Why I Would Not Sign The Petition
Mar 29, 2016 2016 Election, Political
There is a petition that is circulating to allow people with concealed carry permits to carry inside the arena during the Republican Convention. The Secret Service has said no guns will be allowed and they have the authority to do that. I do not agree with their authority and think their ability to institute such a ban undermines government.
The people with permits have passed very extensive background checks that involve all sorts of government agencies. People with permits have been vetted better than any politician the secret service protects. By banning the firearms the Secret Service is basically stating that government can’t be trusted.
Perhaps they are onto something…
The Secret Service is like the rest of the government. They are not against guns they are against YOU having them. If you are SS or law enforcement (other government people) then they are fine with you carrying a firearm. Who knows, maybe they are worried they will have to work harder and have less time for booze and hookers…
So by now you are confused. If I feel this way then why would I not sign such a petition?
It is quite simple. While I believe in the absolute right to keep and bear arms, meaning that you can carry them as you see fit (assuming you are a law abiding citizen), I also know that this event is a private event and the event organizers are in charge of the security and what takes place there. They have as much right to disallow guns at their private event as law abiding citizens have to carry those guns. But it is their event and they get to make the rules.
Your neighbor has the right to say you can’t carry your firearm on his property as do private businesses across this nation.
If you do not like the rule then don’t go there. Many people with carry permits will not patronize any establishment that does not allow firearms. That is their right and they are free to do so (and it is a position with which I agree). There are plenty of firearm friendly businesses where people can spend their money.
If the Republicans do not want people carrying firearms then that is their right. If you don’t like it don’t go.
I find it strange that the people who claim to be pro Second Amendment would have a problem with law abiding people carrying firearms and perhaps that says a lot right there.
In any event maybe those who have tickets should just not show up. Sell the tickets at a profit (if that is legal) or keep them to prevent others from attending. That will push the numbers down.
The petition will not have an effect since the SS has the final say no matter what but at least the RNC could come out in support of the idea..
In the long run though, it is a private event and those running it can do as they see fit even if they do sound like the anti gun folks on the left…

Motor City Madman Upsets The Regime And The SS
Apr 17, 2012 Political
Ted Nugent had some things to say during a meeting with Second Amendment patriots and it did not sit well with the Secret Service. Ted was discussing the current regime and he said that if Obama were reelected then he [Ted] would be dead or in jail this time next year. Ted also indicated that if a coyote was in your house urinating on your furniture it was not the coyote’s fault but yours for not shooting it. He even stated that we needed to cut their heads off at the voting booth in November.
I imagine the remark about being responsible for not shooting the coyote drew the attention of the Secret Service. Those among us who are able to think know that Ted was not speaking of literally shooting anyone and the comments are obviously metaphorical but the Secret Service can never be too careful when investigating the safety of the one they are supposed to be protecting.
You see, they ensure that Obama is safe. They are well armed and they are ready to use deadly force to protect him and they will even go so far as to investigate the words of a conservative who utters words they dislike (liberals who make similar statements are free from scrutiny). The Secret Service will investigate this non threat because they are there to do what Obama would deny the rest of us and that would be the ability to have protection.
Obama is a gun grabber and if he gets a second term he will work very hard to take our guns away. That is not speculation, it is a fact. We the People are not, in the eyes of a liberal, worthy of the same protection that liberals assure for themselves.
Bloomberg, Schumer, Pelosi, Reid and many other people in government who want to restrict or remove our Second Amendment right have armed guards protecting them.
This is hypocrisy. Real patriots do not need armed guards. What we need is for government to stop trampling our rights and let us protect ourselves.
Those rights, by the way, include the right to free speech that Nugent was exercising.
The Secret Service has better things to do like perhaps looking for real threats of the terrorists who slip into this country and who would love to hurt our leaders.
They should also be working on clearing up the bills they incurred for all the hookers in Columbia.
Perhaps the real threat is the one of those who are assigned to protect Obama and allowed themselves to be compromised.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Secret Service Spill Secrets About Presidents
Dec 1, 2011 Political
Some of this will come as no surprise since there have been stories in the past about how Hillary treated Secret Service agents. I don’t think it is a stretch that the other Democrats are like this. They do not like the military or law enforcement. Hell, they spent their youth protesting the “pigs” and the military and Obama’s buddy Bill Ayers killed police officers and tried to blow up soldiers.
It is not surprising to me that Republicans were respectful and treated the Secret Service well. Republicans praise those who sacrifice so much and put their lives on the line.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

A Tale Of Two Effigies
Jan 4, 2010 Political
Someone hanged Barack Obama in effigy in Plains Georgia, the town from which another clueless failed Democrat hailed. Jimmah Carter is pretty popular in Plains (as I imagine is Obama) and some miscreant hanged Obama in effigy. Some photos were snapped and then the little black doll with his name was removed. Most folks never knew it happened but the Secret Service is investigating the issue.
Someone hangs Obama in effigy and the Secret Service (SS) is investigating? This is not the first time and leader was hanged in effigy and I think the place where it was hung shows that it is symbolic of a failed president rather than a threat.
I saw these things all the time when I was in DC with the Gathering of Eagles. Leftists walked down the street with little George Bush dolls hanging in effigy. It is all part of the process and I sure don’t recall the Secret Service investigating.
I also recall that when Sarah Palin was hanged in effigy it was deemed not to be a hate crime. The police said that it was near Halloween and that people had a right to do it and all so it was no big deal. It really wasn’t a big deal except if it had been a Democrat (the referenced article even mentions that an Obama effigy would have to be investigated separately based on historical references). And now we see this is the case.
How long will it take the race baiters to claim it is racist because it involves the image of a black man and a noose?
No, someone hanged Obama in effigy to express dissatisfaction with him or his policies or both. Given that he has ticked off his base it could just as well be one of them.
No matter who it is the person or persons have rights to free expression and the Secret Service should spend its time on more constructive things like figuring out how to keep uninvited guests from entering the White House.
Some leaders don’t hang in effigy. Just ask Saddam Hussein. Oops, too late…

Bush Comes Under Fire In Iraq
Dec 15, 2008 Political
President Bush went on a secret trip to Iraq as a farewell tour and he was attacked while there. A reporter from one of those backwards countries there called Bush a dog and threw his shoes at the president. Bush ducked the first shoe and the second sailed past his head. The president waved off a Secret Service agent who was moving in to remove the president.
The soles of shoes are the nastiest of insults in that part of the world. The shoes were intended to be the nastiest of insults but only demonstrated that the guy throwing them is a sissy who could not hit a target from 12 feet away. Probably explains why they prefer bomb vests.
There were a few comments from the left wing moonbats indicating that it was too bad the guy missed, he should have thrown an IED, and he should have put a hand grenade in the shoe. There is no restraint when it comes to the hatred of the left toward George Bush. Perhpas the left sides with the reporter because they too are a bunch of sissies who could not hit anything.
Now I know that if this had happened to Barack Obama there would be similar comments from the fringe of the right. There are fanatics on both sides (though the fanaticism of the left seems to run across the entire spectrum) but the reaction would be much different in this case.
The left would read similar comments about their messiah and they would start whining about how mean the right is and how all they think about is killing people. Terry Bisson, the science fiction writer who goes by Thinking Meat, is always ready to point out how un-Christian like any right winger who talks about killing is. Discuss killing someone who desperately needs it and Bisson is immediately there to discuss how deranged the right is. He is not alone as many of the loons on the left do the same thing.
But where are these paragons of virtue in this instance? Have any of them called the moonbats who wished the attack had been more lethal any of the names they love to spew at the right?
Of course not. They have different sets of rules for the wackos on their side.
While I believe there are many people in this world that should be removed from it in short order (like people on death row and terrorists) I would never want to see the president of my country harmed regardless of which party he represents.
It was interesting to see the video. The president has pretty good reflexes.
Too bad this did not happen to Hillary. Then she would be telling the truth when she said she came under fire. Well, at least more of a truth than what she told in the past.
