Bush will do absolutely nothing to fix the problem. One day, Hussein Obama will realize that finger pointing is not leadership.

We Pay Congress to Think; Be Nice if They Would
Jun 5, 2007 Military, Political
A judge threw out the case against a Gitmo detainee because even though the government showed he was an enemy combatant, it did not show he was an unlawful enemy combatant, a stipulation Congress made when the Supreme Court ruled Congress had to authorize the military tribunals. This ruling means the US will have to go back and show this guy was unlawful or many of the cases at Gitmo could be thrown out.
I think they should ask the guy for his Geneva Conventions ID card, a copy of his enlistment papers, and his birth certificate to see if he is from the country he was fighting in. If all three of these items are not present he is unlawful. Hell, without a Geneva Conventions ID he could be considered a spy. This judge was ruling based on the stupidity of Congress but the Defense attorney made a statement that shows he does not want to have longer military career.
The chief military defense lawyer here, Col. Dwight Sullivan of the Marines, said he viewed the decision as having broad impact, because it underscored what he and other critics have described as a commission process that lacks international legitimacy and legal authority.
“How much more evidence do we need that the military commission process doesn’t work?†Colonel Sullivan said. NYT
What would you have us do Colonel? Perhaps it would be easier on all of us if our soldiers just shot and killed these animals instead of capturing them. It gets tiresome to find these animals being released only to turn back up on a battlefield where real soldiers have to fight. How about if one of these guys goes back and kills any of our troops they hang you for it? Perhaps we can let a few of them go and maybe they can blow up your house on the next terror plot.
The system will work if jackass defense attorneys quit playing games with the system and if Congress would quit being stupid. But I am willing to just call them lawful enemy combatants and therefore Prisoners of War who will be released when the war is over, end of story. There are no trials for POWs, they are held until repatriated and since this war is likely to last a long time, they can rot in jail. Better yet, we can move them to POW camps in countries that do not like them and who are less sympathetic (and less humane) than Americans.
